Frozen Sequel “Frozen Fever” Trailer Released

Frozen Sequel “Frozen Fever” Trailer Released

Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf are back, are you excited?

Here's one good news! Disney has just revealed the trailer for the animated short film “Frozen Fever”.

Check out below:

Elsa, Queen of Arendelle, single-handedly set off an eternal winter that enveloped an entire village in snow and ice.

With a wave of her hand, she created a magical snowman whose love of fun in the sun is made possible by tiny flurries she summons to keep him in the cold.

The grand palace she built from the ground up comes complete with an icy staircase and a stunning, one-of-a-kind chandelier.

But can she throw a party?

That’s the plan in “Frozen Fever,” a brand-new short from Walt Disney Animation Studios. It’s Anna’s birthday, after all, and Elsa hopes to make up for a lifetime of closed doors by throwing her little sister a party she’ll never forget.

She’s determined to give Anna the big birthday celebration that just wasn’t possible when they were little and lived in their isolated world,” says director Jennifer Lee. “Elsa enlisted the help of Kristoff, Sven and Olaf - everyone who cares about Anna.”

She has the cake, a slew of gifts and a clever plan to reveal it all - but the all-powerful Queen of Arendelle also has something brewing that just might derail everything. “Elsa is catching a cold,” says director Chris Buck. “But it’s not just any cold. There’s magic in Elsa’s sneezes.”

Unbeknownst to Elsa, every time she sneezes, the magic within her makes tiny snowmen - Snowgies - whose unbelievable cuteness is only partly mitigated by their penchant for mischief. “They wreak havoc on the party,” says Buck. “Like Olaf, they have their eyes on Anna’s cake.”

The short welcomes back to the big screen the voices that helped bring the “Frozen” favorites to life. Kristen Bell once again lends her voice to Anna, and Idina Menzel returns as the voice of Elsa. Jonathan Groff voices Kristoff, and Josh Gad provides the voice of unforgettable snowman Olaf. Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“Up Here”) and Robert Lopez (“Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon”) wrote an all-new song for the short, and composer Christophe Beck (“Cake”) provides the score.

Directed by Beck and Lee, produced by Peter Del Vecho and Aimee Scribner, and executive produced by John Lasseter, “Frozen Fever” opens March 12, in front of Disney’s live-action “Cinderella.”

“Cinderella” will be released in the Philippines through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

(Video) Vice Ganda Threatened by Vice Ganda 4 Kalokalike Daniel Aliermo?

I bet you will agree when I say Vice Ganda can be seen everywhere - church, mall, marketplace, MRT, and on TV. Why? With his achievements and undeniable strong influence to viewers people wanted to look like him, and to be as famous as him.

Say, in the ongoing 3rd season of It's Showtime famous segment "Kalokalike" 4 Vice Ganda impersonators are in quests to prove that they have strong resemblance to the comedian. But what really threatened the host is Vice Ganda 4 Daniel Aliermo from Davao City who act, sound, and look exactly like him.

"Kamukha ko s'ya." Vice declared. "As compared as nanalo nung season 1, mas maganda 'to." he added.

Helena Bonham Plays a Delightfully-Eccentric Fairy Godmother in the New “Cinderella” Movie

Helena Bonham Plays a Delightfully-Eccentric Fairy Godmother in the New “Cinderella” Movie

Helena Bonham Carter, whose film roles have ranged from sweet, demure characters in period dramas like Lucy in “A Room With a View” to dark, quirky characters like Bellatrix Lestrange in the “Harry Potter” films, the Red Queen in “Alice in Wonderland” and Mrs. Lovett in “Sweeney Todd,” has traditionally been drawn to characters who give her the creative freedom to analyze and find out what makes them tick.

Now, she plays the delightfully-eccentric Fairy Godmother in Walt Disney Pictures' live-action fantasy adventure, “Cinderella.”

This was a fantastic opportunity to get to reinvent the wheel, because there really isn’t a consistent image of who the Fairy Godmother is,” Bonham Carter says. “It was great fun to think about things like how she got to where she is. I’m supposed to be a designer in a way because I’m creating things to help prepare Cinderella for the ball, so I make her dress, I design her shoes, I design the footmen and I get the transport ready.

She continues, “As for why she chose a pumpkin for the carriage, I started thinking that maybe the pumpkin was an accident and she had actually intended for the carriage to come from something else, like a watermelon. The possibilities are endless, and as an actor I love thinking up back-stories for my characters.

Screenwriter Chris Weitz welcomed the chance to expand the scope of her part in the script, which meant the addition of a new character, a beggar woman (also played by Bonham Carter), who first approaches Ella and is treated with kindness before transforming into the Fairy Godmother. He tried to come up with lines and moments that would fit into her particular cadence, and says, “Helena wanted to pursue a version of the character that was very much in sync with the Fairy Godmother that people remember from the animated film, but also had a particular spin from the way she performs comedy.

I thought it would be interesting if she wasn’t always the best at everything, that perhaps she was highly-stressed because of the time restraints placed upon her so she would occasionally make mistakes,” says Bonham Carter. “They are late for the ball and she’s incredibly old and not quite with it mentally, and that just makes her all the more likable.”

Adds director Kenneth Branagh, “I read something interesting about the original Fairy Godmother in which the phrase ‘benign befuddlement’ was used. There is a befuddled quality about the Fairy Godmother in the original film, and what Helena brings is an extension, or an elaboration, of that.”

He concludes, “She’s very passionate, very witty, but not always in complete control of her magic. She’s utterly devoted to Cinderella. Clearly, there’s a maternal feeling for her. She is indeed her godmother or albeit, Fairy Godmother, so you feel that sort of familial care and concern.

A live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella” brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation.

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her.

And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin and a few mice, changes Cinderella’s life forever.

“Cinderella” will be released in the Philippines on March 12, through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos' Controversial Movie “T-Bird at Ako” Restored, Re-mastered

Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos' Controversial Movie “T-Bird at Ako” Restored, Re-mastered

ABS-CBN Film Archives Press Release

ABS-CBN Film Archives brings back to life the classic 80s film “T-Bird at Ako,” topbilled by Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos, as its digitally restored and re-mastered version hits cinemas this March.

The red carpet premiere was held on February 25 at the University of the Philippines Film Institute Cine Adarna where Nora herself graced the event and personally showed her support for ABS-CBN’s film restoration project. Both solid Noranians and Vilmanians also flocked to the venue.

One of the most talked about and controversial movies in the 80s, “T-Bird at Ako” is the 6th film that is 30 years or older restored by ABS-CBN, joining other timeless titles such as “Himala,” “Oro Plata Mata,” and “Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon.”

When asked about ABS-CBN’s selection process of ‘classic’ titles to restore, Film Archives head Leo Katigbak explained, “The definition of classic really evolves over time. It’s not just the old critically acclaimed award-winning movies per se but films that have taken on an iconic status due to director, stars, representation of an era and the like. Here in the Philippines, our classics tend to be more modern.”

He added, “The restoration campaign focuses on directors primarily. In the case of the 33-year old ‘T-Bird at Ako,’ it’s vintage Danny Zialcita with his snappy dialogue and witty repartee. It’s also the last time that Nora and Vilma co-starred in a movie and with such a daring theme for its time.”

“T-Bird at Ako” tells the story of a sexy dancer (Vilma) accused of homicide. She is defended by a female lawyer (Nora) who tries to keep their relationship professional as the latter struggles with confusion as to her sexual preference.

“T-Bird at Ako” is among the 75 films restored by ABS-CBN Film Archives, in collaboration with Central Digital Labs, since it started its restoration project in 2011. Some of these restored films were already screened internationally via film fests, screened locally via red carpet premieres, aired on free-to-air and cable television, viewed via pay-per-view and video-on-demand, distributed on DVD, and downloadable even on iTunes.

Watch out for the high definition version of “T-Bird at Ako” in select cinemas this March. For more information on ABS-CBN’s Film Restoration, like its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/filmrestorationabscbn.

"Two Wives" Finale Spoiler Alert: Who Between Kaye Abad and Erich Gonzales Will Have a Happy Ending?

"Two Wives" Finale Spoiler Alert: Who Between Kaye Abad and Erich Gonzales Will Have a Happy Ending?

The unconventional story of infidelity brought to Filipino viewers by “Two Wives” is about to end soon.

The top-rating primetime soap hasn’t ended yet but its lead stars Kaye Abad and Erich Gonzales are already feeling mixed emotions for their upcoming finale.

Of course I’m sad that the show will end because I will surely miss everyone, even the character of Yvonne,” said Kaye.

I also feel sad, but happy, in a way that show will end with the management very pleased with the outcome and with the fans really supporting us until the end,” said Erich.

Both women also admitted that “Two Wives” is a very special soap to them. For Kaye, playing Yvonne is a big break for her career, especially that she is one of the show’s lead stars.

The management took a very big risk for giving me this project,” Kaye playfully quipped.

Meanwhile, for Erich, “Two Wives” gave her the opportunity to play bida-kontrabida for the first time on television.

This is my first time to do a bida-kontrabida role. I accepted it to challenge myself. I don’t want to typecast myself in a specific role. Many people got affected with Janine and this is when I realized that it is really hard to do such roles because viewers can’t help but get carried away with the story. They thought its really happening in real life,” explained Erich.

For months, viewers have passionately pit Yvonne and Janine against each other, along with the various men in their lives - Victor (Jason Abalos), Albert (Patrick Garcia), Dale (Rayver Cruz), and Kenjie (Daniel Matsunaga). Aside from consistently winning the ratings game in its timeslot and from trending on social media every weeknight, “Two Wives” success has also been evident in how Yvonne, Janine, Victor and Albert became household names and a topic for discussion among friends, family, colleagues, and more.

As the program’s finale draws near, everyone is eager to find out how Yvonne and Janine’s intense rift will end. When will revenge stop consuming them? Who will emerge victorious in the end? Is there a room for forgiveness for both of them? Since this is a local adaptation, will the story of the Pinay “Two Wives” end just like that of their Korean counterparts?

Don’t miss the last few weeks of “Two Wives,” weeknights after “Forevermore” on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.

The Filipino Channel (TFC) Joins "One Billion Rising" in San Francisco, California

The Filipino Channel (TFC) Joins "One Billion Rising" in San Francisco, California

Dance is dangerous, joyous,
sexual, holy, disruptive,
contagious, it breaks the rules.
It can happen anywhere, anytime,
with anyone and everyone, and
it’s free. Dancing insists we take
up space, we go there together
in community. Dance joins us
and pushes us to go further and
that is why it’s at the center of
One Billion Rising.

– Eve Ensler, founder, One Billion Rising

Women’s issues were at front and center at last Sunday’s 87th Academy Awards when Oscar Best Supporting Actress winner Patricia Arquette ended her acceptance speech with a call for wage equality and equal rights for women. Meanwhile, prior to the awards ceremony, Best Actress nominee Reese Witherspoon called for a more dignified line of questioning on the red carpet rather than just what women are wearing by sharing an Instagram post with the hashtag #AskHerMore.

As March – National Women’s History Month – approaches, activities promoting awareness and understanding of women’s achievements, rights, ideas, and deserved place in society seem to trigger a lot of conversation.  Just this February, women from over 200 countries gathered en masse in an ongoing annual awareness and advocacy campaign to end violence against women and girls.  ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) showed solidarity with the global movement by representing and supporting the campaign in San Francisco City Hall last February 12 which was organized and sponsored by V-DAY, City and County of San Francisco, Filipina Women’s Network (FWN), San Francisco Department on the Status of Women, San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium, and the San Francisco Office of the District Attorney.

This movement is called “One Billion Rising”, a call to action based on the statistic that one in three women in the planet, or roughly one billion women and girls, will be beaten or raped during their lifetimes.  Each year, the campaign focuses on a different theme: last year it was “Justice”.  This year, it is “Revolution” because as movement founder Eve Ensler said, if societies want to stop attacks on women, it’s the systems that need to change.

The San Francisco event – attended by Mayor Ed Lee, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, officers and members of the sponsoring organizations, grassroots activists and hundreds of community leaders from various fields and their families – was a multicultural event that united in spirit with various “risings” around the world: from Freedom Park in Manila, Philippines to the Malaika School of Girls in Congo, to the men reading Eve Ensler’s piece “Man Prayer” in Sante Fe, New Mexico, to the dancing Southeast Asian domestic workers in Hong Kong, to the families that gathered to “Drum! Dance! Rise!” at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, the Marble Arch in London, the city square of Arco, Italy, and St Kilda Foreshore in Melbourne, Australia, and to star-studded events in the five boroughs of New York, to mention a few.

Filipino women have been very much a part of the community in San Francisco since it’s very diverse,” said ABS-CBN North America Managing Director Olivia De Jesus in an interview with Rommel Conclara of Balitang America. “We are one with them in joining this cause in rising against violence towards women in general.

Our work isn’t done yet,” said FWN CEO and Founder Marily Mondejar. “There’s still more that we have to do but every year we gather so that we can think about what we have done, what we still need to do and what issues we still need to solve.”
