‘It’s Showtime’ Premieres Monday, February 6

The ‘madlang people’ are all in for the most exciting treat of their lives as ABS-CBN brings unparalleled fun, amusing games and loads of exciting prizes via its newest and much-anticipated noontime show “It’s Showtime” beginning Monday, February 6.

The show’s enthusiastic hosts Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, ‘Kuya’ Kim Atienza, Karylle, Vice Ganda, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta and ex-hurados and now hosts Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, and Coleen Garcia will spark the network’s afternoon block with their spanking new segments and gimmicks that will indulge Filipinos’ love for fun and entertainment.

I hope Filipinos will continue to embrace us the way they did when we were still in the morning timeslot,” said Vhong.

Vice, who will be hosting his own videoke showdown segment, said viewers will not be seeing the usual “Showtime” that they patronized for the past two years. “There will be new tricks and acts they can participate in and in no time at all be part of their lives,” he declared.

Anne also revealed that they will be using new songs, outfits, and jokes in the show, while Karylle said all of them will “shine” in their own segments, which were created based on the hosts’ respective talents and strengths.

While the classic “Arte Mo!” segment headlined by Vhong and Anne is making a big comeback, Billy encouraged the public to watch out for the stand-in characters he and Vhong will be portraying.

Another major surprise in store for the madlang people is the grandest game of “It’s Showtime,” wherein the hosts will come together to offer a whopping jackpot prize of P500,000 to participants.

The hosts guarantee that all the gimmicks and segments they will be launching were made to give premium entertainment to Filipino households in the Philippines and worldwide through The Filipino Channel (TFC).

“We’re not competing with anyone. We just want to continue making the madlang people happy,” Anne pointed out.

Meanwhile, the trademark talent search element will remain as one of the noontime show’s highlights to serve as platform for the most entertaining Filipino performers who want to showcase their talents or be simply seen on television.

Don’t miss out on all the fun and laughter! “It’s Showtime” has to offer! ‘Party-party’ with the ‘unkabogable’ barkada of ABS-CBN’s much-awaited noontime show premiering on Monday, February 6, 11:30 a.m. on ABS-CBN. Kabarkadas should also stay tuned to Studio 23 from February 6 to 10 for the simulcast of “It’s Showtime.”

Check out the brand new music video of Pop Queen Madonna for her latest retro-dancey single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" featuring M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.

"Give Me All Your Luvin'" is the lead single of her 12th studio album produced by Martin Solveig.

[Madonna]
L-U-V Madonna
Y-O-U You wanna
I see you coming and I don’t wanna know your name
L-U-V Madonna
I see you coming and you’re gonna have to change the game
Y-O-U You wanna
Would you like to try?
Give me a reason why
Give me all that you got
Maybe you’ll do fine
As long as you don’t lie to me
And pretend to be what you’re not

[Chorus]
Don’t play the stupid game
Cause I’m a different kind of girl
Every record sounds the same
You’ve got to step into my world
Give me all your love and give me your love
Give me all your love today
Give me all your love and give me your love
Let’s forget about time
And dance our lives away

[Madonna]
L-U-V Madonna
Y-O-U You wanna
Keep trying don’t give up, it’s if you want it bad enough
L-U-V Madonna
It’s right in front of you, now tell me what you're thinking of
Y-O-U You wanna
In another place, at a different time
You can be my lucky star
We can drink some wine
Burgundy is fine
Let’s drink the bottle every drop

[Chorus]
Don’t play the stupid game
Cause I’m a different kind of girl
Every record sounds the same
You’ve got to step into my world

Give me all your love and give me your love
Give me all your love today
Give me all your love and give me your love
Let’s forget about time
And dance our lives away

[Nicki Minaj]
Give me all your love boy
You can be my boy, you can be my boy toy
In the nick of time, I can say a sicker rhyme
Cause it's time for change, like a nickel or a dime
I'm roman, i'm a barbarian, i'm conan
You was sleeping on me, you were dosin'
Now move, im goin' in

[Bridge]
You have all the L-U-V
I gave you everything you need (now move!)
Now it’s up to Y-O-U
Are you the one, shall we proceed?

[M.I.A.]
Me it. Licks. I'm so swag sh-t
Glad, no one gave you this
It's super sonic, bionic, you rainy hicks
So I act like i'm off tricks
Let's pay it with sticks
I'mma say this once, yeah, I don't give a sh-t

[Chorus]
Don’t play the stupid game
Cause I’m a different kind of girl
Every record sounds the same
You’ve got to step into my world

Give me all your love and give me your love
L-U-V Madonna
Give me all your love and give me your love
Y-O-U You wanna
Give me all your love and give me your love
Give me all your love today
Give me all your love and give me your love
Let’s forget about time
And dance our lives away

GMA-7 Wins the Heart of Viewing Public in January 2012 According to AGB Nielsen

GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) delivered a compelling sign-on this 2012 after winning the most number of Filipino urban television households nationwide this January, according to data of the more widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on household data recorded during the entire month (January 22 to 31 based on overnight readings), GMA had 36.7 average household audience share points, higher by 7.7 points than ABS-CBN's 29 points; and 21.5 points over TV5's 15.2 points.

Using an estimate of five viewers per household, GMA had 1.4 million more viewers over ABS-CBN and 3.9 million more viewers over TV5 from all over the country this January.

In Total Urban Luzon, which comprises over 77 percent of total television households nationwide, GMA posted double-digit leads over ABS-CBN and TV5. GMA had 39.9 household share points versus ABS-CBN's 25.5 points and TV5's 15.

GMA's solid programming therefore won approximately two million more viewers than ABS-CBN and about 3.5 million more viewers over TV5 in this area.

In Mega Manila, which now makes up more than 59 percent of total urban television households nationwide due to the recently added panel homes in Batangas and Laguna, GMA registered stronger double-digit margins over competing stations. GMA recorded 40.8 household share points as against ABS-CBN's 23.8 and TV5's 15.8 points.

In GMA's recognized bailiwick, it had an estimated 1.9 milllion more viewers over ABS-CBN and about 2.8 million more viewers over TV5 this January.

GMA continues its dominating performance across all areas in both morning and afternoon blocks. On primetime (6pm to 11pm), GMA hiked its nationwide share points from 31.8 points in December 2011 to 33.1 points in January this year. ABS-CBN, on the other hand, dropped its nationwide primetime share by 0.2 point.

GMA dominated the lists of overall top 10 programs in Total Urban Luzon and Mega Manila with seven and eight entries, respectively.

The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies including two other local networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.

In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 1,190 homes as compared to Kantar Media's 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,000 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.

ABS-CBN Leads Primetime TV Viewership in January 2012 According to Kantar Media/TNS

ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate, opens the year 2012 on a high note as it continues to lead national TV ratings in January, especially on primetime when most Filipinos TV and where advertisers invest most of their TV ad placements.

Kantar Media, which has national samples of 1,389 homes and 8,015 individuals that are statistically representative of total Philippine TV population, reported that ABS-CBN scored an average audience share of 41.2% nationwide based on households watching TV, or a nine point lead against rival GMA that hit only 32.1% on primetime (6pm – 12mn).

ABS-CBN programs once again proved to be the most watched in the previous month as eight out of the top ten programs nationwide for January were produced by ABS-CBN.

Top-caliber primetime series “Walang Hanggan” instantly rose to the top spot with an average household TV rating of 29.6% followed by weeknight tearjerker “Budoy” and recently concluded Christmas-serye “Ikaw ay Pag-ibig” on the second spot, both with 29.4%.

Kim Chiu starrer “My Binondo Girl,” which also aired its finale, garnered an average household TV rating of 28.2% in fourth while Asia’s longest running drama anthology “MMK” is on fifth with 27.5%.

Newest series “Eboy,” on the other hand, secured the sixth spot despite its only few days of airing and scored an average national TV rating of 27.2%.

Meanwhile, “TV Patrol” opens the year of the water dragon still as the number one newscast in the country as it hit an average household TV rating of 26.3% as opposed to rival “24 Oras” with only 19.8%.

She may be gone for good, but Elisa can still be found in Kantar Media’s most watched list last month as the local adaptation “Nasaan Ka Elisa?” placed 7th nationwide with 24.4%.

Completing the top ten is the number one current affairs show in the country, “Rated K,” anchored by Korina Sanchez, which got the last spot with 21.8% average household TV rating.

ABS-CBN registered a net income of P2.2 billion in the first nine months of 2011, while news media reported that GMA Network earned P1.58 billion net income in the same period.

National Primetime TV Viewership in January 2012 by Households

Kantar Media, a multinational market research group that specializes in audience measurement in more than 80 countries, has 22 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation. They also include pan-regional networks likes CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court contrary to claims by GMA, which is not a party to the case, that it has been resolved.

Angel Locsin Secret to be Revealed this Saturday Night on ABS-CBN

Angel Locsin admitted recently that just like her character in new Star Cinema movie “Unofficially Yours,” her relationship with the athlete she currently dates is also unofficial.

The actress, however, clarified that her situation in real life is definitely far from what her character has experienced in the movie. She also said that what really matters most in a relationship isn’t the status but the mutual and unconditional love that both parties feel.

“My situation is totally different. I don’t relate much to my character,” she said.

If Angel didn’t disclose much about her love life, her character in “Toda Max” Isabel will be put into test, as her secret with boyfriend’s cousin Tol (Robin Padilla) is set to be revealed.

Tol will hesitate first in telling his cousin Justin (Vhong Navarro) what really happened between him and Isabel. Tol will find relief in making himself busy with work. That’s why he won’t notice that his daughter (Aaliyah Benisano) is also being secretive to him.

Sandy and Lady G’s (Pokwang) son Jonas (Paul Salas) will come home late to attend a dance practice intended for their school’s Foundation day. To get Tol’s consent, the two will lie and say they’re with Isabel.

Upon knowing this secret, Tol will get mad and paranoid that her daughter might get pregnant soon.

What if Tol finally tells Justin what happened between him and Isabel? Will there be another misunderstanding?

Grace Lee - Get to Know More About the Future (?) First Lady

Now that President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III himself confirmed on Wednesday during the 25th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Information Agency in Quezon City that he and TV personality and radio DJ Grace Lee are seeing each other, all eyes are on the 29-year-old Korean.

But while PNoy revealed the current state of his (love) life, he still refused to give more details about his blossoming relationship with Lee.

Lee one of FHM's 100 Sexiest Women

While Aquino first met Lee only last year, during the inauguration of the Korea Electric Power Corp. power plant in Cebu, Lee has already caught the fancy of many Filipino men.

Lee was at No. 57 on FHM's list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2010, which is based on fan votes.

On that issue, FHM wrote: "Anytime with Good Times co-host Grace Lee is indubitably a good time. She’s been a media darling because of her gorgeous Korean features and bombshell body, and too modest a personality, Ms. Lee is a Grade A, a classy woman who’s got the brains to match the body."

There is even a Facebook page called "We want Grace Lee to be in the cover of FHM," which was set up after Lee supposedly said that she would agree to grace the cover of the popular men's magazine if she makes it to the top of the 100 Sexiest Women list.

While Lee never agreed to be on FHM's cover, she did appear in another men's magazine, UNO, wearing an unbuttoned white polo dress to reveal a pinstriped satin slip, showing plenty of cleavage.

"I’m Korean in blood, but definitely Filipino in nature. Totoo ‘yan,” Lee told the magazine.

Lee was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the Philippines when she was 10 because of her father's business. She finished her high school at St. Paul's College in Pasig City, where she had studied since Grade 3. She took up Communication Arts at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Even then, Lee was already a beauty. She won third place in the Miss Chinese International pageant held in Hong Kong, according to her profile in a newspaper.

Before becoming a TV and radio personality in 2007, Lee actually got to work at Malacañang as an official interpreter.

News broke on Twitter

The news about Lee and Aquino first came out after her "Good Times" co-host Mo Twister, who is currently in the United States, said on his Twitter account: "We are talking about Grace Lee's date last night with President Aquino. #itsmorefuninthephilippines."

This after a certain Adrian Abella tweeted Mo Twister: "Just asked Grace Lee if it's true that she had dinner with President Aquino. She said she did."

Lee initially denied a newspaper report claiming that she admitted dating Aquino. "I never said we dated. Nor did I say we are text mates. Nor that he comes to visit me," she said on Twitter.

But after Aquino's admission on Wednesday, Lee was quoted as saying, "What the President said is true.

Getting to know each other

Now that Aquino and Lee publicly admitted their relationship, Lee explained that she only started seeing the Aquino “very recently” and that they’re still on the "getting to know each other" stage.

After the Cebu thing, there was nothing. No communication, there was no opportunity for me to meet him again,” she said, adding “Actually, we’ve only been dating for a short while. Going out on dinners, ganun lang. I think we’re still at the stage of getting to know each other.”

Kris excited to meet Lee

This is not the first time Lee's name has been linked to the Aquino family.

In 2010, there have been blind items linking her to James Yap, who was at that time still married to Kris Aquino, the president's youngest sister.

Lee, however, vehemently denied the rumors, telling the Manila Bulletin at the time that she and Yap have never been introduced to each other and that they just happened to go to the same beauty salon.

This particular issue obviously fizzled out since Kris doesn't seem bothered by the news of her brother and Lee.

Kris even revealed that the President has already introduced Lee to one of their sisters.

My ate has met her. Hindi ko pa siya nakikilala but my ate has really nice words to say about her so I’m so looking forward to also meeting her,” Kris told ABS-CBN News.

There were also rumors linking Lee to other politicians, which she also denied. However, she did admit on TV at that time that she cried over such issues.

But this time around, Lee is said to be more prepared to face public scrutiny.

Her manager Arnold Vegafria told ABS-CBN News that Lee is obviously inspired these days.

"Based on my observation with Grace, iba yung spark niya ngayon. Iba ang smile niya when she talked to me about this,” Vegafria said.
