Kapuso actor Paulo Avelino Transfers to Kapamilya Network

Posted by JED on , under | comments (2)

After all the delays, it is now confirmed that Kapuso young actor Paulo Avelino is transferring to the Kapamilya network.

On his twitter account, the Starstruck alumnus gave a hint on this news. The actor tweeted "It's always sad and painful to say goodbye. :("

Paulo is the latest Starstruck graduate to transfer to ABS-CBN to further their career following Starstruck season 4's Ultimate Sweetheart Jewel Mische and avengers Paul Salas, Megan Young, Cristine Reyes, Johan Santos, Tyrone Perez and Piero Vergara.

What went wrong to GMA-7's counter-offer that made Paolo's transfer delayed for weeks?

Just last Wednesday, while in the middle of supposed to be re-negotiation with his mother network, Paulo re-tweeted a very intriguing comment originally posted by his girlfriend LJ Reyes about hardwork and acceptance which could be associated with his decision to officially accept ABS-CBN's offer. To quote: "What's the use of determination, willingness and hardwork when they're not welcome!????!!!!" Then followed with a much more intriguing message that insinuates goodbyes, "then work for someone who welcomes it and appreciates :p tomoh ba?".

LeBron James said, "You can never get those high school days back." He talked of the bond the young men have for one another. "It doesn't take a ceremony to get us together. We will be lifelong friends."

James has given a lot to the City of Akron, as evidenced by his Wheels For Education which is this Saturday.

Ex-St. Vincent St. Mary teammate Romeo Travis said, "Cleveland and Akron are two different places." He felt Akron has warmed back up to LeBron.

McCain Hobbits Comment: Republicans Seek Apology

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

McCain hobbits comment to a tea party-backed Republicans on Wednesday earns frustrations and negative criticisms from public.

Sen. John McCain's harsh words began when he reacts to a Wall Street Journal editorial about the US Tea Party element who are demanding a vote on a balanced budget amendment before they will vote to raise the debt limit.

"The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor." the Arizona Republican Senator said.

When confronted and asked for an apology by his constituents during last Monday's town hall meeting, McCain said, "I am sorry if I was misunderstood. But I am not sorry for what I said. Why should I if it was a fact?"

Renee Zellweger Bridget Jones Diary 3 Movie In the Works

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Our favorite Renee Zellweger is back as Bridget Jones in the third installment of a romantic comedy film based on Helen Fielding's novel of the same name.

In a report by Entertainment Weekly, Working Title Films is moving ahead in the production of the film's third sequel.

While there is not much details about the film, Colin Firth - who plays Mark Darcy in the first two sequels - shared a possible plot to Access Hollywood guest correspondent Dave Karger last year.

"I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can't have children, I think that's the way it goes on. So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver [played by Hugh Grant] for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she's left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?" Colin said.

Aside from that, the London Evening Standard reported that author Helen Fielding had started working on a third book.

"I will be working on both the book and the film but I don't know if they are the same thing yet. It's not been decided," Helen said.

The first film, "Bridget Jones's Diary," released in 2001, grossed $281 million internationally, while 2004's sequel, "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," took in $262 million, according to EW.

Rose McGowan Bisexual?

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Rose McGowan, raised by drag queens and a known advocate for the gay community, is not at all bisexual.

In her recent interview with the Advocate, McGowan tells about her rocky childhood and how she found love and care with the drag queens.

"At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Oregon. We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love. Not to mention, those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them." the Conan the Barbarian star says.

McGowan further details fun times that she had with her guardians and the way in which they impact her to this day.

"I could finagle my way into lots of different places," she says about whether she could get into night clubs despite her young age. "Whether it was how I danced or the way I looked, I was always quite celebrated in the gay clubs. To this day, I only go to gay clubs. I’m perfectly at home there. I also like watching hot boys and hot girls who can dance."

That being said, as hard as she tries, she doesn't find herself attracted to women. Off-screen, at least.

"I disappoint myself. I’ve never even kissed a girl. Isn’t that funny? The girls I think are cute look like guys, but then I think, But if they open their shirt, they’ll have breasts," she muses. "I’d be stoked to do a lesbian love scene. When asked if I’ve kissed a girl, I could finally say, ‘Why, yes, I have. And I got paid.’"

Korea's "Big Thing" is now on GMA-7

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

The Koreanovela that received the most trophies in the 2010 SBS Drama Awards is now in the Philippines.

“Big Thing” stars Ko Hyun Jung, who portrayed Lady Mishil in Queen Seon Deok. This time, however, she is no longer the villain but is now the main protagonist of the story.

Kwon Sang Woo, who is popularly known as Cholo in Stairway to Heaven, also makes a comeback and plays as a prosecutor named Edward Ha.

The story of “Big Thing” tells of Maureen’s (Ko Hyun Jung) rise to power as the first female president of South Korea. She started as a TV announcer who protested against the government because of her husband’s death in the hands of terrorists.

Two men aid her to succeed in politics: Edward, her friend who secretly loves her; and Victor Kang (Cha In Pyo), the congressman who urged her to run for president for his own ambitions.

Can Maureen survive the difficult and sometimes dirty world of politics? Whom should she trust? Is there a room for love in her life — both as a single mom and as a head of state?

Big Thing promises a highly interesting and relatable plot to the Filipino people. After having two female presidents, Filipinos will definitely want to know the ins and outs of politics from a strong woman’s point of view.

"Big Thing" airs Monday to Friday on GMA-7 Telebabad.

McCain hobbits comments to a tea party-backed Republicans on Wednesday earns frustrations and negative criticisms from public.

Albie Casiño Receives Rave Reviews in '100 Days to Heaven'

Posted by JED on , under | comments (4)

Not only has “100 Days to Heaven” earned the nods of TV viewers and critics, it has also been made the teaching topic of a church sermon.

According to respected critic and columnist Nestor Torre, he heard a sermon himself wherein the priest urged churchgoers to learn from the story of the mean, icy, and cunning owner of a toy empire, Anna Manalastas.

In his sermon, the priest said people can draw inspiration from Anna, who after being killed in a car explosion, was given a second chance at earning a ticket to heaven by doing good to those she have wronged. He said Anna’s story shows the importance of “making amends, asking for forgiveness, attaining closure and deserving a second chance.”

In his review of “100 Days to Heaven,” Torre called it “as this season’s most inspiring TV series.”

And as Anna’s mission in the program continues, the viewers can expect more inspiring stories and moving scenes with the entry of veteran actor Christopher de Leon and controversial actor Albie Casiño, who will play father and son in the show.

Meanwhile, “100 Days to Heaven” also remains as the most-watched TV program across the country with a 32.9% national TV rating on Kantar Media last August 5 as opposed to the 21.5% TV rating of GMA’s “Amaya.”

Sneak Peek: “Friends With Benefits”

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Columbia Pictures gathers Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Bryan Greenberg and Woody Harrelson in the new off-beat romantic comedy “Friends with Benefits.”

In the film, Dylan (Timberlake) and Jamie (Kunis) certainly aren't in a settling-down frame of mind. When New York-based executive recruiter Jamie trains her considerable headhunting skills on luring hotshot LA-based art director Dylan to take a dream job in the Big Apple, they quickly realize what kindred spirits they are. They've each been through so many failed relationships that they're both ready to give up on love and focus on having fun.

So when Dylan relocates to New York and the pair start hanging out regularly, they share plenty of laughs over a twin belief that love is a myth propagated by Hollywood movies. That's when these two begin a deliciously sexy, decidedly grown-up experiment.

Could these two fast friends – who are successful, unattached, and scornful of commitment - explore new terrain?
If they add casual "no emotions" sex to their friendship, can they avoid all the pitfalls that come with thinking about someone else as more than just a pal?

As two people weaned on the disappointing promises of romantic comedies, Dylan and Jamie shouldn’t be entirely surprised when their bold move becomes a bawdy, sexy ride into uncharted territory, exposing much more of themselves than they ever thought they'd get to see.

“Friends with Benefits” is directed and produced by Will Gluck (“Easy A”). The screenplay is by Keith Merryman & David A. Newman, along with Gluck. Story is by Harley Peyton and Keith Merryman & David A. Newman.

Opening soon across the Philippines, “Friends with Benefits” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games. Like us at and join our fan contests.
