Andi Eigenmann Replaces KC Concepcion in Anne Curtis - Derek Ramsay Movie "Nothing Compares to You"

Andi Eigenmann Replaces KC Concepcion in Anne Curtis - Derek Ramsay Movie "Nothing Compares to You"

It was reported here in Showbiznest that KC Concepcion revealed that she is no longer part of upcoming Anne Curtis and Derek Ramsay movie "Nothing Compares to You" - a follow-up to the blockbuster film "No Other Woman" (read related article HERE).

But early this week, Viva's Supervising Producer June Rufino announces that Concepcion will be replaced by an equally talented actress and another Viva Artist Center's talent Andi Eigenmann.

Viva regrets that KC is no longer in the cast of the studio’s follow-up to the blockbuster ‘No Other Woman’. As such it is also the follow-up to the Anne Curtis-Derek Ramsay tandem which was successfully launched in that film,” Rufino said in a statement.

“Nothing Compares” is another love-triangle story. Anne and Derek play an engaged couple and Andi the other woman who rocks their romance. The script is being tweaked to factor in the age difference between KC and Andi.

The movie is set in the world of high society, with Anne and Andi playing young women who belong to one big group of friends from the upper class. It also presents an entertaining and insightful look at how romances – and scandals – play out in the contemporary world dominated by social media.

The screenplay by award-winning veteran Mel del Rosario is said to be peppered with memorable confrontation scenes and spicy quotable quotes that made the earlier film a word-of-mouth blockbuster and a hot conversation piece among viewers. Under the direction of TV veteran Nuel Naval, “Nothing Compares” will have even more of the classic glossy Viva look that marked “No Other Woman”.

“Nothing Compares To You” is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide in October.

Maja Salvador - Matteo Guidicelli Breakup Confirmed

One month after the rumored uncoupling of Kapamilya real-life sweethearts Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidicelli surfaced, the sad news was given a confirmation by Maja herself during her guesting this morning on "KrisTV".

Maja admitted in her interview with Kris Aquino on Friday, August 3, the she and Matteo already decided to part ways....temporarily.

Maja, however, despise the rumor that a third-party is the reason for their break-up.

"Wala namang third party, parang nag-decide lang kami na i-end muna ang relationship kasi may priorities kaming dapat unahin like siya yung career niya at pagiging triathlete niya siyempre yung oras mo sobrang mahahati sa lahat tapos ako din naman sa trabaho, yung taping namin so minsan mahirap yung hindi laging nagkikita hindi mabalance yung oras sa isa't isa," the young actress said.

Ouch! Sad.

Bestfriends Robert Capron and Zachary Gordon are Back in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days"

Bestfriends Robert Capron and Zachary Gordon are Back in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days"

Wimpy kid Greg Heffley’s best friend Rowley has given friendship a cool and solid splash since appearing in author Greg Kinney’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” book series and movies.

Typifying an epitome of an ideal best friend in today’s crazy-cut hub of growing teens, Rowley played by Robert Capron in the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movies is back the 3rd time in “Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.” Rowley, a parent-abiding teen leads his best friend Greg Heffley with their other friends out of trouble in and out of school. The very dependable and charming Rowley takes in all the fun with a wise twist to keep out of the punishment radar from parents and school authorities alike.

In the movie “Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days,” the filmmakers and writers based the story from Kinney’s third and fourth books – The Last Straw and Dog Days.

In the latest film, school’s out and Greg is looking forward to enjoying the best summer of all time. But when his dad decides that some father-son bonding is in order, Greg must do everything he can to keep him from ruining his vacation. So he hatches a plan along with Rowley to pretend he has a job at a ritzy country club – but even that fails to keep Greg away from the season’s dog days, including embarrassing mishaps at a public pool and a camping trip that goes horribly wrong.

Robert Capron again brings his signature charm to the role of Rowley. “He walked in and he was Rowley,” producer Brad Simpson remembers of Capron’s audition for the first picture. “He has a huge heart, is excited about life and the world, and has some of the same qualities that Rowley has.”

Meanwhile, check out these safety tips from Rowley on how to deal with adults to save yourself from the ordeals of being grounded.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days” will open in local (Philippines) cinemas on August 15 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Impossible is Equally Possible for Liam Neeson in “Taken 2”

2008's hit action-thriller “Taken” took the multi-faceted actor Liam Neeson’s career in a new milieu as a relatable action hero. The role of Bryan Mills, the embittered former CIA man forcing his way into a dark sex cartel to save his kidnapped daughter, became iconic, resonating with audiences all over the globe.

Back for more carnage, Neeson reprises the role of Bryan Mills in “Taken 2” shot in Istanbul which also stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace. “Taken 2” reunites Neeson with his co-stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace, who play Bryan's estranged wife and his precious daughter. “Bryan's a total superhero,” says Janssen, weighing in on what made audiences connect with the first film. “Taken really came at a time when people needed that in their lives, because it's about family and protecting your family. He's a very American hero.”

In this latest action-packed reel set against the backdrop of Istanbul, Mills is being followed by the Albanian goons determined to exact revenge on him and his family. In the lead to exact revenge on Mills is Murad (Rade Sherbedgia) who is the father of the kidnapper that Mills killed in the first movie. With Mills and his wife taken, Kim (Maggie Grace) is left to save her parents.

Without giving away too much of the movie- Neeson teases that in the movie, “I’m able to, in a very covert way, instruct her to find out where I am being held because a sack’s been put over my head and I’m in the middle of a dungeon. It’s highly impossible yet equally possible,” says Neeson from an interview with Empire magazine.

“Taken 2” opens nationwide in the Phils. on October 4 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton vs Abigail Ramos of Mexico on "Laban ng Lahi: Bagyo sa Mexico 3" this Sunday on GMA-7

Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton vs Abigail Ramos of Mexico on "Laban ng Lahi: Bagyo sa Mexico 3" this Sunday on GMA-7

Coming off her impressive victory against Yolanda Segura of Mexico last May, Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton, the first Filipino-American boxer to win the Women's WBO Super Bantamweight and IBA Super Bantamweight titles, returns to Yucatan, Mexico for her fight against Abigail “Pinguita” Ramos.

GMA Network brings the third instalment of The Hurricane’s Laban ng Lahi series titled “Bagyo sa Mexico 3 – Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton v Abigail “Pinguita” Ramos” this Sunday, August 5, 11 AM to 12 NN before Party Pilipinas.

This is the third time that the two-time world boxing champion sets foot in the Mexican territory, who gave her the nickname “Yucatan Princess” as she already has a strong following among Mexican boxing fans.

Julaton was initially scheduled to fight another Mexican boxer, Magali Rodriguez but the latter suddenly lost touch with Orion Sports.

She simply disappeared on us,” said Orion Sports President Allan Tremblay. “She left us hanging a week and half before the fight. Fortunately, we were able to secure Abigail Ramos who was in training for another fight and jumped at the chance to fight Ana. These things happen in boxing and you just have to deal with them.

The fight marks Ramos’ entry in the professional boxing arena after setting a record of 3 wins, 3 losses and 2 knockouts as an amateur compared to Julaton’s 10 wins including 1 knockout, 3 losses, and 1 draw.

Tremblay, however, said that Julaton should not take her opponent lightly despite her young career.

The 32-year old pride of the Philippines is set to bring her years of experience to this battle, being one of the fastest fighters in history to become a world champion after only seven professional fights.

This is still a major fight for me,” she said. “Ramos has nothing to lose and will bring it all, and I have to be prepared accordingly. A loss would derail my long standing dream of fighting in the Philippines in front of my own people and I simply cannot let that happen. Making adjustments for a last minute change of opponent is a challenge in itself but I will be ready.”

The fight will also air live via Super Radyo DZBB 594khz at 11:45 AM on Saturday, August 4 anchored by Orly Trinidad at Manny Vargas.
