Goodbye "My Husband's Lover" and so with you Dennis Trillo and Carla Abellana! Here comes Pauleen Luna, Rafael Rosell and MHL lead star Tom Rodriguez in "Gaydar".

Alvin Yapan’s ‘Gaydar’ starring Pauleen Luna, Rafael Rosell and Tom Rodriguez is one of the three featured films at this year’s “Q Cinema: The 2013 Quezon City Film Festival” that will run from October 3-5 at Trinoma Cinemas.

There was actually a short comedy film of the same title written and produced by Terry Ray and Larry Lafond in 2002 but it seems totally different from the first film. We are not in the position to comment about the film as of this posting but we would like to believe that the Philippines’ ‘Gaydar’ is different from the foreign version.

Yapan’s ‘Gaydar’ is set to be shown at Trinoma Cinema 3 on October 5 at 9pm.

Tina thinks she’s cursed. She always ends up falling in love with gays. After her latest embarrassment with Ricky, whom she thought would propose to her on their date but ends up introducing to his boyfriend, she vows never to fall in love again with men. Men always end up gay whenever she falls in love with them.

Tina is part of the Makati working class. She lives in Quezon City and rides a regular FX service to Makati. This is where she met Ricky. When everything went sour with them however, she forced to look for another FX service she could use on a regular basis. She calls on her reliable best friend, Nick, to help her find one. Nick is forced to go with Tina and abandon using FX service where they met Ricky. Nick and Tina have been friends since they first met at the cafeteria of the building where they both work. Tina always thought Nick to be gay and they become best friend since then. But secretly, Nick is in love with Tina. He just couldn’t tell her for fear of ruining their friendship. He is so in love with Tina that it is already enough for nick to be with her every day.

While looking for a new service nick, Tina meets Richard, an FX driver, who immediately forces Tina to abandon her new vow never to fall in love again with men. Nick just couldn’t believe Tina. She employs the help of nick to find out whether Richard is gay or not. Both nick and Tina then set up different “traps” for Richard. Can he catch a ball with single hand? How does he pick items from the floor? How does he cut his fingernails? Every manner of gesture and detail they could think of they let Richard go through with it. Tina will never allow herself again to fall in love with a gay guy.

On the other hand, nick is beginning to realize that Tina will never be his. He will always be Tina’s unofficially gay best friend. He will have to let her go. Especially when he finds out that Richard is really straight and is also beginning to fall in love with Tina. More than this. Nick also discovers that Richard is really not just an FX driver which Tina has already come to accept as long as Richard really comes to love her. As it turns out, Richard actually owns the entire FX franchise and sells cars on the side. He masquerades as an FX driver since he is also looking for the right girl who will fall in love with him, and not his flourishing business.

Nick now feels that his love for Tina is finally a lost cause. He begins to distance himself from Tina. When Richard finally reveals his true identity and declare his love for her, Tina fined that nick is no longer around to share her happiness and triumph at love. It was then that she realized that Nick has already become a huge part of her life.

Fortunately, with the help Richard, she encounters Ricky again who tells her of nick’s secret love for her. Ricky knows about this since he courted Nick in their past FX days, and Nick declined his advances by telling him unrequited loves stories about Tina,

Tina just couldn’t believe what she’s hearing. Now she has to choose between two men, between Richard and Nick. In the end however, what wins is the love that has stood the test of time. Tina chooses nick. Nick however now refuses to see her again. Richard, being a gentleman that he is, helps Tina in convincing nick to be with her again, and if need be to start all over again. They set this elaborate trap where they kidnap Nick, bring him to an abandoned house, bind him to a chair and blindfold him. And just when Nick has already given up his life for dead, Tina removes his blindfold and declares her feelings in front of him, saying that Nick already has her heart from the very start. She now wants his heart in ransom for hers since he has stolen her heart, as deftly as a thief, that she never realized it until now.

"Ilo Ilo" is Singapore's Entry to Oscars Award 2013

"Ilo Ilo" is Singapore's Entry to Oscars Award 2013

A movie that centers on an Iloilo-born domestic helper in Singapore is the country's official entry to the 86th Academy Awards, marking the third submission that chronicles stories of Filipinos to the prestigious film industry event.

Directed by filmmaker Anthony Chen, "Ilo Ilo" has been selected by the Singapore Film Commission (SFC) as the country's submission to compete in the 2014 Oscars' Best Foreign Language Film category.
The film, according to Singaporean news outfit The Straits Times, was chosen "for its excellence in execution and performance, accentuated by a thought-provoking storyline," quoting SFC head Yeo Chun Cheng.
"Ilo Ilo," which kicked off its commercial run in Singapore early this month, is inspired by the real-life relationship of Chen and his Filipina nanny, Teresita Sajonia.

Portrayed by Filipina actress Angeli Bayani, "Auntie Terry," as recounted on-screen, served at a time when the Asian financial crisis was in full swing in 1997, providing a backdrop to her forming ties with the boy she tends to.

It also stars Singapore's Yeo Yann Yann, Chen Tianwen, newcomer Koh Jia Ler.

The film debuted to critical acclaim, and even won the Camera d'Or at this year's Cannes Film Festival, marking the first time a Singaporean feature won the award. -

The annual “Barrio Fiesta sa London” in the United Kingdom (UK) continues to hit the mark as the biggest Filipino event outside the homeland as over tens of thousands of Pinoys trooped to the Apps Court Farm near Hampton Court, Walton-on Thames in July for homegrown festivities and entertainment they surely missed.

The overwhelming crowdLR

Tens of thousands of Pinoys in the UK and nearby cities filled the Apps Court Farm, a venue much larger than last year’s Lampton Park, on July 21 and 22. As early as dawn, kababayans started filling the park venue for a chance to see their favorite Kapamilya stars and for a taste of food and fiesta from the country they call home.

Bannering the “29th Barrio Fiesta sa London” on day 1 was one of the Philippines’ biggest love teams , Kim Chiu and Xian Lim who thrilled both the young and young-at-heart with their rendition of breakthrough artist Jireh Lim’s viral hit “Buko.” Joining the love team was another viral hit Blake who sang their biggest covers to date.

Providing entertainment for both dates were “Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs” Angeline Quinto and “Be Careful With My Heart” beloved yaya, Doris “Tart” Carlos. Carlos who was feverish then, performed to the hilt, not showing the slightest hint of feeling a bit under the weather.

Highlighting the second, equally successful day 2 was the presence of much-talked about stars Vice Ganda, Maja Salvador and Richard Gomez. Box office phenomenon and multi-talented artist Vice Ganda left the crowd in stitches with his comic flair. Gomez from the equally phenomenal “Walang Hanggan” thrilled the female crowd as he sung the teleserye’s theme song with the same title. Meantime, Salvador shared a peek of her 10th anniversary concert which she first performed back in Manila, much to the delight of fans.

The crowd went wild as Lim, Quinto, Salvador, and Gomez came down from the high stage to get closer to the crowd.

While this raises the bar for future ‘barrio fiestas,’ this challenge provides us the opportunity to explore more ways to give the annual tradition a whole new twist to excite our Filipino audience.”

Restored, Re-mastered, Re-engineered “Oro Plata Mata” DVD Format Now Available in Video Stores Nationwide

Restored, Re-mastered, Re-engineered “Oro Plata Mata” DVD Format Now Available in Video Stores Nationwide

Filipino viewers of all generations can now enjoy and relive the cinematic experience of the classic Peque Gallaga masterpiece, “Oro Plata Mata,” as Star Home Videos finally releases its digitally restored and re-mastered full HD version on DVD in all major video outlets nationwide.

“Oro Plata Mata” is the second film restored by ABS-CBN’s Film Archives in partnership with the Central Digital Laboratory (CDL) following the successful restoration of the Ishmael Bernal classic film “Himala,” topbilled by veteran actress Nora Aunor and written by multi-awarded screenwriter Ricky Lee.

The special DVD offers a digitally remastered copy of “Oro Plata Mata” from the full HD restored version with English and Tagalog subtitles alongside other exclusive features such as director’s commentary by director Peque Gallaga, actor’s commentary from several of the movie’s original cast, the original sequence treatment submitted to the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines made by Gallaga, the 1982 original trailer with remastered footage, restoration vignettes, and the original story boards used for the movie’s climactic fight scenes.

Set in the province of Negros during World War II, “Oro Plata Mata” tells the story of how two haciendero families cope with the changes brought about by the war. The title refers to the old superstition that staircases in a house should not end in a multiple of three, in keeping with a pattern of oro (gold), plata (silver) and mata (bad luck).

The movie starred Cherie Gil, Sandy Andolong, Ronnie Lazaro, Joel Torre, Liza Lorena, Manny Ojeda, Mitch Valdes, Lorli Villanueva, Abbo dela Cruz and Mary Walter.  The movie was also fondly remembered for numerous cameos which included Manny Castaneda, Gigi Duenas, Fe de los Reyes and Kuh Ledesma.

ABS-CBN pioneered the restoration of classic Filipino films and it is the first in Asia to do a multiplatform campaign to promote and reintroduce a digitally re-mastered film to the current generation of audiences. For instance, the digitially-restored film “Himala” was aired on Philippine television via free-to-air channel ABS-CBN and cable channel Cinema One, released on the big screen with a red carpet cinema premiere, released internationally on pay-per-view via Global TV, and distributed commercially on DVD.

This 360° restoration campaign was such a breakthrough that ABS-CBN Film Archives head Leo Katigbak was invited recently to Thailand to present it before members of the Southeast Asia-Pacific Audio Visual Archives Association (SEAPAVAA), an association of organizations and individuals involved in or interested in the development of audiovisual archiving, and served as a model for member archivists to replicate.

Many restoration efforts stop once the work on the film is completed but that is really only half the process.  The more important part is how do you get that new version of the film exposed to a brand new audience that may be experiencing what we did all those many years ago for the very first time,” explained Katigbak.

The restoration campaign of ABS-CBN reflected this, hopefully ensuring that a new generation will appreciate the movies again, and repeatedly for generations to come. Even celebrities like Piolo Pascual, Boy Abunda, Angel Aquino and Maja Salvador believed in the project and gave their full support in bringing our campaign to a mainstream audience,” he added.

In celebration of the 60th year of Philippine television, ABS-CBN Film Archives continues its commitment to collect, preserve, store, and provide access to titles that defined the Philippines’ cinematic legacy.

We want the audience to experience important titles in Philippine cinema history as if they were brand new and as if they were shot today,” said Katigbak.

One of these titles is the classic romantic musical drama “Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon” topbilled by the late national artist Eddie Romero. Katigbak recently bagged the rights from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to restore the FAMAS and Gawad Urian award-winning film.

The plan is to get to the classics before they are too badly damaged to be saved and restored. ‘Ganito Kami Noon’ was always on our short list and fortunately, the film elements we needed to do the restoration were still intact and available and the negotiations worked out for us to secure all the needed rights to do the kind of multi-media, multi-platform campaign that we employed for ‘Himala’ and ‘Oro’,” shared Katigbak.

ABS-CBN Film Archives have a lineup of titles to be restored in the coming months and will make individual announcement once the restoration process begins.

Nung gabi pa lang, nagbabantay na ko ng Twitter,” said John Paulo Baticulon, winner of the first leg of Twitter Zoom at SM Fairview. “So yung ate ko yung naiwan sa bahay para magbantay ng tweets tapos ako yung tumakbo all the way here. Gusto ko talagang mapanood si Rihanna up close. Parang soundtrack na kasi ng buhay ko yung mga songs niya. So thank you, Smart, for giving this gift to me.”

Along with Baticulon, the other two lucky winners of premium Rihanna concert tickets were Jay Mark Isais who went all the way from a class in the University of Santo Tomas to SM Megamall; and Julius Provido, who braved the night’s rain to finish the last leg at the SM Mall of Asia, coming all the way from his work at Quezon City.

Nung sinabi na clue ay ‘heart of Manila,’ kumuha na agad ako ng taxi papuntang Megamall, kahit traffic. Then I was using my Smart LTE for monitoring the tweets” Isais said. “Nung nalaman kong may ganitong Twitter Zoom, hindi ko na siya pinalampas. Sobrang idol ko kasi talaga si Rihanna. Her songs really inspire me more.”
Rihanna fans can also download her music for as low as P10 using their prepaid load or charged to their postpaid bill at, along with over three million other songs from the Smart Music catalog.

Distance was not an issue for John Paulo Baticulon, the winner of the first leg of the Smart Twitter Zoom. At 6 a.m., he already left Las Piñas and went all the way to SM Fairview. His sister was the one monitoring the tweets while he was going to the location.

Jay Mark Isais was in a class in his class in the University of Sto. Tomas when the clue was given that second location will be at the “heart” of Manila. With only his determination and a tablet powered by Smart LTE, he maneuvered his way to SM Megamall amidst the heavy traffic and won the second pair of Rihanna premium concert tickets.

As much as Julius Provido wanted to join the first two legs, his work schedule won’t allow him to do so. But when hope came and he found out that the last location of the Smart Twitter Zoom is in the SM Mall of Asia, immediately after his work, he rode the train and braved the rains from North to South, earning him a pair Rihanna tickets.

“We're The Millers” Drives Past $200-M at the Worldwide Box Office

“We're The Millers” Drives Past $200-M at the Worldwide Box Office

Continuing its successful run at the box office, New Line Cinema’s smash hit comedy “We’re the Millers” has surpassed $200 million at the worldwide box office. The announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. The film has grossed an estimated $206 million globally, and still climbing.

“We’re the Millers” has taken in an estimated $132.6 million domestically and is still going strong. Internationally, the film has grossed $73.4 million, opening at #1 in key European markets such as Germany and breaking records in Russia, where it has become the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time. Major markets set to release in the coming weeks include Spain, France and Brazil.

Fellman stated, “‘We’re the Millers’ has demonstrated terrific playability from coast to coast, and the phenomenal word of mouth has kept the weekly drops notably low and the attendance consistently high. We congratulate our partners at New Line, as well as director Rawson Marshall Thurber and the terrific cast, led by the tremendously talented Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston.”

Kwan Vandenberg noted, “The international rollout has been fantastic, with number one openings and powerful holds.  International audiences have responded in a big way to the film’s outrageous humor, and the chemistry of Jennifer and Jason and the entire cast. We join New Line in congratulating Rawson and his cast and crew on crossing this exciting benchmark.”

From New Line Cinema comes the action comedy “We’re the Millers,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis under the direction of Rawson Marshall Thurber.

David Clark (Sudeikis) is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids - after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks. Stealing his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to his supplier, Brad (Ed Helms).

In order to wipe the slate clean - and maintain a clean bill of health - David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad’s latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbors, cynical stripper Rose (Aniston) and wannabe customer Kenny (Will Poulter), as well as streetwise teen Casey (Emma Roberts), he devises a foolproof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny RV later, the “Millers” are headed south of the border for a Fourth of July weekend that is sure to end with a bang.

The film also stars Emma Roberts, Nick Offerman, Kathryn Hahn, Will Poulter and Ed Helms.

Now playing across the Philippines, “We’re the Millers” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Mark Wahlberg Goes Undercover in “2 Guns”

Mark Wahlberg Goes Undercover in “2 Guns”

Mark Wahlberg outguns his rivals in TriStar Pictures’ “2 Guns,” in which he stars as Navy Petty Officer Michael “Stig” Stigman, a fast-talking sharpshooter who is as awkwardly charming as he is cunning.

In the film, Stig has served the Navy honourably for more than a decade. But when he does six months in the brig after attacking a military police officer, Stig is drafted into one of the Navy’s shadier ops and officially considered AWOL. He can maneuver in the dark, and he’s now dispensable if he decides to go off the Navy’s playbook.

The actor describes what drew him to the role: “The story goes back to those great buddy action comedies that I’ve always been a huge fan of. Stig’s that guy who just goes on impulse. Going into the bank heist, he and fellow undercover agent, Bobby (Denzel Washington), both been playing each other; neither has been completely honest about who they are or their motivations. Even though he’s playing Bobby, and Bobby’s playing him, Stig’s still honest about how he feels. He’s up for a good time, but if he gets rubbed the wrong way, he can go dark pretty quick.”

Although their mission has them planning to steal approximately $3 million of drug kingpin Papi Greco’s cash when we are introduced to the reluctant partners, Stig and Bobby get much more than they bargained for. When they open (read: blow up) the safety deposit boxes at Tres Cruces Savings & Loan, they discover more than $43 million - money that will most definitely be missed when they go on the run.

Wahlberg brings us up to speed with the moment when it all goes to hell with the agent and the operative: “After the heist is over, unfortunately it’s either Bobby or Stig, and Stig gets the upper hand. Stig doesn’t want to kill Bobby because he’s very fond of him, but he has a job to do. In the scuffle, Bobby’s DEA badge drops and Stig is upset - even though he’s been double-crossing Bobby - that Bobby had the nerve to double-cross him.”

Wahlberg was glad that the stars finally aligned for him and Denzel Washington to work together. Discussing Washington, he states: “We have great chemistry. We’ve known each other for a while, and this was the perfect piece of material for both of us to show a different side of ourselves. People would be very surprised to see how playful Denzel can be. I remember shooting our first scene, and every take I would do something completely different. He said, ‘Oh, I see what’s happening here,’ and he jumped right on board.” Wahlberg admits that he had a bit of an ulterior motive, and that was to get Washington to laugh. “There’s nothing better than seeing Denzel smile. Usually you get to see that once or twice in a movie; in this film, we see it a lot.

From “Three Kings” to “Shooter,” Wahlberg has spent a good deal of time undergoing military-style training for his film career. “2 Guns” represents his latest effort, and he was up for the challenge. Wahlberg states that it was Stig’s commitment to his code that was most reflective of the military the performer has grown to know: “I had this mantra throughout the movie that I wrote on the front of my script, which was ‘duty, honor, loyalty and trust.’ Those things are very important to Stig; there isn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for his brothers, for his people.”

With this project and the upcoming epic “Lone Survivor,” Wahlberg shot two military-inspired films back to back. About his experience, he offers: “I went into Navy SEAL training immediately after shooting `2 Guns,’ and I’d been doing a lot of research into and reading about that world before this film. I’ve been lucky enough to have played military guys before, and I’ve had quite a bit of military training for other roles.”

Opening across the Philippines on September 25, “2 Guns” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.

Chris Hemsworth Reprises Iconic Character in “Thor: The Dark World”

Chris Hemsworth Reprises Iconic Character in “Thor: The Dark World”

From Marvel Studios comes the highly anticipated “Thor: The Dark World,” continuing the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that pre-dates the universe itself.

In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Based on the ever-popular comic book series, Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor with Academy Award® winner Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, award-winning Stellan Skarsgård as Selvig, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Christopher Eccleston as Malekith, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Algrim, Kat Dennings as Darcy, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, Zachary Levi as Fandral, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, Jaimie Alexander as Sif with Rene Russo as Frigga and Academy Award® winner Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor from a story by Don Payne and Robert Rodat and a screenplay by Christopher L. Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a.

In 1962, the now-legendary duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby introduced “The Mighty Thor” to readers of Marvel Comics, unleashing a new era of action-adventure with their take on the hammer-wielding Norse god. Despite the Nordic-sounding names, the story was rooted in familiar, universal conflicts that have driven human drama since the beginning of time: a son impatient to prove his worth to his father; a lethally resentful brother; and a woman who helps a man see the world anew.

After the global cinematic success of Marvel’s “Thor,” the filmmakers reached once more into a rich archive of Norse mythology and comic book history for Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World.” The movie paints an adventure of the most epic and spectacular proportions. Again drawing on universal and familiar themes, the film pits duty and family allegiance against personal aspiration and love. It sees a nation in conflict with an enemy long thought to be dead, but who now threatens the very existence of the universe.

At the end of “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor’s adopted brother Loki is taken back to Asgard by Thor as a prisoner, after trying to take over the world. From this starting point, producer Kevin Feige, executive producer Craig Kyle, the screenwriters and a large team at Marvel sat down to look at where Thor’s story should go next. Screenwriter Christopher L. Yost explains, “We really wanted to look at how you could escalate the story personally for him and push things to the next level in terms of conflict.”

Director Alan Taylor, describing Thor’s journey, says, “In the first film, we saw Thor go from being an impetuous prince to taking his first steps towards maturing and growing up, and in our film that life story continues. He’s moving closer to actually claiming the kind of power that comes with Odin. He’s becoming not just a man, but potentially a king as well. In this story, as Thor matures and deepens, he has to give some things up and suffer.”

To create the conflict, the filmmakers give Thor a worthy adversary—the villainous Malekith. Introduced in June 1984 in issue #344 of Thor, Malekith is leader of the dark elves, who inhabit Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Realms. After waging war with the Nine Realms, and being defeated by Asgard, the dark elves were considered to be extinct. But Malekith put his planet and the surviving dark elves into hibernation for many thousands of years, until a calculated time when he was ready to avenge the universe and turn light once more into darkness. Malekith and the dark elves will prove to be formidable enemies with a violent and personal history with Asgard.

In creating “Thor: The Dark World,” Marvel filmmakers worked diligently to respect the film’s origins and the legions of comic book fans it spawned and worked carefully to endear and excite not only those fans but fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well.

Opening across the Philippines on Oct. 30 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D, 2D and regular theaters, “Thor: The Dark World” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

Richard Yap Album "Easy Listening" Released

“Be Careful With My Heart” lead actor Richard Yap, who is well known by TV viewers as ‘Ser Chief,’ is thrilled over the launch of his first-ever recording album under Star Records.

It is a dream-come-true because I’ve always wanted to sing since I was a kid,” said the other half of the ‘Ser Chief-Maya’ (Jodi Sta. Maria) love team. “I am thankful to our teleserye because through our official soundtrack, people discovered that I can sing.

The actor shared that his self-titled debut album is just like their TV series–a feel-good, easy listening collection of tracks composed of nine revivals that were all chosen by ‘Ser Chief’ himself. The carrier single of the album is “Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say.”

It covers all genres, from pop to ballad to alternative, appealing not only to music fans in my age group but also to the teens and in-betweens,” said Richard, who stressed that his album is entirely different from “Be Careful With My Heart” album. “This is very special for me because I put a lot of hard work in it so that we could come up with something that’s really worth paying for. Richard, who grew up listening to the music of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates, Phil Collins, and Mike Francis, feels no pressure getting compared with other talented singers in the country.

Roi Vinzon, from Retired Army to Priest in a New Kapuso Series

Actor Roi Vinzon, who plays as the homophobic retired army general Armando Soriano in the GMA primetime series “My Husband’s Lover,” was spotted this morning inside a studio at the GMA Network Center donning a habit (religious vestment) similar to the vestment worn by Dominican priests during the Spanish colonial era of this country’s history.

The action star has always been negatively typecast because of his past roles as drug lord, rapist, corrupt public official, criminal with a calloused conscience, among others.

Roi will be part of a yet confidential TV program, which will air this October.

Details of the said project will yet be revealed but from what we know so far, the cast will include a relatively new kapuso actor who is a relative of another popular actor from a different network and an established young actor who has been creating buzz lately in the independent film arena. The said actor is a member of a clan of revered actors although he uses a different family name.
