"The Legal Wife" Quotable Quotes

Source: Jennifer Dugena,

As ABS-CBN's top-rating primetime series "The Legal Wife" came to an end on Friday, June 13, let us look back on these quotable quotes from the series that stars Angel Locsin as Monica, the legal wife of Jericho Rosales’ character Adrian and Maja Salvador who portrayed Adrian’s obsessed mistress named Nicole

Quote 1: Monica (Angel Locsin)  to Nicole (Maja Salvador): “Walang sa 'yo, Nicole! Akin lang ang asawa ko!

The Scene:

Monica shouts this line in anger during the May 20 episode of the series when she finds out that Adrian and Nicole met again even after she had forgiven her husband for his infidelity. Monica was also looking forward to a new life with him in Canada.

Monica comes face to face with Nicole ready for a fight. She hits Nicole’s shoulder as she asks, “Gusto mo ng gulo? Sige! Ibibigay ko sa ‘yo!”

Nicole responds, “Wow! Empty words…di ako makikipag-sindakan sa `yo. Kung pwede lang, bumalik ka na sa boring mong bahay…Boring ka! Kaya si Adrian naghanap ng excitement sa iba…Di mo pa rin ba natatanggap naging akin si Adrian? Akin si Adrian! Akin siya! Akin siya! Akin siya! Akin siya!”

Monica slaps Nicole repeatedly to shut her up. Adrian’s wife screams at Nicole: “Walang sa`yo, Nicole! Akin lang ang asawa ko!”

“Akin lang ang asawa ko!” has become so popular it spawned Internet memes and t-shirts bearing this line.

Quote 2: Monica (Angel) to Nicole (Maja): “Masarap ba ang asawa ko?”

The Scene:

Monica rushes to Nicole’s house in the dead of night to confront her best friend after discovering her affair with Adrian.

Monica hits Nicole's shoulder as she screams at Nicole, "Sumagot ka, malandi ka!"

Nicole attempts to appeal to their friendship and calls her "Best," her term of endearment for her best friend but Monica furiously asks her: "Masarap ba? Masarap ba ang asawa ko?"

Quote 3: Monica (Angel) to Nicole (Maja): "Ano una mong tinanggal: 'yang bra mo, 'yang panty mo o yung konsensiya mo?

The Scene:

As a continuation of the confrontation scene mentioned previously, Monica slaps Nicole as the latter stands still in silence and guilt.

The spurned wife asks the mistress: "Ano una mong tinanggal: 'yang bra mo, 'yang panty mo o yung konsiyensiya mo?"

Monica suddenly grabs Nicole's hair but she is pulled back by Mark Gil's character and a maid. The furious wife also grabs her shoes and throws them at Nicole.

This popular confrontation scene was dubbed by ABS-CBN as “The Royal Rumble.”

Quote 4: Nicole (Maja) to Monica (Angel): "Oo, Monica. May nangyari sa amin ng asawa mo! At nang naulit at nang naulit at nang maulit, hindi na lang yun sex! It was making love!"

The Scene:

Monica walks in on Nicole touching Adrian’s cheeks. Enraged, Monica throws a shoe at Nicole.

Adrian rushes to Monica to pacify her.

Monica tells Nicole, “`Di mo talaga titigilan asawa ko? Mahiya ka naman..!”

Nicole shouts back, “Ano ba talaga gusto mo? Sumosobra ka na!

Incredulous, Monica asks, “Ako? Ako pa yung sumosobra ngayon? Best friend kita! Pinagkatiwalaan kita! Ano pa naman nangyayari sa inyo ng asawa ko!”

The commotion catches the attention of onlookers who take videos of the scene on their phones.

Adrian sheepishly tells Monica and Nicole, “Tama na.”

Nicole responds in anger: “Gusto mo marinig? Oo, Monica. May nangyari sa amin ng asawa mo! At nang naulit at nang naulit at nang maulit, hindi na lang yun sex! It was making love!"

Monica storms off as Adrian and a few bystanders stand in stunned silence.

Quote 5: Monica (Angel) to Nicole (Maja): "Mas cheap ka. Ako ba ang pumatol sa may asawa?"

The Scene:

Monica encounters Nicole inside a woman’s restroom. Nicole goes on the defense as she remarks, “Kung sinusundan mo ko para i-check kung sinusundan ako ng asawa mo, pwede ba? Ladies room ito, bawal si Adrian dito.”

Monica quickly answers back, “Bakit, kelan ka pa ba napigilan ng bawal?”

Nicole responds coolly with, “Oo nga, wala nga palang nakakapigil sa `kin. Kaya `wag mo akong pipilitin Monica. Baka di ako makapagpigil sayo.”

Monica dares Nicole, “Subukan mo.”

Monica calmly replies, “Knowing you, di ako magtataka kung talagang sinadya mong pumunta rito. Dahil alam mong nandito  kami ng asawa ko. Gusto mong akitin ulit si Adrian. In fact, tingnan mo suot mo. Pina-imbestigahan mo ba yung isusuot ko para lapitan ka ng asawa ko?”

Nicole smiles and attempts to one-up Monica with an insult, “Nakakapraning na ba? Ano `yan? Conspiracy theory mo? Ang cheap mo.”

Monica wins the argument with the comeback, "Mas cheap ka. Ako ba ang pumatol sa may asawa?"
Quote 6: Monica (Angel) to Nicole (Maja): “Sino ka ba para i-bakuran si Adrian? The last time I checked, ako pa rin ang legal wife…May taning ka ba sa buhay? Kasi atat na atat ka maging malaya si Adrian.

The Scene:

The latest June 6 episode saw Nicole scurry to the team-building event attended by Monica and Adrian after the latter failed to meet Nicole.

Nicole interprets Monica and Adrian’s closeness during the team-building as a threat to the happy-ever-after life she dreams with Adrian.

Despite Monica’s plan to pursue the annulment, Nicole confronts Monica anew.

Nicole asks, “Anong scheme `to Monica? Kunwari naka move-on ka na pero `pag walang nakabantay kay Adrian, kapit na kapit ka pa rin.”

Exasperated, Monica responds, “Pwede ba…”

And just like a vengeful, unhappy, bitter ex-wife, `di mo matanggap na sa akin napunta si Adrian.”

In disbelief, Monica retorts, “Whoa! Sa`n galing lahat ng selos? Sino ka ba para ibakuran si Adrian? The last time I checked, ako pa rin ang legal wife. Ikaw?

Ikaw ang number two. Ikaw ang kabit. Ikaw ang kerida. At the very most, girlfriend ka ng may asawa kaya pwede ba umarte ka ng naayon sa label.

The Scene:

In the same June 6 episode, Nicole asks her best friend Rowena (Matet de Leon) why Monica is still in Adrian’s life. Nicole insists it should now only be about Adrian and her.

Ikaw ang number two. Ikaw ang kabit. Ikaw ang kerida. At the very most, girlfriend ka ng may asawa kaya pwde ba umarte ka ng naayon sa label.”

Nicole looks at Rowena in silence.

Pregnant Rowena points at her tummy, “O, kita mo. Sumipa, nag-agree. Makinig ka kasi sa `kin.”

Quote 8: Rowena (Matet de Leon) to Nicole (Maja): "Alam mo, grabe ka. Hindi mo man lang sinabi sa akin na naiwan mo yung manners mo dito sa bahay. E, 'di sana sinunod ko sa 'yo doon!"

The Scene:

The quote above is said by Rowena, also known as the “The Legal Best friend,” after she finds out about Nicole's winning bid at an auction to get a date with Adrian.

When Nicole asks how Rowena found out about her bid to get a date with Adrian, Rowena wittily responds, "May tenga ang lupa, may Twitter ang mga bakla. Ayan, trending ka!"

Quote 9: Rowena (Matet de Leon) to Nicole (Maja): Ano bang sustansiya meron 'yan si Adrian para kailanganin mo siya para mabuhay?”

The Scene:

Rowena (Matet de Leon) gives yet another scathing lecture to Nicole.

The pregnant Nicole meekly says that she will leave Rowena’s place.

To this, Rowena retorts: "Sige! E 'di umalis ka! Pero tatandaan mo 'to -- hindi kita pinapalayas, ha. Wala kang pinakinggan kaya wala ka ring sisisihin. Ano? Sige na, umalis ka na! Humabol ka na kay Adrian, magpakabasahan ka!"

Quote 9: Nicole (Maja): “Sino bang nagmahal na di nangarap ng happy ending?

The Scene:

The line is from the series’ May 23 episode when Rowena asks Nicole to stop chasing after Adrian.

The Scene:

During the April 24 episode, Monica discovers the affair between her husband Adrian and her best friend Nicole.

Adrian goes home to a devastated Monica to patch things up. He ironically calls her, “Mahal” and tells her, “...usap tayo.”

Monica, repressing her rage, replies, “Ano pa bang sasabihin  mo? Ano pa bang dapat kong malaman? Kitang kita ko na Adrian.”

Monica stands and leaves but Adrian follows her. Monica slaps Adrian and pushes him away.

“Hayop! Hayop! Sa ilalim na ng ilong ko mga hayop kayo! Gusto ko pa sana magbulag-bulagan, gusto ko pa sana magpakatanga pero naaawa na ako sa sarili ko. Naaawa na`ko sa anak ko kasi yung nanay niya, gaga.”

“Pero ang galing n’yo ha, ang gagaling n’yo. Ang bababoy nyo, ang gagaling n’yo. Ang tanga tanga ko! Hayop! Hayop! Hayop!”

Quote 11: Nicole (Maja) to Adrian (Jericho): “Mas masarap ang cake ko Adrian. Tikman mo. Iba ang sarap, di ba?

The Scene:

Nicole and Monica are in a coffee shop with Adrian. Monica spoon-feeds a piece of cake to her husband Adrian. Nicole insists that Adrian taste a piece of her cake too. Adrian eats a piece of Nicole’s cake as Monica looks on worriedly.

Quote 12: Resort worker to Monica (Angel): “Ingat ka, maraming magnanakaw diyan sa labas.”

The Scene:

During the episode dubbed as “The Betrayal,” Adrian and Nicole have a drinking session that turns into a passionate affair.

Nicole makes the first move by suddenly kissing Adrian on the lips. He grabs her shoulder and kisses back with a vengeance.

Tension rises as Monica makes a surprise visit to the resort and she heads to the area where the two were last seen. However, the wife only sees the empty bottles since the two are already stripping each other’s clothes inside a room.

As Monica turns to leave, a resort worker gives her a warning that is ripe with meaning: “Ingat ka, maraming magnanakaw diyan sa labas.”

How about you? What are your favorite lines from The Legal Wife?

"The Legal Wife" 9 Life Lessons Enumerate

All eyes are on their TV screens Friday night as ABS-CBN's toprating primetime series "The Legal Wife" starring Angel Locsin, Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales came to its top-trending finale.

While its storyline was rather focused on the adultery between a married man and his mistress, the show was also able to present 9 life lessons every married woman should learn.

1. Trust your woman’s instincts.

Monica had long been suspecting Adrian of being unfaithful to her, but she chose to trust him and became the last one to know about Adrian’s extra-marital affair.

Any wife should trust her husband before she doubts him, but it’s a good thing to remember that a woman’s instinct is oftentimes a great built-in alarm system.

2. Being a mother doesn’t stop, even when a marriage crumbles.

Monica could have gone to pieces after knowing that the two most important people in her life - her husband and her best friend - betrayed her. But Monica shows us that even if she’s struggling with so much pain, she stayed strong and continued with her life. Uppermost in her mind is her son who needs her and is dependent on her.

3. Even if a man fails as a husband, do not take his children away from him, especially if he has been a good father.

Monica did not communicate with Adrian for two years. During those years, Adrian didn’t have communication with Bunjoy and their baby Martina. When Monica and the kids came back to the Philippines, Adrian had a hard time bonding with Bunjoy and his daughter. To them, their daddy had become a stranger.

The Legal Wife, in a roundabout way, teaches us that no matter the differences between a husband and a wife, the children should not be taken away from their parents. When they went to America, Monica could have allowed Adrian to maintain communication with his kids.

4. Distance does not always mean “escape.”

Monica leaves for the US because she knows that staying in the Philippines, where she is near Nicole and Adrian will affect her sanity. Putting as much physical distance between her and Adrian also makes her emotionally stronger and help her heal and pick up the pieces of her life.

She said, “Kailangan kong lumayo, para maging malakas.”

5. Forgiveness is a balm that fixes a broken family.

Before Monica tells Adrian that she will have their marriage annulled, she forgives him first.

Forgiveness is a balm that fixes broken relationships and puts a family back together. If forgiveness creates something beautiful out of something ugly, doesn’t Adrian deserve another chance from Monica? Will Monica find it in her heart to forgive the man she still loves and who loves her back?

6. Avoid falling in love with a man who is romantically linked to your best friend.

When Nicole fell in love with Adrian, she forgot about her friendship with Monica. Her concern has become how to get Adrian for herself.

At some point, she stopped caring how her love for Adrian is affecting her best friend’s family and marriage and how it is ruining their long time friendship.

It is a lesson that a best friend should avoid. In this situation, place your friendship above any guy.

7. The greatest revenge is a successful life.

Monica comes back after two years more beautiful and more established in her career. Her independence and the positive changes in her life make a stronger statement than if she sought negative ways of getting revenge on her husband and her best friend.

8. Be a best friend that speaks the truth, like Rowena.

From day one, Rowena (Nicole’s best friend) never made Nicole believe that she has any reason to fight for Adrian and their relationship. She tells her upfront that she is only the “mistress, number two, and querida” of Adrian.

This teaches us never to lie to our best friends if ever they are erring in their ways. The truth will hurt them big time but it is the only way to “set them free.”

9. There’s more to the mistress than just being the other woman.

In The Legal Wife, Nicole is not just a cardboard character. We get to know her as someone who has never felt truly loved.

Her father was close to Monica and not her. When she loved Max, Max loved another woman. In Adrian, ironically, even though Adrian has a wife and loves Monica, Nicole feels whole and loved. And once more, she clings to a man who is never truly hers.

PBB All In 8 Counts of Sanction Released by MTRCB

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has imposed strict rules on ABS-CBN's reality show "Pinoy Big Brother All In" following a weekly task controversy where Big Brother was shown urging housemate Jayme Jalandoni to pose nude for a painting that would raise funds for charity.

Jayme, who is vocal about being a devoted Christian, backed out from the nude painting challenge together with three other housemates Ranty Portento, Michelle Gumabao and Daniel Matsunaga who were supposed to accompany her.

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) first raised concerns about the nude painting challenge. Legislators such as Senator Pia Cayetano, who pointed out that "Even if their team eventually backed out, the violation had been done," demanded a public apology from the show’s producers while Senator Nancy Binay pointed out that the "contestants, especially its female housemates, should be accorded with respect without compromising their dignity and their rights as women." Binay also revealed that she plans to file a resolution on the issue within the week.

As a result, the producers of PBB All In issued an apology that was aired on the primetime edition of the reality show on Wednesday, June 11 (read the full apology HERE).

Last June 10, ABS-CBN executives and members of PBB creative team attended a mandatory conference organized by the MTRCB.

The MTRCB also issued a resolution that is publicly posted on its Twitter account (@MTRCBgov):

MTRCB directs ABS-CBN to issue public apology and commit to gender-sensitive programs.

The government agency also orders PBB All In to adopt gender-sensitive measures including seminar in coordination with the PCW.

In addition, the episodes of the show will have to undergo a Per Episode Post Review by the MTRCB until the end of the show.

MTRCB reminds PBB:All-In to ensure the dignity of women and observe audience-sensitivity.

MTRCB directs PBB:All-In to impose SPG rating, if warranted.

PBB:All-In subjected to 3-month period of close collaboration with MTRCB for gender-sensitivity reforms.

MTRCB directs PBB All In to make housemates make free and informed choices.

Any violation found as a result of post review in PBB All In case will be subject to further sanction, after observance of due process.

New "It's More Fun in the Philippines" Ads Released

The Philippine capital of Manila gets the spotlight in the newest ad for the Department of Tourism’s “It’s more fun in the Philippines” campaign.

Manila was referred to as the “capital of fun” in a video released by DOT on YouTube on June 12, Independence Day.

The 33-second clip featured different sights from Manila, with a song describing the city playing in the background.

Part of the lyrics went:

Quick bites, foodie finds / Nice smiles, wild style / Cheap thrills, sky-high / Knick knacks.

Welcome back / Every corner fun, fun fun / Manila / Welcome back.

According to DOT, the new ad “shows Manila as the city that has everything under the sun.”

Watch the video below:

The “It’s more fun in the Philippines” campaign was launched in 2012, with the slogan pitched worldwide via ads on CNN as well as tourist kiosks in selected countries.

TV5 International Named Exclusive Media Partner 116th Philippine Independence Day Festival in New York, USA

TV5 International officially kicked-off the celebrations of the much-awaited 116th Philippine Independence Day Festival recently held in New York City, USA, with over 100,000 Filipinos from all over the North American region joining the annual event that is widely regarded as the largest Philippine Independence Day festival both in the US and, more notably, outside of the Philippines.

TV5 International President and CEO Claro Carmelo Ramirez shares, “This is actually the second time TV5 International was invited to be part of this historic event, but what makes this year even more special is the fact that we were the only Philippine broadcasting network that was named by the Philippine Independence Day Council Inc. (PIDCI)—the organization hosting the said festival—as the event’s official Media Partner. For us, this milestone further validated TV5 International’s continuous growth in North America.”

Leading the TV5 International contingent in the festival was none other than the main star of the Kapatid Network’s daily tawaserye, “Confessions of a Torpe”, Ogie Alcasid. The singer-songwriter surely did not disappoint the 100,000-strong Filipino crowd as he initially made his way through the parade in TV5’s grand mardi gras-themed float and ended up on stage, treating the crowd to a mini-concert as he belted out his signature hits and a few all-time favorite songs that they gamely sang along to.

In addition to this, the crowd also had a full day of fun and entertainment  in the street fair along the famed Madison Avenue, as TV5 International installed a jumbotron that aired some of TV5’s most watched programs, which included the action-packed PBA games, the channel’s longest running gag show, “Wow Mali Pa Rin”, and “Ganito Na Kami Ngayon”, which is TV5 International’s first-ever originally-produced program.

A remarkable highlight of the festival was TV5 International’s “Augmented Reality” booth, which proved to be a certified crowd-drawer, where fans got to ‘interact’ with their favorite Kapatid stars through a computer-generated sensory input.

As the exclusive Media Partner of this celebration, we really wanted to pull out all the stops to make sure that the attendees had an enhanced TV5 experience through a different and innovative kind of entertainment. Our 'Augmented Reality' booth is the first of its kind by a Filipino company, and we felt that this event was the perfect occasion to introduce this to our viewers,” says TV5 International FVP and Head of Marketing Pie Basiao.

Also notably gracing the celebration was Philippine Consul General Mario de Leon Jr., President of the Philippine Independence Day Council Inc. (PIDCI) Fe Martinez, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young, who was last seen in TV5’s daily primetime series “Misibis Bay” prior to bagging the Miss World crown.

In closing, Ramirez shares, “TV5 International has had a terrific start to this year, what with the company milestone of being named as the second strongest Pinoy network in the Middle East and North Africa in just a matter of three years. And now, we are celebrating yet another milestone, this time in North America, after being named the ONLY Philippine broadcasting network to headline this year’s largest Philippine Independence Day celebration outside the country. With the momentum of our success in full-swing, our loyal Pinoy viewers and subscribers from the other parts of the world can definitely expect that TV5 International will soon make its way there, with a lot more surprises up our sleeves.”

Adam Levine Expands His Horizon; Stars in His Very First Movie "Begin Again"

Although he’s no stranger to the camera, having been a coach on the NBC show “The Voice” for several seasons, and making his small screen acting debut on the hit FX Drama “American Horror Story,” music star Adam Levine has never tried dramatic acting until he was approached by John Carney to be part of the upcoming movie “Begin Again.”

I was honored just to be asked, and right off the bat I fell in love with the script.  To have John believe in me is really exciting,” says Levine.  “John saw something in me that was this character Dave - whether that is flattering or not, I can’t tell, but I would not have considered doing a film unless I was really connected to the material.  I love John’s tone – he is a musician, and I think his sensibilities are those of a musician so we get along famously.”

The latest film from writer-director John Carney (Once), Begin Again is a soul-stirring comedy about what happens when lost souls meet and make beautiful music together.

The music was easy,” admits Levine after shooting.  “That’s kind of my wheelhouse, I guess, but the acting has been quite a challenge in a really great way.  The only thing people said to me was ‘know your lines’ and ‘don’t act, just listen and react,’ and that was great advice.  I’ve also found that being comfortable and receptive to direction makes it a lot easier.  It was daunting going into this new world, but everyone was so sweet and made me feel comfortable and at home, so I felt like I was doing my best even though I had relatively little experience.

As the front man of Grammy Award-winning recording artist Maroon 5, Adam Levine has left an indelible mark on popular music. Levine has also collaborated with various musical acts including Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Natasha Bedingfield, Slash and K'naan. Levine has also made several appearances on television, including “Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and Comedy Central's “Night of Too Many Stars.”

It might sound heavy to say,” concludes Levine, “but the film asks the question: can a song save your life?  I do believe that the energy you feel when you hear a song that you respond to emotionally – it can change your life, and maybe save it in a way.  Music saved my life, because I love it so much that I don’t know what I would do without it.”

Adam Levine and Keira Knightley make sweet music together in this clip from Begin Again:

Begin Again also stars Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, and Levine’s fellow judge from The Voice, CeeLo Green.

Produced by Anthony Bregman at Likely Story, Tobin Armbrust of Exclusive Media and Judd Apatow at Apatow Productions, Begin Again opens on July 9, 2014 in theaters nationwide and is distributed locally by Solar Pictures.

Lea Salonga Recruits Mitoy Yonting, Sarah Geronimo Uses John Lloyd Cruz to Persuade The Voice Kids Contestants to Join Their Teams

The three coaches of “The Voice Kids” never seem to run out of creative ways to woo young artists to join their respective teams, and the competition among them heats up even further this weekend (June 14-15) as coach Lea Salonga summons Season 1 grand winner Mitoy on stage to convince a kid to be part of Team Lea.

Not one to be upstaged, coach Sarah Geronimo brings up the name of her “bebe” John Lloyd Cruz and promises the said young artist that she will get her to meet the actor if the aspiring artist chooses her as coach. For which gimmick will the kid fall?

Coach Bamboo, meanwhile, also brings his “A” game to recruit outstanding artists and build a formidable Kamp Kawayan.

Watch out for impressive young artists in the continuation of the Blind Auditions, including a boy performer who is a son of a former singer, a kid who dreams of becoming the country’s Prince of Jazz, a die-hard KathNiel fan, and a young artist who lies down to practice and improve his singing skills.

As it continues to find the best voices of young Filipino artists, “The Voice Kids,” the most watched program in the country last May, also continues its winning streak in the TV ratings game this month, according to data from Kantar Media. Last Saturday (June 7), more viewers tuned in to the program when it hit a national TV rating of 34.4% versus “GMA’s Blockbusters ‘Shrek The Third’” (15.8%). The vocal competition also reached its all-time high national TV rating of 37.6% last Sunday (June 8) or 22 points higher than that of “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” (15.1%).

The fourth week of the Blind Auditions signals the anticipation for the next stage of the competition as the coaches build up their respective teams composed of 18 artists. Watch out for the heart-stopping Battle Rounds that will kick off in two weeks and will determine each team’s best young artists.

Don’t miss “The Voice Kids” on Saturdays, 6:45 PM and Sundays, 7:30 PM on ABS-CBN’s Yes Weekend. For updates on the program,, like, or follow @thevoiceabscbn on Twitter and @abscbnthevoice on Instagram.
