Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

Watch the full movie trailer of RVQ Production and Kaizz Ventures official movie entry in the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) titled "Nobody Nobody But Juan".

This Metro Manila Film Fest entry was originally titled "Juan" but when the Wondergirls song "Nobody" became a big hit, Dolphy himself suggested that they add "Nobody, Nobody" to the title.

SYNOPSIS. Nobody, Nobody But...Juan tells the story of a U.S.-based senior citizen named Juan (Dolphy) who lives in a senior home run by his son (Eric Quizon) and daughter-in-law (played by G Toengi). Juan's favorite pastime is watching Wowowee on The Filipino Channel. However, he does not watch the show just for entertainment's sake. Aside from wanting to connect with the Philippines that he dearly misses, Juan is lonesome for his first love Aida whom he lost touch with during the Japanese occupation of Manila. Wowowee is Juan's way of coping with homesickness and reliving the past.

When watching Wowowee is banned in the senior home, Juan makes drastic measures to watch his favorite TV program. In his quest, he crosses paths with his old friend Tu (Eddie Garcia) who used to be his partner in the vaudeville duo Juan Tu. Pokwang is cast as the partner in crime of Tu.

Juan is then reunited with his long-lost love Aida (portrayed by Gloria Romero). Will they have a happy ending after all these years?

The young Aida is portrayed by Heart Evangelista, the young Juan is portrayed by Epy Quizon and the young Tu is portrayed by Vandolph Quizon.

Eugene Domingo plays a nurse who takes care of Juan in the senior home. Willie Revillame is also part of the movie as the host of Wowowee.

Nobody Nobody But Juan - Full movie trailer:

The movie is directed by Dolphy's son, Eric Quizon, from a screenplay by Bibeth Orteza and produced by Kaizz Ventures in partnership with RVQ Productions.

Nobody, Nobody But... Juan! opens nationwide this Christmas, December 25, 2009.

Know How Kris Embraces A Simpler Lifestyle in "The Kris Aquino Magazine" October - November 2009 Issue

Posted by JED on , under | comments (1)

The latest issue of K Magazine features how Kris Aquino embraces a simpler lifestyle and why Dingdong Dantes is dubbed as the new generation hero.

Ever since her mother died—and following the announcement of her brother Noynoy’s candidacy—Kris Aquino has embraced a simpler lifestyle. She talks all about these two life-changing events and how they have impacted her in the latest issue of K Magazine, now out on the market.

Also in this issue is an account of Kris’s recent family vacation to Hawaii, with captions written by Kris herself. The Hawaii vacation, which she took with husband James and sons Joshua and Baby James, was part of Kris’s promise to her mom that she would spend more time with her family. The ever-efficient Kris planned and organized the trip, and returned with nearly 50 exclusive photos that she is sharing with K Mag readers.

K Mag also offers helpful tips on how to fight stress either of two ways: with herbal remedies or with prayer. Research supports the theory that prayer can benefit not just your soul, but your body too.

Still on the subject of prayer, Annabelle Regalado-Borja of Star Records
talks about the making of the Rosary album that was recorded by the Aquino sisters Ballsy, Pinky, Viel and Kris. The album, which features the sisters reciting the mysteries of the Holy Rosary—an advocacy instilled in them by their mother, who was always known for her being prayerful—is already available on the market.

This issue also gives readers the first look at the new K Everyday line: a collection of items for the home and for daily use. The products were road-tested and approved by Kris and include items for the bedroom and kitchen, as well as everyday items like planners to help you get your life in order. Kris also shows you the latest items from the BENCH Pinoy Lab collection.

For those who share Kris’s passion for cooking, K Mag has some of Tita Cory’s heirloom recipes that you can now cook in your own home for a traditional, homestyle pre-holiday treat.

So get your copy of K Mag now, out wherever magazines are sold, from ABS-CBN Publishing.

Posted by JED on , under | comments (4)

Rejoice all you Juday fans out there! The ABS-CBN nurserye titled "Habang May Buhay" starring Judy Ann Santos will finally have its airing date.

Habang May Buhay is the first-ever medical teleserye on Philippine television set in the dramatic setting of the medical world that mirrors life at its most intense. It revolves around the life of Jane Alcantara (played by Judy Ann Santos), a strong-willed nurse who undergoes family, career, and love challenges in the United States and in the Philippines. Our heroine’s quest for love and truth unfold in the backdrop of our very own Filipino medical cases, resonating to every Filipino who has ever had a loved one in danger.

Our heroine’s kind of love — selfless, sacrificing and unconditional — heals the wounds of her past and breathes new life to the patients she takes to her embrace. If heaven listens to our heartbeats, then her heart drives heaven to grant miracles to her loved ones.

The teleserye also marks the comeback of the "Bida-Kontrabida" tandem of Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes.

Habang May Buhay boasts of a stellar cast which includes Derek Ramsay, Will Devaughn, Gladys Reyes, Rio Locsin, Joem Bascon, Angel Aquino, William Martinez, Gina Alajar, Tetchie Agbayani, John Arcilla, Michael de Mesa, Melanie Marquez, Al Tantay, Candy Pangilinan, Mickey Ferriols, Bangs Garcia, Brent Javier, Marc Abaya, Maxene Eigenmann, Ina Feleo, Ruben Gonzaga, Dominique Roque, Jessy Mendiola, Macy Garcia, Giovannie Pico, and Makisig Morales.

Showbiz Lipatan: Claudine Barretto is Now a Kapuso

Posted by JED on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 , under | comments (3)

After switching from Star Cinema to Viva Films, Claudine Barretto is now a Kapuso!

After 17 years of being an exclusive talent of the Kapamilya network, Claudine just signed an exclusive two-year contract with GMA-7 earlier today.

But the Optimum Actress was quick to clarify that her decision to explore other career opportunities did not mean cutting her ties with ABS-CBN’s talent arm which has been her second family all these years.

She said: "Wala pang Star Magic, nandito na ako sa Star Magic (formerly known as Talent Center). So you know, whatever happens sa buhay namin, hinding-hindi mawawala ‘yong part ako ng Star Magic."

Incidentally, Be Bench winner and Kapamilya talent Carlo Guevara also signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 after being an ABS-CBN talent for 2 years.

It was on May 21, 2009 when Katrina Halili filed a complaint on PRC against Hayden Kho. And barely 6 months after the complaint, PRC has released its decision stating:

"WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Board hereby finds the Respondent, HAYDEN KHO Jr. Guilty of Immorality; Dishonorable and/or Unethical Conduct and accordingly REVOKES his authority to practice the Medical Profession.

"Accordingly, respondent is ordered to surrender to the Board his Certificate of Registration/Professional License and Identification Card as a Physician not later than ten (10) days from the finality of the decision and to desist from the practice of the medical profession, under pain of criminal prosecution."
