A New Kind of Demon Revealed in Exorcism-Terror Movie "Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz", Opens June 28 in Ph Cinemas

Do you believe in Ghost? Exorcism? or the Devil?

Are those just a creation of our minds? Are they real? Or just a product of our imagination?

Will you agree with me when I say that all of us have already experienced the devil in some ways or another?

Yes, all of us have already encountered the demon. Some of them are within our reach, belongs to our network, inside our clans, maybe...we ourselves are demons in some forms.

"Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz," the maiden offering of Kamikazee Pictures, a joint venture between VIVA Films and Erik Matti's Reality Entertainment, veers away from the usual "exorcism-terror" we see on both local and Hollywood-produced movie where the possessed speaks in a devilish form, vomiting green lava, with scratches all over the body, accompanied with hair-raising sound scoring and creepy on-shoot location.

In this movie, Katski Flores (Director), Erik Matti (Writer/Producer), and Charlene Sawit-Esguerra (Screenplay), perfectly put in place every single element that comprised an effective horror movie - script, acting, cinematography, sounds and pecial effects. The tension, thrill, terror we expect from this genre are evident, but in a situation you wouldn't expect them to happen

The producer also don't give much gist about the film's narrative on its trailer, contrary to other movies where the plot and the scary scenes were already a give-away and nothing you could expect more in the entire movie. So better be prepared to get stunned, shocked, horrified when watching it on cinemas on June 28.

"Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz," tells the story of Ruth (Sarah Lahbati), a reclusive police officer who moves into the hometown of a seemingly innocent young girl that is Leah (Shy Carlos). Ruth is still reeling from the death of her younger brother when she witnesses Leah jump out of a balcony. Gabriel (Julian Trono), Leah’s childhood friend, begs Ruth for help, prompting the latter to join the investigation.
Naturally, there are suspicions as to why Leah committed such act. Blame is put on two people. One is Rosario, a loyal maid to the Dela Cruz household who loves Leah as her own. She has a strong belief in superstitions. The other is Sister Eloiza, a school guidance counselor who once belonged to a cult but became a confidant to Leah.

As Leah’s odd behavior escalates, so does the friction between her parents Oscar and Marite. Oscar is a kind and loving father, but a domineering husband, while Marite has been an object of rumors in their small town.

Holding a secret that should be a big help to the investigation is Father Lucas (Jim Paredes), the local parish priest, but something is keeping him mum about it. The investigation takes a darker turn when Leah’s possession is revealed and sinister connections between the people closest to her come bubbling to the surface.

Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah dela Cruz" veers away from the norm. Don't expect the obvious plot we see in both local and Hollywood "exorcism" flicks. But be prepared to get stunned. Make sure you are emotionally, mentally capable before watching this film.

The tension, thrill, terror we expect from this genre are evident, but in a situation you wouldn't expect them to happen. Such an effective way to execute a horror scene. Kudos to Direk Katski Flores."

Cast and Characters Description:

Ruth (Sarah Lahbati) is a reclusive police officer reeling from the death of her younger brother when she witnesses Leah jump from her balcony. After Gabriel, Leah’s childhood friend begs for her help, she joins the investigation and pieces together the tangled web of evil lies and secrets kept by those around the young girl.

Leah (Shy Carlos) is a seemingly innocent young girl from a small quiet town. But all of this is brought into question when she begins to act in strange and unexplainable ways, causing harm to those around her. She grows fearful and helpless as the events around her get out of hand until finally, the devil takes over her.

Gabriel (Julian Trono) is a lighthearted, charming teen who likes to cheer people up. He is childhood friends with Leah and has deep affections for her. But when he finds out about Leah’s dark secret, he takes it hard and it breaks him completely.

Rosario is a loyal maid to the Dela Cruz household. She loves Leah like her own daughter but her dark, troubled past catches up to her, leading to very dire consequences.

Marite is Leah’s mother. She blames Rosario’s superstitions and her husband Oscar’s shortcomings for what happened to Leah. But what she doesn’t realize is that she too contributed to the maelstrom leading to Leah’s possession.

Oscar is a kind and loving father to Leah but a domineering husband to Marite. His frustrations with his wife are born out of rumours he has heard about her which he eventually finds out are all true.

From the creators of the blockbuster movie, Seklusyon, “Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz” is the first offering of the new film outfit Kamikaze Pictures, a joint venture between Viva Films and Erik Matti’s Reality Entertainment.

Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), the movie opens in cinemas nationwide on June 28, 2017.

Meet the Splashy, High-Energy "Kinky Boots" Angels

A splashy, high-energy, drag queen-centric musical like Kinky Boots deserves Angels that are no less than professional dancers who can gracefully bust a move and kick up the show notches higher in, what else but, high-heeled boots.

Presented by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group together with Metrobank Card Corporation, Kinky Boots is Cyndi Lauper’s Tony and Grammy Award winning BEST MUSICAL whose plot revolves around a struggling shoe factory Charlie Price inherited from his father. As Charlie seeks ways to save the factory, he met the fabulous entertainer and drag queen Lola, along with her squad of six drag dancers known as the “Angels,” who helped him breathe new life to the business.

Much of the color, glitter, and glamour of Kinky Boots can be attributed to the dazzling performances of the Angels, which will be portrayed by AddLib dancer Mark Pineda, freelance singer and actor Gerhard Krysstopher, and G-Force dancers Ritz Beltran, Jazztin Cacayan, Michael Jahnke, and Jorge Jahnke.

Mark may have had experiences as a theater actor, but training as one of the Angels still proved to be challenging. He shares, “Even though I've had a little training in jazz, coming from a street dance background, I found the dancing style to be really challenging. It felt weird at first but I made it through after a couple of practices. Not to mention, dancing in heels?!

Gerhard, meanwhile, said that being cast as an Angel allowed him to discover new training routines both as a dancer and an actor. Like Mark, what he particularly found challenging was dancing in heels. “It’s my first full-on drag role, too,” he quips, adding that “our dancing for this production also entails storytelling more than just choreography. The dancing, as much as it is a spectacle, also provides meaning and showcases the many symbols the show carries and would like to share with the audience.”

Having the highly-skilled G-Force dancers on board is likewise a definite advantage, and it’s exciting to see the flavor each of them will bring onstage.

Ritz, who’s trained as a jazz and hip-hop dancer, was part of the Ateneo Dance Club and has been dancing since he was 14. A versatile dancer - who had formal trainings in jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip-hop styles of dancing - Jazztin became a teacher and a choreographer at the young age of 16.

Brothers Michael and Jorge make up the famous G-Force Asian Twins, who are known for their intense and fierce dance moves; Michael was a member of the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe while Jorge was a member of the FEU Cheering Squad.

More than the interesting plot of Kinky Boots, its incredibly entertaining, awe-inspiring dance performances also make it a high-heeled hit that will surely make the audience feel like dancing even beyond the end of the show.

The New and Improved Shell V-Power Offers Exactly What Every Morotists Need: Power, Performance and Efficiency

Becoming the best version of ourselves is an everyday journey, which requires hard work and perseverance. In order to get to where we want ourselves to be, it is therefore important that we make the best decisions every single day. This includes our personal choices for products and services that affect our performance while we work our way towards our goals. While we are confronted with so many options in the market, we should only choose nothing but the best.

Pilipinas Shell understands this need of Filipino drivers. To better equip them on the road, Pilipinas Shell continues to develop better, if not the best fuel formulations so far. Working with the best teams available, such as its roster of 170 fuels scientists across their five fuels technology centers, Shell continues to churn out innovative products to help meet the constantly evolving needs of its customers and their vehicles.

Every driver has his or her own priorities when it comes to the choice of fuel. Some value power and performance, while some value efficiency. With the continuously changing driving conditions in the country, the needs of drivers continue to evolve as well. Wouldn't it be great to have a premium fuel that offers performance but also formulated for efficiency?

Celebrities Jericho Rosales, Yassi Pressman and "The Voice PH" coach Bamboo spotted during the launch of the new and improved Shell V-Power at the SMX Convention Center

The new Shell V-Power offers exactly that. After over five years of tireless work by R&D experts, Shell unveils brand new formulations for its premium Shell V-Power fuels. Shell V-Power is the only fuel co-engineered with and recommended by the iconic Formula 1 race team, Scuderia Ferrari. Shell's most advanced Shell V-Power fuels are now formulated with its proprietary DYNAFLEX Technology. It comes in three variants: Shell V-Power Gasoline, Shell V-Power Racing and Shell V-Power Diesel.

Shell V-Power Racing and Shell V-Power Gasoline fuels target two key factors that can impact engine efficiency and performance - namely friction and deposits. The new Shell V-Power Diesel is designed to help restore up to 100% of your engine's performance by removing deposits from fuel injectors.

"We are constantly faced with the challenge to keep up with the rapid evolution of vehicle technology and the changing needs of out customers," says Anthony Lawrence Yam, Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Retail. "We understand their desire to give their vehicles the best which, in turn, may also help them perform at their best as well. This is why we have spent over half a decade of research and development to produce our best-ever fuel, the new Shell V-Power."

Gusto ko naman once in a while we go out para lang ma-ignite iyong spark. Hindi niya nakita iyon kay Digs - sobrang magkaiba sila. (Women have needs. They want to go out with their partner once in a while to ignite the spark. She did not see that with Digs - they are total opposites)”.

For Millennial Leading Man Anderson, his character Digs has been head-over-heels with Sam to the point where he got too comfortable. “May times na nararamdaman ni Sam na Digs is taking her for granted. Para kay Digs naman, mahal na mahal niya si Sam but sobrang komportable na siya. (There are times that Sam felt Digs is taking her for granted. But for Digs, he only loved Sam so much that he got too comfortable in the relationship)”.

The screenwriter of the film, Jen Chuaunsu, was inspired to write the story of the film because of the real-life experience of a person she once met. “Parang kinuwento niya how nag-break na sila ng boyfriend niya pero friendly pa rin sila,” she recalls. “We found that interesting. Kamusta naman ‘yon? Paano iyong relationship na ‘yon? So doon nanggaling ang concept. (She narrated how she and her boyfriend broke up but remained friends. We found that interesting. How is that? How are their relationship? That is where we got the concept)”.

In Digs and Sam’s story, after they end their 8-year relationship, they decide to remain ‘friends’. It turns out, this friendship becomes an excuse for them to constantly check on each other as they individually take on the dating game again.

Unlike the other break-up films, this Star Cinema directorial debut of Prime Cruz wants to approach the story in a different manner. “Usually kapag breakup stories heavy, drama, iyakan. So inisip namin, paano kung may story na dini-deal ang breakup pero mas light ang approach –- ganoon iyong film na ito, (Usually breakup stories are heavy with emotions, dramatic, and are filled with crying scenes. We were thinking of how to tell a breakup story but with a light approach -– that is the treatment for this film)” he says.

The film also looks into the crucial role of social dating apps in relationships these days.

Also part of the film are young stars Bryan Santos, Ria Atayde, Brian Sy, Gege Severo, Erika Padilla, Markie Stroem, and Emmanuelle Vera.

Will Digs and Sam, really just remain friends after their breakup?  Or is it possible for exes to be a couple again?

MegaproPlus Karaoke, Liza Soberano's Only Choice for High Quality Videoke System

If there's one other thing that Filipinos love besides food and family, it's singing.

From small gatherings and barangay contests, to reality TV shows and global singing competitions, there is no stage too small, or audience too daunting for us to show off our vocal prowess.

Celebrations are incomplete without a marathon singing session, fiestas only become more festive if there is a singing conpetition-as if we haven't had our fill from all those TV shows.

The Filipino's love for singing has become almost legendary, and in this age of the internet and social media, we have the entire world as our audience.

For many Filipinos, singing has also become a kind of therapy against the everyday stress, and the proliferation of KTV and karaoke bars everywhere-even inside the malls and Family Entertainment Centers is a clear sign of this obsession.

Videoke for every Filipino Family

This love for singing and videoke is what prompted two friends to start a company that will provide Filipinos with a quality videoke system, complete with the latest features but at a more reasonable price.

Founded by Mr. Kim Sung Bok and business partners Mr. Jacinto Co and son Mr. Andy Co, MP Megapro Plus Marketing Corporation is one of first local companies to manufacture its own line of karaoke systems.

"It is common knowledge that a party is not a Filipino Party without Karaoke," says Andy Co, proprietor and business partner of MP Megapro Plus Marketing Corporation.

"Our vision was to spread entertainment throughout the Philippines and truly showcase the Filipinos natural festive attitude through singing" adds Co.

MP Megapro Plus Marketing Corporation first began to develop and manufacture its own karaoke system in 2006, using Korean engineering technology. The first model they introduced in the market was the MP-100NS DVD system.

The MP-100NS became their flagship model as the consumer embraced the product well and remains as one of the bestselling models to date.

The MP-100NS includes all the features you need in a videoke player such as various sound source support for karaoke (MIDI, LIVE CHORUS: backup singer & instruments, WAVE & Lyrics). High performance Mic/Echo processor: USB playback and recording, Up to 5 kinds of background video; on screen song search for more that 18,000 somg titles; song reserve with back-up in case of power failure, storage of 256 favorite-songs and display; voice output for 10 key input. All Karaoke function (Reserve, Song Search, Nee song display, BGV, Vocal, Melody on/off, Change of Rhythm, Genre selection, Key & tempo control, Score function and it also doubles as a DVD Player.

Liza Soberano's Choice

To launch its latest lineup of videoke machines as well as its new brand the Megasound Brand, MP Megapro Plus, signed multi-talented actress Liza Soberano to be its very first celebrity endorser.

The launch event was held at the Luxent Hotel in Quezom City on June 15 and was attended by select media guests and valued trade partners.

"We chose Liza, not only because we believe that she best represents our brand but also because she embodies the millennial Filipino, ambitious, talented, very hardworking and most importantly-loves to sing in her free time," says Co.

Among the products launched were the MegaproPlus Karaoke DVD Player Home Entertainment System; High definition Multi-Purpose Karaoke system for Home and Commercial Use, Karaoke Hard Disk Player Premium Quality Entertainment System; wired and wireless microphones, amplifiers; Professional Karaoke Speaker Series; outdoor loudspeakers, and videoke cabinets.

Coinciding with the launch Megapro Plus also announced expansion plans in-line with the company's vision of adding more products to enhance their customer's katltaoke experience. The brand showcased its own lineup of speakers, amplifiers, LED TV as well as other consumer appliances.

“C1 BTS” also explores the process behind the top-rating radio drama program, “Dear MOR,” to prove that video did not kill the radio star, and that radio is still alive and kicking.

Charlie Puth "Attention" and Warner Music Phils. Artists Gather in One Big Event #AttentionCharliePuthWishBus

What makes a die-hard celebrity fanatic? When you learned that your favorite singer is about to launch his latest single, you would:

Travel miles away to see/hear/breathe the same air he's breathing
Beat the traffic jam (this is Manila, hello! Traffic is everywhere)
Conquer the heavy rain (as if soaking wet in the rain is as good as eating ice cream)
Willing to surpass hours of long queue to get infront and have a better view of what's happening on stage

If you answer "That's me!" on those items above, then, like me, you're a certified faney!

The "fan-in-me" was put to test on June 19 when Warner Music Philippines and Wish 107.5 launched the latest single of Grammy-nominated artist Charlie Puth called "Attention" via a mini-concert and the unveiling of #AttentionCharliePuthWishBus at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Despite the fact that Charlie Puth will not be physically present in the event, I traveled all the way from Nueva Ecija, surpassed the Metrowide Monday traffic, conquered the heavy rain and flood, queued my way to the registration along with hundreds of young students who flocked the venue 3 hours earlier than the event schedule. Yes, that's me! A certified Charlie Puth fan.

The event was headlined by Soul Siren Nina who announced her much-awaited comeback, not just to the recording scene, but also to Warner Music Philippines family.

Joaqui Madamba from the band BTC Sounds opened the program by performing some of his own compositions.

The star-studded event also featured viral artists and Warner Music Philippines newest pool of talents that include:

Ashley Gosiengfiao and her neo-soul band MIDNIGHT MEETINGS
All-male band ALTITUDE.7
Acoustic duo LEANNE & NAARA
Alternative rock act ALPHA CAELI
Also (photos not included) Pop-Rock band ABOUTRADIO and budding singer/songwriter MONIQUE.

All of them performed their covers of most favorite Charlie Puth songs. They even serenaded the crowd watching at the Uptown Mall Activity Center with their own hit songs.
