Alden Richards on Kissing Scene with John Lloyd Cruz: "Okay lang po."

Alden Richard welcomes the idea of working with his idol John Lloyd Cruz in a movie project even if it requires him to play the latter's gay lover.

Okay lang po basta maganda yung story and hindi naman po kababoy-baboy.” Alden said during the presscon for his upcoming Kapuso primetime teleserye "Mundo Mo’y Akin" on March 12.

Alden also said "yes" without even thinking twice when he asked if he's willing to do a kissing scene with the Kapamilya actor.

Okay lang din po. Acting lang naman po , trabaho lang naman. Basta maganda yung script and challenging [yung role] at talagang for the sake of the story.” Alden stressed.

Alden also thought of putting extra effort and preparation once this dream project happens.

Itotodo ko po. Mag-aaral po talaga akong mabuti sa acting pag si Bossing [John Lloyd] na ang makakatrabaho ko.” the Kapuso actor said.

Enrique Gil and Jewel Mische Spotted in a Road and Boat Trips

Kuya Kim Atienza and guest hosts Enrique Gil and Jewel Mische trade their comfortable celebrity lives to become a jeepney driver, a duck raiser, and an oyster farmer for a day Sunday (March 17) in another exciting adventure on “Matanglawin.”

The country’s Trivia King turns into the king of the road as he roams around the busy streets of Manila driving a passenger jeepney. Driving may look easy but can he multitask like what jeepney drivers-barkers do?

Jewel goes to the sea on a small boat to try the life of a “bosero” or an oyster-farmer. She must harvest the oysters and sell them later in the market.

‘Dougie’ Prince Enrique Gil, on the other hand, turns into an ‘Itik’ prince and sinks his feet in the mud while chasing ducks all around. After harvesting the duck’s eggs, he must now walk around Bulacan shouting ‘balut’ and make sure he sells all of it.

Can Enrique and Jewel survive the challenge? Can their charm the crowd into buying their oysters and balut?

Don’t miss “Matanglawin this Sunday (March 17), 9:30 AM, only on ABS-CBN.

Supreme Court Dismisses Contempt Charges Filed by Ampatuans Against GMA Network, ABS-CBN, PDI and PhilStar

Supreme Court Dismisses Contempt Charges Filed by Ampatuans Against GMA Network, ABS-CBN, PDI and PhilStar

The Supreme Court (SC) absolved broadcast giant GMA Network, its news editors Raffy Jimenez and Victor Sollorano and field reporter for the Judiciary Sophia Dedace from the contempt petition filed by Atty. Sigfrid Fortun, counsel for the Ampatuans in the “Mindanao Massacre” case.

Fortun filed a case against GMA Network and other media entities namely ABS-CBN, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Philippine Star, several medium groups and personalities, and Mangudadatu lawyer Atty. Jesusa Quinsayas, et al. after the said media outfits published the disbarment complaint of Quinsayas against Fortun in November 2010. The disbarment case against Fortun is still pending before the SC.

It was claimed by Fortun that Quinsayas, et al. violated the confidential nature of disbarment proceedings by actively disseminating the disbarment complaint, and that the media groups and personalities acted in conspiracy with her through the publication of the confidential materials on their respective media platforms.

In its Decision dated February 13, 2013, the SC, through Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, held that Fortun failed to prove that the respondents, with the exception of Quinsayas, participated in the dissemination and publication of the disbarment complaint against him.

Further, considering that the publication of the stories were completed after Quinsayas distributed copies of the complaint, it was concluded that members of the media who reported the news item and the media groups that published it on their website, including GMA Network, did not violate the confidentiality rule on disbarment proceedings.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court found Quinsayas liable for indirect contempt and was fined P20,000.

GMA News Videos Accessible on iPhones for Free!

Mobile news consumers who missed GMA news on TV can now see it on the go.

An updated version of the GMA News mobile application for iOS now offers video clips from GMA News programs. The app is available for free download on the Apple App Store.

GMA News Online v 2.0 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod enables users to customize its content by choosing which sections of the website will appear on the app. It also features an option to display 10 or 15 articles from each section.

We just want to be where news consumers are going. Our improved app combines two exploding trends – mobile and online video,” GMA News Online editor-in-chief and GMA Network VP for Multimedia Journalism Howie Severino said.

He explained that only selected GMA news videos will be viewable on mobile initially, but the volume of video content will eventually increase.

Developed by New Media Inc., the updated app has a new action bar that lets users go directly to his or her favorite section and manage customization settings. It also includes links to the YouScoop app on iTunes, as well as to the GMA News mobile site, Twitter profile, and Facebook page.

In an effort to make GMA News content available in more social media platforms, articles on the new app may now be shared not just on Facebook, but also through email and on Twitter.

The app lets users experience smooth, paper-like scrolling within the articles. A single swipe enables readers to move from one section to another or from one article to the next story on the same section.

Each story on the app also includes a link on that gives users the option to read the story on the GMA News Online mobile site.

Steve Carell Dazzles as “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”

Steve Carell Dazzles as “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”

Burt Wonderstone…world-class entertainer, magician extraordinaire, idol to millions, and a real sharp dresser. Even if he does say so himself. Steve Carell plays the fictional mega-magician in New Line Cinema's outrageous comedy “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.”

Burt Wonderstone can be a real jerk,” declares Steve Carell, who stars as half of the longstanding Vegas power duo known as The Incredible Burt and Anton, and was one of the film’s producers. “Burt and Anton met at an early age and bonded over magic. Since they’ve been performing together for years on the long rise to stardom, their act has always been billed as a magical friendship - which is a lovely idea, except that they can’t stand each other anymore.”

Somewhere along the line,” Carell continues, “Burt forgot about the things that really mattered and let success and all its trappings go to his head. He took it all for granted and turned into a self-centered blowhard, and now he and his inflated ego are due for a comeuppance.”

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” is the story of that comeuppance.

For all that Burt represents and all that he has achieved in a decade of exhibition, both on and off the stage, director Don Scardino sees him primarily as “a peacock. He’s kind of foolish and full of himself, in love with his own reflection. If someone said to him, ‘I can’t tell you how great you are,’ he’d say, ‘Oh, please try.’ But Steve plays the part so endearingly and is so likeable that, despite this guy’s massive ego, you could still fall for Burt Wonderstone. You still like him and find yourself rooting for him to get back in touch with the decent person you know he used to be.”

Producer Chris Bender acknowledges it’s a fine line to tread, but, “When Steve came aboard it was a real ‘ah-hah’ moment for us and a turning point for the project, because we knew we’d found the right actor to embrace those contradictions and strike that balance beautifully.”

Beneath the veneer and the superstar lifestyle Burt flaunts, not to mention the women recruited nightly from his audiences and dismissed in the morning with an autographed photo as a parting gift, Carell points out, “His life is empty. In some ways he’s still that awkward nerd he was at 12, who had no friends until Anton came along, but he’s conveniently forgotten that. He thinks he doesn’t need Anton anymore, that he’s way past that.”

“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” re-teams “Bruce Almighty” antagonists Steve Carell and Jim Carrey as rival magicians fighting for the spotlight, and marks Carell’s third screen collaboration with Alan Arkin - cast as Rance Holloway, once a famous magician whose act inspired the young Burt, and now an irascible retiree who wants nothing to do with the business. It also showcases comic turns from Steve Buscemi and James Gandolfini, and taps Olivia Wilde’s talent for physical comedy in a way that audiences have never seen her before.

Opening across the Philippines on March 20, “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” is a New Line Cinema presentation and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Pope Francis - Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina is the New Pope

Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina was elected as the new Pope of the Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, taking the name Francis and becoming the first non-European pontiff in nearly 1,300 years.

Pope Francis, 76, appeared on the central balcony of St. Peter's Basilica just over an hour after white smoke poured from a chimney on the roof of the Sistine Chapel to signal 115 cardinal electors had chosen him to lead the world's 1.2 billion Roman Catholics.

"Pray for me," the new pontiff, dressed in the white robes of a pope for the first time, urged the crowd, smiling warmly.

The choice of Bergoglio, who is the first Latin American and first Jesuit pope, was announced by French cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran with the Latin words "Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum. Habemus Papam" ("I announce to you a great joy. We have a pope.")

Lino Cayetano on Relationship with Kris Aquino: "I'm attracted to strong and smart women. I'm thankful for her..."

Lino Cayetano has spoken up about rumors romantically linking him to Kris Aquino.

"We're good friends ni Kris. I'm very thankful for her friendship. I'm getting to know her. She's a very good person," Cayetano said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday.

Rumors of a romantic relationship between the two started to surface in January, following Cayetano's guest appearance on Aquino's morning talk show "Kris TV." But the well-known TV and film director denied that he and the 42-year-old actress-host are romantically involved.

Asked how his friendship with Aquino developed, Cayetano said, "I met her before through Liz Uy (fashion stylist and Cayetano's former girlfriend), tapos sa ABS nagkikita kami, then more and more nag-uusap kami. Ako, I'm attracted to strong and smart women. My ate (Senator Pia Cayetano) is like that, so wala naman problema sa akin 'yun."

He clarified, however, that they have not been "going out."

"Sa akin, it's simple lang - we're friends. If there's anything more to it, siguro people will know naman, if that ever happens," he said.

Joseph 'Erap' Estrada and Mayor Alfredo Lim Heated Debate in ‘Umagang Kay Ganda’ Video

The heated debate between incumbent Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and former President Joseph Estrada in the “Umagang Harapan” segment of ABS-CBN’s morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda” became a hot topic and went viral online as netizens watched the intense word war that transpired between the two Manila mayoral candidates.

Erap and Lim traded barbs on national TV regarding their qualifications, capacity to maintain peace and order in the city, Estrada’s plunder conviction, and many more issues that drew cheers and jeers from the live audience at the studio. Erap was first to fire at Lim when he talked about the debt of the City of Manila to Meralco allegedly amounting to P872 million. Lim hit Estrada by highlighting the plunder charges against Estrada that removed him from presidency. Tension further built up when Estrada recounted how Lim visited him while he was on house arrest in Tanay, Rizal in 2004 and even “cried” while asking forgiveness from him. Lim belied Estrada’s claims and said he would never shed a tear for a criminal. “Umagang Harapan,” moderated by anchor Anthony Taberna, is regularly seen in “Umagang Kay Ganda” as part of ABS-CBN’s News and Current Affairs comprehensive, reliable, and engaging “Halalan 2013” coverage.

Deion Sanders Wins Custody of Kids

Former football and baseball player and now NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders wins custody battle of his 3 kids against estranged wife Pilar.

TMZ Reports:

Deion Sanders was just awarded primary custody of his three kids with his estranged wife.

We're told 11 of 12 jurors ruled in the NFL Hall of Famer's favor ... giving him full physical and legal custody of his 13 and 11-year-old sons with Pilar Sanders.

However, the Collins Co., TX jury gave the ex-couple shared physical and legal custody of their 9-year-old daughter.

Both sides were arguing for sole custody of all 3 children.

This settles the custody issues, but Deion and Pilar are still battling over finances in their divorce.

Nicolas Cage Heads Action-Comedy Family 3D Adventure “The Croods”

Nicolas Cage Heads Action-Comedy Family 3D Adventure “The Croods”

Widely renowned for his action films such as “Con Air,” “The Rock,” “National Treasure,” “Faceoff” and “Gone in 60 Seconds,”  Nicolas Cage is back in the thick of non-stop action in DreamWorks Animation’s  3D action family adventure “The Croods.”

In “The Croods,” Cage plays Grug whom he lends his voice to – an overprotective caveman patriarch to his family in the midst of an ever-changing environ where predators lurk behind every rock.  Earth’s movements force them to leave their cave and move towards the light and unchartered territories.  In the thick of adventure, Grug is ever mindful of his family including his wife Ugga (Catherine Keener), Eep (Emma Stone), Thunk (Clark Duke), Gran (Cloris Leachman) and baby.

Along the way, the Croods meet Guy (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) whose dazzling new discoveries – like fire...and shoes – shake up the Croods in unexpected ways. Most of the family (especially Eep) is open to Guy’s vision of a new place called “tomorrow,” but Grug sees the biggest calamity yet: a charming teenage boy from which he must “protect” Eep.

Change, like everything else, doesn’t come easily to Grug, whose stubbornness is matched only by his love for his clan and by his heroic work ethic. For Grug, there are no weekends, holidays or sick days; he’s on watch, 24/7, 365 days a year.  He lives by many credos, including the aforementioned “fear is good; change is bad,” as well as other Grug-isms, such as: “Anything fun is bad” and “Never not be afraid.”

Grug’s ethos is ‘fear is good; change is bad’ and he tries to shield his loved ones from the threat posed by a uncertain world by keeping them hidden in a cave, venturing out only when they need to hunt for food. For Eep, sheltering inside a mountain is just boring and she yearns for something more.

Grug and Eep’s relationship is one that many families can relate to – the over protective father and the teenage daughter who wants to have some adventure and explore. And the transformation and the growth they go through together makes for a very funny and a very heart-warming experience,” says Cage.

Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage says he empathizes with his on-screen alter ego, because “it’s impossible to be a father and avoid thinking about your child’s first crush, or about keeping up with your kids’ new ways of thinking.   I’m a father myself and I think if you care it’s impossible not to be a protective father because you want your loved ones to be safe. The problem is with Grug, even though there is a lot of humour in his attitude, he has stopped living and he’s just surviving. And that’s the great lesson that he gets from Eep, which is that you have to follow the light.

We, as parents, go too far sometimes, but that’s where Grug is at,” Cage continues. “He does experience a transformation, which we all must do at some point in our lives.”

Upon seeing the film in its final cut, Cage admitted he was overwhelmed, “Look, I’m a pretty emotional guy and I’m in touch with my feelings. I wouldn’t be able to do the work that I’ve selected for myself if I wasn’t,” he says.  “I had to look at the ceiling to stop from welling up. I really had to pull my stuff together. And that’s all down to the power of the story telling. These guys, (directors) Kirk and Chris, are very creative and very talented storytellers.

“I saw it with the most people I’ll ever see it with, it was a huge audience, and I was blown away. I was lost in the visual spectacle of the movie because it’s so beautiful. “I was very taken with the imagination and the talent that went into this film. There are some extraordinarily creative people designing the animals in the movie and the landscapes in the movie. I think I could see The Croods ten times in a row and always find something new in it,” continues Cage.

Cage concludes, “And I think that the relationships in the movie are so real. It’s about a family and the relationships within a family and that, I think, will resonate with people everywhere

“The Croods”(3D) opens March 22 in cinemas nationwide from DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Kourtney Kardashian Cries Over Fat Claim

Kourtney Kardashian Cries Over Fat Claim

In this week's Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, Scott Disick made her girl Kourtney Kardashian cried. Why? He calls her FAT!

When the 5-foot mother of two weighed herself and found that she was at 115 pounds, Disick asked, "Do you know what you're supposed to weigh for your average weight for your height?"

Kardashian, who gave birth to their second child, Penelope, in July, estimated that it was probably around 105 pounds, but that she had been approximately 95 pounds when the couple first met. "I feel like 93 is the dream," Disick sighed. "Your body was bangin' when I first saw you on the beach with that little a--."

Disick continued to complain about Kardashian's weight, telling the cameras, "Right now seems to be probably the heaviest she's ever been not pregnant. When we had Mason, I remember her trying to whip herself back into shape pretty quick. This time around, it seems like it's the least of her concerns, and the only thing she thinks about are the kids. ... I just think that she would feel better if she got back into the shape that she feels the most comfortable in."

When Kardashian asked why he cared so much about her weight, Disick told her, "Why wouldn't I care? You're my piece of machinery!"

Eventually, Kardashian couldn't brush off Disick's harsh criticism and broke down in tears. "You are so crazy. I'm trying to do this the healthy way," she said. To which Disick replied: "Do it the healthy way — just do it faster."

"It's frustrating," she told him. "I wish I had people around me who were supportive. At least you know now it hurts me. I don't want to hear any more weight comments."

In classic Lord Disick style, he issued a lackluster apology. "I'm sorry, doll. You're a good-looking lady. You're proportioned properly, you've got a beautiful kneecap and a gorgeous little face."

Later, he admitted to the cameras, not Kardashian, "I love her, not her weight."
