In KC's Twitter page, he posted a link to his brother's poem for Angel.

"Heavenly poem for my angel, Angel Locsin by Colby Miller is posted here. Feel the love. http://bit.ly/9jtpJY," KC said.

Angel posted back on her Twitter page her appreciation to Colby through KC for composing a poem for her.

"@KCMontero funny :) hehe :) pls tell colby thanks☺," Angel said.

Below is the poem of Colby for Angel.

Heavenly Poem for my angel, Angel

Hi Angel it's me Colby.
In day 2 of my quest
until your heart is mine
I shall not rest.

I will pic you up from ABS
on my trustee pegasus
we will fly to the clouds
and it will just be us

We don't need Darna
we will have the power of love
after a long day's work
I'll fill your bathtub

If you're ever hungry
I'll bake you a ham
or I'll drive you to Megamall
for little spam jam

I'm the karate kid
you are my miagi
I wanna put my elbows
all over your beautiful body

When I see your billboards
I hear doves cry
it makes me so sad
to see you with another guy

This is the KC film
no longer with Jimmy Muna
all of a sudden
I really love canned tuna

Teddy bears and unicorns
after seeing
this month's FHM
I'm quitting internet porn

I miss you although
we've never met
I love you,
with love Colby

"Simply KC" Makes KC Concepcion Extra-excited These Days

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Mega-daughter KC Concepcion shared her excitement over her first daily morning talk show entitled "Simply KC."

"
Sobrang excited at ni-nenerbiyos din. It's a very new show na may new media. Pero I think naman they will see kung ano ang show talaga. It's going to be very new for mornings," KC said during a press conference of her newest show.

KC said what makes her show really different from other morning shows is that she will be part of the guests' lives by doing things they did or are doing.

"
Ito kasi hindi siya report. Hindi siya basta pinag-aralan namin tapos ire-report namin or ige-guest kita at iinterbiyuhin kita. Yong experience niya ay 'halika samahan mo kami. Tignan natin kung kaya mo.' Sila sa akin. So ako naman okay, sabay naman ako. Ito yong sabay sabay kaming natututo at sabay naming nararanasan yung nararanasan ng guest namin."

KC also mentioned that her new show will reveal her simple life as a normal individual while experiencing part of the personal lives of her guest celebrities.

For its pilot week, "Simply KC" will feature Ryan Christian Recto and the threeABS-CBN's hottest leading men -- Luis Manzano, Jericho Rosales and John Lloyd Cruz.

JLC will take KC on a bumpy adventure and will go on trail biking which he does as preparation for his upcoming series "Impostor" with Angel Locsin.

Echo will bring KC back to his childhood and they will tour the marketplace while giving "diskarte" tips learned during his teenage years while working as kargador (stevedore) in Concepcion Market, Marikina.

Meanwhile, brothers Luis and Ryan Christian will challenge KC to try their favorite bonding activity --Muay Thai kickboxing.

To complete the week, Mariel Rodriguez will share with KC her life as lolo and lola's girl while Pokwang will reveal things she did for love.

Aside from featuring the private lives of her guests, KC will also have fun exploring things and experiencing the simple life like riding the LRT and cutting the hair of some grandmothers at the elderly home Golden Acres.

The country's first interactive morning show will premiere this coming Monday, May 24 at 9:45 a.m. before "Showtime."

Willie Revillame Officially Resigns from Wowowee; ABS-CBN Issues Their Statement

Posted by JED on , under | comments (3)

After the much-talked brouhaha about Willie Revillame's threat to resign from his noontime show Wowowee should the ABS-CBN management decide not to fire showbiz columnist and radio announcer Jobert Sucaldito (read related post here) and being absent in the show for two weeks now (he is temporarily replaced by action superstar Robin Padilla), Willie decided to file his resignation not just from the noontime show but as an exclusive talent of ABS-CBN.

In his letter sent to the ABS-CBN bosses, Willie said his piece about the previous and recent happenings on the show which have flawed the reputation of the show and put him on a bad light even those are not his fault. He was very thankful to those who supported him in his more than 5 years of existence on the show but he also requested a release as a talent of the network. Read his letter below:

12 May 2010

MR. EUGENIO LOPEZ, III
Chairman of the Board

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.
Mo. Ignacia Ave., Quezon City

Through: Ms. Charo Santos-Concio
President

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.

Dear Sir Gabby and Ma'am Charo,

I have labored over the past week on what to do in the face of another setback in my relations with the management of the network. ABS-CBN has been my home for the last five years and five months and it has given me the greatest gift – the opportunity to reach out to people who have so little in life.

In the process, I have come to realize that my gratitude to the network would be more meaningful if I considered the impact of my recent actions which has placed the station in a bad light. This is among the reasons, as I will explain in this letter, that I humbly request the management, to release me as a talent of the network.

It is no secret that the program “Wowowee,” for almost five and a half years, has been the core of my existence. The program gives me a sense of purpose because I make people happy and I give them hope that, despite their difficulties, they can make things happen for themselves. Because of this, my world has revolved around the show. The desire to make it the best noontime show, has consumed my waking hours, as I conceptualize its format and contents from Monday to Saturday. Apart from this, I want the show to give the network excellent ratings to maintain its reputation as the leader in the broadcasting industry.

My devotion to the show is unparalleled that I have even been besieged by health problems due to the long hours I spend daily, thinking of how to bring “Wowowee” closer to the public. In fact, I have developed a heart blockage, which has already once posed a real threat to my life. I have sacrificed so much. Now, I have to accept the reality that I also have to take good care of my health.

Hence, it is very painful to hear every time my show is the target of unwanted and unnecessary tirades. I do not think that these people even have the slightest clue of what I go through to put together a show like “Wowowee”’. The show is not for me, but for those people who dream of a better life. Is it too much to ask that we be respected for what we do? Is it too much to ask that we be defended from such attacks?

My outburst last week during the live presentation of the show is nothing more than a reflection of my frustration over these things, and was not at all meant to disrespect the network and its management. I implore you to understand that several incidents, which were beyond my control which have marred the reputation of the show to some extent, have already taken their toll on me.

There was the "Wilyonaryo" incident wherein we were accused of deceiving contestants about their winnings; the Ultra stampede wherein I was blamed and severely criticized; the misunderstanding about my remarks when the coverage of the funeral of the late Pres. Corazon Aquino was unexpectedly shown in the giling-giling portion of "Wowowee"'s airing, for which I have apologized. In all these incidents, I took responsibility even if I was not at fault.

I do not want to cause any further embarrassment to the network. I know that all these have caused so much strain on our relations and I would like to save the situation by asking that I be released as a talent of the station. This way, I will have the much-needed space and time to contemplate on my direction in life and, at the same time, maintain the relationships I have built within the network, which are all worth preserving.

Before I end this letter, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the important people I have had the good fortune to work with during the years I have been with ABS-CBN.

There will never be enough words to express my gratitude to all of you…

Salamat at mabuhay po kayong lahat!

Respectfully yours,

— Willie B. Revillame

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN through Mr. Bong Osorio, the network's Corporate Communications Head, immediately released their statement regarding the above resignation letter. And it reads:

Even prior to the publication of Willie Revillame's letter to ABS-CBN in the May 21 column of Ricky Lo in The Philippine Star, a meeting has already been scheduled between Willie and ABS-CBN management next week. ABS-CBN chooses not to comment on his letter until after the meeting.

ABS-CBN believes that issues are best resolved when discussed with the parties concerned privately before they are made public.

Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana Reunite in "Sinenovela Presents: Mars Ravelo's Basahang Ginto"

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Which is more lustrous - beauty of form, or goodness of heart?

The captivating tandem of Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana breathes new life to another Filipino classic as they star in GMA Network’s latest Sinenovela offering titled "Basahang Ginto". This afternoon drama serial will air beginning May 24 on the Kapuso network’s Dramarama sa Hapon Block after Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak.

Based on the 1951 graphic novel by the legendary Mars Ravelo which was later made into a movie by Sampaguita Pictures, Basahang Ginto is about the astonishing transformation of a simple housemaid into a sophisticated and high-powered socialite.

In the modern version, Carla will assume the role of Orang originally played by Alicia Vergel, while Geoff will reprise the character of Danny previously portrayed by the late Pancho Magalona. Both Geoff and Carla were last seen in the high-rating telefantansya The Last Prince where they played very special roles before finally reuniting in this afternoon soap.

Orang (Carla Abellana) was raised in an Aeta community by a couple who rescued her from a mining accident. When her father was killed while trying to protect their land, Orang, her pregnant mother Ising (Rita Avila), and sister Gilay (Charming Lagusad) were left with no choice but to evacuate and seek new life in the city.

But life in Manila turned out to be crueler than they expected. One night, while selling rugs on the street, a speeding car accidentally hit Ising, leaving her permanently incapacitated. As such, Orang was left with the responsibility of single-handedly caring and providing for her entire family.

By a stroke of fate, Orang meets Danny (Geoff Eigenmann), a wealthy bachelor who mysteriously offers her a job as a maid in his grandmother’s house. Nurturing a broken heart from her scheming girlfriend Sylvia (Vaness del Moral), Danny plans to use Orang to claim revenge against Sylvia by educating and dressing their housemaid to act and look like a real socialite. Danny also changes her name from Orang to Laura Esquiviel.

But Danny soon realizes that he no longer needs to make Sylvia jealous as he is already falling in love with the beautiful Laura. Upon this discovery, however, Laura also finds out about what really happened during the night of the accident, which presumably involves Danny. Laura ends up running away from the mansion bearing two things in mind: to seek revenge and to unravel the mystery that conceals her true identity.

Completing the cast of Basahang Ginto are Celia Rodriguez as Donya Mariana, Danny’s grandmother; Jackie Lou Blanco as Elaine, Danny’s mother; Samantha Lopez as Lilian, Orang’s biological mother; Tony Mabesa as Cecilio, Orang’s etiquette tutor; Kevin Santos as Carlo, Danny’s cousin; Bearwin Meily as Manoro, Ising’s husband; Jim Pebangco as Gogo, Carlo’s driver; Dion Afi as Bebot, Orang’s Aeta bestfriend; and Byron Ortile as Michael, Orang’s younger brother.

With multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan at the helm, another timeless literary piece gets to touch and inspire today’s television viewers as the Kapuso station proudly presents Mars Ravelo’s Basahang Ginto. The much-awaited pilot episode of this Sinenovela airs this Monday, May 24 after Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak on GMA Network.

GMA Network’s "Eleksyon 2010" is Pinoy's Preferred Election Coverage

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

During the recent historic elections, at a critical time in Philippine history, more viewers clearly preferred "Eleksyon 2010", GMA-7's election coverage.

Eleksyon 2010 posted a 12.3 TV ratings average from May 10 to 11 based on Mega Manila Household ratings from AGB Nielsen, compared to ABS CBN’s 10. The May 10 average of Eleksyon 2010 is also higher at 12.5, compared to ABS’ 11.2. The next day, GMA's election coverage pulled ahead with a commanding 3.5 lead.

GMA's primetime newscast on May 10, 24 OrasEleksyon 2010, posted an imposing rating percentage of 33.7 as against TV Patrol World’s 22, resulting to a staggering 11.7 margin. The lead based on the corresponding audience share is even more imposing – a whopping 16.8 %! – with GMA posting a commanding 51.3 % against the other station’s 34.5 %.

What kept more viewers tuned in to ELEKSYON 2010 is its unbiased and comprehensive coverage from all over the country and the most reliable and up to the minute tally. Eleksyon 2010's partial and unofficial count was consistently ahead of the competitor and was always first in bringing to the public the latest tally of election results from all over the country.

As Filipinos awaited the results of the country’s very first automated elections, they knew they could count on GMA Network’s historic coverage to deliver lightning-quick and comprehensive updates from the GMA News and Public Affairs team and election partners that include the biggest and most respected entities in tri-media, telecommunications, information technology, education, business, research and public service.

GMA's election coverage had more remote points across the country, and aired nonstop updates on the historic elections from 5am of May 10 until 12 noon of May 11.

Eleksyon 2010 also used the latest available technology such as the touchscreen, virtual screen, immersive 3D graphics and the hologram effect – a first in Philippine television. The public was also able to participate in the coverage by sending photos and videos to Youscoop, and calling the Eleksyon 2010 Action Center to report Election Day incidents and seek assistance from election lawyers.

GMA's voter education project "Bilog na Hugis Itlog" was widely recognized to have created the biggest impact. Not a few voters sang the jingle on the way to the precincts to help them remember how to cast their vote.

Reliability, unbiased reporting, comprehensive coverage were needed during the recent historic elections. GMA News and Public Affairs stepped up to the challenge by upholding the highest standards of journalism and remaining faithful to Serbisyong Totoo.

Glee Episode 19 Recap – "Dream On" Episode

Posted by JED on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 , under | comments (0)

Mr. Schue’s high school nemesis Bryan Ryan shows up at the school to cause some trouble. The same kind of trouble that seems to constantly plague this club. It has to get tiring for them to always be threatened with the loss of the club but what can ya do? Also, one has to wonder, with all the financial problems the club seems to have, where are they getting the massive budget for all these amazing costumes when Artie can’t even get a bus ride? Anyway, Bryan wants to prove to the club that they’re all destined to be as bitter as he is. Dreams are worthless and a waste of time. Reality checks are where it’s at. Even if he’s right, it’s still never wrong to dream. Hope is a dangerous think to lose.

Jesse gets back together with Rachel under the guise of missing her but sadly, we all know better. This beautiful man has ulterior motives and this week it’s getting Rachel to open up about wanting to know her mother. He gets her to admit she wants to find out who her mother is and he sets to work. He plants a tape of Rachel’s mother (revealed to be Shelby, the leader of Vocal Adrenaline) in a box of Rachel’s baby stuff and tries to force her to listen to it. When that doesn’t work, a wet and sexy Jesse goes to Shelby to explain he doesn’t want to hurt Rachel. Yay! Is there hope Jesse can return as a good guy? Shelby tells him she never got to hold Rachel and it’s against the contract she signed to get in touch with Rachel on her own. Why does she want to get to know Rachel? We assumed it was to dismantle New Directions but does she just simply want to know her daughter?

In a bar, Will and Bryan bond over their love of music and Bryan starts to embrace it. They do an okay job of singing one of the best classic songs ever; Piano Man by Billy Joel. I love that they sang it in a bar. They then proceed to audition for the same part in Les Miz and sing a duet of Dream On by Aerosmith. I’m having bad Danny Gokey flashbacks. When Will wins the part over Bryan, Bryan proves what a child he is and cuts glee club in some sort of bizarre tantrum. He swiftly changes his mind when a defeated Will offers him the part. What kind of lesson was that?

Artie admits out loud his dream to Tina. He dreams of being a dancer but has no hope that it will ever happen. Tina, the voice of reason in this entire episode, tells Artie that nothing is impossible and there’s always hope. We get a really sad scene of Artie trying to walk and I end up just feeling terrible. Tina shows up the next day to make him feel better with some experimental research she found for his condition. They then go to the mall and we’re treated to the best dream sequence this show has ever done. Artie performs and dances Safety Dance and it’s the best thing ever. Finally an excuse for the show to show us what an amazing dancer Kevin Mchale is. I love everything about this.

Emma comes to be a Debbie Downer and basically crush all of Artie’s dreams and tell him he’s having false hope. What the hell? Who is she to tell him that? She should lose her license. He obviously needs Jack Shephard to fix him. The episode ends with dreams realized with a duet by Shelby and Rachel singing I Dreamed A Dream and Artie singing Dream A Little Dream
while Tina is forced to dance with Mike when Artie opts out.

Robin Padilla Hosts Wowowee

Posted by JED on Sunday, May 16, 2010 , under | comments (2)

Since on temporary leave si Willie Revillame at recently enjoying his vacation in Macau, Robin Padilla will be the show's guest host for the next 2 weeks..

Robin was very thankful sa warm welcome sa kanya ng Wowowee's female hosts na sina Pokwang, Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Carmen Soo, Kelly Misa at RR Enriquez.

Watching at the audience to show support for Robin were Robin's mom Eva Cariño and his nephew.

And to fully welcome Robin, the Willie of Fortune segment had his previous movie sidekicks and leading ladies as celebrity contestants. This includes Donita Rose (P're Hanggang Sa Huli) at Vina Morales (Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum Part 1 & 2 at 'Di Puwedeng Hindi Puwede).

When asked by Pokwang to describe these girls if they were food, Robin said, "Si Vina ay sa kare-kare. Masarap ang kare-kare, pero mas masarap ito kapag may bagoong at ako ang bagoong."

"Si Donita ay steak. Ang halimuyak pa lang pag inihaw, busog ka na!"

"Si Toni naman ay sashimi. Bukod kasi sa chinita si Toni, masarap kainin ang sashimi. At ako naman ang wasabi. Pero wala akong masamang ibig sabihin dun."

How about Pokwang? He said, "Kanin."
