Vilma Rates Future Daughter-in-Law Angel Locsin a "9. Pero 10 'pag mag-asawa na sila."

Veteran actress and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos also speaks about the romantic reconciliation of her son Luis Manzano and "The Legal Wife" actress Angel Locsin.
Ba’t ba ang chismosa ko? ‘Di ba dapat sila?” was Santos’ reaction when asked by Anthony Taberna on Kapamilya afternoon News and Current Affairs show "Tapatan Ni Tunying" about her son’s relationship status with Angel. She elaborated later on that Luis did tell her that he was seeing his ex-girlfriend again. The actress-turned-politician said she asked her son if he and Angel are back together and his answer was, “We are trying to fix things.”

On rumors about the couple’s upcoming wedding, Gov. Vi has only this to say, “Pag ready na sila. Ang alam ko lang masaya sila ngayon,” adding that she has no problems if Luis marries Angel. “Wala naman problema, ‘di naman ako ang makikisama. Plus the fact na ‘di na bago si Angel, at least I know they are back and maligaya sila sa isa’t isa, mas maligaya kami [family] for them.”

Gov. Vi also shares she sees a lot of positive traits in her ‘future daughter in law.’ “Isa siguro sa naappreciate ko kay Angel, nakikita naman ng mga tao eh is matulungin. If there’s anything na pwede siya mag-share ng kanyang maiaabot na tulong kapag merong kalamidad, she’s always there. And that’s a good sign. Kung papano niya alagaan, bigyan ng respeto yung tatay niya na may diprensya, importante yun.”

On the scale of 1 to 10, Gov. Vilma says she rates Angel a ‘9’. “9. Pag mag-asawa na [sila] 10.”

TV5's Comedy Series "Confessions of a Torpe" Changes the Landscape of Primetime TV Viewing Habit

TV5's Comedy Series "Confessions of a Torpe" Changes the Landscape of Primetime TV Viewing Habit

Coming from the success of its barangay tawa-serye Madam Chairman, TV5 continues to change the game in TVprogramming by offering another light and alternative primetime series with a heart-warming plot that is fit for the whole family.

At their recently-held press launch at Oasis Manila in Quezon City, the Kapatid network proudly presented their newest romantic comedy series Confessions Of A Torpe, a crazy story about love and the many ways to (not) express it.

Starring Ogie Alcasid, Gelli de Belen, Wendell Ramos and Alice Dixson, with young stars Mark Neumann, Shaira Mae and Albie Casino, the series follows the story of Christopher “Tupe” Matacutin (played by Ogie Alcasid), a 40 year old certified torpe (and virgin) who becomes a victim of a family curse. Because of theirkatorpehan, all men in Tupe’s family remain a bachelor. The same goes for Tupe who, despite being the perfect gentleman, cannot make his move to win the heart of his muse: the gorgeous, God’s gift to mankind, Monique Salcedo (Alice Dixson).

Hoping to “break the curse” like him is his nephew from Croatia, Hanley Kubrick (Mark Neumann). Despite spending most of his teenage years in the abroad, he is very shy around girls. And while Hanley stays here in the country, Tupe must help him overcome his katorpehan so that both of them can break away from their curse.

Stakes get higher as Tupe’s love-of-his-life, Monique, returns to the Philippines to try her luck on something she has never been successful before – love. While this gives Tupe another shot at romance, things will not be easier as his number one bully, Peter ‘Mr. Big’ Malaqui (Wendell Ramos), also returns to terrorize him once again. Fortunately, Tupe finds comfort in Luzvinda ‘Luz’ Mabuti (Gelli de Belen), his best friend and forever confidante who also secretly has feelings for him.

Will Tupe win Monique’s heart? Is he the long overdue romance destined for Monique? And what about Luz? Will she ever be able to confess her feelings for Tupe? Who will end up victorious in this comic story of failed attempts on love and romance?

Completing the cast of Confessions of a Torpe are Bayani Agbayani, Jojo Alejar, Mike Lloren, Gerry Acao, Ms. Bibeth Orteza and Ms. Pilita Corales.

Confessions Of A Torpe premieres on TV5 this Monday, March 3, at 7:30PM, replacing Madam Chairman.

Dawn Jimenez Takes Everything Off on the Cover of UNO Magazine 92 Issue

Here at UNO, we know men. We really do. And we know that if you have someone as hot and delectable as Dawn Jimenez waiting for you at home or in the office, you'd be hard-pressed to leave either place, right?

Or, because you know where to find her, you'd try to catch her again in her break-out role during THE climactic scene in On The Job, a movie about prisoners exiting prison to become hired hit men for corrupt government officials. Dawn surprised everyone as she took everything off for her wild love scene with Gerald Anderson, whose character didn't get any action for several months. Everything. She didn't even leave the cover on.

Her willingness to be daring however paid off, as Dawn scored her first cover for UNO and an upcoming role in the ABS-CBN afternoon teleserye Moon of Desire.

For UNO's 92 issue, she gets down, dirty and simply delicious for her cover shoot. Donning the teensiest red and black lace lingerie, Dawn nibbles ever so gently or sometimes fiercely on a luscious piece of chocolate in the photos.

She reveals her thoughts on nabbing the role in OTJ and her excitement at being in a new afternoon teleserye with JC De Vera, Meg Imperial and Ellen Adarna.

She wasn't afraid to get all wet and lathered in chocolate for this UNO cover either. Dawn, with a sweet smile that could melt the hardest heart or chocolate, is actually a lover of zombie movies, even the low-budget ones, a fact that will surely get many a guy's attention.

Well, if the first few pages of Dawn's body in chocolate, with chocolate, on chocolate still didn't get your heart pumping (you must be cold-blooded then), perhaps the last spread will get a rise out of you.

Dawn. Chocolate spread ever so messily all over her body. And finger-licking. That should be enough right?

Well, this 92nd UNO issue also has some other articles that will get you excited and blood flowing to other parts of your body.

Like the Places to Dayo For, a food feature that takes you to different kinds of hole-in-the-wall restos from North, South to Central Metro Manila. If you are still hungry after this feature, you can go back for some more Dawn.

Or you can impress your girl with your vast knowledge of wines, especially if all you've been drinking all your life is beer. Your wine expertise is sure to get your girl excited and more...fluid.

And we didn't forget to include a feature in this issue for that other part of you that also does some thinking...your brain. Atom Araullo, the big shot broadcast journalist gets intimate and shares about his rise to fame and how this alpha male manages it all: work, fame, and love.

So go ahead, feel free to grab UNO's 92 issue. Everyone deserves a bite of chocolate-y happiness.

UNO magazine is available in all leading bookstores and magazine stands nationwide.

Empress Schuck on Network Transfer, Falling Out with Kim Chiu

Empress Schuck on Network Transfer, Falling Out with Kim Chiu

Three years after she topbilled the afternoon drama-fantaserye "Rosalka" on ABS-CBN, nothing major was heard of Empress Schuck as far as her career is concern. She might had cameo appearances on Maalaala Mo Kaya and the defunct primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" but no title role was given to her eversince.

"Wala talaga for now. Hindi ko alam kung bakit wala pa, kung bakit medyo matagal. Pero siguro they [Star Magic] have their reasons kung bakit wala. Pero darating talaga ang time na maiinip ka, mag-iisip ka, 'Ba't wala pa?

Is network transfer possible at this time?

"Ewan ko, marami pa rin namang opportunities sa ibang lugar. May times kasi na kailangan ko ring mag-move on. Sabi ko nga, marami pang opportunities na puwede kong pasukan. So, tingnan natin kung sino pa ang gustong kumuha sa akin or whatever." she said.

"Pero kung gusto pa nila akong mag-stay, mapag-uusapan din naman." Empress further clarified.

Empress also reacted on Kim Chiu's recent statement that she only considered her perennial partner Xian Lim as her only friend in showbiz. (Empress and Kim, together with Kapamilya actresses Melissa Ricks, Erich Gonzales, Beauty Gonzalez, and Kitkat Banas used to form a showbiz alliance called “ChuRiGoGoBaSchu” but had a falling out when Kim decided to be friends with Maja Salvador whom she also had a serious misunderstanding because of Gerald Anderson.

"Deadma na lang. Kung yun talaga yung pakiramdam niya eh, yun yung gusto nya, sa tingin niya okay na. Wala kaming kinalaman. Okay kami ni Kim, nagsasama kami sa ASAP. Okay kami, never kami nagkaaway. Sa iba, honestly I dont want to say, halata naman na pero I can’t talk about that kasi desisyon niya yun eh. Okay ako with others but it’s just sad na hindi na katulad ng dati. Siguro masasabi ko lang na na-outgrow namin ang sarili namin. Parang isang relationship, magkasama kayo sa umpisa pero habang tumatagal nagiging ibang tao kayo. Hindi naman in a bad way, may good way rin naman. Meron din nag-se-separate kayo in a good way kasi may iba pala kayong gustong gawin, parang nag-iba yung mga taong gusto niyong samahan, may iba yung ugali.

Rain Or Shine Walkout Costs the PBA Team P2-M Fine

Rain Or Shine Walkout Costs the PBA Team P2-M Fine

It's a double ding for PLDT MyDSL 2014 PBA Philippine Cup first placer Rain or Shine Elasto Painter.

A day after losing to San Mig Super Coffee Mixers on Wednesday, the team is facing a huge sanction after walking out in the second quarter of Game 6.

Fiery head coach Yeng Guiao led a walkout of his team early in the second quarter, protesting what he felt was “spotty officiating” against the Elasto Painters, the PBA website reported.

They eventually returned to the floor after just a few minutes, but it was later reported that Rain or Shine team governor Mert Mondragon has been summoned by PBA Commissioner Chito Salud in a meeting Thursday.

League rules on walkouts state that a team that stages a “partial walkout” will be fined P2 million.

The Elasto Painters did return to the floor before the 15-minute grace period expired.

At the resumption of the game, San Mig stretched its lead to as much as 17 points, 49-32, but Rain or Shine clawed its way back to the game and entered halftime down by just six, 43-49. They would take the lead for the first time in the third quarter, 62-60.

But it was the San Mig Coffee Mixers who hit all the big shots and made the defensive stops in crunch time to win 93-87 and claim the Philippine Cup.

According to the PBA website, the Elasto Painters are the fourth team in league history to stage a walkout.

Anejo Rum walked out in 1990 and was fined P500,000. Talk 'N Text also memorably staged a walkout in a playoff game 2010, and fined P1 million. Red Bull also attempted to walk out in 2006 but returned to the playing court.

Cressida Bonas and Prince Harry Wedding Proposal, Plans, Details

OK! Magazine reports that Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas might tie the knot soon following a secret proposal that happened recently.

The couple reportedly plan to announce their engagement soon, but Prince Harry is waiting until he has completed certain royal protocols first.

He needs to go through certain royal protocols, such as asking his grandmother’s permission,” the insider revealed. “Palace sources say there’s not been a formal request made to her majesty yet, but the fact we’re hearing about it means it’s likely he’s already popped the question and they’re waiting until all the boxes are ticked before formally announcing it.”

According to the report, the Queen would be pleased with their engagement. Apparently, Cressida reminds her of her late sister Princess Margaret.

It’s no secret the queen would dearly love to see her roguish grandson settle down, and she thinks Cressy is his ideal match,” the source explained. “She likes that [Cressy] comes from a good family, plus she has a twinkle in her eye that reminds [the queen] of her sister, the late Princess Margaret.

Will the couple have a large wedding? Well, the insider believes they won’t plan a wedding as big as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, but because Prince Harry is so popular, he might actually attract more public interest.

There’s no way it will be as huge,” the insider explained. “The heir to the throne was always going to be a huge spectacle with pomp and circumstance. Harry is unbelievably popular with the British public because of his naughty behavior, there’s not a Brit alive who won’t want to witness this event.

Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas have been dating for over a year now.

Joey de Leon Returns to Primetime TV Sitcom via TV5’ “One of The Boys”

Joey de Leon Returns to Primetime TV Sitcom via TV5’ “One of The Boys”

After 7 long years, veteran actor and comedian Joey de Leon finally makes his much-awaited comeback to the sitcom genre as he top-bills TV5’s upcoming primetime offering, One of the Boys, which will air in March.

Joey has hosted a number of TV5 programs, including the reality show Hayop sa Galing, the game show Game ‘N Go, and the longest running gag show in the country, Wow Mali Pa Rin, which is also directed by One of the Boys director Robert Quebral.

TV5’s Business Unit Head of One of the Boys, JoAnn Bañaga, shares, “This is the first time I have worked with Joey de Leon, and I, together with whole cast and crew, am just amazed at his passion for humor. Joey’s fans will definitely be happy to see him finally back in a sitcom after a long respite.

In One of the Boys, Joey plays Daddy Jerry or ‘DJ’, the father figure of the whole cast. As DJ, he will be reintroducing family values unique to the Filipino culture, which adds a whole new element to the sitcom that is not found in other television programs nowadays.

Aside from Joey, the show parades a unique mix of cast members that will surely add to the funny antics viewers can expect in the show, with TV5 drama princess Eula Caballero, the five Brinoy hunks who compose the popular group Juan Direction—Daniel Marsh, Henry Edwards, Charlie Sutcliffe, Brian Wilson and Michael McDonnell—and Joey’s sidekick on the show, Empoy.

Also joining TV5’s new weekly program are Kapatid stars Nadine Samonte, Artista Academy’s Benjo Leonico and other surprise weekly guest comedians.

TV5’s JoAnn Bañaga also discloses, “We definitely have a lot of new faces in the show, and for some of them, this is actually their first foray into the comedy genre, like Juan Direction and Nadine Samonte, but you will see that the whole cast really clicks, and this is mainly because of Joey de Leon. For these younger actors, every taping is like a priceless crash course to acting and comedy with Joey, and they really do enjoy and cherish it. Ultimately, Joey is the anchor of One of the Boys, and you can really tell that in more ways than one, he is the father of this whole cast.

“Muppets Most Wanted” Sets in an Action-Comedy-Musical Adventure Around Europe

“Muppets Most Wanted” Sets in an Action-Comedy-Musical Adventure Around Europe

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon, and Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard.

“It’s an old-style caper movie,” says director James Bobin (Disney’s “The Muppets,” “Flight of the Conchords”). “Muppet movies often have very classic movie tropes, and the evil doppelganger—a bad-guy, evil-frog, Kermit-the-Frog look-alike—seemed like such a fun premise for the Muppets’ next film.”

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” is produced by David Hoberman (“Warm Bodies,” “The Proposal”) and Todd Lieberman (“The Fighter”). Bobin wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Stoller (“The Neighbors,” “The Five-Year Engagement”), who is also executive producer with John G. Scotti (“The Incredible Hulk”).

The audience really embraced the Muppets with our big-screen come-back two years ago,” says Lieberman. “They love the Muppets like we all did growing up—Kermit and the gang are as relevant today as they were 30 years ago. We realized that there was a lot of enthusiasm for these characters so we wanted to bring them back—but with a completely different story and all-new human cast.

It takes a special actor to work with the Muppets,” adds Hoberman. “There has to be a passion for these characters, a genuine belief in them and an appreciation for their performances. Ricky, Ty and Tina all have a natural rapport with Kermit, Piggy and the gang—which shows on screen. It would be impossible to pull off a movie like this without the right chemistry.

Bobin says the cast and filmmakers may have created an all new genre for “Muppets Most Wanted.” “We have comedy. We have a caper. And we have songs. To me, it’s an action-comedy-musical—and I don’t think there are many of those around.”

Featuring music from Academy Award®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie, “Muppets Most Wanted” opens across the Philippines on March 21 and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures
