Chairman Fernando, also known as BF, won over fellow finalists comedian-TV host Joey Marquez and fashion designer JC Buendia after getting the most number of text votes.
The Finals Night was divided into two rounds.
In the first round, the three finalists sang with their favorite duet partners from their previous performances. Chairman Fernando chose Asia's Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales, and they sang the Filipino folk song "Ay, Ay, Ay, O Pag-ibig." Joey did a rendition of Kenny Rankin's "What Matters Most" with friend and Kung Ako Ikaw co-host Keempee de Leon. And lastly, JC took the stage once again with Allan K where they sang The Foundation's "Build Me Up Buttercup."
In the second round, the finalists sang with new duet partners. Joey was the first to perform with Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, and they sang Amii Stewart's "Friends." JC got sentimental while performing Frank Sinatra's "Just The Way You Look Tonight" with Jonalyn Viray. Finally, BF brought in veteran singer Basil Valdez and peformed Basil's song "Corner of the Sky."
BF, Joey, and JC, they were joined in the opening number by the eliminated contenders of Celebrity Duets—beauty and wellness guru Cory Quirino, chef JL Cang, soccer player Phil Younghusband, and former beauty queen Carlene Aguilar. Former Miss International Melanie Marquez, who was the first to be eliminated, was not able to attend the finals night.
Before the announcement of winner, Celebrity Duets hosts Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid performed with the three finalists to the tune of Neil Sedaka's "Laughter in the Rain."
The audience inside the Studio 3 pf GMA Network Center, where the Finals Night was held, was in full support for their favorite contender. Each group of supporters had a specific color-coding to distinguish them from one another: yellow for JC, violet for Joey, and pink for BF.
The loved ones of the three finalists were also there to cheer them on—JC's parents, Joey's children, and BF's wife Marikina Mayor Marides Fernando. Mayor Fernando was seated beside beauty expert Ricky Reyes and GMA-7's SVP for Entertainment TV Wilma Galvante.
As the winner of the second season of Celebrity Duets, Chairman Fernando won the one-million cash prize, half of which will go to his chosen beneficiaries—Caritas Manila and Child House.
Season 1 winner Tessa Prieto-Valdes was of the judges this season, along with composer Danny Tan and stage director Freddie Santos.
The Humingi Ka Sa Langit actress also explains why she and Ryan have not yet decided on an actual date for the wedding. “Sa totoo lang, hindi kami makapagbigay ng buwan kasi kami mismo hindi namin alam. For the simple reason na hindi naman sa hindi kami desidido. Yes, decided kami. Ang dami lang talagang dapat i-consider. I’m sure sa mga nagpakasal diyan, they know what I’m talking about,” she explains.
But Judai is quick to deny rumors that they are planning to get married on the same day as her birthday. “Hindi naman ako magpapaka-hassle sa birthday ko (laughs). Mahihimatay na ata ako nun kung gagawin ko pa siya sa birthday ko,” she says. The couple, who first worked together and eventually fell in love on the set of the fantaserye Krystala back in 2005 are also trying to make possible their wish to put up a house before getting married. “Ideally, yun yung gusto naming mangyari. Even before naman ‘pag tinatanong kami, bahay muna ang uunahin talaga namin. After ng kasal, hindi naman puwedeng nakatunganga lang kami at wala kaming pupuntahan after ng wedding ‘di ba? So ayun, pinaguusapan muna namin, naghahanap kami ng lote. Magpapa-feng shui pa. It’s going to be a long, long process. But it’s an exciting process. Excited ako kasi parang nagbubukas ka ng panibagong libro sa buhay mo na wala ka talagang kaalam-alam at all. I’m looking forward to it,” she shares.
After her contract renewal with ABS-CBN last November 6, Judai put to rest all network transfer rumors and has opted to stay a Kapamilya until 2011. After the contract signing, Judai admitted to the press that one of the new stipulations she had her lawyers add to her revised contract was a pregnancy clause. “Kasama yun sa security kasi ayoko lang na dumating din yung time na magkaroon ng sumbatan na ‘Wala hindi mo kasi nilagay, alam mo naman na mangyayari sa buhay mo, eh naka-plano ka na nga, yung ganun.’ Gusto ko lang talaga, as much as possible, up to the littlest detail, maintindihan ko at maiintindihan rin ng kompanyang pinagtratrabahuan ko para lang everybody’s happy,” she confides. The talented actress also stressed that her husband-to-be had no influence on her decision to renew with ABS-CBN. “Whatever decisions naman we do with our own careers, it’s a separate issue actually. There are times na mag-uusap kami, pero hindi yung buyuan na, ‘Dun ka na.’ Walang ganun. Kumbaga I respect his pace when it comes to his career and he respects mine,” she adds.
“Tuloy na tuloy na!” Luis said happily.
“It has a gay theme to it, but beside the gay theme, nandoon na ang mother and son, which is kami ng mommy ko. But there is a very, very different love story, two different stories on top of it,” he added.
The said movie will serve as the directorial comeback of Olivia Lamasan of the award-winning Madrasta and Got 2 Believe.
Luis and John Lloyd will begin shooting in February 2009 where most of the locations will be shot in New York. They have a love scene in the movie which is both first time for both actors.
Reportedly, Karylle’s transfer has the blessings of GMA-7 SVP for Entertainment TV Wilma Galvante. But before her ABS-CBN transfer, Karylle will still be seen on GMA 7, in such shows as ‘SOP,’ ‘Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5,’ and her singing the Philippine National Anthem at the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar de la Hoya boxing match in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 7 (Philippine time), which will be telecast exclusively in the Philippines by GMA 7.
Here is the official statement of STAGES regarding Karylle's transfer:
"Karylle Tatlonghari receives the blessing of Wilma Galvante, GMA-7 SVP for Entertainment, and Darling de Jesus, GMA-7 AVP for Magazine/Musical/Variety, to do television projects with ABS-CBN.
"The decision to move to ABS-CBN has been initiated by STAGES, Karylle's new management team.
"'As Karylle's new partner in the industry, we've been exploring the best projects for her, in and out of television networks, that will continuously hone her singing, acting and hosting skills. She's got incredible talent that is yet to realize its full potential,'" says Carlo Orosa, Business Head, STAGES Talent Group.
"Karylle is very grateful to GMA-7 for all the opportunities the network has given her. GMA-7 has been behind her success since the early years of her career.
"Galvante wishes her the best, and leaves the door open if she decides to return to GMA-7 someday.
"Karylle will finish her commitments in GMA-7 including her appearances on SOP, Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5, and her singing the Philippine National Anthem at the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar de la Hoya boxing match at Las Vegas, Nevada on December 6.
"Karylle, warmly welcomed by ABS-CBN executives Cory Vidanes and Deo Endrinal, will be seen in ABS-CBN's musical variety shows, and soap operas. She is set to record a new album, and reprise her critically-acclaimed portrayal of Maria in STAGES' production of hit Broadway musical, West Side Story, in 2009."
“It’s good to be home,” said Juday as if she ever left “home,” even as she admitted that there were problems, adding, “pero wala namang problemang hindi naaayos sa magkaka-pamilya.”
Aside from her soap Humingi Ako Sa Langit, other projects lined up for her include a teleserye with boyfriend Ryan Agoncillo, a cooking show and a drama anthology.

In the funny yet heartwarming episode "Beauty Queer," Iza plays the role of a consistent "thank you girl" or a losing contestant in beauty pageants who is determined to win a crown. She the resorts to joining a gay beauty contest but can she continue with her plan even if it means exchanging triumph for love? This comedic episode is directed by Dominic Zapata.
Lastly, the award-winning actress will portray the role of an assassin who wants to change her life but her profession keeps haunting her in the episode "Stella .45" directed by Rico Gutierrez.
If the Jose Sarasola video scandal is true, this makes Pinoy Fear Factor even more exciting. Or, is it really a marketing tactic for the show?
"Change has come," Obama told a huge throng of cheering supporters.
“Young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled, Americans have sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of red states and blue states,” he said. “We have been and always will be the United States of America.
“It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.” he said to a long roar.
Obama is the 44th president of the United States of America. He will take his oath of office as president on January 20, 2009.
Just like in the 1972 hit romance-drama Love Story (starring Ryan O'Neal and Ali MacGraw), Bong is confronted with the same dilemma: What would you do if the girl you love has only a few days to live? How much is he willing to love knowing that he will just lose her before long?
The latest 15th anniversary offering of Star Cinema, My Only U, will have its regular screening in Guam until November 20 at the Micronesia Mall. Last October 29, My Only U opened in Philippine cinemas nationwide and reached box-office sales amounting to P11 million, according to Star Cinema.
This romantic comedy is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the same person who helmed the blockbuster hit A Very Special Love starring Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz.
Because this is the story about someone who is leaving at makikita n'yo naman ang mangyayari kung mamamatay siya o hindi."
Vhong points out, "Si Toni kasi, mamamatay e, may sakit siya. Yung character ko gagawin ang lahat para sa kontiong sandali para mabigay mo lahat na di pa niya nagagawa kasi konti na lang ang buhay niya, maiksi na lang ang buhay niya. Sa sobrang mahal mo sya, lahat gagawin mo para sa kanya. Di baleng mapabayaan mo trabaho mo, mga kaibigan mo basta para sa kanya gagawin mo lahat kaya 'my only u.'
Aside from Toni and Vhong, My Only ü also stars Dennis Padilla (as the blind father of Winona), Janus del Prado, Empoy Marquez, Arlene Muhlach, Kitkat, and Benjie Paras (as the persistent ghost who aims to cross over to the other side by completing his earthly duties).
Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus housemate Beauty Gonzalez and comedienne Vangie Labalan are also part of this romantic comedy.

“Kami ‘yon ng boyfriend ko ng five years. Kami ang magkasama so automatically siyempre nagvi-video-han kami. So, it was supposed to be a video na hindi kumalat. It’s a personal video,” she said while crying.
She also believes that her former boyfriend was not behind the proliferation of the video.
“I don’t regret making the video because it was supposed to be a personal file, personal namin ‘yon. Sumasama ang loob ko doon sa naglabas ng video. Alam ko basically kung ano'ng laman ng video. Nakita ko ‘yong video sa phone at that time. Matagal na ‘yon, pero hindi ko inisip na lalabas ‘yon.” she added.
According to the article written by Rommel Llanes, "Apat ang sex videos, at sa apat na yun, pawang may close-up shots pa ang babaeng nasa video. May mga closeup shots din ang lalaking ka-sex ng babae sa video, bagama't bahagyang kita lamang ang mukha nito sa mga kuha dahil nasa akto ng pakikipag-sex."
Meanwhile, on the Points, Opinions and Violent Reactions (POV) segment of The Buzz last Sunday, November 2, the three hosts Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez all shared bits of information in an effort to solve the puzzle. Ruffa went on to say that staff members from her previous film, Desperadas, who are now also the staff of Dingdong and Marian's upcoming movie said that the two are very close on the set. "Sila (staff) ang nagkukuwento na super-sweet daw ang dalawa kahit na walang press," Ruffa revealed.
Kris on the other hand shared that her friend Popoy Caritativo, who is also Marian's manager, told her that the actress and Dingdong aren’t a couple yet. "Hindi sila ni Dingdong pa," Kris quoted Popoy. Popoy also told Kris that Marian is currently happy now, to which Ruffa interjected, "'Yung staff ng Desperadas said, si Marian daw has never been happier in her life." However Kris emphasized there’s nothing wrong with being happy but not at the cost of someone getting hurt. Kris also said that Marian has indeed broken up with her boyfriend because of a commercial deal he did not approve of.
Boy on his part said there shouldn’t be any difficulty for Karylle and Dingdong to say if the relationship has ended and it would definitely simplify their problems. Boy also added another juicy tidbit to the topic by saying he has talked to Marian's ex-boyfriend and he was told that there is no truth in rumors saying that he made Marian chose between him and the project.
The three hosts end the topic by saying that hopefully the issue between the couple and Marian be cleared up soon. Kris even added that she’ll ask Popoy if The Buzz can interview Marian to get her side on the controversy.
Supporters and followers of the 11th Philippine Web Awards (PWA) will finally get their chance to vote for their favorite Web sites, either via e-mail or text messaging (SMS), starting Nov. 10, 2008. The entry that receives the most number of votes in its group will win the Peoples’ Choice Award for that category.
On December 31, 2008, the list of semifinalists would be trimmed down by a panel of judges to five finalists per category. For this year, 100 semifinalists, spread over 18 categories, have qualified. Last year, the 10th PWA had 95 semifinalists and 15 categories.
While the PWA rules allow for 10 semifinalists per category, this year, only one category has the full count- Community & Portal. All the other categories have fewer than 10. In fact, for three- Celebrities & Personalities, Lifestyle & Leisure, and eLGU-Provinces- only three entries for each category qualified as semifinalists.
Both SMS and online voting would end on the eve of the awards night at exactly 12 midnight on Feb. 26 next year. Winners will be announced during the awarding ceremonies on Feb. 27, and will be published in the PWA site.
Meanwhile, entries that will make it to the finals round (to be announced on Dec. 31) will all be in the running for the Best Web Site Award in their respective categories. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges based on a set criteria which can also be found in the PWA site. The finals judges- a different set from the pre-finals panel– are experts in different fields and include media practitioners, artists and Web developers.
Finals judging will run from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15. The decision of each judge will be sent to and tabulated by PWAs auditors who will keep the results under lock and key, and will open them only on the Awards Night itself.

Investigators said the crime may have been committed between past midnight of November 1 and 6AM of November 3. Revillame was away during the weekend and only discovered the incident past 3AM Monday.

19-year-old former barista and gym instructor Jace Flores is the 9th castaway to be eliminated from GMA-7’s Survivor Philippines. In the first Tribal Council after the Naak and Jarakay merge (they are now known as Chalam), Jace was the first to be voted out in a close battle with castaway Kiko. Jace got 6 votes while Kiko got 4.
“I was expecting na at least magka-tie pero something happened e pero di ko pa alam so ok lang. Parang betrayed na parang hurt, sobrang unexpected pero ok lang I still love you guys and good luck. It’s the game, I shouldn’t take it personally so ok lang.” said Jace in his exit interview.
