Vice Ganda again made headlines on Thursday when he appeared, during the Vice Advice segment of "It's Showtime," without make-up, contact lens, and hair extension to show that real beauty comes from within.

Following the very brave move, Vice Ganda posted a picture of him without make-up on Instagram with the hashtag #ProudToBeMe which then became a nationwide trending topic on Twitter after netizens posted their own unfiltered photos, inspired by Vice to be proud of who they are.

Vice’s “revelation” in “It’s Showtime” happened in his “Advice Ganda” segment, where he comforted a bullying victim who said her schoolmates often called her ugly.

He also advised the student to be proud of her own looks. “We can’t force other people to call us beautiful, but we, no matter what happens, should always see ourselves as beautiful. What our hearts say should always be more powerful than the words of other people. You are beautiful whoever you are because God created you, so you should never be affected by what others say,” the comedian shared.

Better Version of "How Deep is Your Love" Featured in Saturday Night Fever Musicale

Better Version of "How Deep is Your Love" Featured in Saturday Night Fever Musicale

"How Deep Is Your Love", the 1977 mega-hit by the Bee Gees, will be released as a single that will be part of an original cast recording of the Asian Tour of the stage musical version of Saturday Night Fever.

The Asian tour will have stops in Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and will star Brandon Rubendall who will play Tony Manero and Jenna Rubaii who will play his dance partner and eventual love interest Stephanie Mangano. The two will also perform the song on the musical's official soundtrack (OST). The Manila leg, mounted by the Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group (ATEG) in close coordination with the Robert Stigwood Organization, will have performances from July 3 to 26 at the Theatre, Solaire Resort and Casino.

Everyone knows the song well. Originally intended for Yvonne Elliman (who later recorded "If I Can't Have You) instead won an award for Best Pop Performance by a Group at the 20th Grammy Awards held in February 1978 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 on 24 December 1977 (becoming the first of six consecutive US number-one hits) and stayed in the Top 10 for a then-record 17 weeks. It also ranked number 375 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

In a 2001 interview the Bee Gees' did for Billboard magazine, Barry Gibb reportedly said that "How Deep Is Your Love" was his favorite Bee Gees song.

Said Barry: "A lot of the textures you hear in the song were added on later. We didn't change any lyrics, mind you, but the way we recorded it was a little different than the way we wrote in terms of construction. A little different for the better, I think, the title 'How Deep Is Your Love' we thought was perfect because of all the connotations involved in that sentence, and that was simply it."

That iconic song will make itself heard again to a whole new generation of listeners once the Asian Tour of Saturday Night Fever takes off. Marie Rose, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Mikkie Bradshaw, Jamie Wilson and Carla Guevara-Laforteza are also joining the show's 20-strong cast.

Broadway choreographer Vince Pesce, Tony Award-winning scenic designer David Gallo, original lighting designer of"Saturday Night Feveron Broadway Paul Miller, costume designer Eric Pineda and musical director Ceejay Javier are also part of the creative team.

The Manila crew is working in close coordination with the Robert Stigwood Organization whose founder, Mr. Stigwood, produced the original Saturday Night Fever film and its various stage incarnations from 1998 to the present. Garcia reveals: "We're using a brand-new script (originally written by Nan Knighton, in collaboration with Arlene Phillips, Paul Nicholas and Mr. Stigwood) that brings back a lot of the grittiness and the coming-of-age in a tough world aspect of the movie. It's edgy and exciting. It's a completely conceptualized production."

He is excited that the famous movie musical is being re-invented for a stage audience across Asia, and that "How Deep Is Your Lovewill be heard again via this new cast recording of the stage version.

"We have a first-rate creative team and have assembled an amazing cast,he says. "I think the quality of the show will speak for itself once it's up on its feet. This production will be everything Saturday Night Fever should be."

It Finally Arrived! Dinosaur Park Opens on June 10

It Finally Arrived! Dinosaur Park Opens on June 10

Can you imagine what a dinosaur looks like, moves like or sounds like without thinking of "Jurassic Park?"
It isn't just a movie. It's a memory shared by all of us.
It defined the colossal summer blockbuster, a moviegoing event of a lifetime that provided us some of the most lasting, iconic sights and sounds of cinema.
It gave you the feeling that the first day of summer had arrived.
It pioneered advancements in visual effects that made you believe dinosaurs roamed the Earth again.
Mixing plausible science with breathtaking imagination, it told a cautionary tale about what could result from messing with the natural order.
It left your eyes wide, your jaw open and your heart racing.
Jurassic Park answered the question of how much story, how much fun and how much spectacle could fit into one perfect summer motion picture.
Now, the story of Steven Spielberg's original comes full circle as the park that was only a promise comes to life.
Welcome to "Jurassic World." The new film is directed by Colin Trevorrow ("Safety Not Guaranteed") who was handpicked by Spielberg to take the Jurassic mantle.
Twenty-two years ago, Dr. John Hammond had a dream: a theme park where visitors from all over the world could experience the thrill and awe of witnessing actual dinosaurs.
Now, his dream has finally become a reality.
Welcome to Jurassic World, a fully operational luxury resort where tens of thousands of guests explore the wonder and brilliance of Earth's most magnificent living prehistoric marvels and interact up close with them every day.
Situated on an island off the coast of Costa Rica and constructed around a bustling Main Street, Jurassic World is a state-of-the-art wonder full of astonishing attractions. Kids ride gentle mini Triceratops in the petting zoo, crowds cheer as the aquatic Mosasaurus leaps from a performance pool to snatch a great white shark dangled as a snack, and families gaze with fascination as dinosaurs of every shape and size roam again, all displayed and safely contained for the guests' amusement.
Overseeing every corner of Jurassic World is driven careerist Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), who finds herself unexpectedly saddled with the arrival of her nephews, Zach, 16 (Nick Robinson), and Gray, 11 (Ty Simpkins). Although they've been shipped off by their mom, Karen (Judy Greer), to spend a few days at Jurassic World, Claire has no time for the distraction of two visiting kids and loads them down with passes, sending them off to explore the park.
The park's miraculous animals are created by Dr. Henry Wu (BD Wong), a geneticist who once worked for InGen, the company behind Hammond's first park, and now for the larger-than-life billionaire benefactor of Jurassic World, Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan). Because the commercial prosperity of the park demands new innovations every year to keep guests returning, Dr. Wu is pushed beyond the bounds of ethical science, manipulating genetics to engineer a genetically modified dinosaur that never walked the Earth before, and whose abilities remain undiscovered.
The most secretive new breed developed by Dr. Wu and yet to be debuted in the park is the massive and mysterious Indominus rex. Raised in isolation after devouring its only sibling, the Indominus rex, whose genetic makeup has been classified, is reaching maturity. To help assess the creature and the security of its containment, Claire visits Owen (Chris Pratt), an ex-military expert in animal behavior working at a secluded research base on the periphery of the main park. Owen is years into a training study with a pack of aggressive Velociraptors, over whom he's established an alpha relationship that balances the animals precariously between reluctant obedience and predatory revolt.
When the Indominus rex - whose capacities for savagery and intelligence are unknown - stages an escape and disappears within the depths of the jungle, every creature in Jurassic World, both dinosaur and human, is threatened. For Claire, the lives that matter most are those of her nephews, who have ventured off course in a gyrosphere vehicle that allows 360-degree visibility of the world all around them. Now, Owen and Claire join the hunt for the boys as order inside the park turns to mayhem and guests turn into prey. Dinosaurs escape into the open, the skies and the water to engage in an all-out war for survival, and no corner within the world's greatest theme park is safe anymore.
Opening across the Philippines on June 10, "Jurassic World" is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Ejay Falcon Accused of Murder

Ejay Falcon Accused of Murder

Kapamilya hunk actor and “Pasion De Amor” star Ejay Falcon was  accused of murder in another intense episode of hit legal drama “Ipaglaban Mo” this Saturday (May 30) on ABS-CBN.

Boyet (Ejay) is like family to Norma (Sharmaine Suarez) and Dado (CJ Navato) ever since he started working for them as their houseboy. Like a true brother to Dado and son to Norma, Boyet genuinely takes care of them and would even defend them from policeman Nato (Zeppi Borromeo), who usually gets into an argument with his cousin Norma.

One night, Boyet suddenly disappears. To the neighborhood’s surprise, both Norma and Dado are found dead right at their very home. Nato, however, tracks Boyet down and identifies him as the primary suspect.
How would Boyet explain to the court why he fled the same night the two got killed? Is Boyet guilty of the allegations against him? Who really is the culprit?

Angelica Panganiban Controversial "Trying Hard" Dubsmash Starring Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista

Angelica Panganiban uses photos of her BFF Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista - ex-girlfriend of her bestfriend John Prats - for ‘copy cat’ dubsmash video in last Saturday’s Banana Split Dubsmash challenge.

The video,  showing Angel holding two phones containing photos of the two erring Kapuso actresses while delivering Cherie Gil's classic line “You’re nothing but a second-rate, trying hard copycat!” from the movie Bituing Walang Ningning immediately stirs controversy putting their fans in serious social media word war.

Check out the video here:

On Twitter @heart021485, Heart Evangelista posted what others perceived as her response to the controversial video. She said, "Kahit anong sikat...kahit anong ganda...ang tanging nakikita ng Diyos? Ang puso natin yun lang....at the end of the day...be kind."

Marian Rivera, on the other hand, decided to keep mum on the issue.

Lyca Gairanod, Life After Winning The Voice Kids

A year after being named the grand winner of “The Voice Kids,” Lyca Gairanod is still living her dream. Now a grade 3 student, she is busy juggling her studies and performing in gigs.

Early this month, she performed as a special guest in the concert of her former coach Sarah Geronimo in Canada, one of the many places she has been to to sing for people.

I have gained a lot of friends and my family’s life has gotten better. I’m happy to be able to help my family. All my dreams came true, and I’m thankful to God that He helped me all the way,” said Lyca, who started making a living by scavenging junk before joining “The Voice Kids.”

Aside from the house and lot she got for winning “The Voice Kids,” she has also provided her family with a car.

Besides singing, Lyca also has her eyes on acting. In fact, her performance in her “MMK” life story was well received, and even convinced her to try it again.

I really want to act, but my schedule can’t accommodate it. But I will accept whatever projects they give me,” she shared. Aside from gigs and TV guestings, she is also busy with school.

Lyca is also excited for the second season of “The Voice Kids” that will start airing this June. As the country waits for the next grand winner, Lyca offers some advice to those who want to pursue a career in music: “It’s free to dream, so just dream on. Whether you win or lose, congratulations still. The Lord will still be there for you.”

She added, “Always be kind. Never forget your family. Pray before singing. And remain humble.”

Don’t miss the premiere of “The Voice Kids” Season 2 this June on ABS-CBN.

Spotted: Showbiz Stars Conquers Mt.Pulag

Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin (minus her real life boyfriend Luis Manzano) and Kapuso hunk actor Derek Ramsay spotted on top of Mt. Pulag mountain in Benguet.

No, they're not together and they're not doing any movie or TV shoots. Being athletic as they are, the two well-known showbiz personalities opted to spend their much-deserve R&R on top of the third highest mountain in the Philippines.

5 hour trip to Baguio, another 4 hour trip on rough roads and zigzag cliffs from Baguio to Benguet, agonized and enjoyed the 3 hour hike to camp 2, got really cold at the camp, woke up at 2:30 am to prepare for the 3 am assault to the summit, trek for 2 hours in the dark.. But we made it to the summit!!! Sia Interprets "California Dreamin" for Biggest, Scariest Disaster Movie "San Andreas"

Sia Interprets "California Dreamin" for Biggest, Scariest Disaster Movie "San Andreas"

Consistent with the edgy tone of the musical score for New Line Cinema's “San Andreas,” multiple Grammy nominee and international chart-topping artist Sia has interpreted the 1960s classic “California Dreamin'” for the film's soundtrack.

Produced by Oliver Kraus, the song was performed by Sia especially for “San Andreas,” and is heard in tandem with its closing beats and end credits, to echo the evocative and uplifting notes of the story’s big finale.

Sia's powerhouse vocals are on full display, turning the bittersweet song into a gorgeous slow-burner that demands repeat listening. Listen here:

Meanwhile, to create the primary music for “San Andreas,” director Brad Peyton again turned to Andrew Lockington, the composer on both his past film “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

Beginning the process at the earliest possible point, Peyton explains, “The way I like to build the world is to look at the tone and the music. For ‘San Andreas,’ the question was how to create an original, epic and very emotional score, so we just dove in and started playing around to find the themes and the vibe of this movie. You can play the characters, or you can play the event so you need to decide, ‘Is this a moment where we’re grounding the experience in someone’s point of view or offering the larger view?’”

Always open to unique influences, Lockington incorporated one that was especially appropriate: sounds derived from actual waveform data collected from the San Andreas Fault, a year ago. “Using real-time seismic event data collected from the U.S. Geological Survey, we found seismic elements that could be manipulated to create these incredible sounds,” he offers. “We didn’t use it very much, but it’s a sprinkled touch, particularly under the Caltech scenes.

To capture a sense of discord, Lockington relates, “I got an old piano and spent two days destroying it with sledge hammers and wire cutters. We had planned to record hitting it with the hammers, and those sounds are blended in with the orchestral elements in the film. After that, I sat down to play this broken instrument that was hanging on by a thread, and I could play notes but they didn’t sound like they were supposed to, and it no longer even sounded like a piano. So suddenly we had this whole new instrument – and some of those sounds figure prominently in certain scenes as well. It’s an interesting rhythmic element.” The composer then worked with a programmer to synthesize portions of the damaged piano notes into what he calls “a raw, terrifying noise that feels almost like a fist dropping down on the rest of the score.’”

Transitioning from fear and destruction to perseverance and hope, Lockington then introduced portions of a boys’ choir, “to cut through everything else that’s going on and get into the depths of emotion of these characters and their will to overcome. We also have a very beautiful theme that transcends the disaster, with a lot of strings.”

When we talk in terms of locking into a character’s experience with the music, we’re trying to see what they see,” says Peyton, who could just as well apply that to his overall approach. “Beyond the epic action, buildings coming down and waves crashing through a city, there are love stories, emotional connections, and the idea of a family putting itself back together.

It’s the kind of story I love to tell: high concept, high emotion,” says Flynn. “There are a lot of powerful themes in ‘San Andreas’ and it’s also incredibly entertaining. I’m fascinated with the concept of what makes a hero.”

There’s action, love, drama, and heroes,” Dwayne Johnson sums up. “And, there’s the greatest foe known to man: Mother Nature.

After the infamous San Andreas Fault gives, triggering a magnitude 9-plus earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter. But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

Opening across the Philippines in 3D , 2D and 4DX formats on May 28, “San Andreas” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Tune Hotels Danga Bay Johor Bahru, Malaysia: Incline to Nature and Adventure

Tune Hotels Danga Bay Johor Bahru, Malaysia: Incline to Nature and Adventure

I am hearing a lot of friends complaining already about the unbearable summer weather condition. In fact, with a high temperature of 37°C (even reached 41°C sometime last week) for the past days, I know some who already left Manila for an impromptu-much-deserve-summer-get-away vacation. Others decided to just stay inside their home spending the day watching their favorite TV series. There are some who just bum around the mall taking advantage of a free air condition.

But for those who want to experience a new adventure, something that will make this time of the year extra thrilling for them,  Johor Bahru in Southern Malaysia is one to try-out for.

Johor Bahru (also known as Iskandar Malaysia) is the capital city of Johor in Southern Malaysia, located north of Singapore.

Once used to be a small Malay fishing village known as Tanjung Puteri, Johor Bahru quickly become one of the must-visit tourist hotspots in the region.

To fly from Manila to Johor Bahru, take Air Asia (to book your lowest fares, visit AIRASIA.COM)  from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 4 to Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 then take another 40 minutes flight from KLIA2 to Senai International Airport, located 35 km North-West of the city center.
