"Mga Alaala ng Tag-Ulan" Movie Trailer - CineFilipino Film Festival 2013 Movie Entry

CineFilipino, an independent film festival spearheaded by PLDT-Smart Foundation, MediaQuest, Studio 5 and Unitel Entertainment, will have its gala week on September 18-24, 2013. It will showcase 8 feature-length films and 10 short films.

The public may be able to watch the CineFilipino feature presentations during its week-long run at the Newport Cinemas of Resorts World Manila, Lucky Chinatown Mall and Gateway Cineplex. Festival entries will also be shown at the cinemas of Shangri-la Plaza on September 21-22 weekend.

One of the featured film competing for awards including Audience Choice and Best Acting Ensemble is the Akihiro Blanco and Mocha Uson coming of age movie entitled "Ang Kwento Ni Mabuti".

Synopsis: Santi (Akihiro Blanco) is a college freshman, living in a suburban town where his family just transferred after a financial crisis. As Santi deals with his new environment in school and his parents’ marital conflicts at home, he encounters Claire (Mocha Uson), the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. To protect herself from that rainy afternoon, she takes cover from Santi’s big red umbrella.

Claire is more than ten years older than Santi. She works as an assistant in a bookshop. Coming in from a tragic break-up she is still lost, in the process of picking up the pieces of herself and finding her place in this world when she meets the young Santi.

Infatuation, admiration, love at first sight or whatever one labels it, Santi’s got it for Marie Claire. In his pursuit of her, Santi goes through a journey of finding the meaning of love, understanding its complexities, fighting for it, facing its challenges and accepting the pains and sufferings that it entails. In this process, Santi transforms from a boy to an adult, earning his passage to manhood.

A coming of age story of a young man's first love, kiss, sex and murder.

A poignant, coming-of-age story about a young’s man first encounter with love, romance and heartbreak told in bits and pieces of poetic and melancholic memories of one man pouring under one rainy night.

Written and Directed by Ato Bautista, the movie also stars Mon Confiado, Issa Litton, Lance Raymundo, Ria Garcia and Pio Balbuena.
