Ramona Bautista Fakes Abduction According to Police Reports

Ramona Bautista, sister of slained actor-politician Ramgen "Ram" Revilla, might have faked her abduction to cover up the crime according to Paranaque police chief Senior Superintendent Billy Beltran.

She failed to identify the suspects as they were wearing a "Halloween" type mask, though she was able to describe one as 5’7” tall, wearing a baggy pants and a jacket.

Lito Lapid Cancer Rumor Belied

Senator Lito Lapid refutes reports he has a cancer.

"Nagulat nga ako kasi ang nakarating sa aking balita noong nasa Amerika ako ay may cancer na raw ako. Siyempre, natawa na lang ako kasi wala naman akong gano'ng sakit." Lapid confirms.

How did his family handles the nasty rumor?

"Sinabi ko naman sa kanila na wala silang dapat na ipagbahala dahil okey ako. I'm healthy and there's nothing wrong with me." he said.

According to the Senator, the news all came-out when he went to the US for a medical check-up.

"Malakas pa raw ako at kaya ko pa raw mag-Leon Guerrero!"

Wardrobe Malfunction Fine: Janet Jackson Wardrobe Malfunction Might Cost CBS a $550,000 Fine

Wardrobe malfunction fine for Janet Jackson‘s infamous breast exposure during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show was overruled by the federal appeals court.

On Wednesday, November 2, the courted ruled that CBS should not be fined $550,000 for Janet Jackson‘s “wardrobe malfunction” during her “Rock Your Body” performance with Justin Timberlake because it was purely an accident.

The Parents Television Council, on the other hand, was not happy with the decision.

PTC President Tim Winter has released a statement regarding this matter:

Today’s ruling reaches the level of judicial stupidity and is a sucker-punch to families everywhere. In rendering an opinion it wishes to foist on the nation, the Third Circuit has chosen to ignore the law, the facts, Supreme Court precedent, the intent of the Congress and the will of the American people

Tim Winter added, “How can nudity and a striptease in front of 90 million unsuspecting TV viewers not qualify as indecency? We’re not talking about content that aired after 10 pm in front of 90 million adults. Each and every year the Super Bowl broadcast draws the highest viewership ratings of the year, including tens of millions of children and families.”

The 3rd Circuit in 2008 struck down the wardrobe malfunction fine, but that decision was vacated when the US Supreme Court in 2009 upheld the FCC policy as rational. It did not decide whether the policy was constitutional, and returned the case to the 3rd Circuit which maintained that it’s not CBS’ fault.

CBS, by the way, was fined $27,500 for each of its 20 stations in the US.

Supermassive Black Hole: A Huge Hole Created by Cosmic Collisions

Supermassive Black Hole: A Huge Hole Created by Cosmic Collisions

Supermassive black hole clouds are believed by scientists as the cosmic remains from violent and high-speed collisions between planets and asteroids.

The supermassive black hole clouds are mysterious donut-shaped clouds of dust found near some gigantic black holes and an internatioanal team of astronomers studied a host of upermassive black holes, which reside in the central parts of most galaxies.

“Too bad for life on these planets, but on the other hand the dust created in this way blocks much of the harmful radiation from reaching the rest of the host galaxy,” study author Sergei Nayakshin of England’s University of Leicester said in a statement. “This in turn may make it easier for life to prosper elsewhere in the rest of the central region of the galaxy.”

According to Space.com, the collisions mix with intense radiation, making the planets orbiting these supermassive black holes sterile before they are destroyed.

Ram Revilla Murder Update: GF Janelle Manahan Gives Testimony on the Murder of Ram Revilla

Janelle Manahan, a lucky survivor in the massacre that killed his boyfriend Ramgen "Ram" Revilla in the latter's home at Phase 6, BF Homes, Parañaque City on October 28, gave her testimonies to police authorities today, at the Asian Hospital sa Alabang, Muntinlupa where she is being treated for 2 gunshots.

According to Chief Superintendent Enrique Sy, head of Task Force Ramgen, Janelle's testimonies contradict to the statements provided by Ram's sister, Maria Ramona Bautista, who is now being eyed as one of the prime suspects together with his other brother Ramon Joseph "RJ" Bautista and 5 other suspects named Michael Cruz Altia, Roy Francis Tolisora, Glaiza Vista, Norwyn Dela Cruz, and a certain Bryan.

"Nakuhanan na rin namin siya [Janelle] ng pahayag, at lalong tumibay ang kaso namin laban kay Ramona." Sy declared.

"Dahil sa nakita niya yung pangyayari - yung pinagbuksan raw niya ng pinto si Ramona tapos maya-maya kasunod yung gunman na naka-maskara,"

Sy added that Janelle asked Ramona to call an ambulance right after the attack but Ramona eventually was nowhere to be found.

"Hiningan niya ng tulong si Ramona sa loob ng kuwarto nila noong may tama na sila ng bala.

"Pagkatapos ng insidente, pinakukuha niya ng ambulansiya at tulong, pero hindi na bumalik si Ramona." Sy said.

Janelle's statements contradict to a previous statement made by Ramona, where she said that the man who killed her brother abducted her and then abandoned her somewhere in Las Pinas after the murder.

Authorities are now concluding that Ramona might have concocted her statement in an attempt to clear her name.

RJ was arrested on November 1 at Ram's wake and has been charged with murder and frustrated murder cases, while Ramona is reportedly now in the custody of his half-brother Sen. Bong Revilla Jr.

Sy said they already asked the Senator to turn over her sister to the authorities for questioning but still not able to get any response.

Sy also revealed that the Revilla siblings had been fighting over the monthly allowance from their father allegedly reaching P1 million but was refuted by Portia Ilagan, Revilla family spokesperson, saying she was not aware of any sibling rivalry among the children of former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr.

Juan Manuel Marquez Admits Conditioning Coach is a Former Steroids Dealer

Juan Manuel Marquez, World boxing lightweight champion, came in defense of Angel Hernandez (or Angel Heredia), his new strength and conditioning coach who has been involved in performance enhancing drugs and steroids issues in the past, according to a report from RingTV.com.

Hernandez, who was hired by Marquez to help him prepare for his upcoming bout with Filipino boxing champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, reportedly admitted to a San Francisco court in May 2008 that he had supplied Olympians, including Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery, with performance enhancing substances like the blood-booster EPO, growth hormone and insulin

He also admitted to selling banned substances to other Olympians, including gold medalists Antonio Pettigrew, Jerome Young and Dennis Mitchell, according to a BBC report.

In a conference call with RingTV and other boxing media, Marquez defended Hernandez and said he has no knowledge of his new nutritionist's dealings with steroids.

"I didn't find out any of this other stuff until it was written over the last couple of days. It was big news to me," Marquez said, adding "I just knew that he had trained a lot of elite and world class athletes before I met him. We talked about what we needed to do. I was very happy with what he told me that I needed to do."

Greece's cabinet has given unanimous backing to a controversial plan by PM George Papandreou to hold a referendum on a EU debt rescue package.

He told an emergency cabinet meeting a referendum, possibly in December, would offer "a clear mandate" for austerity measures demanded by eurozone partners.

Stock markets recorded big drops amid shocked reactions in eurozone capitals to the referendum announcement.

Mr Papandreou is due to meet European leaders in France on Wednesday.

In a cabinet meeting lasting late into Tuesday night, Mr Papandreou told ministers the government needed the consent of the Greek people.

In a statement released by his office, he said: "The referendum will be a clear mandate and a clear message in and outside Greece on our European course and participation in the euro."

Mr Papandreou also said a possible alternative of snap elections would risk Greece defaulting on its debt.

The Greek government faces a crucial confidence vote in parliament on Friday.

One MP from the governing Pasok party has resigned, cutting Mr Papandreou's parliamentary majority to two - and six other leading party members have called on him to resign.

Manny Pacquiao, The Godfather of Who?

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Manny Pacquiao, The Godfather of Who?

Pinoy pound-for-pound world boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao covers the latest issue of international weekly magazine Newsweek, released in the Philippines and in Latin American countries.

Titled as “Pacquiao: The Godfather", this issue features a story of Pacquiao, who is described as the Filipino boxing champ and lawmaker as the “pound-for-pound greatest fighter on earth" and “an almost religious figure, whose following is ecstatically cult-like."

The story, written by Lawrence Osborne, also discussed how Pacquiao rose to popularity and how the international boxing champ spends his time outside the ring.

Osborne recently traveled to Manila and General Santos City to see, for himself, how Pacquiao runs his day. He first met the boxer at the airport, and they shook hands.

Osborne must have thought it was his chance, but in the wink of an eye, Pacquiao, mobbed and surrounded by bodyguards, was gone, in a trail of SUVs.

If I had amputated my hand, which had just shaken Pacquiao’s, I could probably have sold it to souvenir hunters,” Osborne wrote.

He quoted one of Pacquiao’s aides, who said, “It’s like trying to get lunch with Jesus Christ.

Osborne knew how big Pacquiao, the fighting congressman, is, and how he had amazingly crossed the boundaries of sports.

To call Manny Pacquiao a boxer is one of those descriptions that don’t quite fly, like calling Mahatma Gandhi a Hindu lawyer,” he wrote.

Before he knew it, Osborne was watching Pacquiao play “Godfather” to the thousands lining up for his television game show “Manny, Many Prizes,” and around the pool tables of the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila, and JMix in General Santos City.

In Manila he saw Pacquiao trying his luck against Filipino pool icon Efren “Bata” Reyes who just couldn’t miss a shot, and winning close to P2 million on a different night on the pool table.

In the boxer’s P35 million mansion in General Santos, Osborne found his moment, and heard what he wanted to hear from Pacquiao.

It’s like being the parent of the whole Filipino people. I fulfill all my promises, unlike most politicians in this country,” Pacuiao told Osborne.

Did you enjoy the hospital ceremony this morning? Sarangani, the place I grew up, doesn’t even have a hospital, not even one – 500,000 people and no hospital. So I built a hospital. Remember, I don’t need to enter politics. I have all the money I need. I could just be enjoying myself. But I have a duty to the people. I want to set the new example, to change the Philippines.”

Osborne also wrote about Pacquiao’s plans to run for governor in the next local elections in 2013, and then for senator in 2016.

Sneak Peek: “Arthur Christmas”

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

The 3D, CG-animated family comedy “Arthur Christmas,” an Aardman production for Sony Pictures Animation, at last reveals the incredible, never-before-seen answer to every child's question: “So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?” The answer: Santa's exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the heart of the film is a story with the ingredients of a Christmas classic – a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero: Santa’s youngest son, Arthur. When this amazing operation misses one child out of hundreds of millions, the least capable Claus embarks on a hilarious, exciting rogue mission against the clock to deliver the last present before Christmas morning dawns.

“The movie is really funny and very clever – in just the way that all Aardman material is,” James McAvoy says, who provides the voice of Arthur. “It’s ingenious, inventive, irreverent, different, and funny – I suppose that’s what drew all of us to do it.”

The film also stars Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, and Ashley Jensen. Directed by Sarah Smith. Produced by Peter Lord, David Sproxton, Carla Shelley and Steve Pegram. Written by Peter Baynham & Sarah Smith. Co-Producers are Chris Juen and Peter Baynham. Co-Director is Barry Cook.

Opening across the Philippines in December, “Arthur Christmas” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit www.sonypictures.com.ph to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.
