Piolo Pascual Shares 3 Simple Steps to Deal with People Suspecting He's Gay

Source: ABS-CBNNews.com

"Delete. Block. Move on." shares Kapamilya Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual when asked by Anthony Taberna on how he deals with online bashers who claim that he is gay.

In an interview on "Tapatan ni Tunying" aired Thursday, the 37-year-old actor said that although he still finds the insults disrespectful, he now knows better than to let them get to him.

"For me, masakit kasi, sana kilala mo ako bago mo ako sabihan ng ganyan," he said.

"Pero ang mas importante sa akin, kilala ko sarili ko, kilala ako ng Diyos ko, kilala ako ng pamilya ko, kilala ako ng anak ko," he added.

Asked on how his 16-year-old son, Inigo, responds to the "gay" insults, he said: "Kilala niya ako eh."

"Naniniwala siya sa akin. Napipikon siya sa mga tao. Gusto niyang gumanti, lumaban, pero sabi ko it's not worth it," Piolo explained.

The "Hawak Kamay" lead actor, who gave up on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, said arguing on the internet, especially in social media, can be often pointless.

"Papatulan mo pero makikita mo rin na wala palang silbi ang paghahamon mo sa kanya. Waste of time," he said.

Warner Bros. Pictures Announces “Tarzan” 3D Movie Release Date

Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ new Tarzan 3D action adventure, starring Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”) as the legendary character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters, including “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 & 2,” is directing. Jerry Weintraub (“Behind the Candelabra,” the “Ocean’s” trilogy) is producing the film, together with David Barron (the “Harry Potter” films, upcoming “Cinderella”). Susan Ekins, Nikolas Korda, David Yates, Mike Richardson and Bruce Berman are serving as executive producers.

The feature also stars Oscar nominee Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction,” the “Captain America” films), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond,” “Gladiator”), Oscar nominee John Hurt (“The Elephant Man,” the “Harry Potter” films), and two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz (“Inglourious Basterds,” “Django Unchained”).

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

The adventure is being shot at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, as well as on location around the UK.

Collaborating with Yates behind the scenes, the creative team includes director of photography Henry Braham (“The Golden Compass”), Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“Dangerous Liaisons,” “The English Patient,” the “Harry Potter” films), editor Mark Day (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 & 2”), and Oscar-nominated costume designer Ruth Myers (“Emma,” “Unknown”).

A Jerry Weintraub production, the Tarzan action adventure is slated for release beginning July 1, 2016, and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Newest Child Star Neel Sethi Cast as Mowgli in Disney's “The Jungle Book”

After an extensive worldwide search ranging from New York to New Zealand, London to Canada, and all throughout the United States and India, The Walt Disney Studios is pleased to announce that 10-year-old Neel Sethi will play the part of Mowgli in Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

Neel is a newcomer from New York picked from among thousands of auditions, and his role in “The Jungle Book” marks his first foray into acting.

Casting is the most important element of any film and finding the right kid to play Mowgli was imperative,” said director Jon Favreau. “Neel has tremendous talent and charisma. There is a lot riding on his little shoulders and I’m confident he can handle it.

Neel embodies the heart, humor, and daring of the character,” adds casting director Sarah Finn. “He’s warm and accessible, yet also has an intelligence well beyond his years and impressed us all with his ability to hold his own in any situation. Even though he has no professional acting experience, his natural charisma and instincts jumped out at us.

As Mowgli, Neel will be the only actor onscreen in the film. The rest of the characters will be potrayed through voices by Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, and Lupita Nyong'o.

Based on the book by Rudyard Kipling, “The Jungle Book” is a combination of live-action and animation and will be released in 3D on October 9, 2015.

Claudine Barretto's Alleged Boyfriend Takes the Hotseat this Monday on "Face The People"

This Monday, controversial lawyer Atty. Ferdinand Topacio airs his side of the story in TV5’s social reality talk show Face The People.

Atty. Topacio, legal counsel for Claudine Barretto, has been dragged in numerous issues involving him and his client. Since he started representing the actress, rumors has it that his relationship with Claudine is beyond professional – as suggested by his alleged Asian cruise trip with Claudine, their exchanging of expensive gifts, and a viral photo showing them both enjoying fish balls on the street. Some say his services for Barretto is also done pro bono.

Barretto rushed to his defense. “Kung lahat nga ng mga lalaki sa mundong ito ay kagaya ni Attorney Topacio, masaya lahat ng mga babae sa mundong ito!” she said when Face The People hosts Edu Manzano and Gelli de Belen sought her reaction about rumors involving her and her legal counsel.

Meanwhile, various entertainment columnists took their sides on the issues involving the actress and her lawyer. For showbiz reporter Danny Batuigas, it is obvious that Claudine and Atty. Topacio are having an affair. But showbiz radio host Richard Pinlac asserts that the relationship of Atty. Topacio and Claudine should not be given malice since Atty. Topacio is already a family man.

In the end, Claudine zeroes in on her husband, actor Raymart Santiago, whom she and Atty. Topacio accuse of being an irresponsible father for going out of town just in time for his daughter’s birthday. Claudine also claims that she’s a battered wife and that their civil wedding was falsified.

Will the Claudine-Raymart saga finally end on Face The People or will Atty. Topacio’s revelations further fuel the issues? Don’t miss this controversial episode of Face The People this Monday, 10:15 AM on TV5 before Let’s Ask Pilipinas!

Piolo Pascual Set to Redefine Filipino Family Drama Series via "Hawak Kamay" Starting July 21

What happens when you leave three adopted children in the hands of A depressed drunkard who dreams of becoming a famous musician?

This is the story that ABS-CBN’s newest family drama, “Hawak Kamay,” will begin to tell as it hits TV screens on Monday (July 21) to reach out to modern day Filipino families.

The kick-off of the series also marks acclaimed actor Piolo Pascual’s much-anticipated return to television drama following the success of his movie “Starting Over Again” earlier in the year. Piolo will be taking on “Hawak Kamay” along with three of the country’s most powerful child stars, Zaijan Jaranilla, Andrea Brillantes, and Xyriel Manabat. The series will also introduce Grand i-Shiner Yesha Camile, who was under the mentorship of Piolo during her stint in the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp.

“Hawak Kamay” will also star Piolo’s “Starting Over Again” co-star Iza Calzado, who will be joined by singer-actress Nikki Gil and “Banana Split: Extra Scoop” and “Banana Nite” mainstay Ryan Bang. The show will also feature Victor Neri, who makes a comeback through “Hawak Kamay,” with “She’s Dating the Gangster” cast member Sofia Andres, and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Axel Torres.

This cast will be behind the story of Gin (Piolo Pascual), a failed musician who becomes the guardian of the three orphans that his dearly departed sister adopted: Emong (Zaijan Jaranilla), Dara (Xyriel Manabat), and Ningning (Yesha Camile). Tough attorney Bianca (Iza Calzado) and her sister Lorrie (Andrea Brillantes) witness how the reluctant and unprepared Gin ends up as a potential father figure to these three kids. As they encounter different trials, Gin gains sight of the more important things in life, and little by little, they all realize what exactly makes a family.

The cast of “Hawak Kamay” will be making things exciting at Fairview Terraces, the day before the show launches. Join Piolo, Iza, Zaijan, Xyriel, Andrea, and Yesha as they put on a mall show for fans on Sunday (July 20) at 4:00pm.

Jake Gyllenhaal Discovers His Doppelganger in "Enemy"

What would you do if you discover someone who looks exactly like you?

The reality of finding your doppelganger or a mirror image or yourself is the intriguing premise of the upcoming psychosexual thriller ENEMY, released by Solar Pictures.

Based on the novel “The Double” by José Saramago, ENEMY tells the story of a university lecturer named Adam (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Melanie Laurent). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him. Consumed by the desire to meet his double, Adam tracks down Anthony (Jake Gyllenhaal), an actor living with his pregnant wife Helen (Sarah Gadon) and engages him in a complex and dangerous struggle.

In terms of finding a lead actor for these dual parts, I was looking for someone who I would be able to share creativity and collaborate with,” notes Academy Award Nominated director Denis Villeneuve (INCENDIES, PRISONERS).

In Jake I found someone that was highly intelligent and creative. He had a beautiful vision for the characters. It’s always fantastic for a director when your lead actor is so good that you can just follow him instead of telling him where to go. I love that.”

When Jake's name was first put on the table we immediately realized we needed him,” recalls ENEMY Spanish producer Miguel A. Faura. “Not only is he an extremely gifted actor capable of delivering the wide range of subtleties needed for these two roles, but he has always showcased his taste and love for art and cinema in each role he has taken on. When he said yes, we felt not only lucky, but reaffirmed about the inner quality of our project.”

First and foremost I wanted to make this movie because I think Denis is an incredible filmmaker,” says Gyllenhaal. “I was really drawn to the incredible script which offered an interesting blueprint for what Denis wanted to do with this idea. When I first met with Denis and talked about the film, his idea of what it was and what he wanted it to be far surpassed what the script was saying.”

Gyllenhaal had the unique task of playing two different characters that become entwined in each other’s lives. As can be expected, there was a delicate dance involved in creating the similarities and differences between the two characters. Villeneuve and Gyllenhaal agreed early on that the differences between Adam and Anthony should lie in subtleties.

“There are so many ways that you can go with this movie and I think probably the hardest one, the most interesting one, was making Adam and Anthony as close to each other as possible,” notes Gyllenhaal. “There’s the world in which one character has a beard and the other one doesn't and one talks with a funny accent and the other one doesn't. That would have been an incredibly vain way of going about it and I think, in a way, that's exactly what this movie isn't about.

I made choices early on about the characters and, as a result, Adam and Anthony started to separate from each other. I knew that I had to fall in love with both of them and that there couldn't be any judgment for either of the characters even while being in the scene with the other one,” explains Gyllenhaal. “What’s interesting about playing two characters in the same scene is the literal comparison of what you’re doing. I actually created the character of Adam before Anthony even showed up on the scene and the first time I worked as Anthony was when he was right across from Adam.” The film centers on Adam’s psychological struggle and, as Gyllenhaal notes, the notion of struggle is very apparent in both Adam and Anthony. “These two characters are struggling with the same thing in a different way but inevitably one of them has to let go and give up in order for the other to survive. The question of which one it’s going to be is ultimately what the movie is about,” states Gyllenhaal.

Distributed by Solar Pictures, ENEMY opens in cinemas on July 30, 2014.

Tulfo Brothers Public Service Program "T3 Enforced" Airs Noontime Beginning July 21

Starting next Monday, July 21, an all-new season of TV5's one-of-a-kind public service program, "T3 Enforced" is set to premiere on its new noontime schedule of 12:30PM from Monday to Friday beginning on July 21.

Veteran News5 anchors Erwin, Raffy and Ben Tulfo continue to be at the helm of making a difference in the lives of Filipinos who find themselves at a disadvantage, by ultimately empowering them and being their voice. And with the Tulfo brothers now forming a formidable noontime force, more viewers will be able to experience for themselves how they display their strong passion and commitment in solving various problems and immediately addressing the different needs of the everyday Filipino, through the program’s various informative and intriguing daily segments.

“Tutuk Tulfo” is where Erwin gives a rare voice to abused and scandalized household help, housewives and OFWs, featuring their stories via dramatic re-enactments and ‘live phoners’. Meanwhile, individuals victimized by people of higher authority will have the chance to share their side of the story with a one-on-one interview with Raffy in “Wanted”.

Action-packed segment “Bitag” showcases various surveillance videos, caught-in-the-act scenarios and police operations that concern the general public. And, finally, the anticipated “VIP” segment will have a notable guest placed in the program’s hot seat to take part in a live, fast-paced interview that aims to finally shed light on specific anomalies and irregularities in the government or any other body of authority.

On top of these regular segments that showcase the program’s unique brand of public service, the all-new season of “T3 Enforced” will also have special segments that will highlight the lighter side of the Tulfos as well as  the positive contributions and influence the program has in society. “Saludo” starts the week off by putting the spotlight on ordinary individuals and their extraordinary, heroic stories. Tuesdays and Thursdays will showcase the various mini-outreach programs that the Tulfo brothers lead outside their busy work schedules in “Sagot Kita, Kapatid”. To offset the program’s known hard-hitting pace, “Anlabo” offers viewers a different kind of entertainment through local political satires and sarcastic stories that have a humorous approach. And finally, the week will be capped off with a special segment that checks back on former featured complainants, showing how the program has had a positive impact on them.

Noontime television will definitely be more action-packed and service-oriented as the Tulfo brothers begin their one-of-a-kind public service campaign for the everyday Filipino on weekdays at a much earlier time at 12:30PM, beginning July 21, only on TV5.

Piolo Pascual Wishes a Wife in Her 20s and 4 More Children

With his successful showbiz career, does ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual still feels a missing piece in his life? Does he plan on settling down? What more he is searching for in a woman, three years after his previous relationship?

Honestly, the time. If I want to enter in a relationship, it’s easy to happen. There are lots of girls there. But how can I give her my full attention? I have no time,” he answers in “Tapatan Ni Tunying” airing this Thursday (July 17).

Although Piolo admits that he cannot spare time for love life as of now, he says he still dreams to get married and have more children aside from his 17-year-old son Iñigo.

I want to have a wife and four more kids. I’m fond of children. I want to live with my future wife at the soonest,” shares the 37-year-old actor.

When asked for the qualities he looks for in his future wife, he answers, “I wish she will be in her 20s, or maybe mid-20s. As I said, I want four more children so I won’t go for a girl in her 30s,” he states. “Thats why I’m staying active because I want to enjoy the time with my kids even when they grow. Just like my son (Iñigo). We get to do the same thing together.”

Meanwhile, different from his usual fare as the leading man in romantic comedies, Piolo is set to make a primetime comeback via “Hawak Kamay” as a father-figure to three orphaned children on Monday (July 21).

Don’t miss the third installment of the month-long anniversary celebration of “Tapatan ni Tunying” (TNT) anchored by Anthony Taberna this Thursday (July 17) at 4PM on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold. For updates, follow @TNTunying on Twitter and Instagram, or like its Facebook page www.facebook.com/TNTunying.
