Miss Philippines Ariella Arida Receives Praises from Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo

Miss Philippines Ariella Arida Receives Praises from Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo

"Gorgeous!" This was how the reigning Miss Universe, Olivia Culpo of the United States, described Miss Philippines Ariella Arida.

The 21-year-old Rhode Island beauty recently met with the Philippines' representative to the 2013 Miss Universe pageant at the National Gift Auction at Crocus City Mall in Moscow, Russia.

The auction was one of the pre-pageant activities of the 62nd Miss Universe, which will hold its coronation night at the Crocus City Hall on November 10.

In a post on image-sharing service Instagram on Thursday, Culpo shared a photo of her with the 24-year-old Arida at the event. Culpo, in the photo's caption, referred to Arida as "the gorgeous Miss Philippines."

The Filipina beauty, on her own Instagram page, re-posted the photo shortly after. "I'm so happy seeing this," Arida said in the caption. "Thank you to the sweet, nice and very gorgeous Ms. Olivia!"

Several commenters, who appear to be Filipino, tagged Culpo in the original post as they referred to Arida as "your successor."

Arida is hoping to surpass the successes of her last three predecessors in Miss Universe – Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon – who all finished in the international pageant's Top 5. - ABS-CBNNews.com

The Game 7 high registered a 41.7% audience share and a 9.5% AMR based on the Nielsen Media National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data covering October 25.  Further, the numbers have already exceeded the figures posted last May during the Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

Chris Brown Dances Like There's No Tomorrow in “Battle of The Year”

Chris Brown Dances Like There's  No Tomorrow in “Battle of The Year”

The cast of Columbia Pictures' new dance movie “Battle of the Year” combines experienced actors with top street dancers to create a visceral and authentic picture of the reality of life as a b-boy or “break-dancer.”

“Battle of the Year” is the Olympics of break dancing, a tournament held every year that attracts all the best teams from around the world, but the Americans haven't won in fifteen years. Los Angeles Hip Hop mogul and former B-Boy Dante (Laz Alonso) wants to put the country that started the Sport back on top. He enlists his hard-luck friend Blake (Kosh Holloway), who was a championship basketball coach, to coach his team. Armed with the theory that the right coach can make any team champions, they assemble a Dream Team of all the best b-boys across the country. With only three months until Battle of the Year, Blake has to use every tactic he knows to get twelve talented individuals to come together as a team if they're going to bring the Trophy back to America where it started. Inspired by the actual World championship held yearly in France.

Grammy®-winning recording artist Chris Brown plays Rooster, one of the most outstanding dancers on the Dream team. “I wasn’t really familiar with Chris Brown’s music, but I was completely blown away by his talent,” says director Benson Lee. “Chris is the consummate performer. He really respects the craft of b-boying. He trained rigorously and his natural swagger is perfect for Rooster. He owns this character and there’s no doubt that he’s one of the best dancers out there today, but he’s one of the boys on the set. He doesn’t play the diva card at all.”

Rooster becomes one of the group’s leaders, which the filmmakers say came naturally to Brown. “Chris brings so many things to this role like this,” according to producer Tripp Vinson. “It was a privilege to watch him work and he was a lot of fun to have on set.”

Brown has been interested in b-boying since he was a kid and his natural aptitude for dance helped him pick up the finer points relatively quickly. Still, he says this was the most difficult dancing he has ever done. “Nobody’s faking anything here,” says Brown. “Working with these guys was inspiring for me. They really pushed me to do my best because they were so serious. They were always willing to show me how to do a move and they were really encouraging. I learned a lot and I think I walked away from this movie with a lot of new friendships.

Brown says he loves acting and is always open to an interesting part, but he was hesitant to accept a role in a film about dance, especially since he is already well-known for his musical performances. “The script was incredible, though,” he says. “The characters and the story made me want to be a part of it.”

Brown quickly learned that there’s a big difference between performing and battling. “When I go out on stage in front of 15,000 people, I know they came to see me,” he says. “Battling is ten times as hard because you face the judgment. If you mess up, they let you know.”

To be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide starting November 6, “Battle of the Year” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Coco Martin Breaks TV Records

Coco Martin Breaks TV Records

”Juan dela Cruz“ the ABS-CBN series starring Coco Martin as a superhero, ended on a high note last Friday as it pulled away as the No. 1 TV show in the Philippines.

The final episode of "Juan dela Cruz," according to data from the multi-national market research group Kantar Media, scored a whopping 38.3% in national TV ratings.

This is almost 10 percentage points ahead of its trailing programs -- ABS-CBN's "TV Patrol" and "Got to Believe" -- which both garnered a nationwide rating of 29.8%.

The October 25 episode of "Juan dela Cruz" also drowned out its rival program aired on GMA-7, "Genesis," in audience share. The latter, according to Kantar Media, only registered 12.6% in national TV ratings.

The finale viewership of the ABS-CBN "fantaserye" was a near replication of its all-time highest rating - 42.6% during its debut month in February.

Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes, representing 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

In the final episode of "Juan dela Cruz," the "Tagabantay" portrayed by Martin trades in his iconic camisa de chino for a barong as he marries the love of his life, Rosario, played by Erich Gonzales.

Juan also reflects on his turn as a country's celebrated hero from being a regular boy in the streets of Quiapo.

In an apparent nod to "Juan dela Cruz" as a term used to personify the Philippines, he declares anyone who chooses good, and who does not turn a blind eye to wrongdoings, is his own hero.

Produced by ABS-CBN's Dreamscape Entertainment Television, the series was helmed by directors Malu Sevilla, Avel Sunpongco, Jojo Saguin, Darnel Villaflor; along with headwriter Sugho Praico; and writers Philip King, Johnjo Tuason, Keavy Vicente.

The original concept of the series was created by Julie Ann Senitez, Ethel Espiritu, Dindo Perez, Praico, and Lino Cayetano.

"Juan dela Cruz" was seen as a follow-up to the Kapamilya network's tradition of offering inspirational stories, after the likes of "May Bukas Pa" (2009) and "100 Days to Heaven" (2011).

Miss Universe 2013 Top 15 Leaked; Miss Philippines Ranked 12th

Miss Universe preliminary judge Elena Semikina did not turn heads when she competed for Miss Universe in 2010 where she failed to make it to the Top 16. However, she might be getting attention in Moscow as she allegedly posted an Instagram photo of the preliminary rankings.

Pageant site Missossology posted the instagram photo with the user name @elenasemikina, exactly the same Instagram handle and the same profile picture of the former Miss Universe- Canada. Despite the blurred effects and filters, the countries are still visible. Revealed as leaders in the competition are Great Britain's Amy Willerton (1st), Spain's Patricia Rodriguez (2nd), Poland's Paulina Krupinska (3rd), Ukraine's Olga Storozhensko (4th), Venezuela's Maria Gabriela Isler (5th) and Russia's Elmira Abdrazakova (6th).

The same photo revealed that our very own Miss Philippines Ariella Arida is ranked 12th, just behind Netherlands's Stephanie Tency (10th) and USA's Erin Brady (11th). The countries ranked from 7th to 9th are not readable. Following Miss Philippines is Brazil's Jakelyne Oliveira who is ranked 13th. Sixteen girls will be called at the pageant's live show who will all advance to the next round.

The Lifestyle Hub checked @elenasemikina's Instagram account and did not found the said post. Pageant insiders said that the beauty queen removed the content following instructions by her handlers and the Miss Universe Organization. Semikina is now known as an actress and a documentary film producer in her native Canada.

Elmo Magalona and Janine Gutierrez Love Affair Begins in "Villa Quintana" Remake

Elmo Magalona and Janine Gutierrez Love Affair Begins in "Villa Quintana"

This November, GMA Network presents Villa Quintana, a heartwarming love story that became a phenomenal hit series in the mid-90s. Mothers today are definitely sentimental when they reminisce the love between Isagani and Lynette, originally portrayed by Keempee de Leon and Donna Cruz.

Kapuso teen heartthrob Elmo Magalona and promising Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez reprise the roles, driving strong anticipation among fans of the original series, reaffirming that their first team-up on-screen is one of this year's most exciting casting coups.

As they breathe life into the characters of Isagani Samonte and Lynette Quintana, they retell a great love story in a way that best represents how sweet young love can be. Women, young and old, would definitely fall in love once again with Villa Quintana's triumphant celebration of love amidst challenges.

Isagani (Elmo) is the lovechild of Robert and Lumeng but will grow up knowing his father is Felix. He lives a simple life in the farm together with his parents. He eventually falls and fights for his love for Lynette. Meanwhile, Lynette (Janine) will be mistaken by Don Manolo as the child of Robert and Lumeng. Thus she grows up living a very comfortable and affluent life. She requites Isagani's affection. And their love for each other will once again become television's finest romantic tale.

Villa Quintana is not only an acting piece for the new team up of Elmo and Janine but also the show’s love triangle of bankable stars: Raymart Santiago, Sunshine Dizon and Paolo Contis.

Raymart plays the role of Felix Samonte. He stood as the father of Isagani when Robert abandoned Lumeng and because he always loved Lumeng, he married her to save her from disgrace. He is a kind, understanding and patient person but he also fights for what he believes in. Paolo portrays the role of Robert Quintana, the only son of Don Manolo and the real father of Isagani. He falls in love with Lumeng but Don Manolo is against it because Lumeng is not from a prominent and landed family.

Lumeng Samonte, the mother of Isagani is portrayed by Sunshine. Robert was her first love but she eventually married Felix. She is smart, fearless and has a strong and positive outlook in life. She focuses on possibilities rather than life’s challenges and will stand up and fight for her family and for what they rightfully deserve.

Villa Quintana is inspiring as it fulfills every woman's aspiration for a good family life, characterized by unwavering love for each and every member. The show also upholds every viewer's pursuit of love and self-significance that affluence nor poverty could ever scorn.

The series is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, their family's tension against the brewing romance that's driven by past hurts and offenses. Lumeng is not in favor of the relationship because of how the Quintanas treated her when she was younger. But Isagani will continue to fight for his love for Lynette, despite his mother’s objections and while the Quintanas betroth Lynette to a young man who also comes from a wealthy and influential clan. Being educated abroad, Lynette affirms her independence and upholds her right to choose the man she loves, which results to a bitter struggle with her family, particularly her grandfather Don Manolo who is against any type of modernization.

Nothing can separate Isagani and Lynette, not even the manipulative pressures from the Quintanas.

Everything changes when Lumeng discovers a secret of the Quintanas that overturns odds, a detail from the past that affects the fate of the young couple's love for each other.

Will the revelation affect the love between Isagani and Lynette? Or will their love for each other prevail? How will their families accept the truth?

Under the direction of Ms. Gina Alajar, the remake of the 90’s hit series Villa Quintana will not only tackle love but also family values, relationships and principles worth fighting for.

The show also stars Roy Alvarez as Don Manolo Quintana, Maricar De Mesa as Stella, Tanya Garcia as Amparing, Kyla as Ruby, Marky Lopez as Chito, Juancho Trivino as Jason and Rita de Guzman as Patrice.

Michael V. to Host TV5’s "Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman"

Michael V. to Host TV5’s "Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman"

Michael V. will soon headlines TV5's Saturday night programming as he is set to host "Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman," the localized version of the US show Killer Karaoke, which will premiere on November 16 at 9 p.m.

For now, I will be hosting as myself. The template being presented to us is just lending such opportunity. We will see what other things we can add to it eventually. But rest assured, we will do everything for the enjoyment of the televiewers,” said the well-known master-of-disguise-and-impersonation when asked if he will be creating another funny character for the show.

With his return to TV5, where his TV career started in Tropang Trumpo, Michael V is following in the footsteps of fellow comedian-hosts Joey de Leon and Vic Sotto who work in two stations at the same time.

They are my inspiration,” says Michael V. “…The key is, you don’t have a network contract. The advantage (of it) is (you have) the freedom of doing what you want, doing what pleases you and doing something that will help your career.

Since he will be shuttling from one channel to another, Michael V says, “Our target is to tape as much episodes as we can.” This is true because Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman involves changing of set-ups for the various challenges. Given his TV commitments now, Michael V will make sure that the schedules of his shows will not overlap.

Taking a cue from the US version, Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman is a singing contest which is open “to all. That’s why there’s a screening or audition (which includes checking the blood pressure of contestants). They should be game. It’s katuwaan. This is a singing contest with (a twist) and kalokohan,” shares TV5 Entertainment executive Wilma Galvante. “There’s only one rule: No matter what happens, you don’t stop singing.”

Contestants will have their own song choice to perform, while unexpected challenges are being presented to them. Snakes, frogs and eels may be used to distract them from singing the song and finishing it. The audience has the power to vote which contestant will take home the prize. Getting out of tune is a big no-no on the show.

Winning Killer Karaoke (Pinoy Naman) depends on the performer,” says Michael V. “He has to perform very well, otherwise, the audience will not vote for him.”

To make the show into the zone, so to speak, and close to Pinoy’s entertainment palate, the Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman creative team will come up with new ideas. Other franchisees in the world might adapt them. Michael V will lend a hand in improving the show.

According to the network’s statement, Killer Karaoke has become a hit in such countries as Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Lithuania, Mexico, Poland, Peru, Russia, Thailand, the UK and the US.

For the pilot episode, one can expect a celebrity edition with Ogie Alcasid being first on the list. Ogie is afraid of snakes. It might be hilarious to see him hit the right notes with slimy creatures around him.

"Killer Karaoke Pinoy Naman" is part of the Kapatid Network’s Weekend Do It Better.

Marian Rivera Put Tears on Bacoleños Eyes

Marian Rivera Put Tears on Bacoleños Eyes

Bacolod City-Brimming with her down-to-earth personality, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera greeted thousands of Bacoleños with a warm smile during a Kapuso Fans' Day held on October 18 at the North Transport Hub of SM City Bacolod, as part of the annual celebration of the Masskara Festival.

"Hindi ko alam kung paano ako tatanggapin ng mga tao sa mall show ko," was her sentiment hours before the program. But as she ascended the stage, she was astounded to see the happy faces of her supporters who were screaming and cheering, with some even bursting into tears at the sight of her-signs that she was more than welcome to be there and that her visit has long been waited for by the Bacoleños.

Marian admitted she had second thoughts on whether she would push through with the mall show or not after a massive earthquake hit some parts of Visayas on October 15.

It was Marian's first time to witness and celebrate Masskara. "Masasabi ko na first time ko lahat dito sa Bacolod except I remember nag-radio tour ako before for Marimar pero that was super quick lang. Ito talaga 'yung pinakamatagal na nakilala at nakantahan ko sila on stage," she said.

Deeply overwhelmed, Marian assured her supporters that she'll come back saying, "Nakakatuwa talaga dito sa Bacolod, ang sasaya ng mga tao. Parang ayaw ko na nga umalis, kung pwede dito na lang ako. Promise, babalik ako.

In the said Kapuso Fans' Day, Marian was joined by stand-up comedian Boobay, who amusingly added delight to the audience.

Next event was the Kapuso Electric Dansskara Finals and Charter Day Countdown held at the Bacolod City Government Center at 8pm of the same day featuring Mark Herras, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Andrea Torres as celebrity guests. The following day, October 19, the Bacoleños had the chance to meet more Kapuso stars via the Charter Day Parade and a back-to-back Kapuso Mall Show.

First group who endeared the fans were the cast of Genesis-Rhian Ramos, TJ Trinidad, and Betong Sumaya. At 1pm, they participated in the parade that cruised along the main streets of the city down to the Bacolod Public Plaza, then at 4pm, they performed in a mall show held at the Robinson's Bacolod fountain area together with one of the hottest love teams in show business, Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes.

It was followed by another exciting show held at the mall's City Walk at 7pm that featured the cast of Pyra Babaeng Apoy-Thea Tolentino, Jeric Gonzales, Polo Ravales, and Angelu de Leon-plus the country's Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma.

On October 20, GMA Bacolod's News and Public Affairs offered a special live coverage of the Masskara Street Dancing that took place at the Bacolod Public Plaza. Said live coverage aired via GMA TV Bacolod on the same day.

Highlights of GMA Network's participation in the Masskara Festival can be seen in Let's Fiesta TV Special airing on November 10 in all nine regional stations in Cebu, Davao, CDO, Iloilo, Bacolod, Bicol, Ilocos, Dagupan, and GenSan.

Kris Aquino to Kim Chiu's Fans: "Don't be inggitero!"

Kris Aquino to Kim Chiu's Fans: "Don't be intrigero!"

Kris Aquino appealed to the fans of Kim Chiu to stop sowing intrigues and implying that the "KrisTV" host is playing favorites.

The intrigues started after actress Bea Alonzo appeared on the morning talk show to promote her latest movie, "She's The One."

On Thursday's episode of "KrisTV," Kris admitted that she's hurt that Kim's fans accused her of favoritism.

"Doon sa mga fans na gumagawa ng intriga, don't be intrigero," the outspoken host said, adding "May intriga na hindi ko sinamahan si Kimmy. [But] I did. And we also did a feature on her, not just on KrisTV but also on The Buzz. Sana hindi kayo ganyan kasi I can love everybody."

Kris also said Kim's fans should not put malice into Bea's recent appearances on the morning show because she is promoting her movie.

"It doesn't mean na 'pag puro si Bea lang ang nakikita nyo eh si Bea na ang love. It just so happen na siya lang ang nagbigay ng oras ngayon," Aquino added, noting that Kim is set to appear on the show again soon. "Right after this si Kimmy na ulit ang kasama ko. Parang I mean, halatang halata niyo naman kung sino ang mga favorite ko. Hindi ko naman itinatago yon, it's obvious. So, sana ay walang ganoong intriga."

Kris also said that she told Kim to ask her fans to behave.

"I had to text her that night. Sabi ko, 'Kimmy sabihan mo sila na hurt talaga ako.' Sabi niya, 'Ate, ganoon?' Tapos sinabi niya sa akin, 'Nanood ka with me tapos nandoon sila buong staff,'" Kris recounted.

Kris also appealed to Chiu's fans to stop comparing their idol to Bea.

"Sana they are not like that to make intriga kasi puwede naman talagang to love everybody na huwag i-compare at huwag silang pag-awayin,"she said.

Walt Disney's "Frozen" Based from Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen”

Walt Disney's "Frozen" Based from Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen”

Walt Disney Animation Studios (“Tangled,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy-adventure inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen.”

Fearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey - teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven - to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

“Our film is inspired by Andersen’s classic tale, ‘The Snow Queen,’” says director Chris Buck, “and yet ‘Frozen’ is a story distinctly our own - wonderfully emotional, with plenty of action, adventure, magic and unforgettable characters.

Our story started as a very simple idea about the power of family and has grown into something more grand than we could have ever envisioned,” adds director Jennifer Lee, who wrote the screenplay. “It’s about fear versus love, told through a family’s epic journey - their struggle to overcome fear and find the true meaning of love.

Produced by Peter Del Vecho (“The Princess and the Frog”), “Frozen” is executive produced by John Lasseter. “We’ve always felt that we’re making a really special - almost magical - film,” says Lasseter. “We are incredibly proud of this film. ‘Frozen’ honors our heritage at Walt Disney Animation Studios with its timeless roots, yet its strong characters, incredible storytelling and stunning visuals are totally made for today's audiences.”

Buck (Disney Animation veteran and director of Oscar®-nominated films “Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Lee (screenwriter of the Oscar-nominated “Wreck-It Ralph” and the first female director in Disney Animation feature history) teamed up to direct the film. “When Jennifer first joined the team as writer, it became clear that the individual sensibilities Chris and Jennifer brought to the table were almost magical,” says Del Vecho. “They were so in sync with the needs of the story that they made a very dynamic directing team.”

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have this perfect balance,” adds Kristen Bell, who provides the voice of Anna. “Chris has such a history with Disney - he’s captained so many ships and he brings all of that experience. Jennifer brings wonderfully weird new ideas and champions the film’s core themes, and I love how the two of them dance together, bouncing ideas off of each other that result in these wonderful scenes. It’s really easy as an actor to work alongside that.

In addition to Bell (TV's “Veronica Mars”), “Frozen” features the voices of Idina Menzel (Broadway’s “Wicked”) as Elsa, Jonathan Groff (Fox's “Glee”) as mountain man Kristoff, and Josh Gad (“The Internship”) as the lovable snowman Olaf. The voice cast also includes Santino Fontana (Broadway’s “Cinderella”) as Hans, a handsome royal who catches Anna’s eye, Alan Tudyk (King Candy in “Wreck-It Ralph”) as the Duke of Weselton, Chris Williams (“Bolt”) as Oaken, and Ciarán Hinds (“Game of Thrones”) as Pabbie.

“Frozen” features eight original songs from Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Tony® Award winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”), including the gripping “Let It Go,” Elsa’s self-defining anthem.

Opening across the Philippines in 3D and 2D on November 27, “Frozen” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.

Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo Loveteam Returns via GMA Records Album

Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo Loveteam Returns via GMA Records Album

Leave it to a set of young good-looking men to shake the foundations of primetime television.

When the smash pairing of Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo broke primetime TV convention to steal the hearts of millions of Filipinos, history was rewritten.  Not only did this unlikely twosome made their characters Eric and Vincent one of the most adored couples on national TV, their welcome arrival on the scene comes at a time when the hotly contested issue of gay marriage continues to rage on.  The My Husband’s Lover tandem confronted stereotypes to open up the overlooked idea that love is universal in whatever form it takes.  And it manifests even on their new record, TomDen.

Crafted with the intent to tell Eric and Vincent’s story in a format that is just as authentic on the screen, the duo exhibits a generous helping of romance through tender tunes under the guidance of seasoned producers and songwriters.

Opening track “One More Try” sets the tone throughout the album.  It shows the duo’s resolve underneath the delicate ballad, harmonizing and intertwining their warm vocals to complement the lovely musical arrangement.

More than just a straightforward record, TomDen feels like Eric and Vincent’s storyline, trading love song after emotional love song.  The plot is bright and clear with the musical trimmings taking a backseat to emphasize chapters of a love story taken from the pair’s individual perspectives.

Immediately after the initial duet, Tom and Dennis exchange emotionally honest songs that appear to be meant for each other if taken from the My Husband’s Lover context.  “Ikaw Ang Sagot” finds Tom displaying an underlying ability to be a promising singer.  His distinctive range shows restraint without getting overwhelmed by the striking musical accompaniment.  Dennis, meanwhile, holds his own on the equally romantic “Kailan Man” where he allows himself to be vulnerable without sounding soft: “Kailan man, ikaw ang iibigin ko/kailan man sa ’yo ay di magbabago,” he croons with his cool-as-ice vocals.

Most of the tunes share a classic ballad arrangement, but they are infectious enough and dripping with sugary ode to love to engage even the straightest of men. “Photograph” signals a change in direction of the lyrical themes.  Its sparkling guitar and piano combo belies the ballad’s allusion to a lost love filtered convincingly through Tom’s beautifully restrained vocals.

Following in a similar vein is “It’s Over Now”, one classic effort with a choral background and a plaintive Dennis belting about heartbreak and coming to terms with the reality of a love that has since burned out.  Much like the effective actor he is, Dennis seems to emote more when pushed to his boundaries—evident by the high notes he hits.  One of his best moments on the album.

While the songs’ arrangements throughout the record appear to be cut from the same cloth, they make up for it with emotionally direct and rich themes.  “Hey It’s Me” and “Stay” are both engrossing, merging lyrics about chance encounters and crossing paths with fantastic adlibs and memorable hooks.

Clearly, the finest tracks are the duets but in the closing number “Forever” written by Louie Ocampo and Martin Nievera, Tom and Dennis are at their most ambitious. Delivering a confident performance, the duo play up the bright melodies and enigmatic chorus with spirited voices that sound even better when they feed off each other’s lines.

It’s a satisfying finale to a tale of two men out for a happy ending.  This collection of ballads feels genuine, focusing on matters of the heart to take listeners on Eric and Vincent’s journey.  But at the same time, constructing Tom and Dennis’ identities as promising singers in their own right.

Within three days of being made available on digital format, the album already reached the #1 spot on iTunes PH Top Albums chart!  The album’s carrier single “Forever” is currently enjoying favorable airplay in pop radio stations in Metro Manila and key provincial cities nationwide.  Meanwhile, “Ikaw Ang Sagot” has been chosen to be the theme song of the evening primetime Koreanovela “A 100-Year Legacy” which begins airing on November 4 on GMA.

TomDen, the album, is now available on CDs nationwide thru Astroplus, Astro Vision, Odyssey Music and Video, The Landmark and SM Music and Video outlets.  It is also available on digital format worldwide thru iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and OPM2GO.  Ringback tones will soon be available.  Standby for further announcements through GMA Records’ Facebook account.
