Charo Santos’ Acting in “Ang Babaeng Humayo” is Oscar Best Actress Worthy According to US Film Critics

Charo Santos performance in Lav Diaz' masterpiece "Ang Babaeng Humayo" ("The Woman who Left") should have gotten an Oscar nomination, according to US film critic Glenn Heath Jr. of San Diego City Beat.

In his piece titled "The best film performances snubbed by Oscar" published online, Glenn enlisted names of superb actors and actresses as a way to "pay respect to the unsung roles the Academy failed to recognize" this year.

"Rage, empathy, heartache, joy: This performance has it all," wrote Glenn.

"Director Lav Diaz convinced one of Filipino cinema's titanic figures to return to the big screen for this brilliant, nearly four-hour character study about a scorned woman, released from prison after serving 30 years, who traverses the countryside looking for her missing son," he added.

Glenn also noted Lav's famed long takes that helped establish deeper emotional stakes in the film "with the camera pinned to Renata's facial expressions as they change slowly over time."

Other names included in the list were Salma Hayek for "Beatriz at Dinner," Nahuel Perez Biscayart for "BPM," Tiffany Haddish for "Girls Trip," Kris Avedisian for "Donald Cried," Harris Dickinson for "Beach Rats," Ahn Seo-hyun for "Okja," Robert Pattinson for "Good Time," and Millicent Simmonds for "Wonderstruck."

"Ang Babaeng Humayo" is Charo's movie comeback after serving as president of ABS-CBN. The film brought honor to the country as the first Filipino film to win the Golden Lion or the top prize in the annual Venice Film Festival in Italy.

Earlier this week, Charo's co-star John Lloyd Cruz also received a best supporting actor nomination also for "Ang Babaeng Humayo" at the 15th International Cinephile Society Awards. He is competing against Willem Dafoe ("The Florida Project"), Armie Hammer ("Call Me by your Name"), Barry Keoghan ("The Killing of a Sacred Deer"), Michael Stuhlbarg ("Call Me by Your Name") and Arnold Valois ("BPM").

"Ang Babaeng Humayo" was produced by ABS-CBN's Cinema One Originals and Sine Olivia.

KathNiel Remains the Unbeatable Loveteam on PH Primetime TV

Tristan finally revealed himself to Malia last Wednesday (Jan 24) in ABS-CBN's hit action series "La Luna Sangre," following his supposed death in the hands of Jacintha.

More viewers nationwide tuned in to the heartbreaking and action filled face-off between the two and scored a TV rating of 30% from combined urban and rural homes as compared to its rival program "Kambal, Karibal's" with only 17.8%. The show also trended on social media as fans shared their thoughts on the much awaited reunion.

In the episode, a coldhearted Tristan faced Malia and did not succumb to her pleas. He even gave Malia a strong blow that threw her far away in the air. Tristan then ended their little rendezvous with a warning on the upcoming war.

Meanwhile, Soraya (Denise Laurel) presented to La Liga Unida a video of Malia talking to herself to prove that the Punong Bantay is out of her mind. Malia, however, was quick to defend herself and told them about her encounter with Tristan.

Will the counsel believe Malia? How will her encounter with Tristan change her perception of her old flame? Will she finally treat him as an enemy?

“Salamat Dok” Launches “Hospital on Wheels”

ABS-CBN current affairs program "Salamat Dok" launched the country's first ever "Hospital on Wheels" last Sunday (January 21) with the goal of reaching Filipino families that are unable to get medical treatment and surgery because of lack of resources.

Bigger than a regular bus, the "RP Healthcraft Carrier" has complete medical equipment and is sterile and safe for procedures like extraction of tumors and cysts, and reconstructive surgeries for those with cleft palates, goiter, and hernia.

The maiden voyage of the "Hospital on Wheels" was in ABS-CBN, where "Salamat Dok" conducts weekly medical missions as it airs live. The next stop is Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on February 18, to start the project's tour of far-flung areas in the Philippines where medical assistance is most needed.

Expert plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Jim Sanchez said the "Hospital on Wheels" is a dream come true for him, thanks to the help of various groups and organizations like ABS-CBN.

"I have the same advocacy and vision as 'Salamat Dok.' We both want to help the country and our countrymen, especially those who can't afford to be checked by a physician and are not able to buy medicine. Together, we can save lives. "

"Salamat Dok" anchors Alvin Elchico and Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo mentioned it has been the program's fervent mission to serve Filipino families in the hard-to-reach areas of the country.

"Seven out of ten Filipinos die without even being checked by a doctor. It is our mission to somehow decrease this number when we started our segment 'The Doctor is Out,'" said Alvin.

Through "Hospital on Wheels," we will be able to extend our medical assistance beyond nearby provinces. This is all for the Filipino family," Bernadette added.

Last Sunday, 13 operations were done inside the "Hospital on Wheels," while 114 had check-ups, 107 received medicines, and 13 got free haircuts in the program's weekly medical mission. This week, 27 more patients will undergo surgery in the mobile hospital.

Jing Castañeda shared that they will also be launching "Botika Pamilya on Wheels" that will be in tandem with the "Hospital on Wheels," and provide free medicine to the communities they will visit.

ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes emphasized the news organization's commitment to not just deliver news, but also to provide public service to every Filipino family.  "We will not stop in our mission of finding out and responding to the real needs of our countrymen," she said.

Meanwhile, four more "Hospital on Wheels" will be assembled with the help of the RP Healthcraft Carrier Foundation. Its chairman of the board, Philip Punzalan said that they need approximately 18 "Hospital on Wheels" to be able to cover the entire country. With this, they are hoping to get more support for the project from other organizations and individuals.

For more information on "Hospital on Wheels," and to gain knowledge and tips on how to care for the Filipino family, tune in every 6 am on Saturday and 7:30 am on Sunday on ABS-CBN or ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167). Empoy is Yeng Constantino’s Leading Man in Futuristic Video for Comeback Single “Pinipigil”

Pop-rock superstar Yeng Constantino is officially back after a four-year hiatus from recording, starting with a brand new electro pop single entitled "Pinipigil" produced under Star Music.

Yeng shares that her new "Pinipigil" track is about the struggle of resisting feelings or falling in love. She said, "it's either because the person got hurt before or she's prioritizing present plans rather than letting feelings in."

The single's music video is already out and it features Yeng as a refugee alien, who wakes up from slumber and checks out planet Earth if it is viable to live in. But as she zooms in, she sees her leading man, played by Empoy Marquez, and instantly falls in love with him.

Wanting to really change her appearance for the video, the singer herself pitched the concept to Director Paul Alexei Basinillo. She also fell in love with its EDM vibe when KidWolf joined the production.

After the music video premiere on MYX, the song instantly entered the hit charts, and is now placing 4th in the MYX Daily Top 10.

Yeng composed "Pinipigil," which was mixed and mastered by KidWolf, and produced by Star Music's audio content head, Jonathan Manalo.

The singer-songwriter shared that she doesn't necessarily experience what she said in her lyrics, but it's a product of her endearment to her fans.

She stressed, "I think it's time to write songs for people who listen to you. Because at the end of the day, their life theme song is what sticks with them."

Aside from her new single, the pop rock princess is now working on her upcoming album to be launched in March.

Download a copy of the single "Pinipigil," now available in digital stores. For more details on Yeng's single, visit, like Star Music, and follow it on Twitter and Instagram @ StarMusicPH.

"Call Me By Your Name" Vies for Oscar Best Picture, Actor and Screenplay

Sony Pictures Classics' heartbreaking love story Call Me By Your Name received four major Academy Award nominations Tuesday night, a week before it opens in the Philippines, exclusively in Ayala Malls Cinemas, on Januay 31.

The critically acclaimed romantic drama is vying for Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Timothee Chalamet), Best Adapted Screenplay (James Ivory) and Best Original Song - “Mystery of Love” – Music & Lyrics by Sufjan Stevens (

"Wow, what an incredible morning. I'm a bit in shock. ... I am in awe of the pedigree of the Academy. I am truly honored,” Chalamet said in a statement.

The 22-year-old became the youngest Best Actor nominee in almost 80 years.

The feeling of gratitude I have at the moment has less to do with individual achievement and more with the appreciation for the artists past honored in this category and all of the nominees of this year,” he continues. “Without Luca Guadagnino’s true mastery and vision, and without Armie Hammer’s trust and guidance, without the public arts funding that made my high school education at LaGuardia possible, I wouldn’t be in this position.

Rated R-16 With No Cuts by the MTRCB, Call Me By Your Name, is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the acclaimed novel by André Aciman.

It’s the summer of 1983 in the north of Italy, and Elio Perlman (Chalamet), a precocious 17- year-old young man, spends his days in his family’s 17th century villa transcribing and playing classical music, reading, and flirting with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel).

Elio enjoys a close relationship with his father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an eminent professor specializing in Greco-Roman culture, and his mother Annella (Amira Casar), a translator, who favor him with the fruits of high culture in a setting that overflows with natural delights. While Elio’s sophistication and intellectual gifts suggest he is already a fully-fledged adult, there is much that yet remains innocent and unformed about him, particularly about matters of the heart.

One day, Oliver (Hammer), a 24 year-old American college graduate student working on his doctorate, arrives as the annual summer intern tasked with helping Elio’s father. Amid the sun-drenched splendor of the setting, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.

Opening exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting January 31, Call Me By Your Name is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

An Immersive and Unique Love Story Emerges in Academy Awards Best Picture Nominee "Shape Of Water"

Guillermo Del Toro’s “Shape of Water” has emerged to be this year’s frontrunner in the 90th Academy Awards with 13 major nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress – Sally Hawkins, Best Supporting Actress – Octavia Spencer, Best Supporting Actor – Richard Jenkins, Best Director – Guillermo Del Toro, Best Original Score – Alexandre Desplat, Best Orignal Screenplay – Guillermo Del Toro and Vanessa Taylor , Best Cinematography – Dan Laustsen, Best Costume Design – Luis Sequiera, Best Film Editing – Sidney Wolinsky, Best Sound Mixing – Glen Gaulthier, Christian Cooke and Brad Zoern, Best Sound Editing – Nathan Robitaille and Nelson Ferreira  and Best Production Design -  Paul Austerberry, Shane Vieau and Jeff Melvin.

“The Shape of Water” is set in a secret government laboratory at the height of the Cold War, where a visually dazzling, emotionally daring feat of the imagination erupts.  Del Toro mixes many genres from lush musicals to suspenseful noir, the film particularly revisits and reinvigorates the enduring allure of the monster movie playing upon our most primal emotions of fear, abandonment and danger but also curiosity, awe and desire.

The film brings its audience into a mysterious government facility in Baltimore where, in the deepest recesses of the lab, an amphibious creature (played by Doug Jones) is being studied for its unusual abilities. As Agent Strickland (Michael Shannon) demands for it to be killed and autopsied, Dr. Hoffstetler (Michael Stuhlbarg) insists that the creature’s secrets can only be revealed with a lighter touch.

But it’s the facility’s quietest employee who realises the truest connection to the creature. Mute cleaner Elisa (Sally Hawkins) feels a strange affinity with this mysterious visitor from the deep. And as the men in charge prevaricate, she resolves to release the creature from its captors, with the aid of her friend Zelda (Octavia Spencer) and her next door neighbour Giles (Richard Jenkins).

Exploring the idea of love and its barriers, internal and external, was paramount to Del Toro.  “I wanted to create a beautiful, elegant story about hope and redemption as an antidote to the cynicism of our times.  I wanted this story to take the form of a fairytale in that you have a humble human being who stumbles into something grander and more transcendental than anything else in her life.  And then I thought it would be a great idea to juxtapose that love against something as banal and evil as the hatred between nations, which is the Cold War, and the hatred between people due to race, color, ability and gender.

The fact that the film’s two leads don’t speak, not conventionally anyway, only heightens the love story by stripping away the miscommunications that often stand between humans. “One thing about love is that it is so incredibly powerful, it doesn't require words,” says Del Toro.

An engaging different love story, “Shape of Water” opens February 21 in cinemas nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Ready Player One. From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller. When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.

Father Figures. Ed Helms and Owen Wilson play Peter and Kyle Reynolds, two brothers whose eccentric mother (Glenn Close) raised them to believe their father had died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father, learning more about their mother than they probably ever wanted to know.

Game Night. Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams star as Max and Annie, whose weekly couples game night gets kicked up a notch when Max’s charismatic brother, Brooks (Kyle Chandler), arranges a murder mystery party, complete with fake thugs and faux federal agents. Rampage. Global megastar Dwayne Johnson headlines this action adventure about primatologist Davis Okoye who shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

A Star is Born. Bradley Cooper directs and stars with Lady Gaga, in her first leading role in a major motion picture. In this new take on the tragic love story, he plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers—and falls in love with—struggling artist Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer… until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

Oceans 8. The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when eight women plan and execute a heist in New York. Sandra Bullock stars in the title role, alongside Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, with Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter.

The Nun. Filmmaker James Wan explores another dark corner of that universe with “The Nun.” When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret.

The Meg. In this science fiction action thriller, a deep-sea submersible has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon.

Crazy Rich Asians. This comedy follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life.

Smallfoot. An animated adventure for all ages, with original music and an all-star cast, the is animated comedy turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti (Channing Tatum) finds something he thought didn’t exist—a human.

Mowgli. Blending live action and performance capture, the action-adventure features an impressive roster of stars, including Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch. The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, there may be greater dangers lurking, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.

Tag. Based on a true story, this comedy shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing. For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade—risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry: “You’re It!” This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target. The ensemble cast led is by Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones, Isla Fisher, Leslie Bibb, Hannibal Buress, with Jon Hamm and Jeremy Renner.

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies. When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! The comedy finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers.

When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing's law enforcement is only exacerbated.  A last stand erupts in as a mother is pushed to the edge by her daughter’s unsolved murder.

From this year’s Golden Globe Awards, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” has already won Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Screenplay for a Motion Picture – Martin McDonagh, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama – Frances McDormand and Best Supporting Actor – Sam Rockwell.  The film also took home major awards in this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Acting Ensemble, Best Actress – Frances McDormand and Best Supporting Actor – Sam Rockwell.

This year’s Critics’ Choice Awards’ big winner, “The Shape of Water” won major awards as Best Film, Best Director, Best Production Design and Best Score.  From the Golden Globe Awards, Guillermo Del Toro was awarded Best Director for a Motion Picture.

Filipino Boyband 1:43 Launches New Members and Music Video for Newest Single “Pasensya Na”

Local music fans may stop holding their breath as the much-awaited launch of iconic Filipino boy band 1:43’s official music video for its second comeback single “Pasensya Na” has finally arrived. Presented by world-class leather goods maker McJim Class Leather, the “Pasensya Na” music video was filmed by the 1:43 team in Taipei, Taiwan, early December last year.

A song that evokes a universal theme and is presented by a world-class brand like McJim deserves no less than a world-class treatment for its music video. That is why for ‘Pasensya Na,’ 1:43 decided to take its fans and everyone who considers themselves martyrs of love on an emotional rollercoaster ride in Taipei, Taiwan,” says 1:43 founder and manager Chris Cahilig.

If they love the song, they will surely get hooked on this visual and auditory treat of a video that we have prepared for them. ‘Pasensya Na’ is something that almost everyone can relate to as most of us - at one point in our lives - have been martyrs of love and slaves to our emotions,” Cahilig muses.

McJim recently picked the 1:43 as the second recipient of its Dreams Get Real OPM Advocacy Grant for “Pasensya Na”. Having been consistently supportive of Filipino music, McJim likewise tapped 1:43 to further promote OPM by making it more appealing and relevant, especially to the younger generation. In fact, McJim - towards this end  - successfully launched talent searches for the next big thing in the local music scene and sponsored the music of personalities like Tony Labrusca, X-Factor UK contestant JBK, Neo Domingo, Myrus, and 1:43.

For decades, McJim has always adhered to its exceptional standards in product quality,” the company said in a statement. “By taking on this advocacy, the brand shows its intent to pursue outstanding local music talents in the country and, in the process, help realize the potential of OPM as a world-class force.

And right now,” McJim adds, “we can’t think of a better partner for this than the charismatic 1:43. We are confident that their heart-tugging second comeback single ‘Pasensya Na’ will inspire more young Filipino music fans to appreciate OPM.”

Composed by Jason Dedal and arranged by Sonic State Audio Studio, “Pasensya Na” expresses the kind of love that is willing to give - and give some more - just as long as the beloved is happy.

“Handa akong gawin ang lahat-lahat ng gusto mo / Handa akong ialay ang aking buhay para lang sa’yo / Handa akong ubusin ang aking sarili, o mahal ko / Basta’t lumigaya ka lang kahit ako pa ang masaktan,” goes the song’s chorus.

“Pasensya Na” is McJim’s official soundtrack in its viral short film “Sinturon,” which garnered millions of views in various Facebook pages in a brief span of time.

The emotionally engaging “Pasensya Na” music video can be viewed on 1:43’s official YouTube and Facebook pages, as well as on McJim’s digital platforms.

“Pasensya Na” may also be streamed in various digital platforms like Spotify worldwide, and is currently enjoying favorable airplay on FM radio stations nationwide. It follows the success of 1:43’s hit comeback single “Trapik Tralala,” which centered on love in the time of traffic gridlock.

Whether it’s all about unrequited love, loving someone from a distance, or pining for a lost love, ‘Pasensya Na’ speaks for those who have given their lovers all they’ve got and are still found wanting. If you have ever said sorry or ‘pasensya na’ to someone because loving them too much is simply not enough, this song speaks to you,” Cahilig says.

Still, Cahilig adds, “there is solace in music, and a song like ‘Pasensya Na’ comforts distressed lovers with the thought that you are not alone in your pain; you don’t have to go through it alone.”

The new 1:43 features four talented and charismatic young men in the persons of Art Artienda, Ced Miranda, Jason Allen Estroso, and Wayne Avellano. The band bagged the 2013 Star Awards for Music Song of the Year for the monster hit “Sa Isang Sulyap Mo” and scored the “Most Promising Performing and Recording Group” recognition in the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation’s 45th Box-Office Entertainment Awards.

1:43 is co-managed by Cahilig and Mario Colmenares of Primetime Events and Talent Management.

Deadliest Rescue Mission in “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” Begins January 24 in PH Cinemas

Action reaches new heights in this mission-oriented third and final segment of The Maze Runner Series, “Maze Runner: The Death Cure.”  The Wes Ball-directed adaptation of the bestselling James Dashner YA trilogy is a 20th Century Fox production.  The screenplay was written by T.S. Nowlin. Producers are Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of The Gotham Group, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Productions Joe Hartwick, Jr., Wes Ball, and Lee Stollman.

“Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” picks up roughly six months after the Scorch Trials ended.  In the final battle of The Scorch the survivors of The Flare, a disease that has devastated the world’s population, have defined their purpose; to find a safe haven away from the influence of WCKD. This exciting conclusion of the Maze Runner trilogy reunites many of the original cast members from 2014’s The Maze Runner; Dylan O’Brien as Thomas; Kaya Scodelario as Teresa; Ki Hong Lee as Minho; Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt; Dexter Darden as Frypan and Patricia Clarkson as Dr. Ava Paige along with newer cast members from Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials; Giancarlo Esposito as Jorge, Rosa Salazar as Brenda, Aidan Gillen as Janson, Barry Pepper as Vince and Walton Goggins as Lawrence.

Uncertain if this “last city” had even survived, the “Gladers” knew that somehow gaining entry would be difficult. To then break in to the WKCD headquarters where Minho was being held, that was impossible. For Thomas, setting difficult goals was not unusual.  As Dylan O’Brien says of his character, “In the first movie the challenge was to solve the maze, to break out of the glade.  A big part of the group, led by Gally, wanted no part of that. They looked at the glade as their home and they were safe.  In Scorch Trials we were out of the maze, had a building to live in and were taken care of but there was a price to pay.  In this film, in Death Cure, Thomas wants to break in to the place that caused all of this to save his friend Minho, which he promised he’d do. Most thought it was a crazy plan.”

The final chapter gets even more WCKD in IMAX screens with the movie having an expanded ratio of 26% more of all scenes than the average cinemas. That’s 26% more of the action, suspense, and adventure! Coupled with IMAX’s gigantic screen, crystal-clear images, and powerful digital audio, it will feel like you’re truly part of the action.

End the final Mazer runner in the theatres where movies come alive – IMAX and SM Cinema! Book your tickets now on to Download the SM Cinema app now through the App store and Google Play. For more information follow /SMCinema on facebook and @SM_Cinema on Instagram

No friend is left behind when “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” opens January 24 in all cinemas and in all IMAX screens nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

It’s the summer of 1983 in the north of Italy, and Elio Perlman (Chalamet), a precocious 17- year-old young man, spends his days in his family’s 17th century villa transcribing and playing classical music, reading, and flirting with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel).
