ABS-CBN Releases a Statement on Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano

The Kapamilya Network, on Friday, October 23, releases a separate statements defending its big stars Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano from red-tagging done by top military official.

ABS-CBN is very concerned about the wrongful identification of Angel Locsin as a member of the NPA.

Doing humanitarian activities and speaking one’s mind do not make one a member of a communist group.

We believe that Angel, like any Filipino, has the right to express herself and stand for her principles without judgement.

We support Angel as she continues to devote her time, talent, and resources to various philanthropic activities.

Liza Soberano is an advocate of women's rights and supports initiatives that protect and promote women's interests.
ABS-CBN and Star Magic stand by Liza Soberano as she speaks out against violations of women’s rights.  This is her own voice and not of any person or group.
It is our hope that people may be allowed to freely participate in meaningful and rational discussion of issues without having to be red-tagged.

Avida has been a long-time partner of the Ayala Museum and we are grateful that in celebration of their 30 th anniversary, they have decided to support this fundraising campaign and join us in bringing The Rush Hour Concert experience to the virtual public,” says Ma. Elizabeth L. Gustilo, Senior Director for the Arts & Culture Division of Ayala Foundation, Inc.

The beneficiaries of Ayala Foundation’s Student Online Access Program include their scholars aged 5 to 21 who come from the most disadvantaged families in Tondo, Batangas, and MIMAROPA.

Majority of them have limited access to digital tools and the internet, with 80% resorting to prepaid connectivity for their online schooling. Through the virtual Rush Hour Concert, Avida and Ayala Museum will be able to provide a child with internet access for one year with every ticket sold, with their target set at 500 children by the end of the fundraising initiative.

Marking our 30th anniversary in these unprecedented times is a challenge, but we saw this as an opportunity to celebrate life by enriching more lives,” says Tess Tatco, Avida Land Marketing Head. “As we look back with gratitude and look forward with hope for a better tomorrow, we made it our mission to continue advocating for Filipino talent while giving hope to our nation’s future - the children.”

Join The Rush Hour Concert online on October 30 at 6PM, and celebrate 30 years of home through three decades of The Best of OPM. Regine enjoys doing these commercials with Nate, as he really loves Jolly Spaghetti. She shares one unforgettable moment of how he would have to be told to not eat it during their commercial tapings. “This is no joke, he loves Jolly Spaghetti,” she says. “Even before the shoot, he was like, ‘I can't wait to eat Jolly Spaghetti!' If he had a choice, he would have already ate it before filming pa. He even requested to have Jolly Spaghetti also for lunch! That's how much he loves it.”

Regine and Nate’s mother-son relationship is really the best example of how important quality time with the family is,” said Jollibee Marketing AVP for Bestseller Products Cathleen Capati. “And this quality time is made even more special and memorable when bonding over their favorite food especially at a time when most are staying at home.”

Sue Ramirez and Jelson Bay Star in Netflix Film "Finding Agnes," Premieres Globally on November 30

After Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story and Alter Me, Netflix today announced a new Netflix Film from the Philippines - Finding Agnes. The film is directed by Marla Ancheta and stars Sue Ramirez and Jelson Bay. Finding Agnes explores the themes of connecting with people, understanding others’ motivations and in the process finding yourself.

The film follows a successful entrepreneur (Bay) who on an emotional journey in Morocco pieces together the turbulent life of his estranged mother, and meets her adopted daughter (Ramirez). The film will premiere on Netflix globally on November 30.

I felt nervous at first, but really elated with the given opportunity for my first movie to be shown on Netflix. And I just hope this will open more opportunities not only for me but for other Filipino filmmakers as well,” director Marla Ancheta said.
