ABS-CBN's longest running drama show "Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)" is set to feature Former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., life story and it tapped Pascual to play the coveted role.

Piolo disclosed that the taping will start next week. And as part of his preparation, he is now doing his own research about the man whose death triggered the 1986 bloodless revolution in EDSA.

He also disclosed that he will sit down with television host-actress Kris Aquino, Ninoy's youngest daughter, for some advice.

"Nakaka-pressure din. Ang laki ng expectations. 'Yong mga tao, hindi pa lumalabas, may judgment na hindi mo kamukha or you are not eloquent as he was. And then sasabihin sa’yo na wala kang karapatan. Ako, I'll just come up with something na version ko," Piolo said.

When asked about his other co-stars, meanwhile, Pascual declined to divulge any detail. "Hindi ko pa pwedeng sabihin. Ako pa lang ang confirmed."

Check out Mariah Carey’s music video for her new single titled "H.A.T.E.U."

The video, shot on the beach in Malibu, was directed by video and film director Brett Ratner. Expect a remix of the song out soon - word is that Jermaine Dupri will produce and Big Boi will rap.

"H.A.T.E.U." is the third single off of Mariah’s latest effort, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.

H.A.T.E.U. - Music Video and Lyrics:

Ah.. ahh.. ahh..
ahh.. ahh..
ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh..

la la la.. ahh.. ahh.. ooh..
ahh.. ooh..

once upon a time, we swore not to say goodbye
something got a hold of us and we changed
then you sat alone in pride
and I sat at home and cried
how'd our fairytale just end up this way

we went round for round til' we knocked love out
you were laying in the ring, not making a sound
and if that's a metaphore of you and I
why is it so hard to say goodbye

I can't wait to hate you
make you, pain like i do..
still can't shake you off..
I can't wait to break through
these emotional changes..
seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you,
break you, down so low
there's no place left to go..

I can't wait to hate you..

love is, was a love phenomenon no one could explain
and i wish, i could press reset and feel that feeling again
i sit and press rewind and watch us everynight..
wanna pause it, but i can't make it stay

round for round til' we knocked love out
you were laying in the ring, not making a sound
and if that's a metaphore of you and I
why is it so hard to say g'bye

I can't wait to hate you
make you, pain like i do..
still can't shake you off..
I can't wait to break through
these emotional changes..
seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you,
break you, down so low
there's no place left to go..

I can't wait to hate you..
uh uh uh..

no need to call my phone cause I changed my number today
a matter a fact, I think i'm moving away (away)
sorry, the fustrations got me feeling awake
and i just keep having one last thing to say
and i just wanna hold you, touch you,
feel you, be near you, i miss you baby baby baby..
i'm tired of try'na fake through, but there's nothing I can do..
boy I can't wait to hate you..

I can't wait to hate you
make you, pain like i do..
still can't shake you off..
I can't wait to break through
these, emotional changes..
seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you,
break you, down so low
there's no place left to go..

I can't wait to hate you.. baby..

I can't wait to H.A.T.E.U.
Cuz right now i need you
I Can't wait to let you go.

This December, GMA Network leads the Filipinos in bringing a meaningful Christmas to the victims of the recent typhoons that hit the country with the telecast of a special musical documentary concert featuring the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez – After the Rain: A Hopeful Christmas with Regine.

Set to premiere on December 13 on Sunday Night Box-Office (SNBO), this year’s GMA Christmas special pays homage to the Filipino spirit that has remained resilient despite the seemingly unending odds brought by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, which tremendously shattered lives and properties of many Filipinos.

After The Rain: A Hopeful Christmas with Regine, is a two-hour musical-documentary featuring three heartwarming and inspiring stories of Ondoy victims namely Jessie Aranez, Elly and KY Pablo and orphans from the House of Refuge . The concert was attended by almost 800 victims from the typhoon-devastated cities and provinces such as Rizal, Laguna, Pasig, Marikina and Pangasinan. They were fetched from evacuation centers and transported to GMA Network’s Studio 7 for a special dinner party before the show.

Inspiring words and admiration for their courage and resilience will be shared by GMA Network’s award-winning primetime news anchors Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez together with Kapuso primetime royalties Richard Gutierrez, Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera.

The audience were surely in for a heartwarming treat when the country’s premiere artists led by Regine together with Jaya, Kuh Ledesma, Pops Fernandez, JayR, Kyla and La Diva perform as they unfold heartbreaking stories about losing loved ones, inspiring stories of unsung heroes and stories of love, survival, hope, happy endings and gratitude.

Completing the performers in this Christmas special are Eva Castillo, Frenchesca Farr, Julie Ann San Jose, Mae Flores, Moymoy Palaboy, Jude Matthew Sevilla, Shane Velasco, Yassi, Kris Angelica dela Cruz, Kiddiewockees, University of the Philippines Concert Chorus, Mandaluyong Children’s Choir and IIAF Development Group.

Starstruck 5: Fianca Cruz is the First Eliminated Starstruck Hopeful

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

Following the nerve-wracking elimination night last Sunday, StarStruck V announced the talent search’s first casualty, leaving 13 artista aspirants to continue their run as the next ultimate survivors of the fifth season.

The elimination night was full of suspense as the Final 14 tried to put a dignified face in front of everyone. Fianca Cruz, the beauty queen from Pasig, was voted off after receiving the lowest number of text votes. She agonized at the bottom three with Diva Montelaba and Ian Batherson.

The remaining 13 survivors are Steven Silva, Sef Cadayona, Piero Vergara, Ian Batherson, Enzo Pineda, Rye Burgos, Rocco Nacino, Diva Montelaba, Sarah Lahbati, Princess Snell, Rox Montealegre, Nina Kodaka and Zeryl Lim. Only four can set foot in talent search’s grand finale and their performances in the coming weeks can either make or break their chances of being part of the Final Four.

It will definitely be an exciting and extreme battle as the race is getting nearer to the finish line. Who will be the second casualty? Who will shine in this week’s performances and artista tests? Who will be castigated by the council and the mentors?

The pressure is on, not just for the four contenders but also for their supporters.

To vote for your favorite StarStruck survivor, just text STARSTRUCK (space) NAME OF CONTESTANT and send to 2344 for Globe, TM and Sun subscribers, and 367 for Smart and Talk N’ Text users. Each vote costs PhP2.00 for Sun subscribers and PhP2.50 for other networks. (This service is exclusive for the Philippines only.)

You can also vote online at www. starstruck.tv.

StarStruck V airs Saturdays right after Pinoy Records and Sundays right after Kap’s Amazing Stories while StarStruck Shout Out airs Mondays to Fridays after Chika Minute Explosive on GMA.

Paolo Bediones Transfers to TV5, Becoming the First "Ka-Shake" Exclusive Talent

Posted by JED on , under | comments (0)

GMA-7 homegrown talent, Paolo Bediones, leaves the Kapuso network and transferred to TV5 as the first exclusive "Ka-Shake" talent.

"It was the hardest decision I had to make, career-wise," said the 35-year-old TV personality.

"To be able to decide whether I would stay with GMA-7 or to go to TV5, ang daming sleepless nights. Hindi ako makapaniwala na nandoon ako sa sitwasyon na 'yon na I had the opportunity to decide."

Paolo related that before coming up with a final decision, he had to endure two weeks of negotiations between GMA-7 and TV5.

He said "I had the best of both worlds, you see. TV5, they were offering something new; GMA-7, they were offering a fresh contract again. Nandoon talaga lahat ng mga elements of a situation wherein mahihirapan ka talaga."

Paolo was also thinking about his future plans for his career. He recalled, "After the second season ng Survivor Philippines, nararamadaman ko na na parang, 'Saan ako pupunta? Ano na ang gagawin ko?"

"Next year, puro franchise ang mao-offer sa akin, will I be hoping and praying na sa akin mapunta? Kasi, 'yong career ko hybrid, e. Wala namang ganung career talaga, di ba? It's either actor ka or singer ka or host ka or newscaster ka. Ako 'yong pahalu-halo, 'tapos ang format ko sa News and Public Affairs was Survivor, Extra Challenge, Tok Tok Tok, hindi siya talaga pang-News and Public Affairs."

So, what was the offer of TV5 that he couldn't resist?

Paolo, who signed a three-year contract with TV5, said, "Ultimately, what made me decided was that the offer of TV5 included a position in management. 'Yon ang gusto natin talaga—ang maging instrumento sa pagbabago ng industriya natin, mayroon tayong ide-develop na mga talent, mayroon din tayong mga shows na iko-conceptualize din. 'Yon talaga ang nagpa-decide sa akin."

He added, "After the [Survivor Philippines: Palau] finale, nag-iisip na talaga ako, 'What's gonna happen to me what do I wanna do?' Then, TV5 came with a very fresh offer nga, 'yon nga, a management position and opportunity to do things I've never done in my life."

For 14 years, Paolo had become the face of several successful shows of GMA Network. He started his career as a commercial model but the Kapuso network discovered his hosting talent and placed him on his first television project "Channel S" in 1995. He also became one of the hosts of "Mornings @ GMA". In 1999, he hosted the magazine show "Extra! Extra!" which eventually became the extra hit "Extra Challenge". Extra Challenge started the era of Philippine TV's reality shows. His last projects with GMA-7 was the hit reality show Survivor Philippines Seasons 1 & 2.

Paolo also crossed-over to the field of acting via the films "Walang Kapalit" in 2003 and "Exodus" in 2005, and in the GMA primetime series "Captain Barbell".
