Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar x Enchong Dee Celebrate 12 Flavourful Years of Great Food and Festive Dining

Homegrown with an international flair, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar is set to soar even higher in 2018 as it expands its distinct dining exPERIence.

Renowned for its Charcoal Grilled Chicken, BBQ Back Ribs, and 8 character-filled sauces, the restaurant has been steadily carving out its space among hearts of foodies in and out of the Metro since opening its first branch back in 2005.

Inspired by the flavourful kick of the African Bird’s Eye Chili, Peri-Peri has cooked great-tasting dishes with influences from South America while proudly wearing its Filipino heart on its sleeve.

Peri-Peri is the brainchild of local innovator Bryan Tiu. With his burning passion for food, the visionary has brought the many flavours of Asia and the world here in the Philippines through the IFoods Group Inc.

Our incredible growth in the last 12 years shows just how much our brand is loved. We laid strong foundations this 2017 by improving many facets of the restaurant. And as we welcome 2018, Peri-Peri is set to conquer greater heights and many more discerning palates,” said Tiu.

According to Tiu, Peri-Peri’s plans for 2018 and beyond included a “three-pronged approach” to the restaurant’s development.

To sustain our growth in the industry, we strengthened the brand’s major aspects this year. We put an exciting face to our exciting brand, added more creative and sumptuous offerings to our menu, and lastly, aggressively expanded our number of branches to reach more people,” Tiu added.

Peri-Peri and Enchong:  Love at First Bite

Recently, Peri-Peri has launched a series of online ads alongside TV and Cinema Ads featuring its official endorser, Enchong Dee.

Youthful and optimistic, Enchong perfectly matches the upbeat and active energy of the brand. The dynamic actor is well at home with Peri-Peri’s playful atmosphere.

A fan of the restaurant early on, Enchong said that he fell for Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar at “first bite.”

I fell in love with Peri-Peri not only because they offer the best chicken in the Metro but also because of the quality and love they put in every dish. You can just taste it in every serving,” Enchong said.

As a true testament of his love for the brand, the actor is also a Peri-Peri Happy Franchisee of UP Town Center, SM Megamall, and Ayala Marquee Mall in Pampanga.

Aside from the TV and Cinema ads he starred in, the actor currently stars in a series of videos available online that feature the vibrance of Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar; including one where Enchong dances to the festive moves of the Peri-Peri Chicken Dance.

The dance, according to the actor, was inspired by the “inherent fun energy” that you feel when stepping inside any Peri-Peri store.

We wanted to create something inspired by the really festive rhythms of South American street parties and hopefully bring people to their happy place. For me, that is Peri-Peri,” Enchong added.

A Celebration of Festive Tastes

In its search for more and bolder flavours, the restaurant also added more than forty new dishes to its already exciting menu. Taking inspiration from the explosive flavours found in South America, Peri-Peri made sure that each dish is tweaked to capture the local taste.

A selection of small plates was introduced by Peri-Peri recently. Each item can be enjoyed as an appetizer that complements the already superb chicken and ribs, or as a dish in itself. Don’t be fooled by the name though; they may be small but they pack a mean punch. What’s even more surprising is that these “small plates” are priced at P100 and P150 only. A welcome treat to the growing number of Peri loyalists.

From the glorious Grilled Bacon-wrapped Meatballs to the sinfully delicious Chorizo con Quezo Fondido and the highly-addictive Salted Egg Potato Chips, there are many must-trys to sink your teeth into.

For 12 years now, Peri-Peri is mainly known for their flavourful chicken, tender ribs, and memorable sauces. The newest additions though will surely make your dining experience only more indulgent and unforgettable.

More Flavours in Store For You

To further bolster its market presence, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar intends to open up more stores in the coming months. More stores are set to open soon at Ayala Feliz, Marikina; SM Marikina; Okada Manila; Robinsons Manila; Brittany Square, Fairview; Robinsons Magnolia; Banaue, Quezon City; and Resorts World Manila among others.

Currently, the restaurant has 17 branches in and outside the Metro. Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar have branches in Nuvali Solenad 3; Alabang Town Center; McKinley Venice Piazza; Uptown Mall BGC; Greenbelt 3; Eastwood Mall; Capitol Commons; Megamall B; Promenade Greenhills; Evia Lifestyle Center, Las Piñas; Gateway Araneta Center; UP Town Center; Trinoma Mall; Ayala Marquee Mall; SM City Bacolod; Meerea High Street Mandaue, Cebu; and the soon to re-locate branch in Myanmar.

Through a combination of mouth-watering food accented by a playful ambiance; Peri-Peri has built a food empire that is as distinct as it is exciting.

Darna comics fans rejoice as the Kapamilya network releases “Darna at ang Nawawalang Bato” (Darna and the Missing Stone), a thrilling, uniquely Filipino card game in the theme of the Pinoy pride lady warrior, through its recently launched Ravelo Komiks Superheroes brand.
Before “Darna” hits the big screen, ABS-CBN brings to life its iconic and well-loved characters such as Ding, Narda, Valentina, and Darna herself through the exciting deck of cards.

Three or more key players take turns in guessing and deciphering which card holds the magic stone among various characters and ordinary household items. With this, one must actually shout “Darna!” in order to win.

Fans got to try “Darna at ang Nawawalang Bato” card game during the two-day Komikon 2017, held on November 11 to 12 at Unilab’s Bayanihan Center in Mandaluyong City.

It is one of the products inspired by the Mars Ravelo-created superhero Darna. The card game is designed by Marx Rulloda and Karlo Senga and published by Balangay Entertainment Inc. in partnership with ABS-CBN Licensing.

Aside from the superhero in red, ABS-CBN also revives other characters in Philippine comics, namely Captain Barbell and Lastikman, through its partnership with several companies for its initial batch of licensees for the new Ravelo Komiks Superheroes brand.

“Darna at ang Nawawalang Bato” is priced at P150 and is available at the ABS-CBN Store, Fully Booked, Hobbes and Landes, selected National Book Store outlets, and other gaming and hobby specialty stores.

“One Music X” Marks the Spot as the Next Biggest Music Festival to Watch in the Middle East

Touted as the biggest Filipino experience outside the homeland, the collaborative event put together the Philippine’s best alongside Dubai’s finest; fused cultures; and united the Pinoy community as one

One Music X”, a collaboration amongst ABS-CBN TFC, Star Music, Myx, MOR For Life and One Music PH, promised to be the next biggest festival to watch in the Middle East and based on the promo tour at Al Ghurair mall and Tag 91.9 the day prior and the reactions from the actual crowd that day at Dubai Media City Amphitheater, the event truly delivered.

On November 3, the iconic DMC Amphitheater lit up as over 5,000 Filipinos, including other nationalities, made history as together, they witnessed one of the most memorable experiences of their lives – a day of performances from the best artists the Philippines has ever produced together with Dubai-based international acts; a rare opportunity to reconnect with friends and even family; and most of all, a momentous time to be proud of Filipino heritage and culture in a global platform.

Truth be told, “One Music X” gathered the best Filipino artists of their generation in one night and from start to end, the audience was hooked.   “One Music X” successfully revved up the audience when The Next Big Thing in Homeland EDM, Moophs opened the concert segment of the newest music festival in the region. The ladies in the house swooned over Moophs, and even labelled him “Hunk DJ” as he set everyone in a trance with his performance and charm. The EDM vibe accelerated further as EDM artist and theater actress Xela joined him on stage.

From EDM to mainstream, “One Music X” continued the music festival vibe with Teen Heartthrob Inigo Pascual. Pascual excited the younger audiences, eager to hear fan-favorite and Billboard PH’s first single to make it to its top 100 list, “Dahil Sa Iyo (Because of You)”.

Meantime, Pop-Rock band Silent Sanctuary was equally thrilled as their fans were as it was their first international performance to date. The band, known for bringing together classic and rock music, or rockestral, performed their most popular hits such as “Sa ‘Yo Lamang (Only Yours)” among other musical feels where a lot could relate with.  Out of tune but in synch with the music festival vibe, some festival goers boldly sang to each line.

Soul Supreme KZ, long known for her passion-filled performances, continued to amaze the audience this time in Dubai, at how great of a performer she was on stage, drowning in the words and melody of her music that included “Litong-lito (Confused)”.

Bringing to the “One Music X” stage her music history of top-raters, Yeng Constantino brought the house down while festival-goers sang to her every song such as “Ikaw (You)”.

Finally, closing the performances that night was the much-awaited set of rock icon Rico Blanco.  The Super Composer, Concert Master and artist dubbed Bestfriend Korics seemed to have captured his audience and brought them to his own world as he performed all-time greatest hits and solo performances such as “Your Universe” and “Videoke Queen”.

True to its promise of becoming a fusion festival of sorts, “One Music X” also brought together Dubai-based local acts such as Club 7 and top Dubai-based indie acts such as Australian R&B singer Josh McCartney and Seychellean reggae artist Emmanuel Marie who matched the Pinoy vibe with their international sound.

Completing the “One Music X” artist line-up was Myx VJs premier host Robi Domingo who was a crowd hit; homegrown favorite VJ Ai dela Cruz and MOR For Life’s DJ Chacha.  Capping the “One Music X” was a community singing of #JustLove, ABS-CBN’s theme for the holidays.

Outside the music festival, “One Music X” was a multicultural experience as well, bringing together iconic Filipino crazes such as the classic Pinoy videoke; to activities that appealed across races and ages: food trucks with international arrays of gastronomic delights; VIP and acoustic lounges; holistic workouts and more “YOLO (You Only Live Once) or ‘Instagrammable’ moments.

All factors considered “One Music X” was a successful festival.  But beyond the numbers in multitude, “One Music X” succeeded in bringing that piece of the homeland especially for Filipinos in their lonesome in Dubai.

Online netizens were also one with the whole experience as they enjoyed it via streaming.  On Twitter, “One Music X” trended at no. 4.

Much as the audience was exhilarated to be part of the music festival, the ABS-CBN executives were humbled at how the first “One Music X” made such huge impact for the Filipinos in UAE.

Roxy Liquigan, Head of ABS-CBN Star Music Group added: “One Music X seemed daunting at first given that it was the first initiative that required bringing together six huge groups: TFC, Star Records, Myx, MOR 101.9 and One Music PH. Based on actual feedback, we realize that One Music X hit the spot.  Our deepest gratitude go out to the ABS-CBN executives for trusting us and our Kapamilyas for supporting us”.

ABS-CBN Global Managing Director for North America Olivia de Jesus, who personally witnessed how “One Music X” made history, also shared her pride at the teamwork displayed by the various entities. De Jesus revealed: “I am amazed at the creativity, talent, and gigantic effort that went into the making of the first Filipino music festival in Dubai.”

De Jesus added: “The challenge was more pronounced because Dubai has a very dynamic market.  From a destination of choice for skilled Filipino workers, the country has evolved into a vibrant market with more young Filipinos coming to the fore. I am especially proud that TFC, together with Star Records, Myx, MOR 101.9, and One Music PH, has been able to evolve with the market, creating ‘One Music X’ – an event that speaks and resonates with them”.

Truly, “One Music X” turned out to be not just an experience but a legacy of sorts, promising to bring the same kind of experience elsewhere in the Middle East and perhaps, the rest of the world.   IG user @gemycamanuzon shared her thoughts on what could be a portent of things to come: “Grateful for the time spent with them (new friends).  The concert wouldn’t be so much fun without all of you!
See you in the next one!

Filipinos outside the Philippines can still experience “One Music X” all over again via TFC online (TFC.tv) and internet protocol (IPTV. Connect with fellow global Kapamilyas and visit facebook.com/TFCMiddleEast or emea.kapamilya.com.

ABS-CBN to Air China’s Remake of “Meteor Garden”

ABS-CBN officially bags the exclusive rights to air China’s remake of the phenomenal hit “Meteor Garden,” the idol drama that captivated the hearts of Filipino fans and started the Asianovela craze in the country.

In a press conference held Thursday (November 9) in Shanghai, China, the new F4 members were formally introduced namely Dylan Wang, 19, as the Dao Ming Si; Darren Chen, 22, as Hua Ze Lei; Connor Leong, 23, as Mei Zuo; and Caesar Wu, 21, as Xi Men.

Rookie Chinese actress Shen Yue, meanwhile, bagged the coveted role of Shan Cai.

According to “Meteor Garden’s” original producer Angie Chai, the cast was chosen based on their personalities that are similar to the Taiwanese version of F4.

The production group started its casting call in June this year, and various auditions were held in major cities’ first tier Universities – Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, and China. The production team received over 30,000 applications and resumes from F4 hopefuls.

When asked why Angie thought of rebooting “Meteor Garden” this coming 2018, she said, “It is fate that led me to producing this new version of ‘Meteor Garden,’ considering that it has been 15 years already since the launch of the Taiwanese version. The original manga for me seems ‘unfinished’ and that’s why I think I did not produce the series completely. At least now, I have gotten once more the trust and license approval of the original author, and I am very happy that I get to relive the events 15 years ago and feel youthful once again.

Based from the Japanese manga “Hana Yori Dango,” “Meteor Garden” tells the story of simple girl Shan Cai who gets involved with four popular and rich young boys in school who call themselves F4 or Flower 4.

The first and original “Meteor Garden,” topbilled by Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan, aired on ABS-CBN in 2003. This is where the “Meteor Garden” fever began for Filipino fans.

After six years, the fever is very much alive, this time for the Korean remake titled “Boys Over Flowers, which also aired on ABS-CBN. The KBS-produced adaptation formally introduced international supertstar Lee Min Ho to Pinoy viewers, who is now dubbed as the King of Asianovelas in the country.

ABS-CBN remains to be the home of “Meteor Garden” on Philippine television as the Kapamilya Network airs the Chinese remake next year.

TFC and Star Magic Bring Stellar Ensemble to Singapore in Celebration of Decades of Filipino Talent

As Star Magic’s year-long celebration of 25 years of honing Filipino talents comes to a close next month, the anniversary continues to intensify as ABS-CBN’s talent arm and premier Filipino network TFC gathered some of the biggest names in the Philippine entertainment industry for “Star Magic 25: A Grand Celebration in Singapore”, held last October 29 at the Zepp @ BigBox at Venture Avenue.

The Filipinos in Singapore were in for a starry night as some of Star Magic’s most successful artists came together to share their gratitude for their fellowmen’s continued support.

Grateful for the fan support for their television shows, live concerts and other pursuits, Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Jed Madela, Inigo Pascual, KZ Tandingan, Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Eric Nicolas, and Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, translated their gratitude into exciting performances.

Kicking off the celebration was their fitting opening to the tune of “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake.

First to share their performances were the Philippines’ own dancefloor royalties Salvador and Dee. Firing up the dance floor, Ultimate Dance Floor Princess Salvador sang and danced to “Cheap Thrills” by Sia, and performed her original hits “Dahan-Dahan” and “Haplos”. Meantime, the Dance Floor Heartthrob pumped up everyone with his song and dance performance of his hit single “Chinito Problems”.

From dancing to singing, Star Magic has been known to develop world-class talents and Madela and Tandingan proved it that night. The crowd was in awe when Madela performed the classic hits “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King and “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin” by Joey Albert. The World Championship of the Performing Arts Hall of Famer also got some members of the crowd emotional with his performance of the song “Go the Distance”, as the lyrics somehow speak of the Overseas Filipinos’ (OFs) journey. Madela also sang the inspirational hit “I Believe”.

For her part, Soul Supreme Tandingan showcased her versatility in performing different genres like rap when she did her own rendition of Gloc 9’s original hit “Sumayaw Ka”, as well as in ballad when she performed her big hit “Mahal Ko o Mahal Ako”, which she interpreted at the biggest Filipino competition for song composition at Himig Handog in 2014.

Joining their first Star Magic tour are Teen Singing Sensation Inigo Pascual, and the up-and-rising love team of Entrata and Barber, popularly known as MayWard.

Inigo could not hide his excitement as he entered the stage as he saw how the audience reacted as performed his hit single “Dahil Sa’yo”. The crowd could not contain their excitement as well as he channeled fellow Teen Heartthrob Justin Bieber by performing “Despacito” originally created and performed by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee.

Meantime, Entrata and Barber were grinning from ear to ear when they performed their single “Baliw” and Toni Gonzaga’s “Mahal Kita Kasi” for the Singapore crowd. Barber also got everyone cracked up when he tried to deliver his message in straight Filipino albeit with a German slang. He told the crowd, “Para sa inyo, Tagalugin ko ito — umaapaw po talaga ang puso ko sa pasasalamat (I will try my best to say this in Filipino – my heart is filled with gratitude because of everyone here)”.

From the newest hit love team, Star Magic and TFC also brought The Philippines’ Premier Love Team, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. More popularly known as KathNiel, the teen superstars top bill the top-rating series “La Luna Sangre” where they face the mission of putting down their arch nemesis. But during the night of October 29th, they had one mission – to give their fans a performance to remember.

Bernardo first performed the song “Sit Still Look Pretty” by international artist Daya. Padilla then joined her onstage, and together, they performed the theme song of their recent film with the same title, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, an original hit by the legendary Elvis Presley.

When it was his turn to perform, Padilla ran after Bernardo to stop her from leaving the stage, but the latter encouraged him and said “Kaya mo ‘yan (you can do it)”! and ran backstage. Padilla serenaded their fans with the song “How Sweet it is to be Loved by You” by Marvin Gaye.

From one charming leading man to another, loud cheers of “ang guwapo mo, Echo” welcomed Rosales when he got on stage for his solo performance. The Asian Drama King had everyone singing with his hit single “Pusong Ligaw”, and the song “Manila” by classic OPM group Hotdog, a song which also resonated well with Filipinos outside the homeland.

Meantime, the crowd couldn’t help but do a shout out of a line from a famous soda’s Philippine ad, “I love you, Piolo!” when the Ultimate Heartthrob appeared onstage singing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli and also performed “Kailangan Kita”. Pascual also took the chance to get up-close with his fans.

The excitement doubled as Pascual and Rosales performed the song “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by the classic international group Queen, together.

Meantime, Nicolas role was to inject extra entertainment and laughter and he truly delivered.

In the end, the prime artist performed an encore to the Star Magic 25th anniversary theme song “Ikaw ang Magic ng Buhay Ko”.

On top of the exciting performances, some fans got the chance to have a photo opportunity with the Star Magic artists. Some got even luckier as they were chosen to join the surprise photo opportunity with Pascual and MayWard.

At the end of the starry night, the artists were as thrilled and grateful as the audience for being able to share their gift of talent and be inspired to continue Star Magic’s pursuit of excellence in their craft.
Kicked off in October 2016 in Australia and in April 2017 in the U.S. and Canada, the last leg of celebrations will happen in December in Dammam on December 1.
