Kris Aquino - Anne Curtis Teleserye In The Works

Posted by JED on Saturday, March 19, 2011 , under | comments (0)

TV host-actress Kris Aquino is gearing up for another project with ABS-CBN.

During Baby James' pre-birthday celebration at Bahay ni Maria orphanage, the "Queen of All Media" announced that she is set to top-bill a prime time teleserye with sultry host-actress Anne Curtis.

Aquino, however, refused to give further details about the project, and said, "Pinagalitan kasi ako ni Deo [Endrinal]. Ang daldal ko daw. Kasi dapat daw 'di ko na sinabi na may teleserye with Anne pero nasabi ko na so nandiyan na 'yan."

"[It's] directed by Chito Rono but that's all I'm allowed to say. Beyond that daw, talagang kakalbuhin na niya 'ko. So shut up na 'ko," Kris added.

When asked why she would like to work with Anne, the President's sister quickly replied: "Kasi the roles are perfect for both of us. I'm not allowed to say lang talaga kasi sabi ni Deo, 'Matagal pa 'yan. Baka agawin yung idea.' Pero kasi may advocacy involved dun sa project that is very close to my heart."

Meantime, the "Pilipinas Got Talent" (PGT) judge divulged that "PGT Season 2" will air live starting April 30.

Aside from hosting the talent show, Aquino is also hosting the Philippine version of the US hit game show "The Price Is Right", which airs from Monday to Friday before "TV Patrol".

Thia Megia Will Join Motown Night on American Idol Season 10

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

After this week's performance night in American Idol, Fil-Am Thia Megia didn't seem to have a lock on making it to the Top 11 but the 16-year-old had more than enough votes to remain in the running in the biggest talent show on the planet.

Karen Rodriguez, the 21-year-old from New York, New York who sang 'Hero,' got the lowest number of votes and was eliminated from the competition.

For this week's performance night, the Top 12: Thia Megia, Pia Toscano, Casey Abrams, Naima Adedapo, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Haley Reinhart and Karen Rodriguez were asked to choose a song from the year they were born.

Thia, who was born in 1995, sang Vanessa Williams' 'Colors of the Wind.' All three judges were not excited with her performance although they again pointed out that she had a great voice. Viewers seemed to remain strongly behind the soft-spoken Fil-Am from California as the results night would show her to be clearly out of danger of getting eliminated. Rodriguez, Reinhart and Adedapo were this week's bottom three.

Also on results night, the Top 12 sang a Born to Be Wild/Born This Way mash-up. Guests Black Eyed Peas performed 'Just Can't Get Enough' and season 9 winner Lee DeWyze sang 'Beautiful Like You.'

On her official Twitter account, Thia thanked everyone for their support. Next week, the remaining 11 finalists take on classic Motown tunes. Can Megia deliver a knockout performance on Motown night? Who will have the honor of being in this season's Top 10?

The best is yet to come. American Idol performance night airs on Thursday, 6 p.m. (with same day replay at 10 p.m.) and results night airs on Friday, 6 p.m. (with same day replay at 10 p.m.) only on GMA News TV Channel 11.

Vanessa Hudgens Nude Photos Surface...Once Again

Posted by JED on , under | comments (2)

A second round of naked photos featuring Vanessa Hudgens have recently surfaced on various showbiz websites and blogs - and these photos are way more graphic than the other ones.

Sources connected to Vanessa says that the photos were taken from the same batch that were released several years ago featuring the actress - fully nude.

Way back in 2009, Vanessa sued the owners of a website for posting the first round of nude pics. The lawsuit stated that the photos were obtained by "unknown methods" and posted without Hudgens' "knowledge or consent."

Vanessa believes whoever is doing this now "has it out for her" because the release of these photos in dribs and drabs coincides with her movie releases.

Vanessa's new movie "Sucker Punch" is coming out later this month. Source

Daniel Matsunaga versus Aljur Abrenica in Machete's Finale Tonight

Posted by JED on Friday, March 18, 2011 , under | comments (0)

Machete marks his final battle this Friday, March 18, as he comes face to face with Baal (played by guest star Daniel Matsunaga), a wooden statue carved by Bugana and will be brought to life to destroy the ancient warrior.

As Machete/Dakila (Aljur Abrenica) continues to fight with Baal, enduring twice the amount of pain because he and the evil statue are inexplicably connected to one another, he must also make the decision of choosing between his love for Aginaya (Bela Padilla) and Jessa (Kris Bernal).

With the help of Rosella (Bela Padilla), Machete finds a way to defeat the cold-blooded warrior by destroying Baal's ancient image. But with his success comes another challenge as both Aginaya and Rosella simultaneously meet danger in the hands of Marla and Homer.

Using his magical weapon, Machete must use all of his power to overcome the combined forces of his two most ruthless opponents. Will he emerge victorious in the end? And if he does, will he choose to be with Aginaya and return to his past, or will he rather remain in the present with Jessa?

Don't miss the heart-stopping finale of Machete this Friday after The Baker King on GMA Telebabad.

First Look: Steven Spielberg's “War Horse”

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Disney and Dream Works Studios have just released the first-look photos of Steven Spielberg’s new directorial effort “War Horse” – an epic adventure for audiences of all ages, and an unforgettable odyssey of friendship, discovery and courage.

This sweeping tale of a young boy named Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his beloved farm horse Joey, takes place at the outbreak of WWI. Joey is sold to the British cavalry by Albert’s father and dispatched to the front lines, Joey begins an extraordinary journey against the backdrop of the Great War. Despite the obstacles he faces at every step of his journey, he touches and changes each life he encounters along the way. Albert, unable to forget his friend, leaves home for the battlefields of France to find his horse and bring him home.

First published as a novel in 1982, “War Horse” quickly became a family classic of love and loyalty, beloved by children and adults alike around the world.

“War Horse” opens in Philippine theaters in January 2012. Produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, “War Horse” stars Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Peter Mullan, Niels Arestrup, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irvine, Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Kebbell. Lee Hall and Richard Curtis penned the screenplay based on the book by Michael Morpurgo and the recent stage play by Nick Stafford, produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain and directed by Tom Morris and Marianne Elliot.

Greatest Love Story Now Told With Garden Gnomes in “Gnomeo & Juliet”

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

The original “Romeo and Juliet” was penned by William Shakespeare in the late 1500s. The tragic tale of two teenage lovers endures today with countless interpretations - from Georg Benda’s operatic adaptation in the 1700s to the popular 1950s stage musical “West Side Story” to 1996’s MTV-inspired “Romeo + Juliet.” In 2010, Twitter premiered “Such Tweet Sorrow” - an improvised tweeted version of the play presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Mudlark Production Company.

And now we have garden gnomes, in Touchstone Pictures' animated comedy “Gnomeo & Juliet.”

The filmmakers were instantly drawn to the irony of the film’s premise. Says producer David Furnish, “The concept of the film gave us the opportunity to take a classically well-known story and turn it on its head - reinvent it for a modern audience in a very funny way. The sheer fact that we have the high art of Shakespeare, the most revered playwright of all time, and the kitschy garden gnome gives us so many fantastic opportunities for comedy.”

The challenge, says producer Steve Hamilton Shaw, was making the fun premise into an interesting big-screen movie. “It’s important that while this movie makes people laugh, it also presents a world the audience can believe in; they need to feel the characters’ emotions. We needed to give it the heart and soul that would allow people to emotionally engage with the movie, so that the comedy plays that much better.”

Enter Kelly Asbury, a director whose comedic experience and artistic roots made him a natural fit for the project. Asbury’s directorial credits include the Oscar®-nominated “Shrek 2” (2004) and “Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron” (2002). He also worked as an artist on such notable films as “Shrek” (2001), “Toy Story” (1995), Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993) and “Beauty and the Beast.” The producers felt Asbury had a proven ability to showcase a comedic character’s emotional side.

Says Asbury, “If you’re going to make an animated feature for a big audience to enjoy, you have to have a little bit of laughter, you have to have a little bit of tears - but I think the main thing is sincerity.

But is it safe to transform one of Shakespeare’s most beloved tragedies into an animated comedy suitable for the whole family?

James McAvoy, who provides the voice of Gnomeo, considered the question. “It’s strange, isn’t it, because it probably shouldn’t work,” says McAvoy. “But you know what? In most Shakespeare plays these days, the director goes out on a limb to set it in some new environment. We’re probably not that far away from seeing a version in the West End or on Broadway where the actors are garden gnomes anyway. This is just getting there ahead of time. We’re trailblazers here.”

Aptly set in Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-Upon-Avon, “Gnomeo & Juliet” highlights the heated rivalry between neighbors Mr. Capulet and Miss Montague, who’ve taken their zeal for gardening to a whole new level. Their gardens overflow with kitsch plaster garden gnomes who, when the humans are out of sight, have taken up their respective owner’s non-neighborly behavior. The feud has taken on an even more personal nature with the gnomes, where simply being a Red from the Red Garden or a Blue from the Blue Garden comes with a host of prejudices that most don’t understand, yet fail to question.

“Why gnomes?” asks producer Baker Bloodworth. “Why not gnomes? This story is worth telling; it’s relevant. I think the artwork is joyous and vibrant and colorful and it has Elton John tying it all together.”

Fortunately for the garden gnomes, in addition to an extraordinary soundtrack featuring both new songs and classics from the Elton John-Bernie Taupin library, this version offers an all-new third act - replacing Shakespeare’s tragic conclusion. “I think this is definitely the ending that people always wanted from Romeo and Juliet,” says Emily Blunt, who lends her voice to Juliet (and actually kicked off her career on stage as a more traditional Juliet at the 2002 Chichester Festival).

The theme of the movie is that love can overcome hate; that’s universal,” adds Bloodworth. “It plays to everybody. We aim to entertain people and to send them out the door with something to think about.

But what would Shakespeare think?

He was a great storyteller,” says Bloodworth. “I expect he’d have good fun with this.”

Opening soon across the Philippines in Digital 3D and regular format, “Gnomeo & Juliet” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

The Killer of George Wong Will Be Revealed Tonight on Babaeng Hampaslupa

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Posted by JED on Thursday, March 17, 2011 , under | comments (0)

Check out the brand new video from the Black Eyed Peas for their new single “Just Can’t Get Enough”.

The video was directed by Ben Mor and was shot a week before the tragic tsunami in Tokyo, Japan.

It was the easiest video I ever shot because it was us living our lives,” Fergie explained. I love that it’s showing a true perspective of how it can sometimes be lonely on the road away from our loved ones. It also demonstrates the love and connection we have with Japan. Our heart goes out to all of the Japanese people who have been affected by this natural disaster.”

[Chorus: Fergie]
Boy I think about it every night, and day
I'm addicted, want to jump inside your love

Joe Jonas rumored split-up with Ashley Greene weeks ago is true.

The couple started dating last summer after her split with actor Brock Kelly.

It was mutual and amicable,” a source told NYPost, adding they drifted apart because of their work schedules.

Joe, 21, has been in NYC working on his upcoming solo album. Ashley, 24, shot a new campaign for cosmetics brand, mark. She spent yesterday in the Big Apple lunching with her dad (also Joe) and watching the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

On Tuesday night, Ashley partied at NYC hotspot Avenue with friends including Kings of Leon rocker Jared Followill. (This isn’t the first time Ashley and Jared have been spotted hanging out.)
