Dirk Nowitzki Leads Dallas Mavericks Strong Comeback vs Miami Heat

Posted by JED on , under | comments (2)

(MIAMI, Reuters) - Dirk Nowitzki sparked Dallas Mavericks to a stunning fourth-quarter comeback as the team fought back from 15 points down to beat the Miami Heat 95-93 on Thursday and even the NBA Finals at one game apiece.

Dallas Mavericks All-Star forward Nowitzki, who scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, hit a driving lay-up with three seconds left to provide the winning margin.

Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade launched a 28-foot, three-point attempt at the buzzer but it hit the back of the rim, eliciting a collective groan from the 20,000 at American Airlines Arena.

"Defensively we really got up, into them, started to pressure the full court, and then we scrambled defensively," said Nowitzki.

"We even gave up some second, offensive rebounds but we kept scrambling offensively. When we get some stops and we can move and we can play off the flow."

The best-of-seven series shifts to Dallas for the next three games, with Game Three set for Sunday at the American Airlines Center.

Miami Heat looked to have seized control of the game with a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter that padded their two-point advantage into a 88-73 lead with just over seven minutes left.

Wade, who scored 36 points on a variety of long jump shots, running one-handers and fast breaks, scored nine points during the run, triggering a party atmosphere in South Florida.

But the resilient Dallas Mavericks embarked on a 20-2 run of their own and Nowitzki's 25-foot three-pointer with 26 seconds left gave the Mavericks a 93-90 lead.

Miami Heat reserve guard Mario Chalmers responded with a three-pointer just two seconds later, setting the stage for Nowitzki's heroics.

"Hang out. Hang around. Keep believing," said Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle. "This team has been through some difficult situations. We've been down big a couple of times in the playoffs.

"We have shown that we have the ability to come back and the guys believe that if we get stops, we'll always give ourselves a chance. It wasn't gonna happen unless we got stops."

Nowitzki, who injured a tendon in the middle finger of his left hand in the first game of the series, struggled early and hit three of his first 10 shots.

But he recovered in the second half, making 10 of 22 shots for the game.

"All year our guys have believed," said Carlisle. "And tonight was another good example. They had to win the game. It wasn't easy."

2NE1 Arrives in Manila, Preparing for Their Concert at the Araneta Coliseum Tonight

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Korean pop sensation 2NE1 (New Evolution of the 21st Century) arrived in the Philippines on Friday, June 3.

The group arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on board an Asiana Airlines flight from Seoul, Korea for a concert titled "2NE1: The Party" scheduled tonight at the Araneta Coliseum.

According to a report on abscbnnews.com, overzealous unidentified companions of Park started a commotion with airport-based journalists when it shoved and prevented cameramen and photographers from taking pictures and video footage.

A Korean wearing an arrival VIP Pass, identified as Park Sung, even bragged that he can have the cameraman dismissed from his work

A staff of Pulp Live Production was also photographed displaying her bad finger to airport journalists.

Because of the rude behavior of Park and her companions, Customs officials subjected the entourage of 2NE1 to rigid Customs examination before they were allowed to leave the airport

Pandemonium almost broke out when a few hundred fanatics of 2NE1 waiting outside the airport terminal almost over ran a phalanx of airport security.

Dante Basanta, NAIA Terminal 1 manager, said that they will formally write a letter to the event organizer Pulp Live Production for breach of security since the 2NE1 welcoming party wearing arrival VIP Pass should not have been able to roam in the supposed restricted areas of the airport.

Basanta said they are also calling the attention of Pulp Live Production for mishandling airport journalists covering the event.

2NE1 members include CL (Lee Chae Rin), Bom (Park Bom Lee), Dara (Sandara Park) and Minzy (Gong Min-ji).

Meredith Vieira: Why I'm leaving the 'Today' show

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

(PEOPLE.com) - After Meredith Vieira announced that she was leaving the "Today" show last month, tabloids began buzzing that she was planning to spend her days caring for her husband, journalist Richard Cohen, who has multiple sclerosis.

Not so, the TV anchor tells PEOPLE in this week's issue.

"It was being distorted, because it looked better to make it, 'Poor Meredith, she triumphs through it all,' but that wasn't the case," says Vieira, 57. Her husband, 67, would agree.

His reaction to the rumor? "Richard said, 'What is this? You never tend to me! You won't even get me a cup of coffee!' " jokes Vieira. "I said, 'I know! This scam is working!' But enough gets to be enough."

Still, her family did play a major role in her decision.

Tired of waking up at 2:30 a.m. to tape the NBC morning show, Vieira decided she wanted to spend more time with her husband, whose health has been good recently, and her children, Ben, 22, a recent Stanford graduate, Gabe, 19, and Lily, 18, who is about to leave for college.

"We don't know from day to day what might happen," she says. "So why not enjoy life now? It's very precious, and anyone living with any kind of illness knows that. Health is fleeting, and you need to celebrate it while you still have it."

Burbank, CA - Principal photography is underway in London on acclaimed filmmaker Bryan Singer’s 3D epic action adventure “Jack the Giant Killer,” with Nicholas Hoult in the title role of Jack, for New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures.

“Jack the Giant Killer” tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend - and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Hoult and Singer recently collaborated on the Singer-produced “X-Men: First Class,” for release later this year.

“Jack the Giant Killer” also stars Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Isabelle; Stanley Tucci (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Julie & Julia”) as the deceitful Lord Roderick; Ian McShane (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” HBO’s “Deadwood”) as the besieged King Brahmwell; Bill Nighy (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”) as the giants’ leader General Fallon; and Ewan McGregor (“Star Wars,” “The Ghost Writer”) as palace guard Elmont.

Singer will direct from a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney, story by Darren Lemke & David Dobkin. The film will be produced by Neal Moritz, David Dobkin, Bryan Singer and Patrick McCormick.

The creative filmmaking team includes Singer’s longtime collaborators, director of photography Newton Thomas Sigel (“X-Men,” “Superman Returns”) and editor John Ottman (“X2,” “Superman Returns”). The production designer is Gavin Bocquet (“Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”).

“Jack the Giant Killer” is filming on location in and around London, and is scheduled for a summer 2012 release.

20-Year-Old HS Grad Joseph “Nonoy” Murillo is Wil Time Bigtime‘s First Mega Jackpot Winner

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Joseph “Nonoy” Murillo could not help but burst into tears and sprawl himself on Wil Time Bigtime’s LED floor when host Willie Revillame announced that he answered the mega jackpot question correctly.

Ma, hindi ko alam ang sagot,” Nonoy uttered in surprise while his mother tried to hold him up to accept his prizes including P1 million cash, a Foton van and a house and lot from Camella Homes. He sets the record as the first to win the mega jackpot last May 26, Thursday, just 12 days after Wil Time Bigtime was launched last May 14.

Ganyan kasimple ang buhay, dapat lumalaban gaya ni Nonoy,” Willie told the audience after handing Nonoy a P1 million mock check (facsimile of a bank cheque).

The 20-year old gardener and service crew from Paranaque City is a fighter, indeed. Despite his age and lack of money, Nonoy was able to support his education while providing for his family at the same time. “Mataas na ang edad ko pero sinikap ko pa rin po makatapos ng hayskul sa pamamagitan ng pag-woworking student,” he said in an interview with TV5 newscast AKSYON.

Nonoy graduated from high school last March and is planning to pursue a college degree using a portion of money from his cash prize. He also plans to juggle work and school to support the education of his five siblings.

Earlier in the game, Nonoy was ecstatic after making it to the “Wil Time Bigtime” segment. “Napakalaking karangalan po sa amin na makasama sa nag-iisang programang itong nagbibigay ng pag-asa sa’ming mahihirap,” he said.

Nonoy made it to the “Mega Jackpot” round after he finished the mind-challenging game “Step In, Step Out.” For the final question, Willie asked,“Sa listahan ng PAGASA ng mga bagyo ngayong 2011, ano ang magiging pangalan ng panlimang bagyo?” to which Nonoy guessed, “[Letter] C. Egay.”

The people’s show continues to serve family-oriented entertainment with bits of inspiring stories for its millions of viewers every night (Monday to Friday) at 6:30pm and on Saturdays at 5pm only on TV5.

Derek Ramsay Denies Erich Gonzales; Angelica Panganiban Reacts

Posted by JED on , under | comments (2)

Angelica Panganiban must be in state of full relief now that his boyfriend Derek Ramsay finally belied the rumor linking him with Erich Gonzales.

It’s not true guys. My mom asked if she could meet her. I asked Erich and Erich was so nice enough to say yes. Angel knows about this,” Derek said last Sunday on "The Buzz".

With that, the happier Angelica said, “Masaya ako para sa mga tao na inaakalang nagkakaproblema kami. Alam ko natuwa sila sa nangyaring interview dahil finally, eh, naging malinaw sa kanila kung ano talaga ‘yung totoo.”

She also clarifies the reason why Derek has been continuously linked romantically to other girls, “Mas komportable lang kami at mas kaya naming gumalaw dahil naging malinaw sa mga tao kung bakit friendly siyang tao, bakit accommodating siyang tao. Kasi ganoon siya lumaki. Tatlo sa mga kapatid niya, babae, and sobrang lapit niya sa mommy niya. Alam niya kung paano asarin ‘yung babae. Alam niya kung paano maging kaibigan ang isang babae. Nasa tao na ‘yung kung bibigyan niya ng malisya kung ano ‘yung nakikita nila.”

“The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” Contestants Inspire Sharon Cuneta To Slim Down

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition,” the newest offering from reality show capital ABS-CBN, has proven to be a heavyweight not just in the ratings game but also in the hearts of viewers. The show even became a top trending topic in Twitter during its pilot airing with people tweeting their sentiments as they were touched if not inspired by the stories and determination of the contestants.

After posting a rating of 20.5 percent on its premiere telecast based on the national TV ratings from Kantar Media last Monday, May 30, the Sharon Cuneta-hosted reality show has consistently crushed competition and entered the top five TV programs in the country on a daily basis.

More importantly, the inspiring stories of the 14 “Bigating Pinoy” contestants have moved viewers, even Sharon herself.

When the Megastar first met the contestants, who from being 12 became 14 after an early twist in the competition, they felt star-struck and were at loss for words. But the scenes during the recent weigh-in would show the iconic singer-actress was just as at awe and honored to have met them.

Obviously fighting tears, Sharon made a surprising revelation while the contestants lined up to find out their starting weight.

I had a midlife crisis. I was very angry. ‘Cause I was everybody’s sweetheart all of a sudden I turned a year older, everybody changed. And I lost all desire to look good,” she bravely said.

But after seeing the determination of the 14 to face the truth about their condition and their determination to transform their lives, Sharon regained faith in herself to change for the better.

Thank you for making me feel this. I will work hard to slim down and get back in shape,” she said.

Her encouragements and own sharing created an impact on the 14 - Alan, Art, Eboy, Eric, JM, Larry, Raffy, Ryan, Angela, Destiny, Edden, Joy, Hazel and Winwin - because she made them feel they have one more ally in their journey.

Winwin said she feels at home in the camp, because they have someone who understands them and really cares for them. Raffy also said that his respect for the revered actress even grew higher.

The contestants weren’t the only ones positively affected by Sharon’s approach as a host.

Wilbur Ryan Serrano said in Twitter, “I feel yung sincerity ni #sharoncuneta sa mga @BLPinoyEdition ..if theres a will..theres a way...go go go!!

In the popular forum Pinoyexchange izzzzzlaw also posted “gusto ko maghost dito si ate shawie kase may sympathy sya sa mga contstants , at nagmomotivate sa kanila..”

The people behind the program, meanwhile, hope that while viewers continue to support the program, they also begin transforming their own lives, even if it’s not obesity they have to fight.

On the coming days, they will get to see more action as the trainers Jim Saret and Chinggay Andrada begin the rigorous training for their respective teams. Using different methods, the two are wasting no time in getting the contestants to lose as much weight in time for the weigh-in next week. After all, the group with the lesser average percentage of weight-loss will have to pick one member from their team to oust in the show.

Which “Bigating Pinoy” will fall first and which team will win the challenges with game master Derek Ramsay?

Don’t miss the exciting developments in the reality show that will bring big changes to the lives of every Filipino, “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition,” Monday to Friday on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.

Jaycee Dugard S@x Kidnapper Phillip Garrido Gets Life in Prison

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

PLACERVILLE, Calif (Reuters) – The California man who abducted 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991 and held her captive for 18 years was sentenced on Thursday to life in prison.

Phillip Garrido, 60, bowed his head but showed little reaction as he was sentenced following an emotional hearing in which Dugard's tearful mother read a statement from her now-31-year-old daughter.

In the statement, Dugard said that Garrido had stolen her life and that of her family.

Garrido was sentenced by El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Douglas Phimister to 431 years to life in prison. Phimister sentenced Nancy Garrido to 36 years to life in prison.

Phillip Garrido pleaded guilty on April 28 to kidnapping and multiple counts of sexual assault. Nancy Garrido, 55, pleaded guilty to one count each of kidnapping and rape by force.

Nancy Garrido's defense attorney, Stephen Tapson, addressed the court on his client's behalf, apologizing for her role in the case.

"I told Jaycee that my client stole her life," Tapson said in a telephone interview following the hearing.

"Every time she looks in the mirror she doesn't like what she sees because she committed such an evil act," he said. "Words cannot properly express how she feels and obviously she would take it back if she could."

Tapson said that his client was under the hold of Phillip Garrido, which he likened to Stockholm Syndrome.

"Your readers have to understand that she loved these kids like they were her own, both Jaycee and (Jaycee's) kids," Tapson said.

"They had a family relationship at the end there, Jaycee was working in the business (that Garrido ran)," he said. "There was a loving relationship between Jaycee and her kids and Mr. and Mrs. Garrido."

Dugard was snatched from a street near her South Lake Tahoe home on June 10, 1991, as she walked to a school bus stop and not seen or heard from for nearly two decades before she was discovered living with the Garridos in 2009.

Her stunning rescue in 2009, at the age of 29, made international headlines.

Prosecutors say Phillip Garrido kept Dugard hidden for much of that time in a squalid compound of tents and sheds behind his Northern California home, fathering two girls with her when she was still a teen.

They were rescued after Phillip Garrido aroused suspicions while proselytizing with Dugard's daughters on the University of California, Berkeley campus.

Dugard's family received a $20 million settlement in 2009 through a state victims' compensation fund.

The California inspector general found that state officials failed to properly supervise Garrido after his release from a 10-year prison term for a 1976 rape, overlooking a series of parole violations that should have led to his earlier capture.

Jackie Rice' "Sisid" 'Scores High Pilot Rating

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Fast-rising Kapuso actress Jackie Rice's first major afternoon series, Sisid, makes a big splash on the ratings game after registering high numbers based on household data from the more widely recognized ratings service Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

The pilot episode of Sisid scored a winning 17.9 percent household rating in viewer-rich Mega Manila, which comprises 58 percent of total television households nationwide. This remarkable lead continued on Tuesday (May 31) with a household audience share of 15 percent, outranking its counterpart program on the rival channel which posted 7 percent share points.

Under the helm of Director Ricky Davao, Sisid tells the story of Eden (Jackie), a woman pearl diver in search for the magical treasure known as "perlante" that she believes would bring her eternal love and heaps of fortune. Joining Jackie in this sweeping drama series are three of the hottest leading men in GMA: Dominic Roco as Sigfried, JC Tiuseco as Ahmed, and Ian Batherson as Dexter.

This week, the drama intensifies as Jackie's character gets caught in a tangled web of forbidden love and forced marriage. Despite the obvious difference in their social status, Eden and Sig (Dominic) continue professing their love for each other unmindful of their parents' strong condemnation.

But Eden's whirlwind romance with Sig turns complicated when she learns that Alona (Alicia Meyer), Sig's scheming mother, starts acquiring all the lands in their island.

How will this turn of events affect the special relationship of Eden and Sig? Will Eden choose to let go of her love for Sig?

Expect more revelations and twists as the drama continues in Sisid weekdays after Nita Negrita on GMA's Dramarama sa Hapon block.

Sam Concepcion is "Peter Pan"

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

This September 29 to October 30 at the Meralco Theater, teen star Sam Concepcion will once again showcase his artistry as a performer as he takes on the title role of STAGES and Repertory Philippines’ Peter Pan.

Among his contemporaries, teen star Sam Concepcion may be the only one who can be considered a “triple threat,” someone who can sing, act, and dance exceptionally. This made him early favorite and eventual winner in the ABS-CBN talent search Little Big Star, the show that launched his career.

Aside from singing, dancing, and acting onstage, which I have been doing eversince I was young, I am excited that I get to fly in this musical,” says Sam. “It will be a fun, full of flying show and I assure everyone that this production will be the ultimate family show.

Sam adds that this musical also boasts of beautifully-written tunes for the stage.

Peter Pan marks Sam’s theater comeback after starring in highly-successful shows like NOAH, High School Musical, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

This is the Asian premiere of this version of Peter Pan, the spectacular musical by Stiles and Drewe and the late Willis Hall. It relives Sir James Barrie’s timeless tale of the boy who never grew up.

People tell me I am like Peter Pan because even if I am already 18, people perceive me still as that young boy who starred in that sinigang mix commercial,” adds Sam. “I am thankful that I have been given this big opportunity to star in a grand production like Peter Pan.

Aside from Sam, Peter Pan also stars Michael Williams as Hook, and ABS-CBN’s rising star Tippy Delos Santos (Idol, Shoutout) as Wendy with Cara Barredo as alternate.

I am excited to work with everyone,” shares Sam. “It has been a while, since I performed for a musical. I have been raring to do this.”

Peter Pan also marks a milestone because it is the first time that STAGES and Repertory Philippines are co-producing a show.

To be directed by Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Jaime Del Mundo, Peter Pan promises to be one of the biggest musical productions in recent years.

Camille Grammer and Kelsey Grammer Fight for Their Kids Custody

Barely a month after Kelsey Grammer, 56, filed for primary custody of their two kids, Mason, 9, and Jude, 6, Camille Grammer fired back at her ex-husband and filed her own petition with the same request.

In the papers filed by the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star lawyers Neal Hersh and Judy Bogen grouse, it states that Kelsey's filings of their kids custody request were "done in order to create a false impression to the media and to wrongfully disparage" her" and that her ex-husband acted "in bad faith."

Camille added that she and Kelsey cannot agree to a summer custody agreement. She also feels that both of them should get one month each with their kids

Blake Lively is “Green Lantern’s” Fierce Love-Interest, Carol Ferris

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Coming off a widely acclaimed performance in last year’s drama “The Town,” Blake Lively now stars as Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern’s lifelong friend and sometime lover, in Warner Bros.’ new action-adventure “Green Lantern.”

We’ve got explosions and fights and trips to outer space and back, but I love that the movie also has a great sense of fun and a hint of romance about it,” shares Lively. “And the Green Lantern Corps should appeal to women, too - representing virtually every species of alien imaginable, it’s definitely not a men’s-only club.”

A go-getter pilot-turned-businesswoman, Carol has always been by-the-book, enabling her to move up in the ranks at her father’s company, Ferris Aircraft, making her now…Hal’s boss.

Hal and Carol have a bond that goes back to when they were kids,” Ryan Reynolds relates. “There’s a great deal of history there, both good and bad. There are moments when they’re like magnets flipped the wrong way, pushing off one another, but you can always tell there’s something pulling them together, too.”

Carol and Hal have an interesting dynamic, and Ryan and I had that same sort of playful banter,” says Lively.

Blake and Ryan had great chemistry right off the bat,” producer Donald De Line confirms. “They really hit it off and I think that translated nicely onto the screen, whether the characters are in the heat of passion or the heat of battle.”

Lively adds, “Regardless of what they might have felt, or feel, for each other, Hal and Carol have always butted heads. She’s no damsel in distress. Like Hal, she’s a test pilot, and now that she’s about to inherit her father’s company, she’s in a position to really question him. And even after this unbelievable thing happens to him, she challenges him as much as he challenges her. If he can’t believe in himself, she’ll believe in him enough for the both of them. She’s not about to let him walk away from this amazing opportunity.”

Carol is the alpha female in the film, and she really helps to enrich the story’s emotional spine,” director Martin Campbell asserts. “She’s strong and capable and responsible - everything Hal is not when we first meet him. And Blake truly combined all those qualities in a completely natural way. She was just great.”

Reynolds was not the only one who had to undergo training for the film’s exciting action sequences. Lively also had to prepare to be suspended in mid-air on a Matrix rig for a scene in which Carol is in the grip of a villain’s telekinetic powers.

We put Blake in this rig and spun her around; she was a really good sport,” stunt coordinator Gary Powell comments. “There’s a lot of trust involved when you’re asking an actor to do some of these stunts - whether it’s hanging from a wire or shooting up into the sky - but everyone was really eager to do whatever they had to do to get it right.”

Opening across the Philippines on June 16 in 3D, 2D and regular format, “Green Lantern” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

GMA-7 Afternoon Shows Perform Strongly in May 2011, Based on Nielsen Data

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

For the first five months of 2011, GMA Network secured the top spot on the national ratings chart, according to data from the industry's widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on household data recorded in National Urban Philippines for the period January to May 31 (May 22 to 31 based on overnight readings), GMA garnered a 33.1 percent average, ahead of ABS-CBN's 31.9 and TV5's 15.2.

For May, GMA finished with 31 household share points - a competitive record driven by the Network's strong performance in the afternoon block (12nn to 6pm) with 37.8 percent of the country's viewing population attuned to GMA programs; as against ABS-CBN's 26.6 percent.

GMA likewise aired the highest rated television special billed World Welterweight Championship The Pacquiao-Mosley boxing special, which landed on the top spot of overall top 30 programs nationwide. The bout, which aired May 8, recorded 61.9 household share points, skyrocketing to 77.2 share points during the actual fight.

The television trend also covered another key area, Total Urban Luzon, which makes up 77 percent of total television households nationwide. For the period January to May 31, GMA cornered 36.6 percent of the viewing household population in the said area, against ABS-CBN's 27 points and TV5's 16.9.

For May, GMA garnered 34.6 share points, bigger than ABS-CBN's share of 28.2 points and TV5's 17 points.

Including specials, there were 17 GMA programs in the list of overall top 30 programs in Urban Luzon this May. The Pacquiao-Mosley bout affixed its rank on the number one spot with 62.3 household share points.

In Mega Manila, an area particularly important to the market as it comprises the bulk of the country's total television household population at 58 percent, GMA convincingly stood out among competitors with 37.6 household share points from January to May, higher by double digits than ABS-CBN's 25.4 and TV5's 17.7 share points.

For May, GMA scored 35.6 share points, way ahead of ABS-CBN's 26.7 and TV5's 17.9 points.

In the list of overall top 30 programs with specials in Mega Manila, 19 were from GMA. The Pacquiao-Mosley bout was at number one with 62.8 household share points, followed by the newly launched epicserye Amaya, starring GMA primetime queen Marian Rivera, which garnered 35.8 household share points.

Other GMA programs which launched in May, namely, Blusang Itim (starring Kylie Padilla), Andres de Saya (starring Cesar Montano and Iza Calzado), and Sisid (starring Jackie Rice), were all ratings winners relative to counterpart programs from ABS-CBN.

Blusang Itim premiered with 41.3 share points, almost double Summer Power's 22.6; Andres de Saya scored 32.8 household share points, higher than Wansapantaym's 22.4; while Sisid garnered 35.8 points, much higher than Frijolito's 18.9 share points.

The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies including two other local networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.

In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 880 homes as compared to Kantar Media's 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.
