"Ayokong basta maging artista, gusto kong maging aktor!" - Daniel Padilla

Original content first published on ThePulse.ph

Some fans may consider the goofy Kiko in the 2015 flick Crazy Beautiful You as Daniel Padilla’s best role to date. Others might still be in love with the adorable Joaquin of the 2014 television series Got to Believe while others can’t get over the dashing Ely in his most recent blockbuster, Barcelona: A Love Untold.

But if you ask Daniel, he does not have a favorite character. “Ang hirap kasi nang may favorite kasi iba-iba ang characters. Wala kang magiging favorite talaga,” he tells Inside Showbiz Weekly.

The 21-year-old does not consider one project as more memorable than the other. “Lahat naman kasi different ‘yung experience. Every [project na] bigay sa ‘yo, bago na naman. Para sa akin, parating iba. Hindi ‘yung tipong ikukumpara ko ‘yung bago doon sa last.”

He stresses that he makes sure to choose his roles well and essay them the best way he can. “Gusto ko laging may puso ‘yung character ko. I mean, nagkakamali pero at the end of the day, may puso talaga.” He adds that there is a part of him in every character he plays. “Kay Ely, pareho kami sa pamilya, ‘yung sobrang mahal na mahal ang pamilya, tutulungan ang pamilya. Kay Kiko naman, ‘yung pagiging magulo ko. Doon naman kay Kenji sa She’s Dating the Gangster, nandoon naman ‘yung pagiging misteryoso ko.

Kathryn Bernardo, From Teen Queen to a Fine Woman

Original content first published on ThePulse.ph

Shedding her youth and embracing new-found maturity, Kathryn Bernardo rises to take her place on the grand stage as a fierce queen. one who reigns supreme not only as a certified box-office star, but as a truly empowered woman

Much has changed over the years, especially for Kathryn Bernardo who first started her career at seven years old when she appeared as Cielo on ABS-CBN’s It Might Be You. From simply seeking fun on the studio set as a child, Kathryn’s dreams have grown, with her wanting to make it big to the silverscreen.

Like other aspiring actresses of her generation, she was willing to take on any project and put in the extra hours, a plea to destiny that she was willing to do more than what was expected to make it in the industry. Her faith and hard work was rewarded with roles that eventually led her to a breakout role in Mara Clara. Playing opposite Julia Montes, Kathryn showed off her gift as a dramatic actress, imbuing innocence and strength in the role originally taken on by Judy Ann Santos. Like her esteemed predecessor, Kathryn established herself as a true talent, who despite her young age had the gravitas to bring to life a compelling character. She shone and became a certified star.

The success of the top-rated teleserye convinced Star Cinema to sign Kathryn on for a two-picture contract. Way Back Home became her first feature film with Julia Montes. At just 15 years old, Kathryn carried the burden of the film on her shoulders. The movie, to say the least, was an utterly overwhelming yet thrilling project for the aspiring actress.

The film was only shown in cinemas for two weeks giving way to another Star Cinema films, but it landed in first place with P18 million within its first week. Soon, what followed was a slew of teleseryes and films for Kathryn, which further cemented her status as a teen queen. Exploring her leading lady potential, Kathryn was matched with several actors with hopes of finding the new “John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo.”

Her chemistry was tested with Kristoffer Martin, Albie CasiƱo, Khalil Ramos and Enrique Gil, but it was with Daniel Padilla that true showbiz magic was found.

Filipinos Worlwide Can Now Watch Alab Pilipinas’ Games in ABL Live on ABS-CBN Sports + Action via TFC

Filipino basketball enthusiasts have something new to look forward to as the new Philippine team, Alab Pilipinas, will represent the country in the upcoming ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), with all their games airing on ABS-CBN Sports and Action and the games in the Philippines, LIVE in key countries worldwide via TFC.

ABL is a basketball league that was a brainchild of different ASEAN Leaders created during a meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was launched in 2009, no less than in the Philippines.  The league is open for all countries that are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

This season, ABL’s 7th, the league marks a milestone as it opens to two non-ASEAN countries: Hong Kong Eastern Sports Club and Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Truth.

According to ABL Chief Operating Officer Jericho Ilagan, during the press conference for the opening of the league, the inclusion of non-ASEAN countries in the league “is a great sign for the league because it shows that the ABL is reaching more and more people.”

He also notes that this season will be “very exciting” since the current champion Westports Malaysia Dragon will try to defend their title, the Singapore Slingers thirsty to win their first championship, and the three new teams – Alab Pilipinas, Hong Kong Eastern Sports Club and Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Truth - up to prove themselves.

Dino Laurena, head of ABS-CBN Integrated Sports said in a recent interview with abs-cbnnews.com that as a way of promoting nation-building, the Alab Pilipinas games will air live on ABS-CBN Sports & Action.

“These games will end up becoming national events, something that people will anticipate.  It’s a way for us to show our sense of pride,” he notes.  “Hopefully, it will also bring people together and give them a reason to celebrate,” Laurena muses.

Alab Pilipinas is the 4th team that will represent the country in ABL, following the first three teams: the AirAsia Philippine Patriots which won the 2010 championships; San Miguel Beermen that won the 2013 title; and the Pilipinas MX3 Kings.

Alab Pilipinas coach, Ronald Cuan said in an interview with abs-cbnnews.com that it is important for the country to have a “strong presence” in ABL.

The ABL is an established league that features the best in the ASEAN region, and it would be very healthy for Philippine basketball to continue making a strong presence there.”

This year’s team is composed of Val Acuna, Robby Celiz, Jeric Fortuna, Paulo Hubalde, Anthony Gavieres, Igee King, Jens Knuttel, Jovet Mendoza, JR Cawaling, Bobby Ray Parks, and Filipino-American Lawrence Domingo. Two more World players will join the team and will be announced soon.

As for the team’s fighting chance this season, Cuan boasts that Alab players “will be a fighting team with a big heart, very true to the Philippine brand of basketball of speed; accuracy from the outside and inside; team chemistry; and brick-wall defense, not to mention the individual talent of Filipinos in the sport.”

The ASEAN Basketball League will open this November 25 (Manila Time), with Singapore Slingers and Westports Malaysia Dragons as the opening game, and air on ABS-CBN Sports and Action in key countries around the world via TFC.

Also, catch the home games of Alab Pilipinas LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports and Action via TFC, with their first game happening here in the country on November 27 (Manila time), where they will be up against Singapore Slingers. Catch-up matches are also available via TFC.tv and TFC IPTV.

New TV Princesses Yesha Camile and Xia Vigor Will Brighten Up Worldwide Viewers in LANGIT LUPA Starting November 28

Will friendship be strong enough to bind two people who are worlds apart?

This is what viewers will find out in ABS-CBN’s newest TV series “Langit Lupa” starring Kapamilya child stars Yesha Camile and Xia Vigor, which will air in key countries worldwide via TFC and which will be streamed live November 28, 11:30AM, Manila time via TFC.tv

Before becoming a child actress, Camile was hailed the grand winner in ABS-CBN’s children talent competition “Promil-Pre School i-Shine Talent Camp.” Since then, she has already appeared in several Kapamilya shows such as “Nathaniel” and “Hawak Kamay.”

Meanwhile, Xia was introduced in “It’s Showtime’s” “Mini Me” competition, where she emerged as the grand winner. She then headlined the noontime show’s segment “Xia and Kuys” with Vhong Navarro and Billy Crawford. She also has appeared in the top-rating series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

The story of “Langit Lupa” will revolve around Princess (Vigor) and Esang (Camile), who are both treated by their families as princesses, only they come from different worlds. Princess belongs to a wealthy family, while Esang leads a simple life with her loved ones. At first their differences drive them apart, but as they get to know each other better, they become inseparable.

However, while their friendship grows stronger, a long forgotten past unfolds.

Like them, their mothers Lala (Yam Concepcion) and Dey (Alessandra De Rossi) used to be best friends. They reached for their dreams together and later on became business partners. But when Dey got ill, Lala and her husband Ian (Patrick Garcia) failed to give the money for her medication to Dey’s husband Joey (Jason Abalos), making Dey’s death possible. This made Joey bear ill will towards Lala and Ian, and put all the blame on them.

With the crossing of their paths again because of their children, will Princess and Esang’s friendship mend the wounds that have yet to heal a friendship broken in the past?

Also starring in “Langit Lupa” are Ellen Adarna, Tommy Esguerra, Miho Nishida, Jairus Aquino, Sharlene San Pedro, Buboy Garovillo, Viveika Ravanes, and Kitkat. MiG Ayesa Releases New Song FILL MY CUP to Inspire Filipinos to Live Life to the Fullest

You may know him as the finalist in singing-reality TV "RockStar: INXS" before headlining several concerts and appearing in highly recognized stage productions like "We Will Rock You" in London and Atlantis Manila's musicals like "Bridges of Madison County" and "Rock of Ages," Filipino-Australian and one of my most favorite rock stars MiG Ayesa recently released “Fill My Cup,” an anthemic, infectious, feel-good  song that he wrote and composed in partnership with FWD Life Insurance.

As how MiG describes, “Fill My Cup” is about following your passions and bravely making the most out of every opportunity, to never give up and let fear and hesitation stop us which certainly captures very essence of the FWD’s philosophy of celebrating life and living life to the fullest.

Check out the music video for “Fill My Cup” showing several clips of MiG’s outdoor adventures.

Q&A with MIG AYESA

Q: What is FILL MY CUP all about?
MiG: The song is about inspiring Filipinos to live life to the fullest. There are a lot of things that we are uncertain of, but we don’t let fear or worry bring us down. The song encourages you to just keep living life and pursuing passions because everything will work out.

Also, the song tells us to be confident and be ready to face whatever life throws at us. Remember, fortune favors the brave and we should always be prepared for tomorrow.

Q: What brought about the creation of the song?
MiG: It was easy to find inspiration writing it because FWD’s message matched the very essence of this song. I have had my fair share of ups and downs and you never really know where life will take you. You just have to roll with the punches, and keep on doing what you love to do since at the end of the day, you’ll never go wrong with following your passion. And this is exactly what FWD wants to tell everyone. Their message strongly echoes my personal take on life that Fill My Cup could easily be my life’s soundtrack.
Q: What do you want people to feel/do when they hear this song?
MiG: We simply want them to feel good and positive when they hear the song. It is meant to inspire them - don’t give up, don’t worry; keep on going, continue living up your passions. And because we are all about enabling Filipinos to living life to the fullest, we especially want to give the opportunity to Filipino children that’s why for every request which the song gets, FWD will donate P50 to St. Rita Orphanage. This donation helps opens up many opportunities for these children so they can live their lives well.

Q: Why choose St. Rita Orphanage? What does it do?
MiG: Aside from taking care of the basic needs of abandoned children such as providing them with food, clothing, and fostering a real home with a family atmosphere, the orphanage also takes extra measures to properly assess and address the needs of each child. These abandoned children need to feel that they are being treated fairly and they can be taught to trust again.

Guide to MMFF 2016: VINCE & KATH & JAMES starring Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Maris Racal and Ronnie Alonte

Director: Ted Boborol

Cast: Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Maris Racal and Ronnie Alonte

Production Company: Star Cinema

Gist: This light romance comedy successfully reinvents the teen movie with its fresh approach and fluid narrative, bolstered by a directorial style that is fresh and clean, indeed, admirably adept at executing the script’s rhythmic structure of twists and turns with perfect pitch.

While it features and may be intended for millennial, it should appeal to all generations. Strong points include highly believable characters that conduct a modern take on the Cyrano de Bergerac love triangle, this time through texting and online engagement.

The ensemble acting is excellent, in particular on the part of the lead characters. Dialogue is natural and credible, spiked with hugot lines that rachet up the kilig factor. No false notes reduce the delightful experience of sharing in young love that settles for nothing less than the proper equation and entitlement.

Guide to MMFF 2016: SEKLUSYON starring Ronnie Alonte and Dominic Roque

Director: Erik Matti

Cast: Dominic Roque, Ronnie Alonte (of Hashtag), Neil Ryan Sese, Lou Veloso, Elora Espano, Phoebe Walker

Production Company: Reality Entertainment

Gist: A horror film as intelligent as this has not been seen in a long, long time. Rising above the tried and tested tricks of engendering terror in the audiences, this Erik Matti masterpiece fearlessly delves into the difference and conflict between religion and spirituality, and raises questions about the sincerity of those that claim to preach the word of God.

A week before they are ordained, four candidates for the priesthood spend time in an old retreat house, to examine their consciences and the purity of their religious intentions. All the candidates must face the gravest sins of their past, which comes back to them in grotesque physical forms.

Shot with amber filter that bathes every scene in a surreal light, the film is notable for deftly manipulating and shifting sizes and angles of shots and movements of the camera in order to make palpable the confusion and horror felt by each character. The visualization of the monsters of past since as tiyanak-like creatures to examine their inner selves, as the film shocks the audience with its own reflection in the cinematic mirror.

Guide to MMFF 2016: DIE BEAUTIFUL starring Paolo Ballesteros and Albie Casino

Director: Jun Robles Lana

Cast: Paolo Ballesteros, Luis Alandy, Gladys Reyes, Albie Casino, Lou Veloso, Inah De Belen

Production Company: The IdeaFirst Company

Gist: This heartwarming gay film deftly combines comedy and drama to chronicle the glamor, gloom, and glory of one transgender’s short, short life.

After being verbally and physically abused by his father for years, Patrick is finally thrown out of the house for being gay. But as one door closes, many others open. Patrick transforms into the ravishing transgender Trisha, his long-time dream. Refusing to be bitter about her rejection and a gang rape in high school, she becomes a loving mother to an adopted daughter, a devoted partner to her lover, and a loyal confidante to her gay sisters. She also wins a beauty contest. Through her gay sisters’ machinations, she even gets her final bucket wish list.

Under the masterful direction of Jun Robles Lana, the film engages with its crisp and witty beki dialogue, the quiet and nuanced performances of Trisha and Barbie which reveal character rather than stereotype, and the marvellous transformation of Trisha’s face from Britney Spears to Julia Roberts, Beyonce, and Angelina Jolie. Here the gay man is no longer the object of derision but a cause for celebration.

Trailer:

Guide to MMFF 2016: ANG BABAE SA SEPTIC TANK 2 starring Eugene Domingo and Jericho Rosales

Director: Marlon Rivera

Cast: Eugene Domingo, Jericho Rosales, Kean Cipriano, Cai Cortez, and Khalil Ramos

Production Company: Martinez Rivera Films and Quantum

Gist: Where the original film satirized the sensationalistic tendencies of the indie film and the dishonesty of directors who make films for foreign festivals, this sequel launches a pointed but hilarious commentary on the pretensions and machinations that characterize the mainstream movie industry and its stars and superstars in our day.

An indie filmmaker writes a very personal script about his own deteriorating marriage and hopes superstar Ms. Eugene Domingo will consider starring in it. But when he and his assistants comes to see her in a spa, Ms. Domingo suggests “slight changes” in the script, so she can live out her own fantasies (as a beautiful young girl, in love with a handsome young boy half her age). With a mangled script, the director storms out of the spa. But Ms. Domingo goes on and makes the movie in her mind anyway.

While this comedy may be seen as a film reflecting on itself or a self-reflexive film, it is nonetheless a film that will appeal as well to all moviegoing Filipinos who will profit from and enjoy seeing through the falsities and frivolities of the mainstream movies they have been watching for decades.

With wit that sparkles in carefully-crafted dialogue and acting that shines way above the common place, this comedy tickles both the mind and the funnybone.

Trailer:

Guide to MMFF 2016: ORO starring Sue Prado, Joem Bascon and Mercedes Cabral

Director: Alvin Yapan

Cast: Irma Adlawan, Joem Bascon, Mercedes Cabral, Sandino Martin, Sue Prado, Arrian Labios, Biboy Ramirez, Cedrick Juan, Ronald Regala, Timothy Castillo, Acey Aguilar, Sunshine Teodoro
Production Company: Feliz Film Productions

Gist: A remote mining community finds its traditional way of life suddenly imperilled when it faces depredations at the hands of an armed group that misrepresents government authority.

Rural idyll is shattered, as are the modest plans and dreams of simple people. One saving grace is the resolute leadership provided by their barangay captain, a lady who has served her constituency for decades.

But her courage and moral ascendancy are not enough to prevent tragic consequences in this characteristic conflict when “small people” suffer the greed of others who rule by the gun.

Socio-political oppression can only turn a corner towards the saving grace of a mythopoetic ending.

Trailer:

Guide to MMFF 2016: KABISERA starring Nora Aunor, JC de Vera, Jason Abalos and Ronwaldo Martin

Director: Arturo San Agustin and Real Florido

Cast: Nora Aunor, Ricky Davao, JC de Vera, Jason Abalos, Victor Neri, Perla Bautista, Ces Quesada, RJ Agustin, Ronwaldo Martin, and Kiko Matos

Production Company: Silver Story Entertainment and Fire Starters Manila Production Co.

Gist: This socio-political drama unfolds as a quietly powerful and gripping story of a tightly-knit family coming to grips with abusive elements of Philippine society, specifically the hooded perpetrators of extra-judicial killings.

Taking issue with human rights violations doesn’t only serve the film as fine advocacy for its relevant and timely choice of theme, but also subtly reveals various other concerns imbedded in the thread of conflicts.

A sure, steady directorial hand, conscientious script and effective cinematography are matched by the lead actors’ faultless performances.

This taut and tragic drama will disturb viewers with its stark chronology of what confronts us daily in an often oppressive urban milieu, with the final imagery delivering a subtle footnote to our awareness of the proper place of vaunted justice in our society.

Trailer:

Guide to MMFF 2016: SUNDAY BEAUTY QUEEN starring Filipino Domestic Helpers in Hong Kong

Director: Baby Ruth Villarama

Cast: Filipino domestic helpers in Hong Kong

Production Company: Voyage Studios Tuko Film, Buchi Boy Entertainment, Artikulo Unos Productions presentation of a Voyage Studios production, in association with Tokyo Docs

Gist: For the longest time, Filipinos have equated film with feature or narrative films, or films that tell a story, to the exclusion of other film forms, like animation, the experimental film, and the documentary. In contrast to the feature film, the documentary presents and interprets actualities, meaning real people, places, and events. But it has as much power as a feature film to move audiences. There is only one documentary in the festival and it is precious for being a well-researched, well-crafted, insightful and engaging documentary on Overseas Filipino Workers.

In Hong Kong, Filipina domestic helpers spend hours of back-breaking work, serving families and individuals, both kind and unkind. They suffer loneliness, accept low pay and inhuman working conditions, and are forever insecure about their jobs. But on Sunday, nothing but nothing can stop them from organizing, joining or watching the beauty contests which have become occasions for entertainment, socialization, fund-raising for a loan fund, and racial solidarity. In these contests, the working girls are magically and suddenly transformed into beauty queens.

Shot intermittently over a period of four years, the film unfolds in its own unhurried pace, like the lives of the main characters it focuses on. With a hand-held camera, it follows the characters as they walk to the supermarket, cook in a cramped kitchen, talk to relatives in the Philippines over the cell phone, walk the dog and bring the kid to school, or feed a senior employer. By the end of the film, the characters have bared their souls to us and we have opened our hearts to them.

Trailer:

Guide to MMFF 2016: SAVING SALLY starring Rhian Ramos and TJ Trinidad

Director: Avid Liongoren

Cast: Rhian Ramos, TJ Trinidad, Enzo Marcos

Production Company: Rocketsheep Studio

Gist: There is much going for this multi-genre film mounted by a small team of young animators who engaged in a ten-year effort to come up with an atypical youthful love story replete with child-like fantasy elements as applied through 2D animation.

Chivalry among the youth is manifested as a realistic element that also lightens up the urban setting, apart from adding to the innovative sources of delight.

While the dialogue is mostly in English, especially among the lead characters who are engaged in graphic design, comic books and video games, it faithfully represents a demographic among our Westernized youth that are beholden to a global outlook and contemporary inclinations as well as creative pursuits.

Frolicsome play wins the day for these youths that we can’t help but cheer on.

(Video) Mercedes Cabral Calls Mother Lily Monterverde 'Idiot!'

Regal Entertainment matriarch Lily Monteverde, who admitted to the members of the press that she cried when she learned that her film “Mano Po 7: Chinoy” failed to make it to the Magic 8 list for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), earned an ire of several filmmakers and independent film actress with her statement that independent films are not fit for the Christmas season.

Although she stressed that she had nothing against indie films, she remained firm in her understanding that it is not the right time to show independent films.

There is a time for the indie movies. But not during the Christmas season. Christmas is for the family,” she was quoted as saying.

Her statement did not sit well on award-winning filmmaker Erik Matti, uprising indie director Alvin Yapan and actress Mercedes Cabral who expressed their sentiments on social media calling Mothey Lily's statement as unfair. Cabral was even quoted calling the veteran producer "idiot!".

(Movie Review) THE UNMARRIED WIFE Answers the Most Difficult Question: How long will one fight for love?

Star Cinema challenges the many pronouncements on love and poses the most difficult question of them all - how long will one fight for love - in its latest offering “The Unmarried Wife”.

“The Unmarried Wife” is not your usual movie about infidelity as it tries to delve deeper into the marrow of relationships

Starring This Generation’s Drama Queen Angelica Panganiban as Anne, the main narrative is centered on Anne – a young woman who carries severe inhibitions on love due to a traumatic childhood experience. Her reservations on falling in love are wiped away after finding her great love in the person of Geoff (played by Dingdong Dantes). However, her blissful relationship with her husband is short-lived because of Geoff’s infidelities. As she struggles to fight for her family, her friend Bryan (Paulo Avelino) offers to heal her emotional wounds with the promise of being the lover that she truly deserves.

In the film, Panganiban tries to keep the family together despite her husband’s infidelity. However, the movie also presents the reality that women are also capable of committing the same sin.  Here lies Avelino’s role as a man who offers Panganiban a new chance at happiness and the proposition of being that man she truly deserves.

Dubbed as “The Magic is Everywhere”, this year’s GFM starts off the celebrations with a ceremonial tree-lighting event at The Plaza in Newport Mall on November 17. The vent heralds a string of special events and family offerings that include topnotch performances at the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater featuring the classic dance hits of ‘70s Filipino icons in Yugyugan Nation! on November 23, soft rock hall-of-famers Air Supply on December 8, and hit children’s television show “Hi-5 Fairy Tale of Australia on December 16 to 18. World-class entertainment continues at Bar 360 and Bar 180 featuring PRIMO’s variety show I Heart Pinoy and the Singing Sensations’ Spices of Love shows with international acrobats Duo Golovin plus the hottest bands and soloists in the metro.

The novelty of GFM among Filipinos is also evident by guest numbers who attend the annual Simbang Gabi, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day masses. Free concerts top-billed by the hottest acts in the music scene are also held at The Plaza for free during Christmas Day as RWM’s very own gift to its guests who annually celebrate the holiday at the country’s premier lifestyle hub.

Capping off this year’s magical five-week festivities is the biggest New Year’s Eve spectacle in the city, the Grand Countdown to 2017 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. The largest ballroom in the country, MGB is the perfect place for such world-class events as the Grand Countdown

Certified Box-Office Hit! FANTASTIC BEASTS Earns P126.42-Million in its First Opening Weekend in the Philippines

Magical creatures, new heroes to root for and a jaw-dropping big reveal lured audiences back  to a new era of magic.

The wizarding world of Harry Potter triumphantly returned to Philippine cinemas as Warner Bros.’ “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opened at No.1 with a spellbinding P126.42-million in only four days for the Nov. 17-20 frame.  This was announced today by Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. Philippines.

The Harry Potter spinoff posted the Biggest November Opening Weekend for a Warner Bros. Film All-Time surpassing             2005’s “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s” P105-million bow.

The solid opening of “Fantastic Beasts” has launched a new franchise for Warner, justifying an expansion of the series into five films.  Reviews are generally positive.

In the U.S., “Fantastic Beasts” debuted to a boisterous $75 million, and likewise got off to a roaring start at the international box office, taking in $143.3 million for a global total of $218.3 million.

Next weekend will see big launches in the key markets of China and Japan. A projection towards the $800M mark seems possible if it holds up moderately well in coming weeks.

Back in the Philippines, top-grossing cinemas are led by SM Megamall (P5.56-M), SM Mall of Asia (P5.28-M) and SM North EDSA (P4.99-M).

They are followed by Trinoma (P4.22-M), Power Plant (P3.34-M), Greenbelt 3 (P3.17-M), Glorietta 4 (P2.44-M), SM Cebu (P2.33-M), Alabang Town Center (P2.23-M) and Shang Cineplex (P2.20-M).

Performing significantly well are Ayala Cebu (P2.13-M), Greenhills Theatremall (P2.08-M), SM Ilo-ilo (P2.06-M), SM Aura (P2.04-M), Gateway (P1.96-M), U.P. Town Center (P1.94-M), Uptown (P1.91-M), Bonifacio High Street (P1.87-M), Eastwood (P1.79-M) and SM Bacolod (P1.59-M) .

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” takes us to a new era of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away.

Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything,” “The Danish Girl”) stars in the central role of Magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident … were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is now playing nationwide in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX, and is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Mig Ayesa and FWD Life Philippines Partner to Kick-Start Passion Revolution in the Philipines

FWD Life, Philippines'  fastest-growing life insurance company, kick-starts a passion revolution and partners with Filipino-Australian rock singer/composer/actor/endorser Mig Ayesa who wrote and composed the brand's lifestyle anthem entitled “Fill My Cup” about resilience and optimistically taking on life’s challenges and future uncertainties by just living life to the fullest.

Filipinos are musical people. We express ourselves through music and lyrics. And we thought what better way to communicate how we, as a brand, embody the Filipino spirit - their love of life, their resilience, their optimism. “Fill My Cup” really captures the very essence of FWD’s philosophy of celebrating life and living life to the fullest. It’s such a feel-good and positive song and we hope it motivates Filipinos to live life to the fullest and always pursue their passions. When they do, FWD Life has their backs,” said Roche Vandenberghe, FWD Life Philippines’ Head of Marketing.

Fill My Cup is my own personal soundtrack as it echoes my take on life and how I look at opportunities and challenges. It’s all about following your passions, “filling” up life with everything you can and never giving up. There are so many amazing things to see and to do in this world and we shouldn’t let our uncertainties and fears stop us. And that’s exactly what FWD wants to tell everyone - that they will be there to back you up, just in case something goes wrong. Remember, fortune favors the brave and FWD is there to help you be brave,” Mig shared.

The song was officially launched simultaneously on Tuesday, December 22, at radio stations Magic 89.9, KLite, and Jam 88.3.

Check out below Mig Ayesa's live performance during the launch:

To lead the charge toward inspiring and fueling Filipinos’ zest for life, FWD Life Philippines is donating P50 to the abandoned and orphaned children of Saint Rita Orphanage every time “Fill My Cup” is requested and played on the radio until December 31, 2016.
