(Movie Poster) Tarzan, Jane One with the Apes in 'The Legend of Tarzan'

Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgard) and his wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) join the ranks of the mighty apes in the newly released main one-sheet for “The Legend of Tarzan.”

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures comes the action adventure “The Legend of Tarzan,” starring Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”) as the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

The film also stars Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (the “Captain America” films), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” upcoming “Suicide Squad”), Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Gladiator”), with Oscar winner Jim Broadbent (“Iris”), and two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz (“Django Unchained”).

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side.  Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz).  But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

David Yates (the final four “Harry Potter” films, upcoming “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) directed “The Legend of Tarzan” from a screenplay by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer, story by Brewer and Cozad based on the Tarzan stories created by Burroughs.

Slated for release across the Philippines on June 30, “The Legend of Tarzan” will be distributed in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

How to Battle the Big 'C'? Experts Have the Answers #PowerOverCervicalCancert

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) furthers its advocacy to increase cervical cancer awareness efforts in the Philippines by launching the purple-themed “You Can & You Will” campaign in time with the commeration of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.

The campaign, which was officially launched on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Fairmont Makati, aims to encourage Filipinas to realize that they have the power to protect themselves and their dreams simply by consulting their doctors and asking about ways to prevent cervical cancer.

GSK Medical Affairs Manager Dr. Lea Manio revealed that the estimated financial cost of preventing cervical cancer through screening and vaccination could be 20 times more affordable than the cost of treatment.

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Getting cancer may be a distant concept for women who are well and at their prime, but they should be aware that even the healthiest can be at risk. The power to protect yourself from cervical cancer is in your hands, and NOW is the best time to consult with your physician and have yourself screened,” she stated.

Several doctors also graced the event to give a professional/scientific perspective on cervical cancer. Here are the facts every Filipino women should know:
  • Persistent infection with the cancer-causing HPV type is the necessary cause of cervical cancer. Persistent HPV infection together with the presence of any of the identified risk factors (i.e., smoking, early first sexual intercourse, multiple sex partners, have given birth for multiple times, long term use of oral contraceptives, and weakened immune system or presence of HIV) increases the chance of a female to develop cervical cancer.
  • Sexual intercourse is the primary route of transmission of genital HPV infection, but penetrative sex is not required for transmission. The HPV virus may be passed on from one person to another through direct genital skin to genital skin contact during sexual activity.
  • Cervical cancer has no signs and symptoms in its early stages. It the event that symptoms will occur, the following may be expected: irregular bleeding between periods or abnormal vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse, back, leg, or pelvic pain, fatigue, wight loss, loss of appetite, vaginal discomfort or odorous discharge, and a single swollen leg. There may be other conditions that would present with vaginal bleeding, hence it is best to consult a doctor when any of these symptoms appear.
  • The HPV vaccine is recommended for females 9 years old and above. For females 15 years old and above, the schedule is 0,1,6 months.
  • The price of the HPV vaccine may vary depending on the access points – hospital, doctor, government, and other healthcare institutions. It is best for the patients to consult with their doctor.
  • There is value in vaccinating males with the HPV vaccine with the objective of protecting them against diseases caused by HPV such as anal and penile cancer. There is no robust data supporting the administration of the vaccine to males will prevent transmission of the HPV to females.

To know more about cervical cancer, visit the Power Over Cervical Cancer Page on Facebook ( and the Pangarap Mo, Protektado page on Youtube ( containing information and short films conveying how protecting oneself against vaccine-preventable diseases is one important step in the achievement of one’s dreams.

Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco Separation, The Truth Behind

Melai Cantiveros' marriage with Jason Francisco is allegedly on the rocks, according to a source of television host Boy Abunda.

"Mayroon daw talagang problema," Abunda said in an episode of his late night ABS-CBN show "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Friday.

Abunda also cited a tabloid article claiming to have seen Cantiveros breaking down in tears at the set of her morning talk show, "Magandang Buhay."

Francisco has since denied the rumors. He also downplayed suggestions that the two have decided to call it quits following a series of cryptic posts on his joint Instagram account with Cantiveros. One post had the caption: "Melason is over."

Fans also feared the worst for the couple's relationship after the joint Instagram account changed its name into "Melai Cantiveros" from "MrandMrsFrancisco." Some also noticed that the photos featuring Francisco were deleted from the page.

"Nawala iyong account namin. Na-hack," Francisco said in an interview aired on Abunda's late night talk show.

The aforementioned Instagram account has since been taken down. Cantiveros and Francisco appeared to have created a new page with a message that read: "Hi Melasons. Ito po muna IG account namin. Sana mabawi pa namin yung dating account."

On their verified Facebook page with more than 6 million followers, the couple posted a photo of them with their child, Amelia Lucille. "Melason is FOREVER, not OVER. Okay?" the caption read.

Cantiveros and Francisco tied the knot in 2013. The two met inside the "Pinoy Big Brother" house during the 2009 season of the hit reality television show. -

(Video) Top 8 #BeastMode Moments in ‘Tubig at Langis’

What happens when you put together an MMA-fighter-in-the-making legal wife, a “pa-sweet” feeling legal wife barrio lass, a mean sister-in-law with a resting bitch face, and a tall, dark, and handsome man whose moment of weakness created one whole afternoon teleserye? Well you got all the answers in ABS-CBN’s hit afternoon series “Tubig at Langis.”

Check out these talked about scenes in this list of Top Eight “Beastmode” Moments in “Tubig at Langis”

KAPAG KINAUSAP NG MAAYOS, SUMAGOT NG MAAYOS. WAG BARUBAL! (Irene VS Lucy Round 1). Sakal is the new sampal noh Irene? Buti hindi ka nasabuyan ng tinolang manok Lucy! (go to 2:04 for the intense action!)

DEDMA O DEAD KA? (Irene VS Lucy Round 2). Wag kasing epal Lucy! Ayan ka na naman e. Di ka na natuto.

SINO ANG TUNAY NA MAY PASABOG? (Irene VS Lucy Round 3). Hala sige. Iba rin ang fighting spirit mo Lucy. Push mo yan #PrayForLucy

MAG-INGAT SA SUPERMARKET, NAKAMAMATAY (Irene VS Clara Round 1).

FROM AGAWAN NG ASAWA, TO AGAWAN NG ANAK (Irene VS Clara Round 3).

Good job Natoy!

International Film Critics Question Jacklyn Jose's Best Actress Award at 69th Cannes Festival

It looks like not everyone is happy with Jacklyn Jose's bigtime achievement at the recently concluded 69th Cannes Film Festival in France.

According to an article by Indie Wire, several critics disagreed with the Filipina actress’ win since they felt that her character in “Ma’ Rosa” was just a supporting role.

But the festival's jury members were quick to refute this and defended their decision to name Jacklyn as this year’s best actress winner for her performance in the Brillante Mendoza film “Ma’ Rosa.”
But jury member, veteran Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland, was quick to refute this.

The critics were wrong. It's a big-time leading role,” jury member and veteran Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland said.

This was echoed by fellow jury member Arnaud Desplechin, who said Jose “is the film” and "she broke my heart."

Aside from Sutherland and Desplechin, the other members of the jury were George Miller, Kirsten Dunst, Valeria Golino, Mads Mikkelsen, Laszuo Nemes, Vanessa Paradis and Katayoon Shahabi.

Among those she was up against were Hollywood stars Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart and French actresses Isabelle Hupert and Marion Cotillard.

During the photo call of the movie “Ma’ Rosa,” the veteran actress told ABS-CBN News that she was not expecting to win since it was already a dream come true to be back in Cannes with her daughter, actress Andi Eigenmann, who also plays her daughter in the movie.

"I dreamt of this, that someday I'm coming back with my daughter…Hindi pa siya artista noon,” she said. - ABS-CBNNews

'Finding Nemo' Filmmakers Dive Again in 'Finding Dory'

Story is king at Pixar Animation Studios. Whether a film introduces new characters or revisits old friends, it all starts with a story that needs to be told. And this special practice is also true with the production of "Finding Dory."

Watch the main trailer of "Finding Dory" at

While the conclusion of the 2003 Oscar®-winning film "Finding Nemo" left filmmakers and fans perfectly satisfied—there was something that lingered in the depths of director Andrew Stanton's mind, though it didn't surface until a few years ago. "I realized that I was worried about Dory," he says. "The idea of her short-term memory loss and how it affected her was unresolved. What if she got lost again? Would she be OK?"

Adds producer Lindsey Collins, "Dory seems so happy, but she was never really grounded until she met Marlin. Their happenstance meeting and subsequent friendship marked the first time since she was a kid that she had a family."

Family is a key theme in "Finding Dory." "We learn when we first meet Dory that she can't remember where she's from," says Stanton. "But she must have a family. As she said, 'Where are they?' - Her confusion got a laugh, but there's a sad truth to that. I knew there was a story worth telling."

According to Stanton, the story crew initially showcased Dory as lighthearted, bubbly and funny—attributes that certainly apply to the character, but left her lacking depth. "She seemed a little two-dimensional," says the director. "I realized that even though I had her full backstory in my head, nobody else did—including the audience. Everyone walked away from 'Nemo' with fond memories of how funny she is. But I always saw that as a mask. I realized we'd have to fill in the audience about what happened to her when she was young."

The story picks up a year after Dory and Marlin journeyed across the ocean to find Nemo. A massive stingray migration cruises through their neighborhood, triggering Dory's memory. "The experience is viscerally similar to an event that separated her from her parents so long ago," says Stanton. "She's flooded with memories and suddenly very motivated to track down her family."

In an effort to maintain Dory's drive to find her family, filmmakers had to first understand her memory issues. Says Collins, "While Dory forgets details in her day-to-day life—like Nemo's name—her emotional memory is fine—she knows she loves Nemo and Marlin. And the love she has for her parents has been with her all along."

According to co-director Angus MacLane, the memory flash marks the beginning of a new adventure. "It kicks off a quest—both internally and externally—to try to find her family," he says. "But Dory feels that she can't do it on her own, so she talks her newfound family—Marlin and Nemo—into coming along."

"Finding Dory" features an all-star voice cast, welcoming Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks back to the sea as favorite fish Dory and Marlin. Ed O'Neill lends his voice to "septopus" Hank, Kaitlin Olson voices whale shark Destiny, and Ty Burrell gives voice to beluga whale Bailey. Portraying Dory's parents Charlie and Jenny are Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. And 12-year-old Hayden Rolence steps in to help bring Nemo to life.

Directed by Stanton ("Finding Nemo," "WALL•E") and co-directed by Angus MacLane ("Toy Story OF TERROR!"), the film is produced by Collins (co-producer "WALL•E") and executive produced by John Lasseter. With music by veteran composer and long-time Stanton collaborator Thomas Newman ("Bridge of Spies," "WALL•E," "Finding Nemo"), Disney•Pixar's "Finding Dory" swims into Philippine theaters June 15, 2016.

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart Unlikely Friends, Accidental Partner in 'Central Intelligence'

Pairing Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart as unlikely former high school friends, and even unlikelier spy-busting, world-saving, accidental partners on the run, Universal Pictures' "Central Intelligence" offers a fun and fast-paced mash-up of comedy and explosive action.

Opening across the Philippines on June 15, "Central Intelligence" follows a one-time bullied geek who grew up to be a lethal CIA agent (Johnson), coming home for his high-school reunion. Claiming to be on a top-secret case, he enlists the help of the former "big man on campus" (Hart), now an accountant who misses his glory days. But before the staid numbers-cruncher realizes what he's getting into, it's too late to get out, as his increasingly unpredictable new friend drags him through a world of shoot-outs, double-crosses and espionage that could get them both killed in more ways than he can count.

The movie also plays on a reversal of expectations – both for its main characters and the actors who bring them to life.

"What really caught my attention and appealed to me was the idea of taking this premise and flipping it on its ear," says Johnson, "putting me in more of the comedy role and putting Kevin, one of the world's most successful comedians, a guy who's just on fire, in more of the straight role. So we're both thrown into a scenario where we have to stretch and work some different muscles, and then somewhere it all intersects and we meet in the middle."

"I'm pretty much the straight man in this film and Dwayne carries the comedy load, which we thought would be refreshing and fun, and something different," adds Hart. "Plus, you still get the Dwayne everyone loves to see, the guy who can beat the living s**t out of people. But the combination of DJ and myself, that's where we win. The energy is amazing."

It's that, and their unbeatable chemistry that makes "Central Intelligence" such a ride.

Rawson Marshall Thurber, a successful comedy director marking his first foray into the action realm, declares, "My advice to anybody who is going to make an action comedy for the first time would be to put Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in it, because it will make your job a lot easier. Get the funniest guy and the biggest action star in the world and put them together."

Referencing the stars' 12-inch height differential as an ongoing visual punch line, Thurber recalls their first meeting prior to production. "They may be different shapes and sizes but they're cut from the same cloth. Seeing them sitting across the table from each other or standing side by side, I mean, it's just a layup. They're so great together, so charismatic as individuals and as a team, and so much alike in their generosity and the way they take the work seriously but don't take themselves so seriously. That level of chemistry isn't a function of directing, or writing, even with the best scenarios and situations; it's pixie dust. It's something you cross your fingers and hope to get."

Thurber also wrote the film's screenplay, with Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen.

"Rawson really understands tone and timing," Hart continues. "It's not just the rhythm of the action, it's how everything meshes. The segues are seamless, the writing is smart, and there were small moments that we were allowed to make big moments because we had a great cast to work with and Rawson gave us the room to play."

"Central Intelligence" is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

The hallmark of the TFC 20th Anniversary campaign was its station ID with the same title, featuring the performance of Mr. Pure EnergyGary Valenciano with his son, Gab Valenciano.  "Galing ng Filipino, Ituloy Mo" is a composition of Jonathan Manalo with additional lyrics from Integrated Marketing Communications Creative Director Jay Santiago and Global Marketing Head Pam Castillo and with musical arrangement from Gab.  The collaboration was key because it spoke of how the Filipino first and second generations can work together to communicate this greatness and propagate the Filipino heritage.

Aside from television, the campaign reached the overseas Filipino audience through its components that creatively conveyed the key traits that make the Filipino stand out:

heroism (tulong sa pagbangon); dauntlessness (pagpupunyagi); brilliance (talino); faith (pananampalataya); dependability (maasahan); pride (dangal); resilience (tatag ng loob); kindness (kabutihan); diligence (sipag); fun-loving (pagiging masiyahin); katapangan (courage); and love of family (pagmamahal sa pamilya).

These values were put into messages that were spread through TFC's platforms – from internet protocol television (IPTV), satellite, cable, mobile and online ( in key regions across the world – North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the rest of Asia, including engagements with the Filipino communities.

In July, the journey of TFC and the campaign reached new heights as Valenciano surprised passengers aboard a PAL flight to Manila with a musical performance, symbolizing how TFC indeed accompanies kababayans in their journey overseas, from departure to their homecoming.

The journey of the campaign took various routes as Valenciano spearheaded TFC's most well-known events in 2014: from the kick off of "ASAP 20" Live in Dubai in January to "ASAP 20" Live in Los Angeles in September, and to Filipino community events in London, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Guam and Singapore.

Other key components include the commemorative album that was given as a gift to new subscribers.  On top of these efforts, TFC also launched the Galing ng Filipino dance moves, encouraging all Filipinos to participate via dance.

In 2015, the campaign's inspiring message spun into the year's theme "Galing ng Filipino,"speaking to second generation Filipinos all over the world.

According to Kane Choa, president of the IABC, "Winning a Quill equates to the best standards of the communication industry. Passing the nomination alone means that the entries passed the acid test.  But winning an award, seals the entry's adherence to the standards of communication excellence."

Representing TFC in the 14th Quill Awards were Santiago and Customer Relations Management Head Allesandra dela Cruz – Benedicto.

This year, as it celebrates its 22nd year of service, TFC continues to pursue its mission to highlight the Filipino galing through its content and value-added services as it explores more ways to reach Filipinos worldwide.

'Born To Dance' Starring World Hip Hop Champ Tia-Taharoa Maipi Hits Cinemas on May 25

"Born To Dance," dance flick starring Stan WalkerKherington Payne and Parris Goebel, hits Philippine cinemas starting May 25.  Sharing the screen with these international talents is newcomer Royal Family member Tia-Taharoa Maipiin his big screen debut.

He plays Tu, an ambitious young man from an underprivileged Auckland suburb, dreams of being a professional hip-hop dancer. When his father, a Sergeant in the New Zealand Army, issues an ultimatum-find a purpose in life by the end of the summer or enlist - Tu decides that dance is his way out. After being offered a chance to try out for K-Crew, a prestigious international dance group, Tu must juggle the pressures of his grueling job, his demanding father and turn his back on his South Auckland crew. Things become further complicated when he falls for Sasha, the girlfriend of K-Crew's malicious leader, Kane. Tu is devastated when he learns that the whole audition process has been a scam to steal the best moves from dancers across Auckland and create animosity within the other teams. In a final stance, Tu will unite his old crew and his new friends, to battle their way into nationals and face K-Crew in the finals.

This was your first acting role, tell us about the experience?
This was my first time acting, the experience was challenging but exciting. It definitely pushed me past my boundaries and out of my comfort zone which is a good thing because that's where you grow. It was life changing.

How would you describe your character Tu and were you able to relate to him?
Tu is a young Maori boy who has a passion for dance, he loves it and all he wants to do is dance. I was able to relate to him a lot because we love the same thing - I first started off dancing. I'm a Maori boy and he's a Maori boy. There were times when I was reading the script where I would say to myself 'I remember this, this has happened to me before'. It was a good thing, but it could also be a bad thing with having too much similarities with the character because you kind of get too attached and used to yourself and turn into the character, so you just have to separate the differences.

What do you hope people will take away from the film, Born To Dance?
Mainly that if you chase your dreams, you can do it. I come from a small town and I never would have thought that I would be in a movie but if you commit to the work and chase your dreams, the outcome will be there.

You'll be used to the world stage as a member of The Royal Family (World Hiphop Champions) but what's it like seeing yourself on the big screen?
The first time I saw it was a couple of days ago, and it didn't feel too out of place — I have no idea why but I felt comfortable. Everyone did a great job and I enjoyed it. There was a few scenes where I had to look away but I overall enjoyed it.

How did you discover your passion for acting? It all started off with a dance audition where we were all auditioning for a dance role in the movie. A handful of us got picked to audition as a character. When I first heard there was acting roles, I wasn't too interested as acting wasn't at all in the picture of my life but I gave it a go and then I enjoyed it and felt comfortable. I was up against a lot of my friends and a lot of professional actors, so it was a privilege to get the call that I had got the role. It was all in fun going up against all my friends.

Who did you get along with best on set?
Everyone was great, from the costume crew to the camera crew to the makeup crew. Everyone was ultra-friendly and it was great to catch up with everyone at the screening earlier this week.

What was your favourite scene to film?
Definitely the finale scene where we all get together and dance, that was my highlight. When it comes to dance, I'm in my element and I'm more comfortable and ready to kill it. Some of my family came and had a taster of what I had been working on for a few months.

What's your ultimate career dream?
I still haven't decided yet but I'm definitely keen to keep on acting because I enjoy it. I'm going to see what the future holds.

What's coming up next? We're touring with Stan Walker in Australia later this year, currently training for that. I'm looking forward to it.

Released and distributed by CAPTIVE CINEMA, "Born To Dance"  opens in cinemas May 25.

Megan Fox Returns as April O'Neil in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Sequel

Known to worldwide audiences for her break-out starring role of Mikaela in the first two "Transformers" blockbusters, Megan Fox has successfully jumpstarted another beloved film franchise, the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Now, she reprises her lead character of April O'Neil in Paramount Pictures' "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" (in Philippine cinemas on June 01).

In the film, it's been almost a year since our heroes saved the city, and in keeping with their ninja training (and their unconventional appearance), they've maintained a low profile. Meanwhile, April O'Neil (Fox) has gone undercover, investigating Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry), a brilliant and respected scientist who may have ties to Shredder (Brian Tee).

"I think April always wanted to be the anchor behind the desk," muses producer Andrew Form. "But I don't know if she can give up the excitement of being on the street, breaking stories, and working with the Turtles. She loves her job, but she loves her relationship with the Turtles more. She's basically become the fifth Turtle," he says.

"The first movie focused on April's ambition," Fox says, "but in this film, her relationships with the Turtles and their survival as a family is her priority."

"Megan has developed an incredible connection with the guys who play the Turtles," director Dave Green observes. "Even when the cameras weren't rolling, they were always goofing around, laughing, playing games. They really are like her brothers."

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to Philippine cinemas this season in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O'Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell).

After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.

"Earth to Echo" filmmaker Dave Green directs from a script by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec. The producers are Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Galen Walker and Scott Mednick.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" is distributed in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
