Mexican Playboy December 2008 Issue
The reason?
Well according to many, the nude Mexican model Maria Florencia Onori resembles the Virgin Mary standing in front of a stained-glass window with the cover line “We Adore You, Mary” in Spanish.
The issue was published Dec. 1, a day before the traditional Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, patroness of Mexico.
Reuters reports that Chicago-based Playboy Enterprises Inc. says the Mexican edition of the magazine is published by a licensee and the company did not approve or endorse the cover.
“While Playboy Mexico never meant for the cover or images to offend anyone, we recognize that it has created offense, and we as well as Playboy Mexico offer our sincerest apologies,” a company statement said.
Raul Sayrols, publisher of Playboy Mexico, said in a statement: “The image is not and never was intended to portray the Virgin of Guadalupe or any other religious figure. The intent was to reflect a Renaissance-like mood on the cover.”
Well, Playboy already apologized for the image, and likely this issue alone will sell more copy than any other issue has. Don't you think so?

Karylle's Statement To "Controversial Smile" Issue
"Parang I was in a no-win situation. If I didn’t smile, people would say I was bitter. I was actually trying to figure out what to answer and how to phrase it properly. And then, si Tito Boy suddenly said ‘Thank you!’ and ended the interview."
And what Dingdong could possibly say while these two beautiful ladies are fighting (?) over him.
Marian Rivera Cries About Pregnancy Issue - "Na-Hurt Po Ako!"
As the newest Kapuso to go ober-da-bakod, Karylle occupied the hot seat on the Buzz' “Tough Ten” segment where she answered the 10 tough questions that Boy Abunda thrown at her - 9 questions, 8 of which were all about Dingdong, Marian or both.
The no. 1 tough question goes: “Buntis ba si Marian Rivera?” Karylle did not answer anything but a figurative “smile.” Boy Abunda read between the lines and responded, “Salamat sa pagtitiwala.”
This afternoon, when the grand press conference of the MMFF movie “Desperadas 2″ was held at the Imperial Palace Suites, Marian was asked by the press if she’s indeed pregnant. At first, Marian jokingly answered “Pwede bang smile na lang din ang isagot ko?” Afterwards, the reigning primetime queen answered the question straight on, “Hindi po ako buntis.”
“Na-hurt ako sa kanya dahil kung ako ang tatanungin ng ganoong katanungan, ang isasagot ko, ‘Wala po akong alam diyan’ o ‘Wala po ako sa posisyon na sumagot diyan.’ Nagkaroon ng malisya ang pag smile-smile niya. Inaamin ko, na-hurt ako,” she added while she broke into tears.
“Na-offend talaga ako. Hindi naman ako tanga at lalong hindi na ako bata para magkamali ng ganoon na magpabuntis. Marami pa akong gustong mangyari sa career ko at kung mangyayari man yun, ako na ang magsasabi sa inyo. Isa pa, kung mag-boyfriend kami ni Dingdong, ako ang unang aamin dahil lahat naman ng naging boyfriend ko, naging proud ako.”
Then Marian hits back at Karylle without mentioning her name.
“Makakasagot naman siya [Karylle] dahil may alam naman siya. Sana hindi niya na lang idinaan sa pa-smile-smile.”
The question and answer was immediately discontinued. The reporters mobbed Marian afterwards.
Does Karylle’s Smile Confirms Marian Rivera's Pregnancy?
Karylle’s "controversial smile" on Boy Abunda’s question regarding Marian Rivera’s alleged pregnancy ignited a bomb that is about to explode. After her grandest welcome party at ASAP, Karylle occupied the hot seat of The Buzz for the segment “Tough 10 Questions.” She breezed through the first 9 questions of Boy Abunda until she heard the last and most difficult one which was:
“I know you have nothing to do with this pero sabi ko nga kasama ka sa kwentong ito, sa iyong pagkakaalam, Karylle, buntis ba si Marian Rivera?”
Karylle did not reply, kept silent and just smilingly stared back at Boy Abunda.
Prior to her transfer to ABS-CBN, Karylle broke up with her boyfriend of three years - Dingdong Dantes. Since Dingdong is paired with Marian Rivera, rumors abounded that the Primetime Queen is the cause of their break-up.
Karylle, however, denied the rumors and said that only her and Dingdong know the real reason of the break-up.
“I think kami lang ni ‘Dong ang makakalam talaga kung bakit kami naghiwalay. I mean we can explain and explain but it will never be fully sufficient. And I think even to this day, we don’t understand why we broke up. So, parang how can you even explain it to other person?” she said.
ABS-CBN Welcomes Karylle on ASAP '08
Karylle was delightfully introduced by her mom Zsa Zsa Padilla saying, "All I want for Christmas nakuha ko na today. Dahil natupad na ang isa sa mga pangarap ko, as we welcome my true Kapamilya dito sa ASAP '08."
Karylle performed her sexy rendition of Rihanna's "Rehab". She was also serenaded by ASAP Cutie Piolo Pascual, Christian Bautista, Sam Milby and Jericho Rosales.
Karylle also had a heartmelting duet with her mom Zsa Zsa Padilla.
