KONG: SKULL ISLAND Unleashes Rip-Roaring Adventure in New Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have just released the official final trailer for "Kong: Skull Island" which may be viewed at

"Kong: Skull Island" reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts ("The Kings of Summer").

In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific – as beautiful as it is treacherous – unaware that they're crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

"Kong: Skull Island" stars Tom Hiddleston ("The Avengers," "Thor: The Dark World"), Samuel L. Jackson ("The Hateful Eight," "Avengers: Age of Ultron"), Oscar winner Brie Larson ("Room," "Trainwreck"), John Goodman ("Transformers: Age of Extinction," "Argo") and John C. Reilly ("Guardians of the Galaxy," "Step Brothers"). The international ensemble cast also includes Tian Jing ("Police Story: Lockdown"), Corey Hawkins ("Straight Outta Compton"), Jason Mitchell ("Straight Outta Compton"), John Ortiz ("Steve Jobs"), Thomas Mann ("Beautiful Creatures"), Shea Whigham ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), Toby Kebbell ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes") and Eugene Cordero ("The Kings of Summer").

Vogt-Roberts is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Derek Connolly. "Kong: Skull Island" is produced by Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni with Mary Parent. The executive producers are Eric McLeod and Alex Garcia.

To fully immerse audiences in the mysterious Skull Island, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and his cast and filmmaking team filmed across three continents over six months, capturing its primordial landscapes on Oahu, Hawaii – where filming commenced on October 2015 – on Australia's Gold Coast, and finally in Vietnam, where filming will took place across multiple locations, some of which have never before been seen on film.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present a Legendary Pictures Production, "Kong: Skull Island." The film will be released in the Philippines in 2D, 3D in select theatres, and IMAX beginning March 9, 2017, from Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Enchong Dee Releases 10th Anniversary Album Called EDM (Enchong Dee Moves)

After launching his musical career with a platinum-selling self-titled debut album, Enchong Dee is back with his most personal project to date via his second album "EDM (Enchong Dee Moves)" released by Star Music.

"EDM," which Enchong says is his gift to his fans for his 10th anniversary in showbiz, also marks Enchong's foray into electronic dance music.

"I want to give out a part of me to my audience that they can take home or drive around with. It's also a gift for the continuous support my fans gave me for the past decade. This album is really personal, more than any of my projects," said Enchong.

The album contains ten tracks, including carrier singles "Telenobela" and "'Di Ko Alam," as well as "Hopia," Enchong's personal composition.

"'Hopia' was inspired by a friend while we were driving, and I finished writing it in 30 minutes. There are so many love hopefuls, and this is for them – a tribute to people who constantly wish for a trusting, caring, and loving relationship with someone they like. So I wrote it for them," he explained.

The album is mainly composed of love songs, such as the fun-laced "Oo Gusto Kita," "Crush," "Sa Huli," as well as the tender and pleading "Hanggang Dito Na Lang."

However, Enchong also encourages listeners to get up and dance with the song "Tara Pagpawisan."

Completing the track list are "Crush (Theo Remix)," which features a rap part by Hashtags member and "PBB 737" Teen Big Winner Jimboy Martin, and "Hopia (Theo Remix" featuring Bebe Riz BFe Wbh.

SOCO Celebrates 11 Years of Bringing Justice to Filipino Families

dont-miss-the-anniversary-episodes-of-soco-scene-of-the-crime-operativesFor Filipinos, the safety and security of their loved ones is a top priority. When these are compromised because of the evil doings of other people, expect them to do their best to bring justice to their family members.

For 11 years, the ABS-CBN current affairs program "SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives" has taken part in seeking and attaining justice for Filipinos families. Through bringing to life the stories behind the crimes, the show has helped parents, daughters, sons, wives, husbands, and relatives move on, while also educating the general public on how to prevent crime from happening to their own loved ones.

Leading the way in this crusade for justice is SOCO anchor Gus Abelgas, an icon in crime news reporting in the Philippines.

"Crimes happen 24/7, walang oras na pinipili. At first, we just did this to inform the public, but as time went on, people eventually started coming to me in the program, asking for help, and I find out that they are cold cases, so I said, why not?" said Abelgas, who also shared that the program has helped convict several criminals.

"The legacy of "SOCO" is having these criminals confess to us, giving the courts evidence to pursue the closure of these cold cases and bring justice to those who deserve it," he said.

In the program's anniversary month this November, Abelgas uses his decades of experience to present four stories of crime that will open the eyes and mind of Filipinos to the threats and dangers in the society.

This Saturday (November 19), the program tackles a bus hostage situation in 2011, wherein policeman SPO1 Eduard Santiago risked his life to avert the crisis and save the innocent. On November 26, "SOCO" revisits a 2002 jewelry shop heist that was perpetuated by 13 suspects who claimed to be part of military, and which ended in a bloody shootout.

The program also featured the 1999 explosion in a dance event in Albay that took the lives of many people, and the case of a 8-year-old girl that was raped in the cemetery, earlier this month.

A first of its kind TV program based on real-life police investigation, "SOCO" has also proven to be able to evolve with the changing demands and tastes of the viewers. It's current docu-drama format was an instant hit when it first came out years ago, and it has forced competing programs to adjust.  Its consistent high rating on its timeslot and the numerous awards it has received are also indication of the support and appreciation of Filipinos for the long-running show.

Abelgas credits the program's longevity to the passion of the people working behind-the-scenes. Together with him, they also hold a series of crime prevention seminars in the hope of helping Filipinos protect their families; and "SOCOFEST," where they share their experiences and knowledge to mass communication students.

"Each individual on the "SOCO" team strives to dig through the details of each case that we tackle, exerting our collective efforts to try and help these grieving and hurting families stand up and pursue justice in the memory of their lost loved ones. We tell the story of the crime and we make sure that, in the service of the Filipino family, we will ensure that we will not tire of this crusade," Abelgas said.

Catch "SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives" hosted by Gus Abelgas every Saturday after "Ipaglaban Mo" on ABS-CBN. You may also watch it on

Oscar-Winner Robert Zemecjis Takes the Helm for ALLIED

From Oscar® winner Robert Zemeckis, the innovative director behind Forrest Gump, Cast Away and Flight, comes Allied, at once a mesmerizing espionage thriller, sweeping war drama and passionate romance between two assassins who may be fated soulmates or deadly enemies – or both.

In a sumptuous, visually evocative production that roams from Casablanca to London's Blitz days to German-occupied France, Zemeckis creates the kind of grand tale that flourished in Golden Hollywood – full of mystery, thrills and romantic heat – yet told with all the richly immersive power of 21st Century cinema.

For secret World War II operatives Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) and Marianne Beauséjour (Marion Cotillard), the key to survival is never being truly known by anyone. They are experts in deception, play-acting, second-guessing and assassination. When they accidentally fall for each other in the middle of an extraordinarily risky mission, their one hope is to leave all the double-dealing behind – but instead, suspicion and danger become the core of their wartime marriage as husband-and-wife are pitted against each other in an escalating, potentially lethal test of loyalty, identity and love…with global consequences.

Zemeckis's long and varied career has been marked by both visual innovations and cultural influence, with films ranging from the seminal Back To The Future series to the comic special-effects fantasy Death Becomes Her to the historical adventures of Forrest Gump to the recent The Walk, which recreated the extraordinary tightrope journey between New York's former World Trade Center towers. But Zemeckis has equally been associated with films that are about the raw power of storytelling as in Cast Away, the story of one shipwrecked man reckoning with his life, or Flight, which excavated a heroic pilot's inner battle with alcoholism.

And yet, for all the wide span of stories Zemeckis has explored, he'd yet to tackle the genre of the period romance. Nor had he brought his visual style to the evocative landscapes of WWII -- and both called to him as a filmmaker. He was drawn to Allied at once as an absorbing mystery, a web of deception, a fresh look at survival in WWII and a love story of unusual depth and power that becomes about lasting honor. Above all, he saw a film full of visual potential that could match the story's themes.

Says Zemeckis: "The screenplay had a sweeping, epic, romantic feel. The thing I most love to do as a director is to move audiences -- and when you have a story as powerful as this one, and with so many emotional twists and turns, you have immense opportunities to do that. This type of story is perfect for a filmmaker like myself because I like to make audiences really feel and use all the tools as my disposal to do that."

Zemeckis saw the story as one that asks questions we all ask of loved ones – Do I really know you? Can I trust you completely? Will you betray me? How far would you go to save what we have? -- but these same questions take on a deadly, mounting ferocity within the high-wire world of WWII spies.

"Allied is absolutely a story of betrayal and that's the universal theme of this film: how we react when we start to think someone we love isn't who they say they are," Zemeckis comments. "It's something that happens in life, but in the realm of Max and Marianne, you have two people already pretending to be someone else from the get-go and the truth is elusive to them. So how do you establish trust? And how can you even talk to your loved one if you believe the enemy is listening in on you?"

"I especially loved how the screenplay really evoked the feeling of war-torn London," Zemeckis says. "London was being bombed nightly but despite that, the people carried on with the life of the city. That was even their slogan: carry on. So that was something I wanted to capture in this: a world where the machinery of war is always there in the background – and sometimes in the foreground – yet people are living with a kind of total abandon because they realize that life could end at any moment. There was a kind of fatalistic quality both to the way people behaved and the way that London looked in that time. That really interested me – and that's what I wanted to created both in the atmosphere of the film and its design. It's a world where people are trying to defy death at every turn, including Max and Marianne, whose love develops in danger and cannot escape it even when they marry."

Opening across the Philippines on November 23, Allied is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Lucasfilms Releases the First Star Wars Standalone Film Called ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY

Lucasfilm presents "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the first in a new series of Star Wars standalone films set in the universe fans know and love, but featuring new characters and storylines.

When Lucasfilm president and Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy first sat down with George Lucas as he outlined his plans to continue with the Star Wars saga and to make Episodes VII, VIII and IX, he also revealed another ambition: "George decided he was going to make more saga films, but he said he felt there was also an opportunity to tell more stories inside the universe," explains Kennedy, "and to make films not related to the Luke Skywalker story."

And so was born the idea of creating films that would complement the new saga films, but also allow Kennedy and the Lucasfilm team to explore the universe and experiment with different styles and different ways of telling stories.

"Rogue One" tells the story of a group of unlikely heroes, who in a time of conflict band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is directed by Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla," "Monsters") and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur ("The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "Cinderella") and Simon Emanuel ("The Dark Knight Rises," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1&2"). Veteran ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll ("Pirates of the Caribbean"), who shares a long history with the Star Wars films, is executive producer alongside Jason McGatlin (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, "The War of the Worlds").

Academy® and BAFTA Award nominee Felicity Jones ("The Theory of Everything") heads up the cast and stars opposite Diego Luna ("Milk," "Elysium"). Joining them are Ben Mendelsohn ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Mads Mikkelsen ("Doctor Strange"), Alan Tudyk ("Frozen," "I Robot"), Riz Ahmed ("Jason Bourne") and Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker ("The Last King of Scotland"). The film also welcomes two of China's biggest stars, Donnie Yen ("Ip Man," "Blade II") and Jiang Wen ("Let the Bullets Fly," "The Sun Also Rises").

To create the distinctive and contemporary look of the film, Edwards chose revered cinematographer Greig Fraser ("Zero Dark Thirty") who teams with Academy Award®–winning special effects supervisor Neil Corbould ("Black Hawk Down"). Star Wars veteran Doug Chiang (Star Wars Episodes I and II, "Forrest Gump") and Neil Lamont (supervising art director on The Force Awakens and the "Harry Potter" film series) join forces as production designers, and Neal Scanlan ("Prometheus") returns as creature effects supervisor having recently won a BAFTA for his work on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Additional key crew include costume designers Dave Crossman (costume supervisor on The Force Awakens and the "Harry Potter" film series) and Glyn Dillon (The Force Awakens and "Kingsman: The Secret Service" costume concept artist), as well as stunt coordinator Rob Inch (The Force Awakens, "World War Z").

Opening across the Philippines on December 15, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

ABS-CBN, Ugat Foundation and TFC Launch Bayaning Pilipino Awards in South Korea and North America

ABS-CBN Corporation, UGAT Foundation and The Filipino Channel (TFC) take the search for modern-day heroes to even greater heights as they launch the Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Global Bayaning Pilipino Awards in new regions and open the search to the younger generation of Filipinos.

Inspired by a Filipina domestic helper who died saving her ward in Hong Kong in 1994, the Bayaning Pilipino Awards was envisioned by ABS-CBN Corporation Chairman Emeritus Eugenio "Kapitan" Lopez Jr. and then propagated by Ugat Foundation.

Since then, it has evolved into a recognition for ordinary Filipinos performing extraordinary acts in Asia to North America, with the support of TFC, for the searches outside the homeland.

Believing that heroism runs in the Filipino blood wherever they are in the world, Bayaning Pilipino continues its search for notable Filipino organizations (Global Bayaning Pilipino) who have mounted a project that has been fulfilled, anchoring on the Filipino's sense of bayanihan spiritand have made a measurable impact in a community in the Philippines.

Knowing that Filipinos can start young, the search has been extended, this time to the new generation via Bayaning Kabataang Pilipino which looks for Filipino youth heroes who have organized these kinds of community projects while exemplifying Filipino values, promoting our culture and heritage, encouraging participation, focusing on service, and transcending regionalism.
Another notable development is the launch of the Bayaning Pilipino Awards in South Korea where Filipinos and organizations can nominate an individual of Filipino ancestry, with active community membership and who exemplifies the values of service, industry, dedication to public service and positivity.

Let us etch their stories of heroism. Share their stories. For complete information, visit

Nominations can also be sent here and at (search for GAWAD GENY LOPEZ BAYANING PILIPINO AWARDS) or via

Billy Crawford Arrested, Detained in Hong Kong Because of Coleen Garcia

Was he arrested, detained in Hong Kong and later deported to Manila?

International recording star and Kapamilya actor/host Billy Crawford, during the press conference of his latest international reality series called "The Ultimate Brocation" which will be shown on cable channel Kix starting December 14, clarified earlier reports that he was arrested and had to spend a night detained at a police station in Hong Kong after punching a man who groped his girlfriend Coleen Garcia during a Halloween party held at a bar in Hong Kong's Harbour City last October 31.

He was quoted saying:
"I had to protect Coleen. Kababaeng tao, ayaw ko naman mabastos siya. Pero hindi ako nakipagaway, hindi ako nanuntok, hindi ako nasuntok. But was a verbal altercation between someone there and me dahil nabastos si Coleen.

"Hindi po ako nakulong. Kasi kung nakulong ako, hindi ako makakabalik sa Pilipinas. I'd be deported to the United States kase I'm an American citizen.
"Good thing, iyong medyo shungang tao na nambastos kay Coleen ay ginawa niya sa harapan ng pulis. So nakita ng pulis.
"The thing about the Hong Kong police is that they're very, very strict. Kahit iyong pinakamaliit na magsigawan kayo sa street, puwede kang i-question or i-hold for statements.

"As in masuwerte na lang kami and the police were there, and sila iyong nag-handle ng situation, which was the proper way of doing it. And if it's done in another country, you have to abide and respect the rules of that country so we were just complying."

Kris Aquino Hits Back at President Rodrigo Duterte

Kris Aquino’s supposed first sit down interview with President Rodrigo Duterte last November 11  at the National Micro, Small, and Medium Entrepreneurs’ (MSME) Summit 2016 in Davao City didn’t push through when he cancelled at the last minute saying he had a migraine.

The former Kapamilya star who transferred to PTV4 and TV5 after her supposed transfer to GMA Network was allegedly blocked by a high profile Kapuso executive, was touched when the netizens lauded her decision to push through with the event and go on with her interview with the businessmen present at the event.

“Humble & realistic enough to admit it was an epic snub- but learning so much from @beyonce. #Lemonade 🍋#GoNegosyo2016AngatLahat (P.S. To all of you: my family, friends, and compassionate netizens- group hug tayo? Thank you for showing me love & appreciation. ❤️),” she wrote on Instagram as a caption to the photo that says "If life gives you lemon, make lemonade."

Kris admitted that upon learning the president couldn’t make it, she asked for advice from her brother, former president Noynoy Aquino.

Nagtanong po ako sa Kuya ko kung dapat kong ituloy, tumawag po ako at sinabi ko ‘Noy, I’m alone’ sabi ko sa kanya, ‘What do I do?’ sabi niya ‘You made a commitment, nandiyan ka for Go Negosyo, nandiyan ka because you believed in the Philippine economy at nandiyan ka because you want everybody to be included in the growth of our economy.’”

Ganoon po ang nangyayari talaga sa trabaho namin minsan ‘yung co-star mo nagkakasakit,” she added.

Kris also asked for President Rodrigo for a chance.

Hindi ko rin po alam kung dahil sa mga sitwasyon na nangyari sa ngayong linggo kaya ini-snob ako pero President Duterte, please give me a chance. I hope one day mamahalin mo rin ako,” she said.
