Panday Kids - Cast and Characters

Posted by JED on Saturday, February 20, 2010 , under | comments (0)

Panday Kids is a spin-off of the classic graphic novel "Ang Panday" that will hit primetime television on February 22.

Directed by Tony Tuviera, Panday Kids will star Robert "Buboy" Villar, Julian Trono and Sabrina Man.

The story of Panday Kids revolves around three ordinary kids prophesied to combat evil and preserve the Panday spirit. It begins after the end of reign of the evil Lizardo in the world. Flavio, the original Panday, was not heard of anymore after defeating his chief nemesis. Tasked to safe keep the sword are the "Eskrimadors," an order of swordsmen known for their exceptional sword-fighting skills.

The "Eskrimadors" are headed by a teacher who trains the rest of the swordsmen in combat. The teacher chooses Aureus (JC de Vera) as his successor which caught the ire of Cicero (Polo Ravales), another eskrimador who is a descendant of Lizardo. Cicero cut ties with the eskrimadors, starts a revolt and slays the teacher. He still, however, fails to hold possession of the sword which is now under the watch of Aureus.

In another mystical world, Maria Makiling (Iza Calzado), the Queen of the Engkantos, guards the balls representing good and evil. As Cicero carries out his wicked plan, his friend Andreas (Ryan Eigenmann), who is also Maria Makiling’s brother, steals the ball of life from his sister.

Together, Andreas and Cicero intend to resurrect Lizardo (Marvin Agustin) by using the ball. Left with no choice but to counter impending chaos, Maria Makiling instructs Aureus to find new heroes worthy enough to fight Lizardo.

Aureus prepares a ritual to separate the Panday sword into three shards. The broken shards choose their rightful heirs in the person of three ordinary kids.

First to be chosen is Oliver (Buboy Villar), a mischievous but nice kid. He grew up being constantly rejected by his mother Rosanna (Gelli de Belen). Born out of rape, Oliver bears the brunt of his mother’s bitterness.

Representing the valor of the Panday Kids is Hadji (Julian Trono), a good-looking Muslim boy gifted with skills in martial arts and sword fighting. He is also quiet, unassuming and hardworking. Hadji and his sister Fatima were exposed to the conflict in Mindanao.

Embodying the wisdom of the group is Charlie (Sabrina Man), who is a beautiful but bratty kid who comes from a well-off family. Her source of happiness is the fact that she’s adopted. She wants to find out her real identity but her grandmother Dona Guada Salcedo (Marissa Delgado) prevents her from unlocking the secret of her past.

Together, the three Panday Kids set out to continue carrying the torch once carried by Flavio.

Completing the cast are Jackie Rice, Jose Manalo, Tirso Cruz III, Pen Medina, Nanette Inventor, Bernard Palanca, Isabel Granada, Rich Asuncion, Akihiro Sato, Jolina Magdangal, Ella Cruz, Nikki Samonte, Cruzita Salcedo, Yogo Singh and Migui Jimenez. Award-winning actor Christopher de Leon has a special role as the original guardian of the sword.

Panday Kids will take the timeslot of Darna on Monday, February 22, right after 24 Oras.

Taylor Swift - "Fearless" Music Video and Lyrics

Check out Taylor Swift’s newest music video for his latest single, "Fearless".

The 20-year-old Grammy winner gave viewers a chance to see footage from both backstage and from her actual shows from all over the world!

"When I wrote 'Fearless,' I wasn’t dating anyone," Taylor wrote. "I wasn’t even in the beginning stages of dating anybody. I really was all by myself out on tour and I got this idea for a song about the best first date."

"I think sometimes when you’re writing love songs, you don’t write them about what you’re going through at the moment, you write about what you wish you had. So, this song is about the best first date I haven’t had yet."

Fearless - Music Video and Lyrics:

There's somethin' 'bout the way
The street looks when it's just rained
There's a glow off the pavement
Walk me to the car
And you know I wanna ask you to dance right there
In the middle of the parking lot
Yeah
Oh yeah

We're drivin' down the road
I wonder if you know
I'm tryin' so hard not to get caught up now
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absent mindedly makin' me want you

And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance in a storm in my best dress
Fearless

So baby drive slow
'til we run out of road in this one horse town
I wanna stay right here in this passenger's seat
You put your eyes on me
In this moment now capture it, remember it

Cause I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance in a storm in my best dress
Fearless

Well you stood there with me in the doorway
My hands shake
I'm not usually this way but
You pull me in and I'm a little more brave
It's the first kiss,
It's flawless,
Really something,
It's fearless.

Oh yeah
And I don't know how it gets better than this
You take my hand and drag me head first
Fearless
And I don't know why but with you I'd dance in a storm in my best dress
Fearless

Yeah
I don't know how
Oh yeah yeah.

Andy (John Morris) is heading off to college, and his toys, including Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen), are worried about their uncertain future.

The toys are then picked up by the garbage men.

After some twists and turns, the toys are accidentally donated to Sunnyside Daycare Center. There, they befriend such toys, such as Lots-O'-Huggin' "Lotso" Bear (Ned Beatty), a porcupine doll named Mr. Pricklepants the Porcupine (Timothy Dalton), and a smooth-talking Ken doll (Michael Keaton).

The toys are keen on starting a new life at the daycare. It isn't long before they discover that Andy is actively searching for them, so they decide to escape -- but to make things complicated, the toys soon discover that some of their new friends aren't as friendly as they thought.

To make matters further complicated, Buzz is damaged during an escape attempt. The toys try to reset Buzz, only to make him revert to a delusional Spanish version of his old self, much to the other toys' discomfort and Jessie's amazement.

Now, the toys must get home in time before Andy leaves.

Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) "We Are The World 25 For Haiti", in which Jones and Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti.

Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici.

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.
