Gail Nicolas, Mossimo Bikini Summit 2007 winner is the first Pinoy Fear Factor South America participante to be eliminated in the competition. She was the first one to go out of the competition after failing to execute the last challenge "Escape de Auto Sub-aquatico" which goal is to save ‘Mariana’, a doll strapped in a car submerged 5-meters deep underwater. Marion dela Cruz and Erwin Felix were able to accomplish the task, thus, they earned the right to continue with the competition.

Gail has shown bravery and boldness when it comes to facing the challenges but unfortunately she always ended up getting left behind.

Taekwondo Expert Vern Domingo Voted Off of "Survivor Philippines"

Taekwondo expert Veronica "Vern" Domingo, considered to be one of the biggest threats in the competition, was voted out in last Friday's episode of Survivor Philippines. She became the 10th person to be voted out and the third member of the Jury.

The five remaining members of the Naak tribe—JC Tiuseco, Rob Sy, Cris Cartagenas, Kaye Alipio, and Zita Ortiga—bonded once again and voted Vern. On the other hand, the three members of the former Jarakay tribe—Vern, Marlon Carmen, and Charisse Yacapin—voted for Rob.

It was also Vern’s turn to give the black pearl and she gave it to Charisse who won the third Immunity Challenge. The black pearl automatically gives Charisse one vote in the next Tribal Council.

Siyempre, medyo nahe-hurt ako. Lumaban ako ng patas, ibinigay ko lahat. Naduwag sila sa talagang kalaban nila.” said Vern in her exit interview.

Marian Rivera is Ginebra San Miguel 2009 Calendar Girl

Posted by JED on Thursday, November 13, 2008 , under | comments (9)

There is really no stopping Marian Rivera.

After showing her dancing skills on Marimar and swimming her way to the top on Dysebel. Will Marian finally decided to bare flesh this time? I hope she does.

Before she even covers FHM, Uno, Maxim, or Playboy magazine, Ginebra San Miguel is lucky enough to have Marian as their calendar girl for 2009.

The said calendar will be available in selected Metro Manila stores starting December of this year.

Former Ginebra calendar girls are Iwa Moto, Angelica Panganiban, Maureen Larrazabal, Belinda Bright, Maricar de Mesa, Aubrey Miles, Rica Peralejo, Geneva Cruz and Patricia Javier.

Is this the same product endorsement which is said to be the cause of Marian's break-up with her 7-year boyfriend Ervic Vijandre?

Marian Rivera's Official Statement on the Karylle-Dingdong-Marian Love Triangle

Posted by JED on , under , , | comments (0)

Right after Dingdong Dantes and Karylle admitted in public that they finally put an end to their relationship and that Marian Rivera is not the reason for their break-up, rumors about Marian being the third party and the reason for the break-up still persist.

In an official statement sent by Marian's camp to Showbiz Central last Sunday, November 9, Marian said that she is hurt by the accusation but still insist that she has nothing to do with the break-up.

Here is Marian's official statement:

Puwede kayong mag-fail o puwede kayong mag-stick together lalo. Nasa inyo na po ‘yon, di ba?

Kung tunay at wagas ang pagtititnginan ninyo sa isa't isa, at you can stand the test of time, hindi kayo maghihiwalay. Pagsubok kasi ‘yan.

"Maraming salamat."

Nora Aunor's Himala is CNN’s Best Film of All Time in Asia Pacific

Nora Aunor’s 1982 classic movie “Himala” (Miracle) is CNN's Best Film of All Time in the Asia Pacific via a poll conducted by CNN.

Himala is about a girl who claims to have been chosen by the Virgin Mary as the messenger of good faith in a backward town. It’s a masterpiece of award-winning director Ismael Bernal starring erstwhile superstar Nora Aunor.

During the Asia Pacific Screen Awards on Tuesday in Australia’s Gold Coast, “Himala” was announced as the best film in the region. The film won via online voting through CNN’s website.

Himala bested tough competitors, namely Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from China; The Seven Samurai from Japan; Gabbeh from Iran; Gallipoli from Australia; Pather Panchali from India; Oscar-winning Spirited Away from Japan; Oldboy from South Korea; Internal Affairs from Hong Kong/China; and Chungking Express from China.

Himala was the Best Picture in 1982 Metro Manila Film Festival and 1983 Catholic Mass Media Awards. It also raked numerous awards that time from Famas to Urian. It also won the Bronze Hugo Price at the Chicago International Film Festival.

Cedric Lee's Reaction to Vina Morales Pregnancy

Cedric Lee's Reaction to Vina Morales Pregnancy

Businessman Cedric Lee, who are said to be the culprit of Vina Morales pregrancy, finally speak up. In November edition of S Magazine, Cedric neither admit nor deny that he is the father of the child.

I am a married person and I have two sons with my wife. I am not a part of showbiz and I prefer a quiet life. I didn’t hear from Vina Morales say on TV that I am the father; she just said he’s not from showbiz and that there was no need to mention the father’s name. It was actually the co-host of The Buzz, Cristy Fermin, who mentioned my name a few times.” Lee said.

One True Love - Movie Preview

Iza Calzado, together with the most sought-after, successful, and I must say "controversial" loveteam of today - Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, will star in GMA Films and Regal Entertainment's "One True Love".

Synopsis: Medical intern named Migs (Dingdong Dantes) will have to deal with the conflict between his heart and his mind. After three years of courtship, he is about to get married to Joy (Marian Rivera), a nurse who works in the same hospital as him. However, days before the wedding, his first love Bella (Iza Calzado) returns to the Philippines. The balikbayan is still single and still in love with Migs, whom she broke up with in the past when her family migrated to the United States for their restaurant business.

The women in Migs’s life try to get along with each other but knowing that they are both in love with the same man give rise to feelings of jealousy and envy. When Migs gets into an accident, he develops lacunar amnesia, a type pf amnesia that blocks off time periods from one’s memory. In his case, it blocks off the three years that he was in love with Joy and leaving him with memories of Bella.

The movie also stars Jennica Garcia, Pinky Marquez, Bianca King, Tessie Tomas, Boots Anson Roa, and Chinggoy Alonzo.

One True Love is written by Maryo J. delos Reyes and directed by Mac Alejandre. Coming to theaters nationwide on November 19, 2008.

Businessman Kiko Rustia Voted Off of "Survivor Philippines"

Young businessman Kiko Rustia became the 9th person to be voted out and the second jury member in GMA-7’s Survivor Philippines.

Kiko had five votes while waiter Marlon Carmen had four.

Before leaving the Tribal Council area, Survivor Philippines host Paolo Bediones asked Kiko to open a small treasure box that has been on Paolo's side since the first Tribal Council. Inside the box is a black pearl that Kiko can give to one of the remaining castaways. The black pearl will serve as a curse to whoever holds it, and the holder will automatically get an extra vote in the next Tribal Council.

Kiko gave the black pearl to former Naak tribemate Rob Sy, a sales officer, believing that Rob betrayed him. Rob, on the other hand, could only look at Kiko in shocked surprise.

Anything can happen and lagi ko na lang pinapasa-Diyos nga kung matanggal man ako or hindi or alam mo iyon para sa akin ano e God’s will e yung nangyayari. I mean secondary lang yung iniisip ko na desisyon naming lahat. May dahilan kung bakit and I just hope na for the better yung reason ng pagkakatanggal ko.” said Kiko in his exit interview.
