Move over Chelsea Handler, Rihanna, Kathy Griffin, Kim Kardashian, and the whole of America 'coz your "to-die-for" 16-year-old "King of All Hair" hit Canadian singer Justin Bieber was seen in a serious lip-locking-make-out session with another 16-year-old, Filipino-American singer Jasmine Villegas, the chick who stars in his "Baby" music video and the opening act on his My World 2.0 concert tour in North America.

The photo below was taken, while on traffic, by a Canadian tourist on Thursday, September 9 in Venice, California and was immediately published in some U.S. entertainment websites and Daily Mail website in United Kingdom.

The two had been rumored to be dating but they insisted they were just "really cool friends."

Jasmine is well-known to many Filipino as the young Pinay singer who sang the U.S. National Anthem in Manny Pacquiao's boxing fights with Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, and David Diaz.

Jasmine, who is now considered to be the luckiest teenage girl on the planet, had a brief showbiz career in the Philippines when she went home last 2008 and became a mainstay of the defunct GMA-7 Sunday noontime show SOP.

Charice Debuts as Sunshine Corazon on GLEE Season 2 Audition Episode

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Justify FullShe is finally arrived!

Philippines' very own Charice, finally made her debut appearance as Sunshine Corazon, a Filipino exchange student who will be the "frenemy" (friend-enemy) of the show's lead character Rachel Berry, in the pilot episode of the second season of hit comedy-musical series GLEE, which was aired today, September 22.

Charice is one of the three new cast members introduced on the Audition episode - the others were Chord Overstreet (as Sam Evan) and Dot-Marie Jones (as football coach Shannon Beastie).

Charice first appeared on the show while the members of the McKinley High School's glee club, New Directions, performed their version of Jay-Z and Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind" to attract new recruits.

Then, Rachel approached Sunshine who was wearing a pair of nerdy eyeglasses, a red blouse under a vest and denim short while carrying a Hello Kitty backpack in the ladies room to encourage her to join the glee club. However, when she heard Sunshine sing Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone," Rachel immediately recognized her as competition.

Later on, Rachel was convinced by fellow glee club members Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley) and Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) that they need a new member who can help them beat rival group Vocal Adrenalin. But Rachel gave a fake address to the young foreign exchange student leading her to a crack house where, Sunshine said, "they stole my sheet music and used it as a toilet paper."

When Coach William Schuester (Matthew Morrison) found out about it, he made Rachel realize that they need Sunshine in the group. So, Rachel finally invited Sunshine to a real audition.

At the auditorium, Charice made every New Directions members' jaw drop while singing Beyonce's "Listen" from the Broadway play and movie Dreamgirls.

Unfortunately, the New Directions was too late. Charice was recruited by rival group Vocal Adrenalin.

GLEE Season 2 Audition Episode Recap

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Fresh off a loss at Regionals, it's no surprise that the Glee kids are still getting slushied on the regular. When news hits of a budget cut, Will encourages the kids to promote the club and encourage new members to audition. Easier said Mr. Schu because those sign up sheets are pretty empty. To up their popularity, the group performs a tribute to the best state ever for the school. They get up and perform Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys and as a New Yorker, I was jamming guilt free. This had the potential to be really awful but I actually thought it was really great. Artie’s rapping is divine and Mr. Schu needs to take note. Kurt was looking suspiciously straight for awhile with those dance moves.

Out of the entire school, two people tapped their toes and actually paid attention. The first is the new transfer student; Sunshine Corazon. Yes. That’s actually her name. Played by Charice, she’s a new student with a voice to rival Rachel’s. They have a duel in the bathroom singing Telephone by Lady Gaga and Rachel is not happy to learn how well Sunshine can perform. Suddenly regretting asking her to join Glee club, Rachel sends her to a crack house instead.

Speaking of Asians, Other Asian had two lines this week! We learn that while Rachel and Finn were heating up over the summer, Artie and Tina were fizzling out. As much as I love Artie, he just wasn’t a good boyfriend to Tina who willingly jumped at the chance to enjoy Mike Chang’s abs. FYI Tina, Artie pushes that wheelchair a lot and probably looks lovely under all the sweater vests. Artie wants to win Tina back by joining the football team. Not really sure how that would work but the new coach doesn’t want to be bothered. Beiste as she likes to be called cuts Finn from the team and makes life hell for Sue, who teams up with Will to get her fired.

Finn walks in on another new kid at school singing in the locker room showers. Major episode one flashbacks of Finn. I’m underwhelmed of him at this point. Finn brings Sam to the rest of the guys in the club and they jam to Billionaire by Bruno Mars. More Artie rapping! This is my second favorite performance of the night. I just love the energy. The Cheerios have been majorly revamped as Quinn is appointed head cheerleader once again, Finn tries out since he’s no longer on the football team, and Santana is ousted for getting a boob job and disgusting Sue with her new funbags. Santana and Quinn have a catfight in the hall and I kind of laughed when Santana called Quinn a slut. Pot? Kettle?

The other asians of the club rescue Sunshine from the crackhouse and allow her to audition properly. She does a stellar performance of Listen from Dreamgirls and even I can’t deny her voice. In the end, it doesn’t matter and Glee club remains as it is. Sam chooses not to show up to audition and instead takes the role of quarterback away from Finn and Sunshine defects. Not out of the country but to Vocal Adrenaline, who have a new coach played by Cheyenne Jackson. I totally forgot he was slated to guest star.

I thought this was a great premiere. I loved how the beginning of the episode was a nod to all the haters. I admit Charice has an amazing voice but as an actress I can’t say much. I actually found the whole Telephone scene in the bathroom kind of embarrassing. Also, I need Artina back in my life. And if it hasn’t been written already, I hereby make a public plea to Ryan Murphy to have Artie try and win Tina back by singing Billy Joel’s For The Longest Time. Make it happen!

Kapuso Teen Stars Steal the Spotlight in 'Reel Love Presents Tween Hearts'

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Solidly banking on their nationwide fan base and star appeal, GMA Network prides itself for discovering an extraordinary group of young stars popularly known as Tweens.

As each Tween discovers something new on their personal lives like their family crises, their real identities, new flames and the realization that there is more to what they think they are and what others see them to be, it is only fitting to feature them in their own drama series where they can truly shine.

Beginning September 26, the Tween Royalties of GMA headlined by Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio, Bea Binene and Jake Vargas together with Joyce Ching, Kristoffer Martin, Lexi Fernandez, Louise de los Reyes and Derek Monasterio are all set to grab the limelight in the network’s newest youth-oriented drama series every Sunday afternoon, Reel Love presents Tween Hearts.

Basking in the success of their flourishing careers, these Tweens are ready to regale televiewers and their legions of fans and supporters in the eight-part episode of Tween Hearts which features an endearing storyline and characterization, intriguing plots, and universal theme for all ages.

After many years of separation, Bambi (Barbie) is finally reunited with her mom Irene (Sylvia Sanchez) and younger sister Belinda (Bea). She lived a simple life with her father Ted (Emilio Garcia) in the province while Belinda experienced a luxurious lifestyle with Irene in the city.

The differences between Bambi and Belinda ignited further tensions which are also triggered by the special attention given by Irene to Bambi to catch up and make up for the lost time they were not together.

Belinda finds comfort in the arms of Jacob, known as one of the school’s outcasts. Jacob offers reassuring words to Belinda which later on develops into a special friendship between the two.

Aside from Bambi’s newfound home, she also transfers to Belinda’s campus where she meets a new batch of friends including Luisa (Louise), Aya (Joyce) and Jacob (Jake). Adding spice to her school life are Leslie (Lexi), Rick (Derek) and Josh (Joshua).

Josh is widely known as the over-achiever in the campus. He spends more time alone and often rejects the rules imposed by his sister Rose (Roxanne Barcelo). Nothing can get in his way except Bambi who softens his heart and strong persona.

Meanwhile, Rick, Belinda and Leslie organize an underground victory party in celebration of the championship won by the varsity team. Even the school’s “outcasts” headed by Bambi, Jacob, Aya and Luisa arrive at the festivity.

In the middle of the party, a commotion erupts which is masterminded by Josh. Everyone is reprimanded and the school authorities order them to attend a recollection as punishment.

The students think it is the usual recollection but they get the shock of their lives when they discover that the affair will be in the form of various activities that will test their strengths, weaknesses, emotions and their way of thinking.

What will happen to these bitter sisters? Will an earnest apology be enough to heal the wounds that rip them apart? Will Bambi become the perfect tool to warm the heart of the bully Josh? Will the music geek Jacob be able to tame the spoiled brat Belinda? Who will win Chris’ heart between Leslie and Aya? Who will end up victorious in the never-ending battle of Luisa and Rick?

In preparation for their roles, the entire cast underwent extensive workshops and trainings facilitated by the episode’s director Gina Alajar. Rounding up the cast are Sylvia Sanchez as Irene, Emilio Garcia as Ted and Roxanne Barcelo as Rose with a team of seasoned scriptwriters headed by Kit Villanueva-Langit together with Roy Iglesias as Senior Creative Consultant and Denoy Navarro-Punio as Creative Consultant.

Don’t miss Part 1 of Reel Love presents Tween Hearts this Sunday, September 26 on GMA.

De Silva vs. De Silva, Fortalejo vs. Fortalejo on "Martha Cecilia's Kristine"

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Things get even more complicated and exciting on "Martha Cecilia's Kristine" as members of warring clans De Silva and Fortalejo go against their own family this week.

Rafael Rosell’s character Marco will be on the bad side of his mother Julia when he volunteers to represent his girlfriend Emerald (Denise Laurel) in court, after the latter was blamed for an explosion inside the property of a family friend of the De Silvas.

Emerald, a Fortalejo, was actually set-up by Julia and Marco’s uncle Alfon.

Her sister Jewel, played by Cristine Reyes, meanwhile, will encounter a new adversary in the person of their very own grandfather, Don Leon. The Fortalejo patriarch will take in Jewel as a servant in his mansion in exchange of his efforts to get Emerald out of jail.

Like a knight-in-shining-armor, Zanjoe Marudo’s character Jaime will work as a driver of the Fortalejos to keep an eye on Jewel.

The epic TV adaptation of the country’s number one pocketbook series has been enjoying stellar ratings since its debut last August 16. Much of the credit has been given to the chemistry between its four lead stars, who now comprise two of the hottest love teams on television.

Reyes, meanwhile, refuted claims of a rivalry between her team-up with Marudo and the Rafnise (Rafael-Denise).

“Bago pa man magsimula ‘yung Kristine na show eh nakapag-usap na kami na hindi kami magpapa-apekto sa mga ganyang bagay. Natutuwa pa nga kami na maliban sa fans ng show, at fans ng book na Kristine eh may sari-sarili din supporters ang love teams,” said the Jewel of Romance.

The supporting cast have also been lauded for their superb performances. This week, catch the intense confrontation between Julia and Anna, portrayed by veteran actresses Carla Martinez and Angel Jacob, respectively. Anna, Jewel and Emerald’s mother, is blamed for the long and bloody rift between the families when she and Roman Fortalejo eloped.

Catch them on "Martha Cecilia's Kristine," from Monday to Friday, after “Magkaribal” on ABS-CBN.

"Duling ka Toni Gonzaga. Buwakaw ka Kristeta!" - Mariel Rodriguez

Posted by JED on , under | comments (13)

Mariel Rodriguez is so much inlove. Toni Gonzaga is happy that Mariel's inlove. Kris Aquino understands that Mariel's inlove. But why their friendship's falling apart?

Here's the reason, according to Pinoy Parazzi :

"Walang kasal na naganap!" confirms Robin in his press conference for Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation (LKF) last September 18 at Maple Street, West Avenue, Quezon City.
