"The controversial political advertisement being talked about in social media, which aired on ABS-CBN, was produced and paid for by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. Prior to the airing, ABS-CBN's ethics committee reviewed the content of the material, which complies with the requirements of pertinent election laws.
By airing the said commercial, ABS-CBN is being consistent with COMELEC guidelines, which prohibit radio or television stations to discriminate in the sale of air time against any political party or candidate. We are duty bound to air a legitimate ad."

VP Candidate Alan Peter Cayetano Files Preliminary Injunction Against ABS-CBN and its Top Executives
Cayetano filed a petition for preliminary injunction against ABS-CBN Corporation and its top executives before the Regional Trial Court of Taguig City. The respondents are ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III, Augusto Almeda-Lopez, Carlo L. Katigbak, Socorro Vidanes, and August Benitez.
Cayetano sought the TRO a day after ABS-CBN began airing the anti-Duterte ad paid for by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, which showed clips of Duterte cursing, uttering his controversial rape remark, and saying he is ready to kill. In between these clips, various children criticize Duterte for his behavior.
In his petition, which ultimately seeks a permanent injunction on the ad, Cayetano asked the court to issue a 72-day TRO on the airing of the ad.
Once the initial TRO lapses, he wants a 20-day TRO "enjoining and restraining respondents and all persons acting on their behalf or under their direction from airing or continuing to air negative political advertisements aimed to discredit" him and Duterte.
The vice presidential candidate said the Duterte camp first learned about the existence of the ad – initially uploaded on Youtube – on April 27, and the network's plan to air it.
He said that same day, Duterte through his lawyer, wrote ABS-CBN "a formal notice and demand to ban/or discontinue the broadcast of said negative advertisement on television and radio to prevent further abuse and exploitation of children and in the higher interest of preserving moral and ethical standards."
The senator said other media groups reportedly rejected the ad "for being contrary to the ethical code of the broadcasting industry."
He added that he and Duterte were "not given the right to reply to the negative ads," and that it would be impossible for the tandem to produce and air an ad to counter them as the last day to campaign is on Saturday, May 7.
Cayetano said the political advertisements "will undoubtedly cause irreparable damage and will work injustice" to their tandem and "the voting public."
He said that "even a cursory viewing of the subject advertisement would show the intention to injure the reputation, credit, and virtue" of their tandem "and expose them to public hatred, discredit, contempt, and ridicule without even giving them the right to reply."
In an interview with Rappler on Friday, Cayetano explained: "We want to do things legally. We want to take the legal course of action."
"It is most unfair to allow a negative ad two-3 days before the election and then to approve that ad and then not approve legitimate ads on our end. It will create irreparable damage to a candidate. If that is the case, if the networks and some political elites and economic elites can get together and destroy the candidacy of one candidate," he added. – Rappler.com

ABS-CBN Managing Director for Asia Pacific Ailene Averion said that the launch of TFC@theMovies in the country is TFC’s answer to the kababayans’ clamor for more homegrown content.
Averion shares: “When you are detached or away from the homeland, you seek for avenues that will let you experience how it is to be back home all over again. One of TFC’s answer to this clamor is TFC@theMovies and its offering of films, some of which try to capture their experiences, bring out the best in every Filipino and most importantly, impart valuable lessons.”
“Just The Three of Us” which will be screened simultaneously during the first two weeks of May, right after its Philippine screening, brings together three box office royalties in one movie: Blockbuster Director Cathy Garcia Molina, John Lloyd and Jennylyn Mercado in a modern day romantic comedy (romcom).
Scoring first after first, “Just The Three Of Us” continues to mark milestones by being the banner offering of TFC in Malaysia.
Just The Three Of Us which starts screening in the Philippines on May 4 and in Malaysia the same week, is directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, the director behind the highly successful movie hits such as the iconic “One More Chance and sequel “A Second Chance,” also starring John Lloyd and perennial love team Bea Alonzo.
John Lloyd on the other hand currently holds the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation Phenomenal Star for 2015 title because of the record-breaking results of “A Second Chance.”
While this is the nth time Direk Cathy and John Lloyd are collaborating, it is Jennylyn’s first movie under Star Cinema.
Jennylyn herself is a Box Office royalty as she has won back-to-back awards at the 2014 and 2015 MMFF for “English Only Please” and “Walang Forever.” She was also hailed as part of the Breakthrough Box Office Indie Film in the 2015 Box Office Awards.
Together, they tell the story of Uno (John Lloyd) and CJ (Mercado) who are complete strangers and opposites thrown into a situation that brings them together, albeit, forcibly. They are both equipped to handle their jobs as airline employees. Uno is an organized pilot who plans his life well and is considered a success. However,he only comes home to an empty nest. Meanwhile, being a flight stewardess is CJ’s dream so while she is a ground crew, she puts her heart to it. What happens next is not entirely part of Uno’s plans nor of CJ’s dreams.
“Just The Three of Us” will be screened May 8 at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Federal Cinema at no. 15 Lengkok Raja Laut, 50300 Kuala Lumpur. Joining John Lloyd is My Only Radio for Life (MOR) 101.9 DJ Cha Cha.

John Lloyd Cruz and Cathy Garcia Molina to Appear in 'Just The Three of Us' Europe and Middle East Screenings
John Lloyd Cruz and Direk Cathy will once again play key roles in TFC in Europe and Middle East’s theatrical service as the network brings “Just The Three Of Us,” ABS-CBN’s movie outfit and distribution company Star Cinema’s first movie to bring together the industry’s blockbuster icons in one movie: Direk Cathy, John Lloyd plus Jennylyn Mercado, screening in the Gulf Region starting May 5 and in Europe May 7 and 8.
The 2015 Guillermo Mendoza Foundation Awards Phenomenal Actor is proud to be part of this milestone. During the recently held virtual press con held among Filipino communities and members of the press in Middle East and Europe, John Lloyd shared: “Hindi ko nga napansin na apat na pelikula ang lumabas (since 2015). Especially sa panahon ngayon, especially sa Kapamilya network, talagang global ang reach. Malaking bagay na maraming sumusuporta maraming tumutulong sa mga Pinoy communities partikular sa ibang bansa, at dahil lahat iyan sa TFC.
“Just The Three Of Us” is not the first opportunity Direk Cathy and John Lloyd are working together but it is Jennylyn, 2015 MMFF Best Actress and Breakthrough Box Office Indie Film awardee’s first time not only to work in a Star Cinema movie but also with John Lloyd and Direk Cathy.
Working with John Lloyd also had its great perks for her. “Marami akong natutunan sa kanya. May side pala siyang nakakatawa at bentang-benta siya sa akin.”
Just The Three Of Us is about two completely opposite individuals who are thrown together in an uncanny opportunity for love.
John Lloyd says the differences in personalities is key in the movie. “Well sa akin that’s the real essence of love. That’s the strongest attraction,” the award-winning actor said.
Direk Cathy told the Filipino community and members of the press that this is not you’re your usual romance comedy. “Iniimbitahin po namin kayong i-try ang bagong putahe na ito na ino-offer namin sa inyo. We have made a lot of rom coms before but I think this one is different. There is something more than just rom com in this film. I hope you watch it so you know what I mean.”
The press conference did not only tackle the movie and the performances but also possibilities in terms of the career of the actors. The press conference turned light when the Filipino community asked the possibility of Jennylyn moving to ABS-CBN to which Jennylyn answered ‘Hindi pa.” John Lloyd did a rejoinder and emphasized the “pa” much to the audience’s amusement.
Just The Three of Us screens May 5 in the Gulf Region, May 7 in Germany, May 7 and 8 in France, United Kingdom, Scotland, Italy, Malta, Austria and Spain.

Zsa Zsa Padilla and Conrad Onglao Breakup - The Reason Behind: 'Masakit magsalita. He looks down on people!'
In his column on the Philippine Star published Thursday, entertainment editor Ricky Lo attempted to shed light on the split and learned that it may have been caused by Onglao's attitude towards celebrities and showbiz in general.
One of Lo's sources claimed that Padilla might have gotten "fed up" with Onglao's "hurtful" words aimed at those working at the entertainment industry. The source added that Padilla might have been surprised about Onglao's attitude given how "gentle" Dolphy was.
"Maybe she got fed up with Conrad’s attitude, especially towards showbiz people whom he looked down on. Masakit daw magsalita si Conrad. You know naman how sensitive Zsa Zsa is. Nasanay kay Dolphy who was very gentle," the source was quoted to have said.
According to Lo, Onglao did not know that Padilla was an actress when the two first met through veteran actress Sharon Cuneta. He also claimed that Onglao was uncomfortable with the attention of being in a relationship with a celebrity.
Another source of Lo said that it was Padilla who pulled the plug on the relationship and that her marriage was originally scheduled for June. "And then they moved it to December this year," the source said.
"And then the break-up. They were so in love. At least that was how they seemed to me so I'm sad for Zsa Zsa, I'm sad for Conrad. I really thought that they would end happily ever after together. I thought that he has found his ‘forever," the source added.
Padilla and Onglao's split was confirmed on Tuesday by her daughter, Karylle. The "It's Showtime" host has refused to reveal more details about the break-up, but had asked for prayers for her mother.
"Siyempre kapag may malungkot na balita naman talaga eh hindi ako plastik para sabihing 'di ako nalulungkot, totoo naman nalulungkot ako. I'm just thankful dahil ngayong araw na ito ay ang dami kong na-receive na support, messages, consoling para sa mama ko. So thank you," she said.
According to Lo, he tried to get the side of Onglao on the split but his friends said that the architect did not want to speak and was "feeling low and very sad." - ABS-CBNNews

According to the Global Asthma Report, an estimated 300 million people worldwide are affected by asthma.¹ In the Philippines, approximately 11 Million or 1 out 10 Filipinos are suffering from this debilitating disease.² This incurable disease burdens patients with a sense of imprisonment and constant restraint preventing them to live their lives to the fullest.
Fact: In the Philippines, 1 out of 10 Filipinos are suffering from asthma.
“Asthma is a recurring inflammatory disorder in the airways of breathing, which undergoes variable expiratory flow and reversible bronchoconstrictions. In people with asthma, the airways are chronically inflamed. Certain triggers can make the inflammation worse and cause a narrowing of the airways”, shares Dr. Melvin Pasay, a pulmonologist and Medical Affairs Manager of GSK.
Common symptoms include constant wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing often late at night or early in the morning. Asthma can be triggered by dust, changes in weather (often cold), animals (pet hair in particular), exercise, tobacco smoke and stress.
The cause of asthma is unknown. However as shared by Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Inc. (PSAAI) President, Dr. Carmela Kasala, several predisposing factors to consider include genetic history (personal history or first degree relative) with asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema; weight and smoking history. “While there is also no known cure for asthma, this serious chronic disease can be controlled and effectively treated. By establishing a strong partnership between a patient and his doctor, results showed that asthma can be controlled” shares Dr. Kasala.
BURDEN OF HAVING ASTHMA
In the Asia Pacific, including the Philippines, a study showed that activity limitation caused by asthma has been quite prevalent. A mean of 44.7% of respondents reported that normal physical activity was compromised, and 37.9% believed that their choice of job or career was limited. A total of 52.7% of respondents said that sports and recreation were affected, and 37.6% believed their lifestyle was restricted while almost 50% reported sleep disturbances.³
“A lot of asthma patients have resigned and became ‘prisoners’ to their condition. Many seem to have created imaginary cages and locking themselves up with lifestyle restrictions. They are assuming that frequent symptoms, exacerbations and lifestyle limitations are inevitable consequences of having asthma - unaware that their condition can be controlled,” observes Dr. Pasay.
What is alarming is that 98 percent of Filipino asthma patients remain uncontrolled or only partly controlled.⁴
“This means that asthma patients will only use medication when they have attacks believing that as long as there are no attacks they will be okay. As such, they believe that it is enough that they have available medicines to be taken on an as-needed basis,” shares Dr. Sylvia Yang, World Asthma Day committee chair of Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP).
Regular visits and consultations with doctors likewise became less as children grew up and had lesser asthma attacks. Most are relying on peers, family and even online resources to provide limited information and possibly, sub-optimal treatment for their condition. This makes patients underestimate their condition leading to poor asthma control.
Cost of treatment is also a main consideration for compliance, but the truth is uncontrolled asthma can lead to higher odds of hospitalization and emergency room visits and become more expensive due to direct medical cost like hospitalization or medications and indirect cost like time lost from work, overall productivity or even premature death.
In celebration of World Asthma Day, an annual event organized by the "Global Initiative for Asthma” (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world, GSK Philippines unveils ASTHMAlaya Ka Ba Talaga? campaign, a disease awareness initiative that also seeks to encourage asthma patients, to be more proactive in consulting their doctors on how they can achieve asthma control.
So how do you know if you need asthma control? It’s easy, if you are an asthma patient who experiences daytime asthma symptoms (coughing or wheezing) more than twice a week, wakes up at night due to asthma, uses an asthma reliever more than twice a week or have any activity limitations due to asthma, you may have uncontrolled asthma and need to immediately consult your doctor.
The celebration was participated by advocates from Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP) and the Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Inc. (PSAAI) who are one with the advocacy of furthering awareness and urgency among patients to consult their doctors for proper asthma control.
As Dr. Pasay profoundly put it, “Our message is clear; “You don’t have to serve a life sentence of limitations because of Asthma, be in control and be ASTHMALAYA!”

11 Million or 1/10 Filipinos are asthmatics. Even more alarming is that 9/10 Pinoys who have asthma remain uncontrolled or only partly controlled. The document, dated May 2, 2016 and marked with the INC logo, is an alleged endorsement of Duterte by the INC executive minister.
“Nakita natin na mabuting ehemplo, may takot sa Diyos, at bukal ng pag-asa ng ating mga kababayan si Rodrigo Duterte,” the letter said.
“Inaasahan ko ang inyong pagtalima sa hindi mapapasubaliang kautusang ito, bilang bahagi ng inyong tungkuling huwag biguin ang aral at utos ng ating Panginoon,” it added.
He said the actual announcement will be “very near the (election) day itself.”
All five presidential candidates—Duterte, Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, Senator Grace Poe and former secretary Mar Roxas—have visited the INC headquarters on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, supposedly to get the support of the influential religious sect.
President Benigno Aquino III on Monday visited Manalo, purportedly to thank the INC for supporting the administration.
