Fresh from the phenomenal success of one of today's hottest daytime show on Philippine TV, Face to Face, TV5 is set to bring some of the show's real-life stories to every Filipino household weekly via Untold Stories. The newest docudrama is told by the well-loved Tiyang Amy ng Bayan, Ms Amy Perez, starting this Thursday, September 9) 8-9pm on TV5's bigger and bolder Primetimes5.

Untold Stories handpicks the most explosive and sensational episodes of the landmark reality-talk show to retell each story from root to tip. It also gathers some of the country’s top actors to give life to genuine characters and stories in their most compelling performances yet.

Judging from her superb handling of the "talak-serye" Face to Face, Ms Amy Perez unquestionably has the most difficult hosting task in the industry. And soon enough, TV5 entrusts her the job of telling the back story of every case she used to referee.

"I'm equally happy and honored with the trust they [TV5 management] are giving me,” said Ms Amy. “The show is like giving back to where I owe my success most: to the public,” she continued. “I’m inviting everyone to watch our show. These stories are issues raised by real people. It could be your story, my story or everyone’s story. You’ll learn a thing or two for sure," Tiyang Amy explained.

For its premiere titled "Paano Hahatiin ang Gabi?," Untold Stories recounts the tale of one of the landmark reality-talk show's most top-rated and controversial episodes, "Kabit na Dikit nang Dikit." Ms. Dina Bonnevie is Aling Nelly, a reserved wife to her womanizer husband (Mang Denio played by Jay Manalo) who openly kept his mistress (Aling Lisa portrayed by Glydel Mercado) to one of their apartment units. For quite a time, both Aling Nelly and Lisa took turns with the same man, until the legitimate wife gets tired with their setup. She assumed her place and threw the mistress out of their apartment. But while Aling Nelly managed to get Aling Lisa out of her sight, would it be an assurance that they no longer share the same man? The woman's grief goes on as she discovers that his son Caloy (Carlo Aquino) gets trapped for the similar woman.

Seasoned TV director Argel Joseph directs the drama anthology, while TV and film writer Elmer Gatchalian is the head writer. Untold Stories’ theme song "Tadhana" is performed by Wency Cornejo.

Join Ms Amy Perez as she chronicles every angle of the story in Untold Stories mula sa Face to Face every Thursday night, 8-9pm on TV5.

On Rumors Linking Her Husband Martin to Claudine, Cristina Castro Says, "Claudine may have made it up."

Posted by JED on Friday, September 3, 2010 , under | comments (0)

While Claudine Barretto openly talks about how Angelica Panganiban betrayed her, their friendship and her family (that includes her sister Gretchen Barretto), Angelica continuously keeps her silence.

But right after Johnny Manahan shown support for Angelica on this fight and Gretchen cleared Angelica's name in the issue, another person directly involved in these story has spoken - Mrs. Maria Cristina Romero-Salas Castro, who tells everything unravelled during the July 24 dinner where, according to Claudine, Angelica acted inappropriately (read related article HERE).

"I want to correct a few things about the dinner," Mrs. Cris Castro begins.

"Claudine and Raymart were not our special guests. The dinner was for everybody, for our friends. It was not for anyone in particular, just all our friends. Claudine and Raymart were also there.

"The first thing I need to explain is that I'm not so close to Claudine. I can't judge her. It's my husband who's close to Claudine and Raymart. I'm not.

"I don't get crazy like an alalay because somebody is an artista. I'm just me. Of course, we're very close to Derek [Ramsay], but we don't treat him like an artista in our home.

"Martin and I have been close to Derek 12, 13, years. Derek is a very good friend, even to my kids. He's their father, their best friend. He's a very honest man.

Cris admits that, even with Angelica, she still has to get close. Certainly, being Derek's girlfriend of three years, they've met her. They've even gone on trips to Subic together.

"I'm not close to Derek's girlfriend, Angelica, either. But we've spent more time with her than with Claudine. We've gone out maybe a dozen times. We've had long weekends together—Derek, Angelica, Martin and me. But she's very shy, doesn't speak much, doesn't speak at all," she says with a laugh in her voice.

"So I'm not close to Claudine, and I'm not close to Angelica," she clarifies.

So what was really happened during the July 24 dinner? How was Angelica?

"Angelica came to the party with Derek. They came late and they left early. She was uncomfortable, I think, because there were people she didn't know, so she wasn't talking much. But she was fine, just quiet. Not dabog at all, like it said in the article. No, nothing like that. She had a smile on her face!"

Cris gives her impression of Angelica. "Angelica—she's very shy, very quiet, very honest. I mean, the way she says things—she's straight. But she hardly speaks. And that night, she wasn't talking to anybody. She was beside Derek the whole time. She couldn't have said things like 'Gretchen gave Derek gifts that were so big' to the other guests. We would've heard!

"We were all together in one dining room. Me, Derek, Angelica, my sister, Martin's mom, Claudine... We would've heard! The others were in the garden, Raymart, Martin... I didn't hear Angelica say anything about Gretchen giving gifts to Derek. I don't even remember hearing Gretchen's name. In the first place, if you know Angelica, she's very careful. She hardly speaks!"

Recalling the evening, Cris says, "It was Claudine who was talking a lot. I guess she's very comfortable with us. Claudine is very friendly. She's a good conversationalist. She gets comfortable right way. She's loud. She's the kind who wants people to know she's there. Maybe, she's used to the attention. We give it to her."

Claudine has said there are rumors linking her and Martin, Has Cris heard those rumors?

"I only heard them from Claudine! She's the one telling me. She said she investigated," Cris answers straight.

She says she also said to Claudine, "I said, 'What do you care? You know it's not true. I know it's not true. What do you care?'

"I told her, 'You're not having an affair with my husband—so why should you be putting so much energy into this?' But Claudine can't let it go. I don't know why she won't let it go.
"Claudine told me she did not invent this. I told her, 'I don't care, and you shouldn't care. You have Raymart, you have your kids, your career. Why should you care? You can't find time for any of this!'"

Cris says categorically: "I'm Martin's wife. I should know if there's an affair. It's not true! All this talk, it doesn't matter. I don't care about talk."

If there are indeed rumors, who can be spreading them? Does she believe Angelica has something to do with this, as Claudine claims?

"I don't know if there are rumors. Claudine says there are. Who's spreading them? We will never know, we will never know. Claudine may have made it up, I'll never know, and it doesn't matter. It's not true anyway!"

Has she ever spoken to Angelica about the rumors?

Her quick reply: "No, I don't need to. That's how relaxed I am. But Claudine shouldn't have mentioned our names. We're private people. Before this, no one connected our names to this! I had no idea our names had been mentioned.

"My friends just called and said, 'You're on the Net!' They gave me a link, and so I saw it. We're being talked about. Our kids will see this. Claudine shouldn't have mentioned us. Like I said, we're private people."

Cris and Martin Castro have been married 16 years. They have two children, a 17-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. Asked what Martin does for a living, Cris answers, "Martin owns some restaurants, and builds houses."

Asked what she does, she answers, "Actually, I help Martin. I'm very busy running around. That's why I wasn't in the birthday party of Claudine, where Martin's picture was taken. I'm too busy to party."

Cris also recalls Claudine saying that Angelica is out to ruin Derek's friendships. That's supposed to be the reason why Angelica is saying these ugly things about Martin.

Cris dismisses this right away: "Martin and Derek have been through so much, been friends for so long, that something like this cannot get in the way of their being friends. Angelica wouldn't get in the way of this friendship."

Cris added, "Angelica, we've known longer than Claudine. There's been no rift in all this time, she's never affected us in this way. But Claudine, in just a couple of months...

"Martin met Raymart a year or so ago. They're close friends. I just recently became close. But ever since we met Claudine, our lives have done a whole 360!"

Cris admits that some things have changed—particularly for Martin, Cris says. "Martin doesn't know how to place himself. He's embarrassed by this because Raymart is a friend. He's uncomfortable.

"He's already stayed away, doesn't call her, doesn't take her calls. He calls Raymart. He and Raymart have talked about it. 'Pasensiya ka na,' he told Raymart. Raymart said, 'Wala iyon.'"

What about her? She didn't take Claudine's last call. Is she sorry she got close to Claudine?

After a pause, Cris says, her voice brisk, "Yeah, I guess. I don't need that noise in my life."

Angelica Panganiban's Lawyer Issues Demand Letter to Claudine Barretto

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Atty. Joji Alonso, legal counsel of Angelica Panganiban, issued a "final demand letter" to Claudine Barretto today, September 3, 2010, with regards to the latter's "false accusations" and "grave threats" to the former.

Here is a copy of the said demand letter:
Dear Ms. Barretto:

"We are writing on behalf of our client, Ms. Angelica Panganiban.

"Our client referred to us the matter of your making false accusations against her in print, television and internet media, as well as your acts of making grave threats against her life and well-being.

"In particular, we have gathered that you posted on your Twitter Account about a traitor friend, who has allegedly been saying malicious things about you and your family. In a subsequent interview, you identified the person you were referring to in your "tweets", to be Ms. Panganiban. You likewise accused Ms. Panganiban, in your other interviews, of spreading rumors that you are having an illicit affair with a certain Mr. Martin Castro and that Ms. Panganiban is out to ruin Mr. Derek Ramsay and Mr. Castro's friendship. You further accused Ms. Panganiban of spreading rumors that Mr. Castro is a drug-addict.

"Contrary to your baseless accusations, our client has not done any of the things you have accused her of. She has not committed anything wrong, much less, maligned you or any member of your family. On the contrary, it is our client who is being maligned by your unfounded accusations. You have placed our client's reputation and good name in a bad light, in the eyes of the public. Your malicious statements have unduly exposed our client to public hatred and contempt and have caused derogatory feelings against her.

"We have further gathered that on 8 August 2010, you called Ms. Panganiban and threatened her in this manner, "[P]apatayin kita. Wawasakin ko mukha mo. You don't deserve to live. Suntukan tayo ngayon na." You likewise conveyed this threat against the life of Ms. Panganiban to no less than Ms. Mariole Alberto, Head of Star Magic, when you said "Wawasakin ko ang mukha niya pag nagkita kami Tita."

"Your threat against the life of our client, which was not made in jest, is a grave threat punishable under our penal laws.

"Let this, therefore, serve as a FINAL DEMAND on you to immediately cease from making any more false accusations and damaging remarks against our client, and to stop threatening her life and well-being.

"We likewise hereby demand a retraction from you of your libelous and slanderous statements, to correct the negative impression created in the minds of the people who have read or heard your statements against our client. Should you fail to do so within seven (7) days from receipt of this letter, we shall be constrained to take whatever legal action necessary to protect the interests of our client.

"We trust that this merits your preferential attention.

"Very truly yours,

"Atty. Joji Alonso"

Ryan Agoncillo is Lady Dada

Posted by JED on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 , under | comments (0)

What happens if geeky-look Ryan Agoncillo gets dressed in drag on the glitzy bar's catwalk? Ryan can be considered the most gorgeous man in drag when he stars in the weekly series Lady Dada starting this Wednesday, September 8, 8-9 pm on TV5's Primetimes5.

The series taps the wacky side of Ryan, a departure from his mestizo looks and cultured ways.

"Ang ganda-ganda ko rito!" he quips. "I never imagined myself dressed in drag before. This one's for the books seriously," he adds.

Lady Dada tells the story of hard luck Dindo (Ryan Agoncillo) who barely succeeds in every business and job he gets into. His failures eventually ruined his marriage with Rina (Mylene Dizon). After a series of unfortunate events, he proves to be a bad luck magnet as he was restrained to get near his son Miko; this after he became violent in a bar owned by his wife and her ex-suitor Brian (Ryan Eigenmann).

Macario, his closeted high-school best friend, enters the picture in literally gay fashion as Kylie (Keempee de Leon) to the rescue. He convinced Dindo to mask his identity as a pretty woman and audition to be the next drag queen in Rina's bar. In order to get closer to his wife and son, Dindo is left without a choice but to turn from a man to a woman to a drag queen. His female disguise becomes even more awkward when he is courted by Rina's widower brother Henry (Roderick Paulate).

"Nagtatawanan nga kami," shares Ryan, "kaming tatlo nina Keempee at Edgar Allan [de Guzman as Junior, Kylie's lover], bading dito. Pero si Dick, siya naman ang lalaki ngayon."

Now Quezon City councilor Roderick Paulate is a legend in his own right playing classic gay characters such as Petrang Kabayo and Kumander Gringa. "Ngayon, lalaki na 'ko dito. Nanliligaw pa," says Roderick whose last gay role was in the indie film Ded Na Si Lolo.

Ryan goes back to acting via Lady Dada after several months of focusing on his career as host. Before hosting TV5's two year-old flagship show Talentadong Pinoy, he has topbilled several TV series and movies including two blockbuster marriage-themed movies with reel-and-real-life wife Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.

Mylene and Keempee are both thrilled as Lady Dada mark their first appearance in a Kapatid show. Meanwhile, Dick's widower/suitor role is his TV comeback after winning as councilor in Quezon City last elections. He was first seen in a Kapatid show via 5-Star Specials Presents Maricel Soriano last March. Ryan Eigenmann, Edgar Allan Guzman, and Nathaniel Britt (as Dindo's son Miko) complete the cast.

Production designer and indie film director Dante Nico Garcia was thankful to the show's director Bb. Joyce Bernal for letting him help her in transforming Ryan from geeky to gorgeous. "Binigyan niya kasi ako ng pagkakataon na mapaglaruan ko si Ryan," says the director of the critically acclaimed film Ploning and one of the closest friends of Ryan's wife, Judy Ann Santos.

Will Dindo get around the persistent courting of Henry (who is actually his brother-in-law)? Could he pass for the next drag queen in town? How long can he hide his real identity?

Don't miss the outrageous gender mix-up on Lady Dada, which pilots this coming Wednesday, September 8, on TV5's Primetimes5.

LEAKED! MoiMoi Marcampo Wins Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown

Posted by JED on , under | comments (7)

Just in time with its pilot episode last Monday, August 30, a leakage of who won the celebrity showdown of Survivor Philippines is already posted on several Twitter accounts.

Twitts said that Piolo Pascual's Yaya Moi (Moi Marcampo) is the alleged winner of this Richard Gutierrez reality-game show.

Interestingly, the leakage on Twitter came from two celebrity users who are identified from the Kapamilya network.

Raymond Gutierrez, brother of Richard, however dismissed the rumor and said that "Getting a lot of tweets predicting the winner of Survivor. They’ll do a live voting at the end. So no winner yet."

Zanjoe Marudo - Cristine Reyes Boob Scandal; Zanjoe Says Sorry

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Cristine Reyes got offended and reacted furiously at her "Kristine" series co-star Zanjoe Marudo regarding the latter's malicous exchange of twitt messages with his friend Direk Willy Cuevas about the scene in "Kristine" where Zanjoe touched the actress' left breast.

Cristine said the scene actually required that part but she felt violated after reading those twits.

Here's how the twitt goes:

Direk Willy: Z , kwento mo naman sa amin ung lasa nung pagkakahawak mo ng boobs ni Cristine, please… wag mo na kami pahirapan mag-imagine! …naka-ilang take 'yung hawak mo boobs ni Cristine? hahaha! sana nakarami ka ng take! Zanjoe: Konti lang direk! Hahahahah.

When she learned about it, Cristine replied via her twitter account, with:

"WOW LANG SA TWEET AH! UHM HELLO NASA TWITTER AKO. Try nyo magtxt na lang. Try lang."

"I don’t wanna ruin my night. Ganun talaga pag ungentleman. Tsk tsk tsk."

"All I want is a gentleman. I'm sick to bloody death of bastards."

After those twitts, Cristine got an apology from Zanjoe but didn’t belive it at first.

"Can’t believe hindi pa rin niya dinedelete ang tweets na yun. di ko makita yung sincerity sa sorry nya kung di nya intensyon maka-offend," Cristine said.

However, Zanjoe explained that he's just new to the social networking thing and that he didn't know his twitts can be seen public. To show his sincerity to Cristine, he deleted his account and offered Cristine a box of cupcakes.

Ending? All is well now between the two. Salamat sa cupcake. Hola, Cristine even offered help to revive Zanjoe's twitter account.
