James Bond "SPECTRE" Final Trailer Released

James Bond "SPECTRE" Final Trailer Released

The explosive final trailer for Columbia Pictures' SPECTRE has arrived. Watch below:

Careful not to reveal anything more than what was teased before, the last trailer instead reveals some breathtaking action sequences, plus a memorable face off between Daniel Craig and villain Christoph Waltz.

SPECTRE follows the release of SKYFALL, the biggest Bond film of all time, which took in $1.1 billion worldwide.

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.

Directed by Sam Mendes, SPECTRE is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, from a script by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.

Opening across the Philippines on November 06, 2015, “Spectre” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

ABS-CBN and Promil Launch i-Shine Online Talent Camp

ABS-CBN and Promil Launch i-Shine Online Talent Camp

Promil Pre-School I-Shine Kapamilya host Dimples Romana is back together with mentor for Visual Arts Xian Lim and new mentor for Performing Arts Karylle to search for kids who have the potential to shine with their talents through Promil Pre-School I-Shine’s latest online talent camp beginning October 5.

For its fourth season, Promil Pre-School and ABS-CBN are bringing the talent search closer to more parents and their children by launching the first online talent camp (www.ishine.abs-cbn.com) to encourage and help mothers to nurture and develop their children’s gifts through comprehensive workshops.

This year, the talent camp expands as workshops will now include lessons in both Performing Arts (singing, dancing, acting, music), and Visual Arts (painting, drawing, crafting).

“A mom’s role is always important. My mom is my shining light and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her, that’s why launching Promil Pre-School I-Shine as an online talent camp is a great idea because this will be more accessible to more moms and they can be more involved in nurturing the talents of their kids,” Visual Arts mentor Xian Lim shared.

To join the online talent camp, moms need to register and choose where to enroll their kids, whether performing arts or visual arts in the website (www.ishine.abs-cbn.com).

Once enrolled in the online course, moms and kids will have the chance to watch and learn from video lessons each week taught by celebrity mentors Karylle, John Prats, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo for Performing Arts and Xian Lim, Agot Isidro, and Christina Dy for Visual Arts.

Promil Pre-School I-Shine talent camp will have weekly video challenges for students in line with the workshop, which will serve as their audition videos.

Students who will emerge as the Promil Pre-School I-Shine online talent camp champions (one winner per category) will be chosen by the mentors and will win a cash prize, a roster of TV guest appearances, and a contract with ABS-CBN’s Chicken Pork Adobo, among others.

The Promil Pre-School I-Shine Talent Camp aims to help exceptionally talented preschoolers develop their full potential. It is the product of Promil Pre-School’s advocacy in developing Filipino children’s talents with the help of their parents, proper care, and proper nutrition.

Waze Says "Phillipine Traffic and Filipino Drivers The Worst in the World"

Waze Says "Phillipine Traffic and Filipino Drivers The Worst in the World"

OMG! Not just the Philippine traffic condition is now the worst in the world, it has also the 9th worst country for drivers next to El Salvador, garnering a low 3.9 in the Driver Satisfaction Index, with the score 10 as "satisfying" and 1 as "miserable" according to data from traffic and navigation application Waze.

The Driver Satisfaction Index, according to Waze, is based on 6 key factors: traffic level by frequency and severity of traffic jams; road quality and infrastructure; driver safety based on accidents, road hazards and weather; driver services like access to gas stations and easy parking; socio-economic including access to cars and impact of gas prices; and "wazeyness," the level of helpfulness and happiness within the Waze community.

The maps app evaluated the driving experience of 50 million users in 32 countries and 167 metro areas.

The Netherlands outranked all other countries for offering the best driving experience with a score of 7.9, Waze said.

El Salvador, on the other hand, was named the worst in terms of driver satisfaction, with the Philippines not far behind.

The Netherlands, likewise, topped the Traffic Index with a score of 8.1 - a far cry from the Philippines' 0.4. Almost the same countries were on the top 10 best and worst lists.

On a city level, Manila also reported the "worst traffic on Earth" with a similar index of 0.4, said Waze.

The average commuting time in the Philippine capital is 45.5 minutes, it noted.

Waze said Indonesia had the biggest number, at 8, on the list of the cities with the worst traffic situation in the world.

Here are the worst 10 cities with the lowest Traffic Index according to Waze:

1. Manila - 0.4
2. Bandung - 0.5
3. Guatemala - 0.6
4. Yogyakarta - 0.7
5. Caracas - 0.8
6. Bogor - 0.8
7. Bogota - 0.9
8. Medellin - 1
9. Denpasar - 1
10. Cali - 1.2

Meanwhile, here are the best 10 cities with the highest Traffic Index:

1. Rennes - 8.8
2. Greensboro, NC - 8.6
3. Grand Rapids, MI - 8.5
4. Dayton, OH - 8.4
5. Montpellier - 8.3
6. Fresno-Madera, CA - 8.3
7. Columbia-Newberry, SC - 8.3
8. Strasbourg - 8.2
9. Harrisburg, PA - 8.2
10. Phoenix, AZ - 8.1

In the Wazeyness Index, which measures the level of helpfulness and happiness within the Waze community, the Philippines also ranked low at 6th place with a score of 3.4.

The Philippines was also the worst in the Socio-Economic Index and the 13th worst in the Road Quality Index.

On the other hand, the Philippines was the best in the Driver Services Index with a perfect score of 10. This index pertains to access to gasoline stations and parking areas.

With a rating of 9.3, it also ranked 4th in the list of the best cities with the highest Safety Index, which is based on road accidents and hazards.

Survey site Numbeo.com, in its 2015 mid-year report, said the Philippines has the 5th worst traffic in the world. In terms of cities, traffic in Manila is the 13th worst.

Numbeo measured the traffic index based on the average time spent by a commuter to reach a destination, dissatisfaction, inefficiencies in the traffic system, and carbon dioxide emission.

TFC@theMovies Marks Simultaneous Opening Week for "Etiquette For Mistresses" Worldwide

“Etiquette For Mistresses,” Star Cinema’s upcoming and much-awaited offering, creates a major historic milestone as it will be the very first Filipino film that will be shown in cinemas around the world by TFC@theMovies on the same week of its opening day in the Philippines.

Right after its grand red carpet premiere at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City in the Philippines on September 29, “Etiquette For Mistresses” will open in cinemas nationwide starting September 30 (Wednesday) and will also have screenings on the same week in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait on October 1; in the United States and Canada on October 2; in Vienna, Austria on October 3 (6:30 p.m.); in London, United Kingdom on October 3 and 4; in Milan (10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.) and Rome (10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.), Italy on October 4; and in Paris, France on October 3 (3:00 p.m.), 4 (3:00 p.m.), and then on Oct 11 (1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.).  The movie will also screen thereafter in Sydney and New Zealand on October 8 and in Singapore on October 18.

The screening of “Etiquette for the Mistresses” is truly a milestone for TFC@theMovies according to its Business Unit Head, John-D Lazatin.  “While TFC has been screening movies for as long as we can remember and TFC@theMovies has been producing films specifically for the overseas Filipino audience since 2011, these simultaneous screenings speak not only of how we always strive to deliver the best from the homeland and tailor fit content for our OF audience, but also create that shared experience amongst Filipinos in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world,” says Lazatin.

Directed by master storyteller Chito Rono and written for the big screen by Kriz Gazmen and Patrick Valencia, Etiquette For Mistresses is inspired by journalist and author Julie Yap-Daza’s best-selling book of the same title.

The film brings together an amazing ensemble cast of the country’s finest acting talents led by Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, Cheena Crab, Kim Chiu, and Kris Aquino.

“Etiquette For Mistresses” is centered on a group of sophisticated, well-mannered mistresses who embark on their individual journeys to find love.  Issues arise in their lives because not all mistresses are alike – there are those who exemplify the stereotype while there are those who position themselves accordingly because they are truly aware of their place in the sun.

The mistresses seem to have everything yet they feel that they have nothing because deep inside, they know that their love will never be whole. They all struggle to break their hearts free from the prisons they themselves helped create.

“Etiquette For Mistresses” offers moviegoers a glimpse of the varied stories, different loves, and many pains found in the secret world of mistresses.

Japan's Highest-Rating Series "Amachan" Airs on TV5 Starting October 5

Japan's Highest-Rating Series "Amachan" Airs on TV5 Starting October 5

One of Japan’s highest-rating dramas, Amachan, will soon warm the hearts of Filipinos as TV5 starts airing the program beginning October 5, Monday-Friday, 11am.

The Philippine distribution of Amachan was made possible following an affiliation agreement between TV5 and Japan Broadcasting Corporation, NHK.

Amachan is an upbeat drama with moments of comedy about the journey of high-schooler Aki, played by popular Japanese actress Rena Nōnen, in pursuing her dreams of becoming an “ama”, a Japanese traditional free-diver of seafood, particularly of sea urchins in the series, and a pop idol. The series is set in the Tohoku region of Japan, which endured the biggest blow of the devastating tsunami disaster in 2011.

The series was an instant hit in Japan, becoming one of the top-rated morning dramas in Japan. Newcomer actress, Nōnen, even won a Best Actress trophy in Japan’s 17th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix for her role in the series. Amachan not only won the hearts of Japanese viewers, the production of the series in the Tohoku region was also seen to have contributed in efforts to restore the region.

The hit drama-comedy earned Japan’s prestigious Galaxy Award for best television program in 2013, and will soon hit Philippine television – making Amachan the only Galaxy Award Gran Prix winner drama series to air in the country.

In addition to that, a live variety show, Hallo Hallo Café, hosted by seasoned comedian Yachang, will also pilot alongside Amachan as an after-show component. Hallo Hallo Café, presented and sponsored by Hallo Hallo Inc. and the Cool Japan Shop, will not only feature fun games but also give viewers a chance to win thousands of prizes. Viewers simply have to register for free on hallohallo.com to become eligible for the prizes up for grabs as seen in the after-show. Registered hallohallo.com users can also earn up to 10 million points by simply watching the show and being on the lookout for the daily keyword, which equates to points that can eventually turn into prizes.

It's Showtime Introduces their Version of Alden Richards: Meet Jomari Tormento and Michael Enriquez

It's Showtime Introduces their Version of Alden Richards: Meet Jomari Tormento and Michael Enriquez

One down, two more added.

After Pastillas Girl friend-zoned Jess Senido, her suitor from Bacolod City, two new suitors hoping to be the next "Mr. Pastillas" were introduced on "It's Showtime" on Wednesday. They are  Jomari Tormento, dubbed as "Dancing Gwapo from Baguio" and Michael Enriquez, also known as "Talented Hottie from QC".

Jomari is a 22-year-old cheer dancer who hails from Baguio City. He recently graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

According to him, he admires Pastillas Girl's courage in expressing herself, without thinking about what other people might say.

A dancer since his college days, Jomari also gave a sample of his killer dance moves.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Michael decided to visit the Philippines to try "some adventures" in Manila. "I just wanted to get out of my everyday life in Sydney. It got boring," he said.

Michael revealed that he first saw "Pastillas Girl" on Twitter. After seeing a lot of tweets about her, he decided to watch her viral video on YouTube.

"I found it very intriguing. I think it took a lot of courage to do what she did," he said.

A freelance model for print and TV advertisements, Michael also knows how to play the piano and does taekwondo. He then gave a sample of his music skills by playing keyboard.

ALDUB, Pastillas Girl or Heneral Luna: What Young Generation Needs to Realize in this Age of Social Media

ALDUB, Pastillas Girl or Heneral Luna: What Young Generation Needs to Realize in this Age of Social Media

I found this article posted on online magazine blog WhenInManila so current, precise in its aim to make the youth realize how to spend their time (and use their brain) wisely that I opted to re-post it (credited to the its contributor):

Is it me or is today’s youth fixated on trivial things far too much? I’m not going to pretend like I’m an expert at Philippine history nor am I going to pretend like I didn’t have my share of crazy Tabing Ilog or Meteor Garden moments, but something like the ALDub (did I capitalize that right?) vs Pastillas craze? That never happened in my generation (I sound like such a Lola).

A few days ago, a friend of mine posted this on social media because she received over 50 mentions and 20 RTs all because she didn’t capitalize the L in her #ALDubEBforLOVE hashtag:

Okay… First of all, hashtags are not case-sensitive. And second of all, if these kids would channel all of that energy into advocating something more useful and beneficial to their fellowmen, I’m sure we’d live in a much better country right now.

Maybe it has something to do with social media being so rampant nowadays and maybe it’s not even this generation’s fault, but I really think importance should be placed on things that aren’t so ALDub and Pastillas-related. I’ll let these photos do the rest of the talking.
